This was a self guided tour. The tour operator sent us the tickets the day before. Communication and instructions were timely and informative. I highly recommend booking this tour ahead of time. It sells out fast. Overall this was a great experience.

Reviews
Frida Kahlo was an inspirational woman, a trail blazer and an amazing artist The exhibits at the museum and the whole setting of the blue house and manicured garden around was an exquisite experience Anahuacalli showed the love and respect Diego Rivera had for prehispanic culture Learned a lot about this amazing couple and this amazing ancient culture
The Diego Rivera museum was a surprise find, and the Ziggurat building full of preHispanic findings was amazing, set in a beautiful forest of a variety of trees. The journey from that museum to the Frida Kahlo Blue House was also surprisingly long. Bit we had plenty oof time for a lovely lunch close to the Casa Azul before making our way to the short queue. The house and gardens were simply a delight and the photos and dresses especially poignant. We then added on a short walk to Casa and Museo Trotsky, who was closely associated with Rivera and Kahlo, living with them for 2 years before moving round the corner to Vienna where he met his death after 15 months there.
A very personal experience, more so than I had expected .
Well worth the visit!!! l am glad my tickets were honored unlike other providers !
What a sham. One month before my plan visit they changed the time. I asked them simply what is the cancellation policy and how long I have before the tickets to cancel if I wanted to. They then sent me an email saying the ticket is canceled. I wasn’t sure if it was a robot or a person doing this, but this is not how to handle a ticket agency Horrible experience
Great experience! Booking through Viator was very easy and convenient. Tickets were already sold out on the Frida Kahlo Museum’s official website, but I was able to find and purchase them through Viator. The reservation process was simple and everything worked perfectly. I was very happy to be able to visit the museum despite the official tickets being sold out. I definitely recommend checking Viator if you can’t find tickets directly.
Museum was amazing but they did not want to refund the extra tickets they charged me.
Worst customer service I’ve experienced maybe ever. Never got into the museum. The woman almost seemed pleased to not help me. After arguing with her for 20 minutes and asking tickets to be resent she informed me that it was too late to enter. Terrible experience. Will be requesting a refund. Stay away.
Beautiful historical home to the Kahlo Family. Great information and her display of dresses is breathtaking.
Great all the way around! Very good value and communication.
This tour company saved the day when another canceled us at last minute on Frida Azul House tickets. Highly recommend as they quickly text your ticket link to you with actual tickets. The Frida museum was wonderful!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I was not let in for being more than 15 minutes late, the traffic was crazy. The museum nor Viator wanted to do anything to help. 100$ USD wasted, they wanted me to purchase new tickets!!!!!! Spend another 100$ USD!!!!!
Very good experience, beautiful place
I like this visit. The guide is friendly.
Wonderful experience. There was art making for kids in the garden that we'll never forget. My 4-year-old didn't want to leave!
I booked through Tiqets.com via Amigo Tours. I purchased two tickets for Aug 6 at 16:30 for the Frida Kahlo museum in Mexico City. I payed at 12:15 day of. My tickets were not processed until 15:45. It is a 45 minute car ride from where we’re staying to the museum. Why would I go to wait at the museum with no tickets confirmed ? I called and emailed multiple times and they still did not send the tickets earlier. Hilariously the support through Tiquets told me my tickets wouldn’t arrive for 24 hours, 5 hours before the tour. So I payed $60 USD for nothing. This service works. But only if you book 24 hours in advance. Do not book same day. If I could give zero stars I would, as I had zero experience.
The house is a must visit. Save time to relax in the garden.
