Avi was a great host and had a ton of knowledge to pass on. It was so fun to leave about CDMX, its neighborhoods and many of its taco spots. My wife and I had a great time!

Everything went perfectly from starting on time to the pace of the tour to all the wonderful cultural experiences. This was an amazing presentation of sights, sounds, smells, and of course, tastes. Avi was a superb tour guide. His local knowledge and the places he selected were outstanding.

What an amazing tour we had with Avi. He was waiting for us at the pickup point after checking with us the night before. The timing and pace of the tour was ideal. All of the places had their own unique styles and tastes. Everyone had personal favorites for tortillas, salsas, and ingredients. It was not a strenuous walk, with several chances to sit, and also had bathroom stops. The last stop for coffee and chocolate was a great finish.

We had an incredible taco tour in Mexico City with our Mensch Jorge, who made the entire experience unforgettable. Somehow the tour was both exciting and deeply relaxing at the same time. The food was absolutely amazing, but what really set this experience apart was the way Jorge blended culture, history, and family tradition into every stop along the way. The four of us were part of a group of eight on the tour, and each of us walked away with a completely different “favorite” part of the experience, which says a lot about how thoughtfully the tour was put together. We also made friends with the rest of the group! Jorge didn’t just tell us about the food. He shared the stories behind it, the traditions, the families, and even introduced us to some of the people preparing the dishes. It made every bite feel meaningful and authentic. This was so much more than a food tour. It felt like a genuine introduction to the heart of Mexico City and its people. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico City.

Absolutely one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City. The taco tour was incredibly well organized, and every stop felt authentic and thoughtfully chosen. We tried a huge variety of tacos — from classic al pastor to some amazing regional specialties — and everything was delicious. Our guide was fantastic: super knowledgeable about the food, neighborhoods, and history of the city, while also making the whole experience fun and relaxed. What really stood out was how much local culture was woven into the tour. It didn’t feel touristy at all — more like exploring the city with a friend who knows all the best spots. We also appreciated the pacing and the balance between eating, walking, and learning about the neighborhoods. Come hungry because there is a lot of food. This was an awesome taco tour! We got lucky and had Avidan (the owner of the company) as our guide. He crafted a great itinerary, starting with a demonstration of traditional tortilla making and ending with coffee and a delicious chocolate dessert. I lost track of how many different tacos we tasted in between, but there were a lot and they were all so good! Avidan clearly knows what he's talking about and is very well-connected in the city. Each taco had a story and the tour really showcased the variety of different tacos that you can find in CDMX. I highly recommend this tour and this company!

I’d give this 10 stars if I could. Avidan was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. I felt like by the end we had found a new friend. He offered up plans for the remainder of the vacation. The food was delicious and he took us to places I would never have ventured into. This was the highlight of our trip!!

We had a very nice tour with Avidan himself. He showed us around Roma Nord and Condesa and we had some very good Tacos! From how tacos are produced and the many different ways tacos can be made. You really feel the passion of Avidan for food and to share that with other people. We found him very authentic and super sympatic. He was very patient with our two kids (6 and 4 years old) and included them in the tour. Since we stayed in Condesa for our visit of CDMX we also got a lot of other useful information about the area in parallel. Thank you once again Avidan!

This is a really good tour. Avi knows his tacos and local culture. We had 5 tacos at four stops, and a pastry + coffee to end the tour. The length of the tour is just right, but wanted to learn even more about the many areas we visited. Price is not cheap, but would recommend it.

The tour involved a decent amount of walking, but it was manageable, though I’d recommend wearing comfortable walking or running shoes to fully enjoy the journey. Jyoti’s knowledge of the local food scene and fluent Spanish made every interaction seamless and immersive, offering us a true insider’s perspective. Each taco shop we visited was unique and brimming with character, but our absolute favorite was the pastor taco shop, where the flavors were out of this world. From start to finish, the tour was a delicious and authentic dive into Mexico City’s culinary heart. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to taste the city like a local!

We just returned from an outstanding food tour with chef Daniel. We started with an introduction to a small tortilla manufacturing shop where we learned about the processing of corn into tortillas and saw them being made. We had tacos there and then proceeded to tour a neighborhood market where we were introduced to numerous regional specialties complete with samples. Then street food, more tacos, and finally coffee and desert. Chef Daniel was informative and very personable and very good company. The food was delicious and not something we could have done on our own. This was one of the best tours we have taken anywhere in the world. Come hungry!

Great way to start exploring the multitude of taco options in CDMX. At the same time allows you to see a good chunk of Condesa. It's a very safe area of Mexico City and is a good way to start your experience in the city.

