Hands down the best walking tour I've ever been on - I cannot recommend highly enough! You'll get to see all the major sights, but with the context and local insights needed to truly appreciate them. Pacing is perfect. You cover so much, but with plenty of time for pictures, snacks, and breaks. Ricardo is phenomenal - incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, can answer any and all questions, and has palpable love for his city. AND you'll get to stop at fun local spots that you'd never find otherwise for the best views! This tour combines the best of sightseeing with the vibe of visiting someone you know and getting a personalized experience. You'll leave with a really meaningful connection to CDMX, and a list of recommendations and spots to revisit that is long enough to last you the rest of your trip and convince you to come back for another!
If you are looking for a comprehensive tour of the historic center, this is it. Ricardo is a fantastic ambassador for all things CDMX. You'll learn a bit of everything - history, politics, geology, art, architecture and more. Plus you'll get some vantage points on the city that would not be obvious to the casual tourist. Highly recommended.
Great overview and gems of the historical center with a local! Get those walking shoes on and get ready for some exploration. It's a must-do whether you're a first timer or if it's been a while since your last visit (like me!).
Beautiful, practical, friendly and full of culture and history!! Ricardo is very educated in the sibject and fun to be around. Enjoy it, we highly recomen it.
If you want to experience Mexico City through the eyes of a true Chilango, you absolutely must take a tour with Ricardo. His knowledge of the city is nothing short of extraordinary. He has a unique talent for weaving together rich historical context with fascinating, lesser-known facts that you won't find in any standard guidebook. What really sets him apart, though, is his genuine passion for his city and its people, it's completely contagious. Beyond the usual tourist sites, Ricardo knows exactly where to find the best hidden gems and the most stunning, off-the-beaten-path spots for photos. I cannot recommend his tours highly enough!
Nice walking tour!!! Informative, fast paced…Great photo opps…wish it included more!!! Our guide was great!!!
Wow!!! Such an amazing Tour with Richardo for our 18 stops of adventure and his professional expertise knowledge, love and passion for his home city that we will always remember for our lifetime, absolutely spectacular!!!
We booked 6 hour tour to see 1 museum.’, downtown , and drive through couple other neighborhoods! He was very knowledgeable and timely.
Great experience! Ricardo is super knowledgeable about the area and has taken us to many places that are not usual tourist spots. We also learnt a lot about the history of these landmarks and many interesting stories. He is also great at pointing out the best spots for Instagram photos! Would recommend to those looking for a deeper experience around the Centro area.
Ricardo is a very passionate, knowledgeable tour guide! We had him for both the historic city center followed by a taco tour. He shows you the main sites through the lens of the Mexican people with a few extra spots you may not find on your own! Highly recommend Ricardo to anyone looking for a local guide while in Mexico City!
I was considering exploring the area on my own, but decided to join Ricardo’s tour at the last minute. And oh my goodness! I was blown away by how much I enjoyed the experience and how much I would have missed if I hadn’t joined. Easily the best part was discovering places that I would have absolutely walked right past on my own - from iconic landmarks to hidden gems, all while listening to Ricardo share stories of the area’s rich history, quirky fun facts, and a few dad jokes. We visited so many beautiful spots throughout the day, but somehow the experience never felt rushed. Ricardo is an incredible guide who is clearly passionate about what he does, and he made it feel like exploring with a local friend instead of joining a formal tour. The end of the day was the cherry on top: watching the sunset from a rooftop bar with skyline views and a mezcalita in hand. By the end, I left with a deeper appreciation and love for the city and found myself seeing places I’d passed before through new eyes. If you’re looking for a tour that goes beyond the usual tourist checklist and helps you truly connect with Mexico City, I highly recommend this experience. I even left with a few new friends!
Highly recommend it! It was a truly rewarding experience. Ricardo was an amazing guide always friendly, helpful, and attentive. I discovered so many hidden details about Mexico City that I never would have imagined. I would definitely do it again. Thank you!
Richi was very patient, clear, and especially fun throughout the tour. His explanations were culturally insightful and highly entertaining. It felt more like a walk with friends than a guided tour. I learned a lot while having a great time, and I would highly recommend this experience.
This is one of the GOAT walking tour experiences I've had. What makes this special ? | 1. Gives the vibe of the historic district of CDMX from 10-15 different vantage points. | 2. Amazing restaurants covered - if you're staying in the city for multiple days, you'd want to revisit. | 3. Political and Artistic history of Mexico covered. | 4. Ricardo is very well spoken. Flawless delivery and good insight into the history. He cares about his job deeply and works hard towards it. Nothing but respect. | 5. Ask your questions! Which place is the best viewing point? Which has the best tacos? Etc etc - Ricardo has the answers (all beyond the walking tour of course).
Thanks Richi! It was so cool the experience the centro histórico tour. It is true that you know some hidden jewels in the city.
My husband and I, along with my 9-year old son, went on both the Epic Centro Histórico Walking Tour and the Epic Condesa and Roma Norte Walking Tour with Ricardo. Ricardo did a wonderful job showing us around the neighborhoods and pointing out beautiful sites and good places to eat. We all enjoyed the tours and would highly recommend them.
