Hot Air Balloon Ride & Tour In Teotihuacan + La Gruta

Amazing tour. I can’t Compare it to others. But I researched ALOT. And did notice most other tours did not have breakfast in the famous cave, instead the used alternatives. So book this tour. And many didn't have temple tour guide included. Or as an option. I booked it with a guide of the temples who was amazing, i suggest it. The balloon ride it self. Spectacular !! Try and pick a sunny day for the sunrise feel. But realistically, it might not matter to view the Pyramids themselves. It was amazing. And the tour was well run.

Absolutely loved it a definite must do. This was on my mexico city bucketlist and im so glad to have gone.

Hot air balloon was once in a lifetime. Better than pictures. La Gruta is beautiful, breakfast after the hot air balloon perfect. Our guide Gina was so knowledgeable and fun we truly enjoyed learning. Octavio our driver foe the day took amazing care of all

We had an amazing hot air balloon experience over Mexico City! The views were absolutely breathtaking and everything was organized from start to finish. A special thank you to our tour guide, Allen, who made the entire day even better. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and informed throughout the tour. His enthusiasm and attention to detail really stood out. If you’re thinking about booking this experience, I highly recommend it—and if you get Allen as your guide, you’re in great hands!

I went back and forth a little bit while researching the possible operators for doing a hot air balloon ride in Teotihuacan. I finally settled on booking with Enjoy Experience Mexico because I ended up seeing really good reviews for them on Airbnb, and they did the things that I wanted in a tour! I wanted to be there early enough to catch the sunrise, I wanted to experience eating in La Gruta, and I wanted to get a tour of the pyramids in the archeological area in Teotihuacan, without excessive tourist trap activities around it. That is exactly what I got. The tour was very well run from beginning to end. Pickup was smooth, and the tour guide for the archeological zone (Irvin) was so fun, knowledgeable, and friendly! He was having lots of fun interacting with the hot air balloon ride participants, even before the guided tour. The only note is, you should expect that they'll charge you extra if you want the photos + drone videos they took of you at the end of the experience. This is optional, of course, but this kind of thing always leaves a bad taste with an experience. Just go in expecting that this will be the case :)

From pickup , to drop off. They communicate very well. The whole experience was a 10/10. Our guide team were very informative and helpful. Definitely recommend ☺️

When we arrived at the hot air balloon site, we were welcomed with hot coffee and pastries—a thoughtful touch before the main event. The balloon ride itself was truly unforgettable—peaceful, breathtaking, and almost spiritual. The ascent was incredibly smooth, and the views over Teotihuacan were spectacular. Our captain kept things light and fun, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone on board. After a gentle landing, we celebrated with a champagne toast, which was the perfect way to cap off the flight. From there, we headed to breakfast at La Gruta, set inside a stunning volcanic cave. The setting alone is worth the visit, but the food, drinks, and service were equally outstanding. We then had a couple of hours to explore Teotihuacan. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and funny—we learned so much in a short amount of time. There was even time to climb the Pyramid of the Moon, which made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this  tour—it’s one you’ll remember forever.

Incredible experience! My girlfriend wanted to go, but I was really nervous about the safety. There were 5 designated safety personnel before and after the flight for our balloon alone. Peaceful ride and our captain was awesome. Morriz is an amazing camera man!!!!

It was the best experience! The staff was amazing, the ride was smooth, and it was beautiful! Maurice also gave us the best pictures!

Amazing experience, we had wine in the hot air balloon & an amazing time. It was all worth the price. Even though we had to wake up at 4:30, I’d do it again.

We were a bit nervous about our first hot air balloon experience, but it was so safe, fun, and smooth that we would gladly take another one. Afterwards, we went to a big breakfast in a cave that was pretty good and then our guide took us on a short walking tour of the temples. We were wishing for more information and a longer tour, but that’s on us to go back on a future trip.

Fantastic experience. The tour guide and drivers were very friendly and very helpful throughout. You start off with coffee/snacks after an early pickup. The ballooned itself was brilliant, with fantastic views of the pyramids and the other balloons followed by a great celebration drink and breakfast in a very scenic cave. The highlight for me was the tour around Teotihuacán though, as our tour guide was exceptional. He went out of his way to make the tour as informative and enjoyable as possible for everyone. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Smooth pick up and drop off, good arrangement for all the activities in this package. The balloon ride is spectacular, we were also lucky to have a nice weather too. The breakfast in the cave restaurant is interesting too, a special experience. Our guide for the pyramids are knowledgeable and friendly too. I would definitely recommend this tour.

One of the highlights of our trip to CDMX is to see the Teotihuacan pyramids on a sunrise balloon flight. Jeanie and Fabio picked us up in Condesa at 4:50AM. She explained the itinerary of the day. Jeanie's English is excellent and her bubbly personality made the entire experience so fun. We didn't know this but apparently we had one of the smaller balloons with 12 people. We met others in a balloon with 30 people. Much nicer to be in a smaller balloon. They took lots of photos and videos that you can purchase. The quality was very good so we did purchase them. After the balloon ride, we had breakfast in a local cave restaurant. Seems like most if not all the balloon operators go here. After breakfast, we were driven to the pyramids for a close up walking tour. Jeanie was our tour guide and she was excellent with her knowledge and her ability to keep everyone engaged. We all walked away having learned something new about this special area. We highly recommend this operation.

