A really pleasant evening with Mariana where we made cocktails, guacamole and homemade tortillas. Met other guests which made it really sociable. We both left full and would certainly recommend. Need to make the venue address obvious as no signage for Aura.

Mariana was so attentive and a great teacher. She made the experience fun, educational, and very comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn about cultural foods and while having fun!
I love booking a cooking class in a new country to learn about culture through food and chatting with the instructor. I come away with a full belly and lot of memories. The instructor was really clear on her instruction and gave us each turn to make sure we understood the technique. I'll be incorporating them into my kitchen skill set.
We had such a wonderful time with Mariana and her team. Best way to spend our Thanksgiving dinner away from home with family! Food was delicious and we learned a lot of techniques of preparing different types of salsas and tacos! Everyone had to do something, even the kids and we all enjoyed every minute!
My daughter and I enjoyed this class! We were celebrating my birthday and our chef went above and beyond to make sure I had a good time. We made some amazing food: golden fried tacos, homemade tortillas and guacamole. We also made 2 cocktails that were yummy and I dont even drink alcohol!! It was amazing! Make sure you book this class!
Amazing range of Mexican dishes to try and learn about! All staff were wonderful and we lucked out with a great group of people to enjoy the experience with. Loved it!
Loved this experience! Very personal, fun, and tasty. We made two drinks, guacamole, and tortillas. Dessert was also provided.
We had our class with Chef Netzi and it was amazing. Making the guacamole and the corn tortillas was a lot of fun and they turned out really delicious. Chef Netzi and Dulce made us feel very comfortable and fed us until we were full. We learned so much about Mexican cuisine and culture, this was 100% worth it!
Such a great personable experience. The class was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend!!
Greatcexperience & delicious food!!! I enjoyed the cooking class and learned how to make Guacamole and fresh Tacos.
Chef Pame was a complete delight. Very knowledgeable, fun, and entertaining. We jot only learned a lot bit ate a ton of delicious food. Thank you Pamè! Jiny and Ryan :)
My husband and I had a wonderful time with Chef Pam! She not only taught us some unique cooking tips but also shared a wealth of knowledge on the history of Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere was welcoming, fun, and beautiful. Highly recommend!
I had a wonderful time with a few friends from different countries. Graciela is an amazing chef and a great host! She took us to the local market and explained everything about the different chiles, fruits and vegetables that are part of the Mexican cuisine. This was my second experience with Aura Cocina Mexicana. I highly recommend it!
Amazing! Wonderful! Uplifting! We were a group of 10 women who took the salsa class after a long morning of touring the historical center. Dragging ourselves to the front door of Aura, we were hesitant that we'd make it through the class because we were so tired. But as the door opened, and we were greeted by Graciela's amazing team, our energy increased at each touchpoint. Every detail of the class was executed perfectly, from a welcome sign with all our names, to small bags to hold our masks, to the meticulous set up of each of our cooking places. Graciela was not only super informative and knowledgeable about Mexican cuisine but elegant, gracious and inspirational. The class became a highlight of our trip to Mexico and one we are all carrying in our hearts. This class is much more than learning about salsas, the team at Aura takes their experience and passion to create an emotional connection to each person who enters their doors. Truly something very, very special!!
We did the Mexican Fiesta Class with Chef Lorena. It was our 4th or 5th class with her and it was as fun, educational and delicious as the others. My husband and I live in Alaska, My Daughter and DIL live in MA, Sister and nieces in N.C. and sister and partner in the UK. We have been doing these classes since February to get some time together during the pandemic and learn more about this cuisine that we love so much. We made Margaritas, Guacamole and Quesadillas! Lorena is an excellent teacher and a warm and loving person. Her individual attention, remembering us from all the times before, on top of her warmth and charm, made each experience really special. I could not recommend these classes and Lorena enough. We plan to do this together, with her, as long as there are classes to take. As a result, we are talking about planning a trip to Mexico City to cook with her in person. Do this, you will be glad you did.
Llama Los bomberos! The morning cooking class has it all! Market tour with samples of regional food along the way, visit to flour/corn tortilleria (tortilla shop), and, of course, hands on cooking with the one and only, Graciela. She is kind, witty, and knows her stuff! We learned and laughed our way to making 10 different delicious, traditional salsas of the course of 4 hours (including market tour). We learned techniques for roasting, peeling, and re-hydrating peppers and other veggies. Graciela is sensitive to different likings of spiciness and accommodated our group accordingly. After prepping all of the salsas Graciela’s sous chefs brought out an entire Mexican feast. We had carnitas, cochinita pibil, nopales (cooked cactus), eggs, and more. She taught us the pairings of salsas and various foods. To top it off, we enjoyed quality mezcal, local craft beer, and dessert. I left stuffed. Would highly recommend this class to anyone of any cooking skill level. You just need to love salsa and amazing Mexican food! Muchas Gracias Graciela!!
We loved our 3 hour class. Fun time, new skills learned and tasty communal meal at the end. Great introduction to mexican cuisine that can easily be transported home.
Loved the class and tour!!! Graciela is a gracious host and excellent teacher and makes a point to get to know everyone in the class. Highly recommend!
It definitely exceeded our expectations. You don’t only learn about dishes, recipes and ingredients. It’s way more than a cooking class. It is a cultural experience and Graciela, the chef, has the best energy. Her house is lovely and she is really passionate about what she does. This really makes the difference. It was a gift from me to a friend and we really couldn’t have asked for more! Do you really want to get a taste of México? Book it now! Alessandra
Not the easiest place to find due to street numbers not being in sequence but once inside a really friendly and personal welcome. The whole experience was a joy and I learnt a lot. Would highly recommend
I'd been looking for a (relatively) affordable salsa cooking class in Mexico for the whole month we were there and had almost given up until we found Aura. For $45 USD per person it's not cheap, but compared to the $85 USD we'd been seeing we decided it was worth and after going I can definitively say it was worth it. Graciela is very knowledgeable about all things Mexican food, from the history of the cuisine (which I loved hearing about) to the reasoning behind why we work with chiles in specific ways, and very helpful at answering all our questions. We had a lovely time, really enjoyed the tasting meal after, and I can say, with confidence, that I will be able to replicate these recipes at home.
Our class was extraordinary. The kitchen was delightful and it an awesome experience that affected all of the senses. Chef Graciela walked us through the history and art of Mexican cooking from pre-Colombian times. It was fascinating. We were taught about the ingredients, the methodology, and made delicious authentic food. The staff were warm and friendly, the classroom was beautiful, the chef charming and gracious. We will be back and I will be recommending this to all of our friends.
One of the best cooking classes I've taken in a while. It is worth knowing this school to improve its techniques in Mexican cuisine.
