Such a great way to see the Centro Historico, perfect for my kids (ages 6 and 9) and the adults! We were able to do exactly what we were interested in, moving at our own pace which was awesome. Would highly recommend, and would book again in a heartbeat.

Mar was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Very flexible about where and when we stopped to eat. All of the stops served great food in a variety of atmospheres
Great experience with Arturo as our tour guide. Great tour guide!
I booked the food and historic walking tour with Dani and my family member and I were delighted by the experience! Dani was so responsive and helpful in the logistics, and on the tour was informative, friendly, and fun. We had a great mix of history, current events, architecture, and contemporary life in Mexico city along with delicious tacos and sweets. The tour was perfect for covering a lot of ground, and I'd highly recommend as an activity early on in your Mexico city visit to help orient you to the city, its historical context, and other sights. Dani gave lots of great advice for the rest of our trip. I would highly recommend the tour -- it is a great value! (As an aside, the Mexico a pie folks were so helpful and accommodating of a last minute change of plans and booking, which I appreciated.)
Oscar was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful as we saw sooo much. Fantastic! Thank you for the day.
Daniela was a wonderful guide and customized the day to meet our needs. She was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed the taco and sweets stops. Exactly what I was looking for - historical context and food!
Daniela was so knowledgeable and easy to spend the hours with regardless of the topic. The tour was a wonderful introduction to central Mexico and one that will provide us with a way to better appreciate all that we are seeing.
Emiliano was exceptional and could answer all of our questions. Thank you! We had access to all venues. Food chosen for us was excellent.
The guide (Daniela) was very knowledgeable. We saw the major sites in the historic area & sampled some great food, including an Oaxacan restaurant, a stand with blue corn quesadillas & the town's most popular bakery. I highly recommend this tour!
Daniela was AMAZING! She did such a good job navigating our big group of 13 that included senior citizens and little kids. Her knowledge is extensive and the stops were wonderful- the food, in particular was finger licking good!
Daniela was awesome. Rich knowledge of history and legends. Very adaptable to our interests. We learned and saw a lot.
Andres was so knowledgeable and friendly. Made part of my experience in the city extra especial, I took the walking tour in Spanish but English is also available. Mexico City is beautiful, safe and clean.
My partner and I did the History Colors and Tequila Downtown tour with Andres in early November. Andres is an AWESOME guide and the experience was one of the best things we did during our week long trip. He does an amazing job of tying historical references to current culture in Mexico. We learned so much about the Mexican people and he took us of the beaten path to sites we would have never found without him. We cannot wait to come back to CDMX and do more tours with Mexico a Pie !!!
Monica was our guide, very Knowledgeable, Professional Guide. We went around the old downtown area of Mexico City, pointed to us the important structures & their importance or meaning wherein regular tourist will miss. Of course learned the difference between Mezcal & Tequila. Highly recommended tour when you visit Mexico City...
We really recommend it! A 3h tour with clear explanations, interactive with a touch of Mexican humour! :-) thanks Emiliano
A fantastic tour of mexico city with a very knowledgeable guide. I would recommend anyone who is around to try it for themselves
We took this tour on August, it was very fun Adriana was our guide , she make it very interesting for my 12 year boy . Great experience
Having planned a trip to Mexico a year in advance, we were so excited to find an airline that could get us to our destination in one day! We had been travelling to Mexico from Montana for about 25 years and it always seemed to take us 2 days. A month before our trip, we learned that the flight schedule had changed and we would be spending the night in Mexico City! We heard it was one of the largest cities in the world and, coming from a small town in Montana, we were a bit intimidated. Rather than stay in a hotel by the airport, we decided to be adventurous so began researching tours. What a treasure when we discovered Mexico a Pie on Travelocity!!! Adres promptly responded to everyone of our email questions within the day of our sending them. He was at the airport to pick us up and drove us to our hotel to check in before beginning the tour. Our tour guide, Adrianna was waiting for us at the hotel when we arrived. After quickly dropping off our luggage we began our tour of the Zocalo area. Adrianna customized the tour to our interest in history, art and local customs. Given her degree in history, knowledge of the area and good grasp of the English language, we couldn't have asked for a better guide. We were out for at least four hours seeing as much as we could before having a wonderful dinner with Adrianna at a local restaurant and calling it a day. The only problem is that we just wished we had a couple more days in Mexico City. We will go back and are sure to hire Mexico a Pie for another adventure.
Mexico a pie tours are a must if you are visiting Mexico City. I joined the free walking tour it was amazing and it lasted about 2.5 hours. Out guide Julio was a cool guy we had lots of fun with him. He knew a lot and also presented all the information in entertaining way. I definitely recommend Mexico a pie!!!
