It is a walking tour, so expect to walk. The scenery is beautiful, and you will learn so much about the city. Ricardo knows so much about the area. We even got to go to 2 local pop up markets that had all sorts of things to buy. Would recommend!
One of the best guides we have ever had .He touched on ,history, architecture, art as we explored these 2 areas. Both the stops were excellent choices as well .We felt very privileged to have had a brilliant guide .
Ricardo is very informative! He is friendly and knows all about his home town! He was great! There is alot to learn and he did fabulous!
Richardo was amazing! Though knowledge of the area during our walking tour. He allowed us to set our pace (whether to stay at one spot a bit longer, or quickly move on to the next landmark). Very professional and personal. Lots of hidden gems and many tips on other excursion/places to eat...Glad we did it!
I would have only taken in the sights at a surface level and cut my exploration short had I walked around the city on my own. Ricardo took the time to explain history, art, architecture, a smaller market, and shared some of his favorite spots in the city that was very enriching. I thought there was no way I would spend 5 hours roaming the beauty of Roma and Condesa -- and while I was very sore, it was time well spent. Ricardo kept us on a well thought out path and schedule - be sure to wear very good walking shoes! Ricardo was an excellent host and I would highly recommend catching the city from a perspective you are not going to get on a bus. The weather was also amazing - best time of the year; he explained the jacaranda trees would be in full bloom in April - also a great time of year to go! I miss CDMX already.
Loved my private tour with Ricardo. He is super friendly, relaxed and passionate about his country. The tour is a bit long, but having an amazing guide makes it worth it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and other tips.
We had an amazing experience on our walking tour with Ricardo! He took us all over Condesa and Roma Norte, making frequent stops to take photos, tell us interesting pieces of history, eat tacos and drink coffee, and even shop at a few markets. He gave us tons of insider info that can only come from a México City native (chilango), including a helpful list of recommended bars, restaurants and other attractions in the area. Highly recommend!
A walking tour with Ricardo was the perfect way to kick off my first time in CDMX. He’s so friendly & created a great casual environment to engage and ask questions throughout the tour, which was a perfect blend of classic spots & lesser known gems around Roma Norte. HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking to get more context from a local, who weaves both a historical and modern perspective throughout the tour.
Our tour guide was funny, charismatic, and incredibly knowledgeable. He brought the neighborhoods of Roma Norte and Polanco to life with fascinating stories, history, and little details I would have never discovered on my own. His passion for Mexico’s culture was contagious and made me appreciate the beauty, traditions, and spirit of the city on a whole new level. What started as a tour became a true cultural experience. I left feeling more connected to Mexico and with an even greater love for its people, history, and culture. Highly recommend this experience! ❤️🇲🇽
Super friendly and interesting tour guide. Lots of cool things to see and good pace throughout the tour.
I loved the experience with the best guide! Without a doubt, this tour exceeded all my expectations. From the very first moment, the organization was great—an excellent itinerary and an attention to detail that really makes the difference.
Great, nicely paced and informative tour with Ricardo. Thank you.
Excellent experience by Ricardo (Chilango Insider). Richard has a passion for CDMX and delights in showing both there well known aspects of the city, as well as the "insider" aspects. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, and be prepared for around 10,000+ steps over the period of the tour. Ricardo is always checking in to make sure you are comfortable and if any adjustments need to mer made. Highly recommend this excellent experience.
Ricardo is a wonderful guide! We really enjoyed the tour. It’s awesome to hear about the history and context, we really got to know the neighbourhood through a carefully curated path. Would recommend!
This was the perfect way to start my solo trip to CDMX. I ended up being the only guest, which made it feel like a private tour! My guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the city. We explored Condesa and Roma Norte while talking about the history, architecture, culture, food, and everyday life in Mexico City. I learned so much, got amazing recommendations for the rest of my trip, and left feeling much more comfortable navigating the city on my own. The conversation felt natural and engaging the entire time. If you’re visiting CDMX for the first time, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It gave me a much better appreciation for these beautiful neighborhoods and helped me discover places I never would have found on my own.
I had such a fun time with my friends, exploring the area and trying some food
I had previously spent some time wandering around Condesa and Roma Norte on my own, so I wasn’t sure how much I would get out of a guided tour, but the reviews sold me… and oh my goodness, I can’t believe I almost missed out on this experience! I learned SO much, visited iconic landmarks and picturesque hidden gems, laughed a lot, exceeded well over 10k steps, tried some delicious local treats, purchased handcrafted souvenirs, captured some incredible photos (Ricardo’s a great photographer!), and even made some new friends! Ricardo’s passion for his city and ability to share his knowledge with others is what really made this tour stand out. His storytelling is engaging and entertaining, and it feels less like a formal tour and more like exploring with a local friend. He goes beyond the obvious highlights and shares the rich local history, the influences behind the varying types stunning architecture, and the unique little details that give these neighborhoods their distinct personalities. This tour left me with a much deeper appreciation and understanding of these neighborhoods… not to mention a long list of local businesses and hidden gems to go back and explore. Truly one of my favorite experiences in Mexico City!
