Good luck meeting your guide -there was none to be found! The museum is interesting about Frida's life and struggles, but I expected to see more of her art.

The Blue House is the intimate universe of Frida Kahlo. She spent most of her life here, first with her family and, years later, with Diego Rivera. Interesting national and foreign characters stayed in this place, attracted by the magnetism of both painters. Frida and Diego wanted to leave their house as a museum for the enjoyment of all Mexicans. On the painter's death, the couple's friend, the museographer and poet Carlos Pellicer, planned the museography. The administration was entrusted to the Trust of the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Museums, attached to the Bank of Mexico and established by Rivera himself in 1957. Since its inauguration in July 1958, the Blue House and its gardens have exhibited personal objects and paintings by both artists, popular art, pre-Columbian sculptures, photographs, documents, books and furniture that formed the environment in which Frida was inspired to to create.

Very easy and smooth. Well organized and well executed. We had a great time with visiting the Frida Kahlo Museum.
Easy to book. An excellent experience
Easy, and the house was so cool. I recommend it. Make sure to be there early though.
The museum was excellent. The experience with Trip Advisor, not so much. The tickets you sent us did not work at the museum entrance. We had to scramble to find the right ones when we arrived. It was stressful and confusing. Please do not email people “tickets” that are not the actual ticket. I’ll never book another excursion through Trip Advisor.
A fantastic experience. Highly recommend. There are a couple of 'Frida' Museums so check ypu have the correct address
Guide was very informative throughout the tour. Fluent in both English and Spanish. It was crowded but very interesting to learn about this artist.
Amazing experience. Beautiful house and neighbourhood. I also sketched a painting in her garden. They offer this for just 20 pesos and you take your drawing home with you.
The tickets were much more expensive than the original price, but I had no choice since I didn't book them in advance. I'm glad I went anyway because I had a great time at the Frida Kahlo Museum
Frida Kahlo house was excellent--gave a lot of information regarding her life and her works. Was easy to navigate, gardens were beautiful. There was an exhibit displaying her clothing which was nice to see as well. Viator charged over 3x the museum entrance fee but provided nothing extra. This was all self-guided.
The ticket purchased through Viator shows up in your email as "Frida Kahl Museum Entrance Tickets" with a bar code, and can be saved to Apple Wallet. However, as I learned at the museum entrance, this is just a voucher, not the actual tickets. The museum attendant had to spend time entering codes via my email to try to locate the actual tickets, which she eventually did, although I would not have been able to locate them on my own. I found this process unusually complicated and may have led to me not being able to enter the museum without the attendant's help. Although it worked out, just be extra careful if you purchase "tickets" through Viator.
Well worth a visit. There was more of her artwork on display than I had expected. The house and gardens are beautiful. The displays are well-organized. We didn't want to be part of a tour, and it seemed impossible to simply book tickets through the Casa Azul website, so booking through this "agent" was a good option.
Simple but tricky. Make sure you call the help desk to have the tickets sent to you. The first tickets you get in your email are not valid. You have to make a call to have the QR code sent to you. Zero issues. Friendly. Just a tad confusing at first. Great option for last minute bookings. (Obviously you pay for it but is what it is )
I bought this experience last minute and everything was just perfect. The customer service was great and fast when I reached out via WhatsApp. And we enjoyed Friday Kahlo
We went with our family of 5 and we loved it, they sent us the tickets on time and everything went smoothe, we loved the museum!!
Viator made the visit easy. And it was easy to book.updates were helpful.. The Friday Museum is a must see in Mexico City.
We didn’t get to see the museum as the the operator Viator cancelled our ticket as apparently the time I chose was already booked. We were not contacted at all to inform us the cancellation or to choose a different day/time. Coming from Canada with expectations of visiting Frida Kahol and being denied access with what I thought was our tickets as Trip Advisor sent an email the day prior stating it was was without a doubt extremely upsetting. When speaking with the operator at Viator he informed me that emails had been sent to notify me and I was credited the amount. Neither of which had happened. They did send and email later that day that I would be credited within 5 days. Very unsatisfactory!!!!
Be warned that they don’t give refunds. They do make that clear but I accidentally booked the wrong date. They told me that they’ll try to find another buyer and if they can, they’ll refund the amount. Surprisingly they were unable to. The tickets are usually sold out around a week out so I found it surprising they were unable to find another buyer and give me a refund. Just a a warning to double check the dates. And a hope that they’ll start offering refunds particularly if you are a week out from the event.
Loved the museum, the history, the story, wow what a nice experience!
I never did the tour. The museum would not admit me because the ticket sent to me by the tour operator, Pedalea Mexico, could not be scanned, meaning that the bar code on the ticket had probably already been used to admit someone else. The museum told me they would admit me if the operator sent me a scannable ticket, but the second ticket the operator sent me also could not be scanned. I received an email from Trip Advisor that the $44 cost of the ticket will be refunded to me at the request of the operator. But what happened is still totally unacceptable. I was hesitant to buy the ticket because I noticed in the comments that others had negative experiences getting a proper ticket from the operator. However, I went ahead with the purchase because it was the only option available at an acceptable price. Trip Advisor needs to reevaluate its relationship with the operator. I will also note that Coyoacan is a long distance from the center of Mexico City where I was staying, and it takes a long time to get there. The day of the tour was my last full day in Mexico City, and I would have spent it much closer to where I was staying had I known I would not be able to go to the museum.
We loved visiting Frida and Diego’s home. A beautiful experience. You MUST buy your tickets ahead of the time! Viator made it simple.