This was the highlight of the trip for me. The captain of our balloon was enthusiastic and friendly. All of the crew (takes a lot of teamwork to get a balloon aloft!) were friendly. Definitely take the tour. The added insight deepened my appreciation of the whole experience. And breakfast in a cave was actually quite cool! Wear a sweater or jacket to begin. I wore shorts and the initial chill was fine.

Highly recommended. Great experience from start to finish. Our driver arrived sharply on time, we waited about two cups of coffee and one bathroom visit long before taken to observe filling up of the ballon. Once in air there’s a drone camera following the balloons so remember to waive and smile (a copy would be available in the end for purchase) - I wish I knew beforehand cuz it would have freed me from taking my own subpar photos and focus on the observation. The breakfast was what it was - an experience. Don’t expect fine cuisine but it was in a cave and we were sat on barn tables and were able to mingle a bit with other tourists which was nice. After breakfast we were chauffeured to the anthropological zone (pyramids). I thoroughly enjoyed our informative and humorous guide - the stories and symbolism were what made it a walk through time, not the just the stones. Our driver waited for us the entire time and sent us to the hotel (or other points of interest if we wish so). I find the entire experience smooth and enjoyable, and they did stick to their time table.

Our host Ginny was fantastic! Such a lovely fun person and very knowledgeable! You can tell she switches her approach based on the needs of the guest which was great! Ginny also helped us find someone to do one final activity we had been hoping to do which was incredibly helpful and she followed it all the way to make sure it happened as planned and we had a good time. We were unlucky with the weather so didn’t get views but that’s the risk of this kind of activity. Only issue we had was Viator showing we could have pick up at our hotel but this didn’t match the tour operator approved pick ups. We managed a solution but definitely something to be fixed with aviator to avoid awkwardness.

The experience was amazing and the process was so seamless, 10/10 and our tour guide and driver were equally great. Only note is the experience says there's a tequila tasting after seeing the ruins but that wasn't something that was offered to us.

The views were amazing. It was so peaceful floating above the temple complex early in the morning with so many other hot air balloons adding to the view. Our guided tour of Teotihuacan was informative and personalized. Highly recommend booking with this group!

This was an incredible experience for myself, my husband, and our 14-year-old son who is deeply interested in history. We were cared for so well from pick-up at our AirBNB by our thoughtful and helpful driver to the air balloon ride to a delicious breakfast to the tour of the ruins with our exceptional guide. Our son was thrilled to learn from our guide, who had a degree in prehispanic Mesoamerican history and was a wealth of knowledge and wise perspective. The ruins themselves were astonishing. The entire experience made for a bucket list day that was well worth the splurge.

Decided to surprise my girlfriend with this experience and it was nothing short of incredible! Everything ran so smoothly, instructions were super clear and our driver Juan and guide Ginny were amazing! They were both so sweet and we felt immediately welcomed! Ginny gave us a private tour of the pyramids and it’s definitely the best guided tour I’ve ever had. She is very animated, breaks things down so that they are relatable and easy to follow and had answers to every single question we had. I highly recommend asking for both Ginny and Juan and know you will be in great hands!

Hermes was a knowledgeable tour guide and the tour was wonderful. Our group was small (just my friend and me) and we got an early start. As such, we beat the crowds for every stop and got back before 1p (very appreciated). We had a great time and I would recommend the tour. The only thing I would change would be skipping the last stop to see the restaurant in the cave; after a long day it wasn't worth the extra hour.

The Hot Air Balloon ride was breathtakingly beautiful. It’s a must when you come to Mexico City! Our Captain Constantino was so much fun. He made as all laugh. And ride was super smooth. We loved every moment of it. Our tour guide Hermes was amazing, he was so knowledgeable about the history of Mexico City and special our tour in Teotihuacan. We had a great time learning about the culture and impressed with everything that we saw. Thank you so much for treating well and giving us the best experience!

This tour was one of the best I have taken this year. Ever since Alejandro picked us up in the van, we knew we were going to be in good hands. Alejandro and Ginny (our guide) form a good team. The van was parked just outside and picked us up on our Airbnb. After picking everyone up, we went to the balloon center. The rest of the team were also respectful and helped make the process easy. After 45 minutes in the air with the excellent pilot Francisco, we went down for breakfast. We went to eat a typical breakfast as a group. Get ready for the spice! Haha lie, it was rich. Ginny started her tour in the temples of Teotihuacan. What a great tour and was very lively then everything I said was like dynamic stories about the history of the place. It was also very flexible and understandable. We had a child on our tour and Ginny thought a lot about the child and how to adapt the route and content so that it's okay for him too. We explored the caves as well in which it was well chevere to hear and see what lies beneath historical lands. We were the only group we saw that had helmets. We felt very protected and happy that we went with Enjoy Experience. To finish the tour, we were asked if we wanted to go somewhere else for lunch, drinks, or if we wanted to return to the city. As a group we decided we wanted to go to lunch and Ginny suggested a restaurant in a cave. It was a spectacular suggestion. It was an amazing experience with a very good team and crew. They made our first day in Mexico one to remember. Fully recommended!