Ricardo is an excellent and very knowledgeable tour guide! He provided several historical facts along the tour and you can definitely tell he is passionate about the city of Mexico (: I recommend this tour if you’re interested in seeing the popular spots for locals, hidden gems, history, and architecture. Bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk! Bring an umbrella in case of rain.
It was an awesome experience! Richi knows Condesa and Roma very well, and as we walked through the neighborhoods, he shared lots of interesting information in a fun and engaging way. The tacos we tried were fantastic. I highly recommend this tour!
If you ever get the chance to explore Condesa and Roma Norte with Ricardo as your guide, don’t think twice — just say yes. Ricardo took us on an afternoon walk through two of Mexico City’s most iconic colonias, and what could have been a simple stroll turned into a genuinely memorable experience. He knew exactly where to look: the Art Deco facades most people walk right past, a hidden garden tucked behind an unmarked door, a stunning private library inside a historic cultural house, and a contemporary art installation inside a century-old rotunda. Every stop felt intentional and personal. What sets Ricardo apart is his genuine passion for the city. He doesn’t just show you places — he tells you why they matter, what makes them special, and what the neighborhood used to be. Even when the rain came down and we huddled under a doorway watching a Neo-Gothic church disappear into the clouds, it felt like part of the experience. If you love architecture, culture, history, or just want to fall in love with CDMX all over again — Ricardo is your guy. Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As someone who has lived in Mexico City for years, I wasn’t sure how much I could learn about Roma Norte and Condesa. I was pleasantly surprised. Ricardo has an incredible ability to tell fascinating stories that makes you see these neighborhoods with fresh eyes. Even places I had walked past countless times suddenly had a deeper meaning and context. The tour was engaging, well-paced, and full of interesting details and hidden spots that most locals probably don’t know. Ricardo’s passion for the city is contagious, and his knowledge is truly impressive. I would recommend this tour not only to visitors, but also to anyone from Mexico City who wants to rediscover their own city.
This was one of the best experiences we had in Mexico City. Ricardo is incredibly knowledgeable about the history, architecture, culture, and evolution of Roma Norte and Condesa, but what really sets him apart is how engaging and personable he is. The tour felt less like a traditional walking tour and more like exploring the city with a local friend. We visited beautiful parks, hidden courtyards, art spaces, cafés, and places we never would have discovered on our own. Ricardo paced the tour perfectly, checked in on everyone, and shared fantastic recommendations for the rest of our stay. By the end, we felt we truly understood these neighborhoods and the city itself. If you’re visiting Mexico City and want an authentic, insightful, and memorable experience, this tour is absolutely worth it.
As a local, I’ve walked through Roma and Condesa many times and still got to visit places that I’ve never been before or even knew they existed. It was an incredible experience to feel like a tourist in my own city and have that sense of discovery.Ricardo has a talent for making every stop feel relevant and interesting without overwhelming you with information. The experience felt relaxed and genuinely enjoyable. I left with a list of places I want to revisit and a new appreciation for these neighborhoods.
Not only did we see historical places, Ricardo also showed us the hidden gems of Roma Norte and Condesa. Ricardo is very knowledgeable of the areas and thorough too! Look no further and book this, you won’t regret it!
Great overview of the history, city formation and architecture behind La Condesa and Roma Norte. Highly recommended!
This tour exceeded my expectations. Ricardo (our guide) is very knowledgeable about the area. Throughout the tour, he was giving us detailed explanations of everything we saw, as well as historical context. It really helped better our understanding of where we were, and how it has changed across historical periods. I strongly recommend this tour, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it
Ricardo was super sweet, I ended up being the only person on the tour so he made it as personalized as he could for me. He gave me so many recommendations and taught me about the history of each area. I had a great time.
Fun walking tour with lots to see and learn about the neighborhoods and the city. Ricardo is a great guide
Truly an epic tour with Ricardo! Great day with great insight with stops along the way to appreciate the history and culture of the area with some “hidden gems” that were terrific. Wonderful tour that is a must with Ricardo.
Ricardo is a lovely guy and a fantastic guide. His knowledge of art, history and architecture is both impressive and accessible. I was lucky to have a solo tour with him, but no matter what he is the person to take you around these beautiful neighborhoods.