I will never use amigo tours & HelloTickets ever again. My family and I purchased tickets to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum while we were in Mexico City. We selected a specific date because we were only in town for a limited time. When we arrived after taking an Uber nearly an hour to Coyoacán, we were told at the entrance that our tickets were actually for the following day—the day we were flying home. We never intended to book that date, and it made our tickets completely unusable. We paid for transportation to and from the museum only to be turned away at the door, and our family missed the opportunity to visit one of the main attractions we had planned our trip around. We had previously tried purchasing through another ticket provider, and when tickets for our preferred date were unavailable, they refunded us. In contrast, HelloTickets processed our order for a different date that did not work for us. After this happened, I found numerous posts on Reddit and Facebook from other customers describing similar experiences involving unexpected date changes. HelloTickets refused to resolve our issue, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. Based on what happened to our family, I cannot recommend this company. We lost $232 dollars. Extremely disappointed and upset, ruined our trip experience and they basically stole our money. I will definitely make a social media post to the 20 million followers I have on my socials. In both languages since I am bilingual!. So other people don’t get scammed like we did.
Loved the Frida Kahlo Casa Azul, was a highlight in Mexico City for us! However, we didn't visit the other museum and didn't get an audio guide.
It is a wonderful, very emotional experience. A must do in Mexico City.
It was such a great time, my daughter is 11 and she enjoyed it very much since she had a lesson about her and she enjoyed visiting her home! Frida was very resilient and strong. An admirable artist!
Frida's house was amazing to see in person. Loved the video and all of the pictures and artifacts. The garden was amazing. Even a café. No complaints
I loved the whole museum and especially the story it told. I feel like I learned a lot about Frida’s life which helps me better understand her art. I truly appreciate how they deeply cared for each other with Diego.
This tour is a good hack if you’re like me and didn’t book Frida Kahlo Museum tickets in advance. However, the tickets are much more expensive than retail, and the customer service is pretty poor. I bought my tickets the night before, and didn’t have them even an hour before the start of when I was supposed to go. I tried texting and calling multiple times with no response. Finally, someone texted me the tickets just in time for me to go. The experience was unnecessarily stressful. Just send the tickets on time or have someone handling customer service!
Overpriced in comparison with local ticket prices. Almost double to triple the price and they are just selling the tickets. There was no tour and no one from Amigo Tours showed up.
I made 2 different reservations. 1 I did in May and you honored the other one for 6 people you divided first to change my times to 4:30pm and then cancel it. That confirmation number is : 1753979405 booking reference: 1371186691. This is unacceptable specially when I planned the reservation since April. I am coming from another country to enjoy and this happens. Plus the museum told me that you guys Viator and Amigos tour do the same thing all the time.
The tickets arrived on time and were legit. No issues with the tour company. They were super responsive and helpful. Worked out perfectly as we had not booked in time for Casa Azul and they were sold out for the time we were visiting. Buying through Amigo Tours allowed us to see Frida’s home and it was an amazing experience.
Now for a first time visitor, absolutely go to these two museums and also the Casa Roja and Museo de Culturas Populares, also in Coyoacan. A spectacular neighborhood for just walking around, having good coffee, having good ice cream, visiting the park, and spending a whole day.. and do not miss going to the market. If, like me, you go to Mexico City often, you can probably skip the.Casa Azul if you have been in the last five years.
The garden is beautiful, and you get to see some of the rooms as they were for example the kitchen, her bedrooms and the study. But you should know in advance that it’s only some of their unfinished paintings there
she is one of the greatest artist of the 20th century! But unless you have a truly exceptional child, and not all children are exceptional, your kids are going to be bored to death there. If you have small children, please don't bring them here. If your children are acting up or close to any of the artwork exhibits, the cards will tell you to leave. It's not a place for your children to run around and do whatever they want! They can't touch anything, and they need to remain respectful and not yell and scream. By acting as though you gave birth to the second coming of the Lord, the rest of the people there were truly there to examine our art and learn about her have a diminished experience after paying quite a lot of money for the tickets. Bring your children to a waterpark and not to this place! Wait until they are adults and they can go there themselves and enjoy the experience.
It was a great experience. We highly recommend it. Especially if you wait until last minute to buy an entrance ticket.
I learned so much about the culture and city , the tour was amazing highly recommended and well worth the piece
I went to the place and the ticket I was sent was not a real ticket. I could not get in. It was too late to purchase new tickets.
