"We recently joined Ernesto Camacho for a nighttime taco tour in Mexico City, and it was a fantastic experience. Ernesto was an excellent host—warm, welcoming, and fluent in English—which made the evening easy and enjoyable for our group of five from the States. His knowledge of tacos and local food culture really stood out, and every stop he chose offered something delicious and authentic. The taqueria staff treated us kindly, and we felt like we were experiencing the city as locals do. This tour was both fun and flavorful, and we highly recommend Ernesto and Bondabu to anyone looking for a memorable food adventure in Mexico City".

What an amazing your. I highly recommend to anyone who loves Mexico and the taco scene. The food we experienced was some of the best I've ever had, and our guide was the best.
This was very overpriced for what we got. The tacos and drinks were all delicious but maybe cost maximum $20 per person. I'm not sure where the other $150+ per person goes - we didn't get any stories or histories, and it didn't really feel like a tour.
Our taco tour with Pablo was a wonderful introduction to the local favorites on our first day in Mexico City! The evening exceeded our expectations and waistlines! The itinerary was just as described and food was abundant. We enjoyed learning about the food culture sprinkled with history and liked how Pablo individualized our preferences, making us very comfortable to try new dishes and drinks. It was an unforgettable and highly recommended experience. We hope to try another of Bondabu’s tours in the future.
Amazing Taco Tour our 1st night in Mexico City. Ernesto was our tour guide and the owner of the company so we definitely lucked out with having him as our tour guide! He took us to the famous Mexico City of Navarete where tacos originated in CDMX. We went to 4 famous spots and tasted a variety of tacos such as pastor, suadero, campenche, cows tounge, cheek and head!!! It was all amazing!! He also gave so much history on the neighborhood and how the tacos originated!! Ernesto is passionate and definitely made a connection with me and my wife! Definitely recommend this tour over others to get the full experience of CDMX tacos!!!!!! Thx Ernesto for giving us a great experience!! Rob & Chie
Tacos are not the same after this tour! If you want food cooked with love and history and to share a meal with friends, then look no further….actually don’t even consider other tours!! Ernesto is so warm and passionate about tacos, culture, and history that we truly enjoyed every second of this tour. Any tour guide you have through this company shares the same passion for Mexico City and the art of tacos! If you have the time and budget, book every single tour with this Bondabu to see CMDX from a local’s perspective. Don’t be afraid to try everything!! It was the most delicious food we had during our trip.
We did the street taco tour on our first evening in Mexico City. Our guides were great! 2 young men (one in training) that were so engaging and informative. Got picked up on time and headed to Narvarte for the tacos! They provided so much insight into life in Mexico City and what their lives are like. We had many questions and they happily answered all. We learned a lot! We went to 3 different taco places and tried different meats and tacos. Personally I couldn’t eat the beef tongue but my son happily ate mine as well. The food was delicious! Seeing what the neighborhood was like and watching all the goings on was so interesting. I’m so happy we did this tour to immerse ourselves on our first night. The last stop on the tour was for coffee and/or delicious dessert to end the meal. Picked up a bag of coffee there we enjoyed at our airbnb during our stay.
Best experience my wife and I had. Jorge took us to 4 different places and we ate really delicious food. I highly recommend this tour to everyone and this tour company as a whole.
Elisa and the tacos, of course! Even though it was raining, we ate to our hearts content!. Pastor, Campechano, chicharron. Yum!
We had a private tour with Francesca and it was amazing!! She is incredibly knowledgable about the history of Mexico City and shared so much interesting information with us. The taco tour was amazing - all the places we visited were delicious, and we felt like we were dining with the locals! I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to try authentic, local spots.
So much wonderful food! We loved trying tacos in the Navarte area of Mexico City (my boyfriend was especially thrilled to try tacos at El Vilsito, which was shown in an episode of "Taco Chronicles"). We had way more than enough food for dinner (& even had to pass on a 2nd taco at our last stop). Navarte may be more down to earth/not as hip as Roma/Condesa, but the tacos were definitely worth it.
We thought we loved mexican food but this tour proved we had no idea just how good it can be! The guide was very friendly and approachable, told us what to get in each taqueria and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Mexico City and interested in trying the best if its street food!