Daniela was a magnificent guide. It's a shame the other guys don't give tours in Spanish (looking at you, purple shirts). But Mexico a Pie delivered. AND we got little souvenirs at the end. It was informative and fun. ¡Gracias, Daniela!
Two of us from Oregon and our two relatives from Indiana all really enjoyed our walking tour in English with our guide Julio, who was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We visited the Plaza Santo Domingo before heading to look at the ruins of Templo Mayor. Next up was a tour of the Cathedral, where we spent about 90 minutes listening to an explanation of the murals of Diego Rivera that were fascinating and worthy of college credit! From there we made a quick stop at a Mexican candy store built in 1870 before stopping for tacos guisados for lunch at a really wonderful restaurant. Our final points of interest for the day were the post office Palace, the exterior of the Palace of the Belles Arts, Chinatown and a Mercado, We ended our tour at an arts and crafts market — and we did all that in just a few hours!
Just a superb highlights real tour of the historical center of Mexico. Cannot recommend highly enough
I'd recommend this tour to anyone going to Mexico City for the first time. You go through the historic district and learn a lot about the city's history.
Beautiful walk, super recommended, we spent a beautiful morning touring the most emblematic places and learning the history of each one
Excellent tour of the historic center and guide by Brenda. Good choice to know details of the Zocalo and its surroundings.
In Mexico, colonial times range from the discovery of the American continent in 1542, when Spain had absolute control of the now Mexican Republic, to the Independence of Mexico in the early 19th century. This type of architecture focuses mainly on religious buildings, due to the need of the Spanish to evangelize the so-called New Spain. It is a delight that you can make your own "discovery of Colonial Mexico", Use your senses as tools and let yourself go on that wonderful journey.
We met on the side of the Cathedral with the umbrella people and those who would do the walking tour. They divided us into two, those who did it in English and those in Spanish. We were Elizabeth's guide. Very good guide her. Very precise and with a lot of knowledge of the Zocalo. We walked for 2 hours through the Historic Center of Mexico City 🇲🇽. Everything turned out very well and we were entertained and learned a lot about what makes up the Historic Center. Very nice everything, well looked after. We really liked it and loved it too.
Our guide was Elizabeth and was great all the way, historical data and tips to visit other sites in the city and enjoy Mexican gastronomy!
A couple of months ago I had the opportunity to enjoy a walking tour of the Zocalo. The truth is that I was very surprised by the number of foreigners walking around. The walk is very nice. There are many dining options around the Zocalo and the best part is that the other tourist attractions are located just a short distance away from there. (Palace of Fine Arts, etc.)
Very recommended to know the most important of the historical center. Elisabeth our guide, was showing us Cathedral, Grand Temple and other important buildings without abuse and well predisposed for questions. And it's free, except for the slit.
We did the tour with Elizabeth a very special girl who clearly knows the history of Mexico and especially the whole historic center of Mexico City. The tour of the Cathedral, Zócalo, Templo Mayor, Madero Street, Palacio Postal and Fine Arts gives you an overview of the history of this capital.
The great advantage of a tour of the city center and Mexico, is that you do not suffer for transport because with an expert guide you can use both public transport, metro and metrobus, as well as the bicycle on interesting routes and full of places worth visiting. Zocalo, the navel of Mexico, "The navel of the moon" (meaning of Mexico). Currently used for multiple artistic expressions, concerts and popular events and shows at all times and almost without warning. It is still very worth visiting and walking around. To the north you can see the magnificent Metropolitan Central Cathedral, to the south are the buildings that house the powers of Mexico City, to the east we have the portals of merchants where we find all the jewelry that you want with all the expression of goldsmith of the whole country and even of import, and to the west we have the National Palace headquarters of the Executive Power in the person of the president of the Nation. The National Palace by itself is worth the walk that would mean a tour of the center, is full of things worth seeing, has museums, relics, objects, gardens, buildings. Permanent and temporary exhibitions of relevant art shows.
The tour was excellent, with relevant information and very well conducted by Brenda. The tour goes from the pre-Hispanic period to the 20th century.
Our guide was Elizabet and it was very nice and very interesting, all places very well explained and with a lot of history. We really enjoyed the tour. We recommend it 100%. It is the best way to know a city and its history is walking
One of the highlights of this walking tour of downtown Mexico City is that it is totally free. The guide of my tour besides being very friendly, I had complete knowledge of the places we visited, as well as the doubts that arose in the group, which was in Spanish and very small, we were only three people. 100% recommended!
Excellent tour! The guide (Elizabeth) very well prepared and attentive. A very pleasant and educational way to get to know the historic center of the City
We really enjoyed the Mexican walking tour, the guide we were assigned fantastic! He took us through the main tourist spots of the city explaining in a clear and enjoyable way the whole route. Worth trying
