Extremely disappointed. This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We paid over $800 for a private tour and It’s the first time I am complaining annd will request a partial refund. Our tour guide stopped providing history/details after our first itinerary stop. He continually walked ahead of us and seemed more concerned with his phone, speaking to people he knew on the different stops, etc. We turned down two stops in the tour because we wanted the tour to end as quickly as possible because we felt we could see the sights better on our own. This experience was so poor that I have lost confidence in using Viator again and will no Longer recommend to friends and colleagues.

Itinerary
Fine Art Palace, a unique, eclectic architecture art deco, and Renaissance style, Carrara and Mexican marbles, an impressive Tiffany curtain, is the best cultural venue in the Historic Center of Mexico and a real jewel of the city.
Enjoy the world's 3rt largest square, surrounded by Mexico's most important political power buildings; National Palace, the City Hall, the Justice Palace, and the Cathedral. Zocalo is synonymous with the main square in Mexico. Finds the remains of the Azteca Empire at Templo Mayor. The Historical Center is the most extensive colonial city declared by UNESCO in America and called the Palaces' City in the XIX century.
The National Palace is the seat of the Federal Executive Power of Mexico; it houses the masterpieces of Diego Rivera, who painted in fresco the history of Mexico and Mesoamerica's cultures' richness.
The Templo Mayor or Great Temple of Mexico is an enclosure that includes a series of constructions, buildings, towers and a patio, the physical space where they were located, surrounded by a wall that had doors that gave access to the main roads from the city. Only panoramic view
The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary to the skies of Mexico City is the seat of the First Archdiocese of Mexico and is located on the north side of the Plaza de la Constitución in the Historic Center of Mexico City.
The National Autonomous University of Mexico is a Mexican public university and is the most important university in Latin America, considering its extensive academic and research work. The Campus is awe-inspiring and highlights its architecture and its integration into the environment. You will have a panoramic visit of one of the largest stone natural murals and the great work of Diego Rivera at the Olimpic Stadium. This visit is a panoramic one.
Walk Coyoacán in the mornings with a good coffee and feel the tranquility and magic of its environment; Walk it at noon or in the afternoon, and you will observe its artistic and popular colors, or re-visit it at night and enjoy its sounds, its music, the exclusivity of its corners, the charm of its streets, alleys and emblematic places, surrounded by colonial houses, cultural centers, restaurants, bookstores, galleries, and craft houses. Panoramic tour (time for photos in strategic locations)
The Azteca Stadium is a soccer stadium located in Mexico City, with a capacity for 87,000 spectators, thus being the largest in Mexico, the second in America and the seventh in the world. This visit is a panoramic one.
This neighborhood is like a town in southern Mexico City and gives way to Xochimilco's famous canals, the last remnants of an enormous transport system that the Aztecs built. You can take a promenade in colorful boats similar to the gondolas while pass browsing food vendors, artisans, and mariachis. The atmosphere is festive, especially at weekends.

This is a full day of exploring in Mexico City. There are several stops for walking, connected by bus trips. Our guide Sergio was full of interesting information and answered many questions along the way. We thought a high point was the canal boat trip. Dozens of boats , colorfully painted, bumping along into each other. Mariachi music blasting away.
The first part of the morning, walking to the Zocalo was good and the guide informative. The second part of the trip in an older van manual transmission was jerky and uncomfortable for a long journey to the Xochimilo. The trip on the boat was very disappointing, the food expensive and very poor. It was not worth $250 CDN.
The tour guide was noticeably less knowledgeable than others we had had during our trip to Mexico. While other guides even shared the interesting findings of their dissertations with us, this guide confused basic historical names and facts. We had initially booked the tour in Spanish, but agreed to take it in English since one of the people in our initial group of four did not speak the language. However, her English was almost unintelligible and it made for a very poor experience. Regarding the organization of the tour, the entire thing felt improvised and rushed. By the tour guide’s own admission, she had no knowledge of how many people were in the group, which led to her trying to leave one other person behind, and then actually leaving me and my husband behind at one point. She failed to communicate delays or give instructions. I had included a lunch fee with the initial booking, but she had no idea. I had to check the booking again just to make sure. By that point we were fed up and left the tour early and arranged for our own transportation back to the hotel. This tour stood out as the worst experience in the whole trip.
Our tour guide, Dante, and our driver were excellent hosts throughout the day. We explored the historic center of Mexico City and Coyoacan before heading to Xochimilco. There, we boarded a colorful trajinera, a flat bottom boat guided along the canals with a long pole. Shortly after, two additional trajineras pulled alongside ours to serve lunch and drinks. The lively congestion on the canals made the experience unforgettable. Trajineras packed with tourists, mariachis, vendors, and people dancing created a festive, high-energy atmosphere that made this tour even more memorable.
Great experience wonderful time. Loved our tour guide. We learned so much about the history and was a great story teller.