First of all our guide Mario was a very friendly affable chap. This is NOT a criticism of his efforts by any means but that of the design and value offered by this tour. My wife and I were quite underwhelmed by the experience (perhaps disappointed given the other gushing reviews). Firstly, the contact number provided was not reachable the entire evening. We were unfortunately running late and were frantically trying to contact someone without any luck. We were 10mins late in the end but thankfully Mario was waiting and was very nice about it. Secondly, we were not thrilled about the location. Appreciate that it's residential and supposed to be more authentic but we'd have preferred a more lively area with a bit more of a buzz. Also the choice of the four tacquerias were a bit one dimensional. May be I'm being unfair and they are all much of the same (which then questions the idea of a taco tour) but we expected a bit more of a differentiation. Finally, the value of money is pretty poor. I appreciate that it's not the food we pay for but the holistic experience and the guide's time and insights but we just felt it just wasn't worth it. Sorry.
My husband and I recently did the Street Taco Tour with Xavier, and it was amazing! The tacos were all fantastic, and places we never would have found otherwise. Xavier also gave us so much info on Mexican culture, architecture, shopping, etc. We got even more than we bargained for, and the tour just felt like we were hanging out with an old friend!
We took Bondabu's "Street Taco Episode" the first night of our visit to Mexico City, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Ernesto, our guide and the company's owner, is a world traveler himself, who has built a company on the kinds of tours he'd like to take himself - led by locals, off the beaten path, and informative. We visited 4 taquerias that we otherwise would never have known existed. ALL of them were amazing! We were so full by the third stop, but so excited to try the variety of tacos offered at each one. Ernesto taught us a lot about Mexican history, the origins of different kinds of tacos, and the unique role taquerias play in the local culture. Take this tour!
Bondabu was such a great experience, very authentic and well-planned. Our guide took us to 4 taco stands in Mexico City, and even though I was all over Eater and Culture Trip and all other types of blogs, I don't think I would have found these awesome taquerias on my own.
This was my second experience with this company. I did the street taco and it was a fantastic approach to local street food! I recommend this company to all travelers seeking for a unique local experience! Great food and great guide.
I had a lovely time hanging out with the guides, it was as if I was hanging out with friends I had known for a long time. I would recommend this tour if you want a more natural and intimate experience, rather than just being part of a large tourist group. I was lucky enough to be the only person on this tour, I am not sure if that is normal, but it was awesome! You will visit several local joints in the city, and try their specialty at each location. I would recommend this as a good introduction to the food scene in Mexico City.
Bondabu's tours were beyond my expectations. My family, husband and two teen boys traveled to Mexico City in February 2018. I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to post this review! After much research and email communication with Ernesto, I booked two tours with Bondabu before our trip. Merced Market and Mexican Wrestling/Taco Tour. After our first day, we booked a third tour - Hidden Neighborhoods for the next day. We have been to Mexico many times but this was the first time we really got to know Mexico and her history. Ernesto is an amazing extremely knowledgable historian. Camila is equally engaging. Both guides made us feel like we were old friends exploring the city they love and were absolutely welcoming. We explored neighborhoods we would never have known about, saw off the beaten track street art and ate the most delicious foods. My boys were throughly interested, they ate crickets and tiny shrimp, tasted a dozen different moles, and ate the best tacos of their life and they're still talking about these tacos! And cheered Mexican wrestlers in a packed arena. These tours offered a wonderful introduction to a truly colorful, rich city. I definitely recommend Ernesto and Bondabu!
Incredible experience!!! Perfect 👍🏼!!! Amazing experience!!! I recommend it!!!! With family and friends!!!!!
Thank you Bondabu for the tastiest experience of my life, and for making the turisno something new, friendly and personal. I recommend it to all curious travelers
Excellent is an adjective that falls short for what we live in this experience. The best tacos in the city and an excellent guide that made us feel like family.
Tasty, friendly and unique are the first goals when thinking about my tour with Bondabu. Nicolas took us to his favorite taquerias and delighted our palates. A thousand percent recommended.
A very tasty experience with great company. I recommend it to everyone who wants to try real street tacos. I recommend it!