We were stuffed by the end of our tour! We stopped at a variety of places - spots we would have never found or been brave enough to try if we were on our own. Our guide ensured our individual dietary needs were addressed at each stop. I highly recommend this tour!

My boyfriend and I took this tour and we had such a good time. This was our second visit to CDMX and we wanted to do a taco tour in the Roma/Condessa area since we were staying around there. Normally we do private tours so we have more control over the itinerary but we thought it would be more fun doing a group tour and that definitely was the case. Everyone on the tour was so friendly and interesting and it was more fun being in a group. Our guide was really knowledgeable and provided great information, we were lucky to have the owner's wife on the tour and she took amazing pictures that she shared with everyone after the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, the tacos were delicious and it was a perfect way to spend a few hours in CDMX.

Everything you would want in a taco tour! My partner and I ended up being the only ones on the tour, so it was personalized to us. Our guide, Jim, was knowledgeable and made the tour really fun and engaging along the way. We had five different stops and it was a great way to see parts of Mexico City, get a little bit of history, and try a few different tacos and other things during the tour.

I had this tour recommended to me and it did not disappoint! Great tour for first timers and even if you’ve been to CDMX. Avidan is super knowledgeable and passionate. He put something special together here - a mix of more general stops like a market and also places you couldn’t go without his personal connections, like a boutique tortilla shop. Really enjoyed this tour. Lots of great foodie info. Besides eating great tacos, visited a tortilla maker who works with native heirloom corn. Also visited a mercado and got some great info on various peppers, moles and spices. Highly recommend.

Our tour with Daniel was outstanding. We had five adults (including two grandparents) and two children, ages 12 and 14. The tour was very well organized with time to sit in some places, a bathroom break, and so much amazing food. Daniel explained how tacos are made and told us about different types of corn and cooking techniques. He also talked about the architecture in the neighborhoods where we walked. He was very kind to the kids and they responded enthusiastically to foods that were entirely new to them. In addition to stopping at various places serving food, he took us to the market and told us about different fruits and other things. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time with Daniel and recommend him highly.

This was our fourth time doing a tour with Taco Mensch, but the first time doing a tour with our whole family - ranging from 12 to 76, and including a picky vegetarian. Daniel made the experience amazing for everyone - it was our first adventure in Mexico City and it really set the tone for an amazing trip. Daniel was flexible and fun and his laid back approach made the kids comfortable with trying some new foods. I booked this tour for my daughter (age 8) and I who were visiting Mexico City, and for two friends who both live in Mexico City. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY A DELIGHT! Avidan's knowledge and passion for Tacos and Mexican food is infectious. The walking tour is just the right amount of walking, eating, sharing, exploring and learning and well worth the price. The tacos are DELICIOUS and very different from stop to stop. Beyond a food tour, you also get to connect with the other attendees from around the world, which is a bonus! I have to admit, for moment a questioned a "taco tour" --- how different would it be from just eating street food on our own? This was the perfect event to do with friends! Not only do you get to eat and experience amazing local products, but you also get to walk around beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City and learn more about the culture. My whole bachelorette party group had a wonderful time, and by the end, we truly felt like we had a friend in Mexico City! Highly recommend!! The host is super friendly, and has a great connection with the locals. You learn so much and see so many unique pieces of the city and its food you wouldn't see without the tour. Walking through the market, seeing the tortillaria, and enjoying the different types of tacos was a really memorable experience! It's also affordable, vig CASH to tip. He uses engaging stories to explore the history of tacos in Mexico City and gave us hands on experience into the process of making a taco (from milling the corn to topping it with salsas). Ok, so here's a little secret: going on the Taco Mensch experience with Avidan is not like going on a tour with a guide, but more like going for a stroll with your new best friend who happens to be not only an expert on tacos and where to find find the best ones, but also on anything that relates in some way or other to Mexico City or food. Avidan is extremely well-travelled and has lots of different work experience in the food and hospitality industry, which clearly transpires in this tour. Avidan sincerely cares for his guests as well as the businesses and food stalls he works with; he is not only super knowledgeable and interesting, but also genuinely interested, which makes all the difference! We had a fantastic time--the 3 hours flew by trying so many unique and delicious bites--and Avidan was also fantastic at facilitating a great group spirit whenever we sat down. Even though we were plenty full by the end of it, we were a bit sad the tour was over and time had come to say goodbye to our newfound friends. Don't hesitate to book this experience if you're remotely interested in tacos or Mexican cuisine in general. We wouldn't have found most of these places by ourselves (and definitely wouldn't have had all of their background stories); plus, Avidan kindly left us with a list of recommendations for when we get hungry again. We loved every second of it!