Ricardo is hands down the best tour guide I've ever had! He is very knowledgeable of every part of the city so any question you have, he'll know the answer. He is very kind and checks in on you considering how long the walking tour ends up being and let's you take breaks as you need. He adds his own jokes in and personality to the tour so it ends up being a super fun and educational experience. 10/10
Highly recommended! Anyone who loves to walk (wear comfy shoes) and explore gorgeous neighbourhoods this is the tour for you. Great guide who knows and loves his town. Condesa and Roma are filled with stories, scenery, parks and art and Ricardo does an amazing job bringing them to life over five fabulous hours!
I booked this tour on our first full day in CDMX. Our hotel was in Roma Norte, and I thought an informed stroll would help to familiarize ourselves with the neighborhood. Our tour guide, Ricardo, did not disappoint. His love for his city is so evident in his carefully planned and extensive tour. On our walk, Ricardo spoke about architecture, history, economy, social trends and art while also shuffling us into a beautifully curated mansion, down cobblestoned alleys, up to rooftop lounges, inside lush green courtyards, through an art exhibit in a hidden modern stairwell. All the time, checking in with us to see how we were feeling. We had two short "breaks", one in a lovely hotel coffee shop and then in an amazing pastry cafe. Even if you are not staying in this charming, tree-lined, historic area, I would highly recommend booking this tour with Ricardo.
Ricardo was the perfect guide to guide us in these two communities. We appreciated getting outside of the historic district to learn more about these two vibrant areas. We had several breaks along the way for coffee or something cold. He also took us to the best pastry shop around! We loved the parks, at galleries and shops. Wear comfortable shoes!
Key tour highlights were visits to ‘local’ gems that I would’ve missed as a first time visitor. I had a great overall experience. Ricardo communicated early, arrived on time and highly recommended.
We had a great time exploring the amazing neighborhoods of Roma Norte and Condesa with Ricardo, our tour guide. He has so much knowledge of the neighborhoods as he is a self identified Chilango. We saw some of the most beautiful architecture, specifically how different it was depending on the neighborhood and when it was established. We visited some amazing art galleries and had some coffee and snack breaks and some really amazing spots...including what's probably the best bakery I have ever been too. I would definitely recommend this tour with Ricardo. Just make sure you have some comfortable shoes on since you'll get nearly 12,000 steps in!!!!
Truly excellent guide with a comprehensive knowledge of the history of Mexico City and particularly these two neighborhoods. Very accommodating to the pace and interest of the guests. We saw many areas we had not seen when we were in these neighborhoods before.
Ricardo is a delight to spend time with. His insight into the history and culture in these areas was appreciated. He was also attentive to our needs and customized the tour for us. He was also easy to communicate with before, during and after the walking tour.
Ricardo is a gem. He is knowledgable, interesting, friendly, and takes you to all of the places you want to see--from the major highlights to the more unknown spots that only a local would know about. We covered a ton of ground on our tour and by the end of the afternoon felt we had a really good sense of both neighborhoods. Ricardo also made himself available by text after for any questions we had about places to go, food, etc. during the rest of the trip. Highly recommend!
It was a great tour we went places and walked down streets we probably wouldn’t go on our own. We wish we had more stops for snacks or food and maybe a little more shopping. Looking at architecture and art is great but it would’ve been nice to mix it up a little more.
Ricardo was excellent. He gave us a wide variety of experiences, with relevant history including early development of the area, immigration patterns, the the impact of the two most recent earthquakes. He also exposed us to excellent visual art, beautiful design, and local crafts.
Ricardo was an outstanding guide who taught us a lot about the Roma / Condessa area Ricardo is full of life and loves to share his experiences in this beautiful city . This is a relatively long tour , but Ricardo makes sure that you have breaks ! We are a 66 year old couple and had no problem .
Ricardo talked about the very interesting character and history of the two neighborhoods. We felt well informed by his tour. He was friendly and concerned about our wellbeing on the walk.
This walking tour was fun, informative and covered a lot of ground! Ricardo has extensive knowledge about the areas and will show you interesting and fun facts!
Great walking tour, knowledgeable about the area. Explained the history of the area and showed us many significant buildings.
Very good tour. I live in México City but learned a lot and saw some places I have never been. Would recommend highly.
Fantastic afternoon, walking through beautiful neighborhoods, learning about the history of Condesa and Roma Norte and their architectural styles. And a “not to miss” bakery you will re-visit again! Highly recommend this walking tour to anyone who wants to learn about Mexico City. These are the neighborhoods I will stay in the next time I visit. The parks are simply beautiful.
Ricardo was fantastic guide! Informative, thoughtful, and fun! We felt like we got a great grip on the neighborhoods and learned a ton about Mexican history and culture.
This is one of my favorite places in the world and Ricardo was an amazing guide! It was just the two of us that day and it felt like exploring the city with your very knowledgeable friend. This tour takes up most of the day and covers a lot of ground but it was really incredible.