Ricardo’s tours are simply the best!✨ They feel more like a day with friends than a typical guided tour. He perfectly combines all the must-see highlights with special hidden spots. His knowledge and storytelling make everything come alive. You can really tell he cares about giving every participant the best possible experience and his passion for the city is contagious ☺️ I’ve already done his taco tour before and I’d happily join him again anytime.
We took this tour out last day in Mexico and we were it was by far the best experience - Ricardo took us in the heart of the city and provided a historic and educational experience. He made the tour fun and interesting for our kids - highly recommend his tour ! When we return to Mexico we willl be certain to request another tour with Ricardo!
Ricardo was an amazing tour guide! You can tell that he really has the itinerary nailed down. He showed both well-known and little-known gems. Great introduction to our Mexico City trip!
Ricardo is a passionate local who genuinely loves sharing the magic of Centro Histórico. This was truly an epic tour, filled with hidden gems that made for incredible photo opportunities. His knowledge and energy made the experience feel special and authentic. Without a doubt, it was one of my favorite parts of my trip to CDMX. You’ll absolutely enjoy this tour!
Great walking tour! Ricardo was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable of the city and its history. I would recommend this tour to see places in the city you wouldn’t see on your own.
It’s a long day. Wear good walking shoes, hat, sunglasses. Ricardo is very knowledgeable about Mexico City history.
Excellent walking tour, the time flew by (6 hours in total). Our guide was deeply knowledgeable of history and current culture of Mexico. Very articulate, we felt a personal connection and commitment., Lots of great views, historical buildings, rooftop bars, and recommendations on restaurants and other activities.
This is one of the best tours I have ever been on. Ricardo knows the city really well, so we got to see hidden gems that a lot of people would never see on their own. This tour gave good historical context, showcased a lot of beauty, but also included hidden rooftops for pandemic views. It felt like we were able to do the touristy things but it never felt touristy. We felt like we had insider access. Ricardo was very knowledgeable and very passionate about his home.
We just took Ricardo's walking tour. We loved it! Ricardo's love for this city is infectious. He pointed out and showed us things that we never would have noticed or found without a knowledgeable guide. He is a great communicator and made the history (and the present) of Mexico City very interesting and awesome. He also takes great pictures. Id say to anyone visiting (or even locals) you should do this tour. And, do it early in your trip because we left with a great many suggestions for things to do after our tour ended. Thanks Ricardo for such a memorable day!
Very informative! Ricardo takes his time to take you through the chapters of history that make it the city that you’re stepping through today. He explains how every building or site was founded, who built it, why it was built, and makes you notice things you may have otherwise missed. Highly recommend booking towards the beginning of your trip since he is also very good at giving you recommendations from a local’s perspective. He also knows all the spots to get the best photos!
What an amazing tour! Ricardo was the best guide we’ve ever had and his deep knowledge of and passion for Mexico and his culture made this tour all the more memorable! He took us to places that most tourists miss and gave us the ultimate CDMX insider’s view on some of the most important sites in the city. Ricardo is a super cool guy and he’s got a friend in us now!
Ricardo was wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, and made sure my mom and I and the rest of our group were comfortable the entire time. You can feel the love for his Mexico City and all its beauty it has to offer. Highly recommend 100%. Thank you again!!
Totally worthwhile, informative, tour of Historico Centro. Ricardo is a charming guide, very knowledgeable & enthusiastic. The six hours went by quickly. Excellent value for the price.
What can I say about the day I had touring the fabulous historic district with Ricardo except that it was one of the best days I’ve had in my travels? Big statement, I know, but I stand by it. Ricardo’s passion for his city, its people history and art are so evident, and you can’t help but be swept up in it. He showed me “secret” spots for amazing views. He gave me insight into the what makes Mexico México. Our time together flew by. I would do a tour with Ricardo again in a heartbeat.
This was an excellent way to start my week in Mexico City. I feel I got the jackpot joining Ricardo for a solo tour! Very kind, full of knowledge, history, and pride in where he lives. By the end I felt I had made a new friend and like I knew some true hidden gems of the city as well. Thanks amigo!
Ricardo was an incredible tour guide! There were so many spots and places that he took us to that we would have never known about, and he pivoted seamlessly when several spots that are usually open were closed due to protests. It was the perfect way to start our time in Mexico City, giving us a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Mexican Culture. He even went the extra mile to ensure that we made it home when many of the streets were closed off.
I had a fascinating and educational day exploring the city with Ricardo. By chance, I was the only one so it became a solo tour. Ricardo was so knowledgeable about the history, architecture and art of the region. He pointed out many specific details that made me think and truly appreciate the magic of the city. In addition to the main sites, we explored hidden gems and rooftops with spectacular views. It was a long tour but I had a great time and was happy to end with a cocktail toast as the sun was setting. I would definitely recommend Ricardo and his thoughtful presentation of this gem of a city. I walked away with a profound appreciation for Mexico City and can’t wait to go back.