Viator experience chosen was for a museum guide- cancelled it - kept tickets for 1:30 pm - never received 20% refund promised, no audio guide to download, subsequent communication was tickets were for 1 pm- they were not - 1:30pm was correct time. Viator in Mexico has been unreliable 2/2 experiences-
Awful experience with viator. We only came to Mexico City to see the works of Frida Kahlo and visiting her house was to be the heart of it. When we got to the house and showed them the ticket they refused us entry saying the ticket was not valid and we’d probably been scammed. I tried phoning the number at viator to get help but I kept getting a recording saying I couldn’t be put through. We pleaded with the security and they looked through all the emails but just wouldn’t accept the ticket I had in my apple wallet. We were totally gutted.
I arrived having paid £133 for my 4 tickets and they weren’t valid. I was completely conned and was never sent tickets from this operator. Book direct with the museum. Furious, was the be the highlight of our trip.
The booking process was easy, and they stager times so crowds don't accumulate. This was such a magical experience
Tickets for the museum as advertised. Easy and good communication. Remember to ask for the entry ticket in pdf. The TripAdvisor scan is not your ticket.
This house is a wonderful visit. It was so interesting to learn more about Frida Kahlo and her life. And the house itself is fascinating. But tibia hard to get tickets at short notice so book esrly
Booking through Viator is confusing. I booked a 11:30 appointment, Viator sent me an email saying they made a mistake and needed my family to go at 12:00. It was nice that they offered to refund my money, but I declined and opted for the noon time appointment. Viator then sent me three emails telling me to show up at 11:30. Museum was amazing, glad we went. Glad Viator was able to book my family into such a beautiful place. Viator can do better.
Great visit to Casa Azu! The guide provides hard to get tickets. Make time to explore the surrounding neighborhood.
Given the difficulty getting tickets closer to travel dates, this is a great option. It delivers what it says - tickets to the museum. The Frida Kahlo museum is great and I’d say you don’t really need a guide, there are signs in English. Would recommend this if you can’t get tickets through the official website!
Gives a good insight into the life of Frida Khalo. I would however recommend you to read up about her life before going to the house to be able to understand her story.
The tickets retrieval is a bit tricky, but talking over them on the phone they send the ticket via whats app. It gets us in the museum. Musem is really worth the visit.
I was not able to get regular tickets to the Frida kahlo home due to traveling last minute. This was a good option.
Tickets received promptly on the date and time requested, with no fuss and clear instructions, Highly recommend
Great museum with incredible history and artwork. Highly recommend. You just need to text the contact number via WhatsApp to get the digital ticket.
Great experience. Gives you a real feel for the artist, her struggles and triumphs. Docents are very helpful. Well organized.
Make sure you download your tix (blue with QR code). I received a message my tour time changed (just 15 min) and didn’t realize the email/text also had tix attached. I assumed the voucher was the tix so we freaked out a little and called viator who were extremely helpful and sent us tix within minutes which by then I had figured out i never saw attachments - my bad. It all worked out and the tour is very cool. I came 25 yrs before and they’ve done a great job with the tour over time except it’s much busier but very organized.
Very good tour and interesting stories about the artists. I enjoyed sitting in the garden after the tour. Great place for instagram pictures!
Not sure what’s up with the bad reviews — which made me a little nervous. But our tour was perfect, we didn’t have to wait in any line, and Candy (our guide) did a fabulous job! Gracias!
Definitely worth going to. The museum is well laid out and the gardens are serene. We went on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy. The groups are well spaced over 15 minute intervals. Loved it and highly recommend.
Pedalea was quickly responsive to my questions via WhatsApp when there was an issue with initial link and ticket link was empty. I would use them in the future. That being said, it’s a bit confusing thru TripAdvisor since you get a voucher that is NOT the ticket, then too many notifications that make it hard to find the correct info.
Very lovely view of art and replicated mementos of Frida and her beloved family. A nice experience and the grounds are kept very well.
It moved my wife to tears! Had heard because the museum (her actual home) was lacking her paintings it could be a let down. It was not.
After reading about questionable ticketing websites, I was a little nervous about buying tickets for the Frida Kahlo Museum. I thought there might be a chance it was a scam, but I was relieved to find everything went incredibly smoothly. Communication was clear and reassuring from the beginning, and our tickets were delivered right on time. The highlight was definitely our guide-very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable and informative. The museum itself is beautiful, rich with history and atmosphere, and definitely worth the visit. We had originally hoped to make it to the Diego Rivera Museum as well, but unfortunately, it’s located too far away to fit into the same trip. Still, the Frida Kahlo Museum was more than worth it, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mexico City.
Don't buy this. These are resell tickets. They ask three times the original price. Book via the official site of the museum. The museum itself is pretty good but save yourself some money please.
on august 28/2025, we arrived 30 minutes late due to Mexico City heavy traffic. we were not allowed to enter because we purchased the tickets thru trip advisor and not directly on their own website. if we did, they would have allow us to enter .. very disappointing as we tried to purchase tickets on the museum website and they did not have any tickets available until September 2025 .
We took a quick cab ride from our hotel in Roma Norte. The museum is easy to find and there are long lines waiting outside. We easily connected with our tour coordinator who organized our entrance. The tour guide "Candy", was excellent. Well informed, friendly and very efficient. The tour took approximately an hour and 15 minutes and we had plenty of time to look around the gardens, take pictures and enjoy the courtyard before heading back to our hotel. Easy to connect to WiFi to coordinate travel. Would recommend visiting on your trip to Mexico City.
Incredible experience. Rúben was a special person, who help me a lot. I realy recomend the experience.
The ticket would not download. I was unable to show the ticket to the ticket office. I was unable to get into the museum. There were no other available times for me to attend the museum. I paid $88 for two people and was unable to use these tickets
Frida Kahlo museum was very informative and interesting. Would definitely recommend this experience to others.