Great experience!! Learning and seeing Fridas life was amazing
We paid 149.00 sterling for Frida K as it was sold out . Sent tickets promptly from the touring company Amigo tours HOWEVER we were told 5 pm entry only to discover tickets were for 4:15 entry and even tho we were there early we were told those tickets had been sold. We tried calling the company to no avail. Fortunately there was a tour guide from Amigos actually there who calmly helped us through contacting the company directly . Although we were eventually issued tickets it wasn’t until 5:16 pm that we entered the museum which meant we had less than 45 minutes as the museum closed at 6 pm. Really stressful altogether and very disappointing all round experience -that was only partly redressed through getting to see the magnificent Frida Kahlo museum . Wouldn’t do this again never mind paying double the amount.
Not to miss! The tour was informative and an intimate look into Freda’s life and her love of Diego Rivera. Don’t miss the separate building with her dresses and more!
Do not book this activity with Amigo Tours! I booked this activity in January, two months ahead of schedule and they had more than enough time to secure our tickets. Two days before the activity, we got a message that they could not get us into Casa Azul and wanted to have us go to Casa Roja instead. We are so disappointed we won’t get to go now. We are waiting for a refund.
Everything went as described. Our tickets were sent the night before, we had to wait very little before going in, and we loved the visit.
We had a very hard time retrieving the tickets for the museum. Also, the Anahuacalli Museum tickets were not included, so we couldn't get in. We brought this up to Viator and received poor customer service.
Such an amazing place. The story of her life is such an inspiration. She pushed through and created amazing art
Beautiful place, wonderful experience. Definitely go to both. Lots of amazing history, architecture. Casa Azul is crowded which was expected but not unpleasantly so. Timed tickets, make sure you are on time.
This is scam.. we purchased the tickets 2 hours prior to the start time. We are in line for the museum and they tell us we don’t have “official tickets, to reach out to the agency we booked with” we contacted them through the phone number provided, no one answered. We contacted Viator directly, after 10 minutes of back and forth they mentioned “they oversold tickets and do not have any tickets available at this time” it was extremely inconvenient as we drove down half an hour away from our hotel to see this museum. They were sold out for the rest of the day…
If you are a fan of Frida Kahlo or of women artists don’t miss this! One of the best artist displays I’ve ever visited. Also the neighborhood is a great place to spend an afternoon!
Tickets were bought four weeks before but Viator cancelled the tickets one week before the museum visit. I rebooked the tickets and again, viator cancelled the tickets. Again I bought tickets. The email process to retrieve the tickets was not only complicated but confusing and also had so many steps to have the tickets to show that we almost missed the event time. Do yourself a favor and find another site
We had a great experience...easy to book and plenty of timely communication. However, the couple we traveled with booked through the same app, and their tickets were cancelled three days before the event...so be aware of the risk.
After being told we could not have tickets for the date/time we had paid for, Amigos surprisingly sent an email at 1 am with our tickets! Too bad I had spent 1/2 the nite securing other tickets but I updated the score since they did pull thru with tickets in the end thought we requested a refund since we’d already book. We’ll see now if that happens. Still get a 0 for poor communication and cancelling tickets last minute.
Top notch! Inspirational on every level. A must see in Mexico City. If you do nothing else…do this!!!
The museum was by far the most expensive thing I did in CDMX and at the same time it was the smallest and least interesting. If you like seeing how someone lived their live with a little bit of artwork, you'll enjoy it. There are so many other activities in the city that are a fraction of the cost. This museum, if you walked VERY SLOW, took maybe an hour. Compare this to other museums that were $0-5 and took hours to go through. In summary if you really want to know how Frido Kalo lived, go. Otherwise skip. As far as the tour provider...it seems like providers buy up the tickets you have to spend an extra $10-15 instead of being able to buy it directly from the museum itself.
The house is absolutely amazing. A must see if you visit Mexico City. Every room hold treasures that will make your visit remarkable.