This tour was a highlight of our trip to Mexico City. Ricardo's knowledge and passion for the architecture, history, and culture of the city made the experience a special one. Our tour felt like we were off the beaten path and got a unique look at the city through a local's perspective. We also enjoyed some great rooftop views and hidden gems throughout the Mexico City. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see the city and learn about its culture and history.
This walking tour is a must. Ricardo is very knowledgeable of the area; he showed us places that otherwise we would not be aware of. My wife and I enjoyed the tour. Plus he gave us tips on where to visit next and the good places to eat.

Ricardo is a great tour guide. He spent 6 hours with us. He answered all the questions what we asked. He even helped my boys to reset their new SIM cards for their phones. I would highly recommend Ricardo for your tour guide.
As I was the only person to have booked this tour, it ended up being a private tour. Ricardo was a very friendly guide, he gave me a lot of information about the history of Mexico and he allowed me to take as many pictures as I wanted. He showed me some secret spots and hidden gems so I consider myself lucky to have been given this beautiful tour. The duration of the tour was 5h30, almost 20 000 steps, and every bit of this tour was really worth it!!!
Very knowledgeable guide who took his time informing us. This was really helpful for getting to know CDMX. Highly recommend!
My wife and I took this tour on a recent trip to CDMX. We were looking for something that would give us an overview of the Centro Historico, without being overly touristy. This fit the bill perfectly and more! Not only did we get a great sampling of all the major sights, Ricardo added so many bits of history with a personal/local touch. One of the aspect of the tour that I loved the most was that it didn't seem canned like so many tours often do. Ricardo knew his stuff and shared it well, while also being personable, relaxed, and fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone--a million stars!
Our walking tour of Mexico City was absolutely outstanding! Ricardo was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the city's history and culture to life with fascinating insights. Their experience truly showed in how seamlessly the tour was organized. What stood out most was their excellent communication-clear, engaging, and attentive to everyone's questions and needs. Ricardo made sure every person felt included and cared for throughout the experience. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a deeper, more meaningful connection to this amazing city!
Ricardo is the BEST tour guide you'll find in Mexico City. He was nothing but inviting and welcoming. He made the tour so informational but also personal which made me feel so much better traveling solo. I can't explain how great of a day I had. You will not go wrong booking this tour.
Ricardo could not have been more charming, personable and just fun to be with. His passion for the history of Mexico and its people is reflected in everything he says and does. Through him, we learned that Mexicans carry their culture with a fiery love that's both heartfelt and unshakable, whether through food, art or fütbol. Thank you Ricardo.. for showing us this enduring spirit that welcomes, inspires, and connects across generations.
It’ll involve a lot of walking, but it’s well worth the effort. Ricardo is super friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to the hidden gems in the city and told very intimate stories about each site from a local’s perspective. We loved our tour.
Ricardo is an amazing tour guide He made us feel very comfortable on the tour. He is deep in knowledge of his amazing city. The 5 1/2 hour walking tour was at an easy pace and the time seemed like it flew by. He shared with us not only the typical stops you get on must tours but many hidden gems along the way. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone.
Ricardo was amazing. He was like our friend showing us around. He was extremely knowledgeable and never rushed us. Learned so much and really enjoyed each location.
This was our 1st time in Mexico City, and I cannot think of a better way (or person) to see the Centro Historico than spending the day with Ricardo, who not only knows CDMX, but loves it, loves his job, and told us what else to see on our remaining days! BIG plus is that he is truly bilingual (SP/EN). He took us to places we would not have found on our own. He also gave enough history to keep things interesting but not boring. He was patient when everyone on our tour day got lost (thanks to Uber drivers!) and was late. He took almost an extra hour of his time at the end to get us to see everything he promised. And when a Saint's day mass at the main cathedral was happening when we were supposed to be visiting it, he quickly altered the plans, got us to the mural museum, and then back to the church as soon as mass was ending but before it closed! Great timing. You'll see so many cool places! I like that fact that we could return to a lot of them on our own if we wanted to explore more (like museums). Fortunately, there are 3 breaks worked into the schedule, so just when you start getting hungry, thirsty, and/or tired and need a bathroom, Ricardo is like, OK, a break is coming up in 5 minutes! lol We could not believe how much we walked! If you are out-of-shape or have kids, I'd think twice. Ricardo is a great guy, and we highly recommend his day tour. P.S. His recommendations to visit the Anthropology Museum, Castle, and Polanco for dinner were spot on! Gracias Amigo!
We are so grateful that we took this tour with Ricardo on our first day in Mexico City! It was perfect! We saw so many beautiful buildings and spots we never would have known to go on our own. Ricardo is a great guide, photographer, and now friend😉. We highly recommend his tour!
Outstanding tour of the historic district of Mexico City. Ricardo knows the area like the back of his hand and was able to find viewpoints on a lot of the major sites that I never could have found on my own. Great insight on the history of the city and he was even able to provide me with recommendations for other great things to do during the rest of my stay. Clearly has a lot of love for his home city and he transmits it to others. Can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It’s a long day, so wear comfortable shoes, but if you are looking for a tour that covers all the highlights of this area of the city look no further!