Excellent communication prior to the trip. Alan was a great guide. We were picked up at our hotel on time and started the walking portion in the historic area. Later we picked up additional guests to continue to the various sites on the tour. The canal boat ride was enjoyable with a tasty lunch. We chose to go midweek (rather than the weekend) when the amount of boats on the canal would not be too crowded. It was the right decision for us. A good day in CDMX!
Fascinating day. Wonderful guide! The guide made me want to spend many more days exploring the different neighborhoods.
Sergio is an excellent and knowledgeable guide. We got to walk through the city center and visit Tenochtitlán ruins, visit silversmiths, walk through a beautiful college campus, admire Frida Khalo's home (from outside) and neighborhood in Coyoacán and have a tasty meal aboard a boat in Xochimilco. Furby was an efficient and safe driver through it all. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to get an overview of the city, especially if it's your first visit. My one piece of advice is to have some decent cash on hand for one-off purchases (spices, cocktails, jewelry, crickets, and tips of course), though most vendors have POSes.
You sent a text confirming our pick up between 8 AM and 8:15 AM the next day which I confirmed. And then you promptly forgot about us. We waited over half an hour and I finally called and you sent Juan Castro and a van to pick us up and take us on the city tour. Juan Castro was terrific, but as usual many of the streets in Mexico were closed. Luckily, he was able to take us to some places on foot. However, we signed on for an English tour, and when it was time to go to the floating gardens, we were lumped in with Spanish speaking people, and so Juan was constantly having to explain things twice, which was frustrating. And the floating gardens was not at all how it was described. It’s a real tourist trap. The only consolation was that the food was good at lunch.
A fun experience learning about the historic sites of Tenochtitlan of the Aztecs, modern sites like cathedrals, a nice stop at a posh neighborhood like Coyoacan and then a ride and lunch on the floating gardens with Mariachi band. The guide was knowledgeable and gave us enough context to take in the sites!
This all-day group tour with lunch was worthwhile. Pick-up at the meeting point— Fiesta Americana Reforma was on time. Included a few pass-by landmarks and visits to Tenochtitlán, Zócalo, Metropolitan Cathedral, stop at a sterling silver jewelry store, Coyoacán (Frida Kahlo’s home, Coyoacán Square, Saint John the Baptist Church, Hildago Square), Olympic Stadium/National University Mexico, Aztec Stadium, and Xochimilco. Our tour team (driver Ricardo & guide Alan) were the consummate professionals. Being multi-lingual, Alan did a great job toggling from English to Español and the guests on this tour received his vast knowledge and funny disposition very well. The finale visit to Xochimilco was a bucket list item come true. The trajinera ride on the canal along with a hardy Mexican lunch paired with a Corona beer ended the all-day tour on a good note. Our driver Ricardo maneuvered the afternoon traffic back to our Polanco lodging like a champ. Learned a lot, specifically about Mexico City and it’s history and current events. Great all-day tour!
This is a must to get so much sightseeing within the city. Sammy was the best tour guide and did so well transitioning from speaking in English and Spanish. Going to Xochimilco was the best way to end the day, the lunch was delicious and well worth the price. Just be patient with traffic, it does take a bit to get around.
This tour was amazing. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Mexico and took us to places we otherwise would've never seen.
We had the best time! Our tour guide Sergio was AMAZING! He really made the experience special for us. The city tour was fun and informative and we stopped for lots of delicious snacks along the way. Sergio knows the best spots and also gave us so many recommendations for bars, restaurants and things to see. 10 outa 10!
Very informative about all the history and the boat ride was fun, super cool having lunch on the boat
City tour is ok. The xochimilco was worst. The lunch was not good not worth the money you paid for and boats were bumping into each other.I can recommend the city tour but not having lunch in the boat
First time in Xochimilco, My Sis, and me have a great time Viator are the best. You always try to do the best for us . I appreciated everything . Thanks a lot!!!
Ursula is an excellent tour guide, good English and knowledge of history. She makes sure everyone has a good time, highly recommended! The best part was the festive lunch on the boats in the canal, highlight of my trip to CDMX.
A fun filled day. We got to see a lot and our guide was one of the best. We loved it and highly recommend it!
The day trip was very nice and the guide friendly, but we did not enjoy the food on the boat. It was expensive and tasteless. So better skip that and just have a beer.
I had a really fun time on the tour of Mexico City and Xochimilco! The guide and driver, Jose and Rafael, were very sweet. Jose’s English was very good and he did a good job at explaining things and answering questions. Rafael impressed me with his driving skills. At Xochimilco, he backed the van into a very small spot like it was nothing. Still trying to figure out how he did that! Overall, it was a very nice day and I learned a lot. I also got some great souvenirs for my friends/family. I would recommend it to other travelers!
Victor was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. The driver was polite and skilled driving in the traffic. Loved Xochimilco & the Opera House
Would have preferred more time at Xochimilco and to not be pressured by jewellery seller which meant we missed things we wanted to see
Highly recommending this tour, the guide was exceptionally well informed, he answered all my questions with ease. we had a great time and will definitely come back to take more tours, keep up the good work!!!!
