Excellent driver and guide Ernesto and joaquing were fabulous but my big complaine is that the bus has a broken ac and it nake it really difficult to be in the bus. I’m disappointed. With that

Alexa was really good and funny. Love her passion about the history of the town. The overall trip was great but the restaurant in Puebla city were the tour offers the optional lunch is overprice for was they offer.
Explanation of the culture and architecture was good. But coordination can be improved.location and timings should be shared in common easier communication way.if a person gets lost proper guidance should be there .
Mariana did a great job discussing the history, culture and legend of Cholula. The sights were beautiful In addition Mariana did both English and Spanish translation to acomódate all of us
I am very satisfied with amigos tour or Tripadvisor and Angel /Lorenzo they was good especially Angel he was patient with us telling the history. Thank you
This was a long day but a great day! Alicia was a wonderful guide--the perfect balance of information and free time. We were given plenty of time in each spot and never felt rushed. Our driver Fernando was great too! Thank you for a terrific day!?
Our day trip to Puebla and Cholula was great! The colourful colonial architecture, incredible mole poblano, and the Great Pyramid of Cholula made for an unforgettable day. A huge thank you to our guide Alvaro, whose deep knowledge of the history and culture brought every site to life — his storytelling made the trip truly special. And to our driver Gib, thank you for getting us around safely and smoothly all day! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the region.
Excellent! Great experience with the help of Rene our tour guide and driver Pedro..Thank you so much
To preface, I will say that Barbara is an amazing guide. She was very helpful, attentive, and gave a lot of knowledge. This is a VERY long day. You’ll start at the Amigo Tours hostel where you’ll depart to Cholula. For us, this drive took 4 hours. There were a lot of road blocks, traffic jams, and my god does no one know how to merge lanes. Additionally, the drive to/from Mexico City will be the bumpiest ride of our life. No pothole will be left un-driven over. In Cholula, there is an optional steep walk up to the church, but it’s voluntary. From there, we go to another little church about 15 minutes away, then go to Puebla. We arrived in Puebla around 3 PM, which is when lunch was had. We had about 2-2.5 hours of free time to walk around and do whatever you please. Puebla is a big city, but the downtown area is very navigable and there’s lots of opportunities for shopping, eating, and exploring. We departed Puebla to go back to CDMX, and luckily the drive only took about 2.5 hours this time - so depending on the day, YMMV. Also important to note - bring a portable charger. None of the outlets in the bus work. If given the option again, I probably would’ve just spent the day exploring more of Mexico City than going to Puebla. It wasn’t a must see for me, but for some it may be. It’s all up to the person.
A great tour to some very interesting places near Mexico City. A very serious road accident closed the road for a couple of hours but the guide and driver kindly extended the tour so we didn’t miss out. Great customer service.
Mariana, our guide was excellent. Informative, fun, and kind. It was one of the best tours ever. Puebla is a must see. Absolutely beautiful
This tour was so good. Max our tour guide was great and informative, he made sure we were all near him for the tour and made sure we were all comfortable. Puebla was an amazing town to visit with so much history. I would highly recommend.
This tour is a great way to explore places outside Mexico city. The tour begins at the meet up point in the city where we get on a minibus. Pro tip, get early to sit anywhere except the last row of seats to avoid getting your organs misplaced like a Lego piece!! The guide introduced themselves along with the driver. One thing they didnt account or plan for is contingency which in our case was traffic jam and road blocks along the highway, which added additional time of about an hour & half to get to destination. The flip side was lack of acknowledgement of this while we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. At one point one of us had to ask for a bio break as it had been 2.5hrs since we started by then with the destination no where in sight. Only upon inquiring did they stop for a break and told us about road blocks. Throughout the trip the guide went on in spanish first and then in English, which left like getting a summarized version in English. She was good about Q&A. The thing that felt like the biggest scam is the so called traditional market in Peublo and the restaurant they had tie up with. We felt we were taken advantage of at the restaurant. For vegetarians or vegans, the options are better at the city center but the walking tour was cut short because of traffic jam onroute and were rushed through the city tour and only stopped for lunch at about 2:30pm, which agains points to no planning for contingencies. Also there has to be better ways to share certain pick up or meet up points, rather than make us walk to it. This has to be communicated so people can make better decisions. Overall the tour itself takes you beautiful places and talks about the history. The last straw was the guide attitude when my friend and I requested to move our seats as we had been sitting in the last row getting thrown off like a sack of rice especially after lunch and drive was going to be back to Mexico City and who knows how long the traffic was going take us! The guide said there are not enough seats even though there were (we needed 2) when we asked for her help, she was like you have to talk to other passengers- offering no help or assistance!
We arrived at the meeting point to be advised it was cancelled with no explanation and told to contact Viator... Not a good experience
Good experiences. Everyone was very happy and engaged coherently with the tour guide who was explaining everything in detail.
It was excellent, very well organized and it was a 10 people tour so it was great. They gave us earphones to listen the guide (english and spanish) and he knew everything he was talking about. Make sure to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats/unbrella, and wear confy shoes because is a lot of walking of course. We did a a stop on the way there to the restroom and also on the way back, so it was very thoughtful.
It was a great experience. Amigos Travel was great. Great guides and friendly service. The bus was very clean too.
While it's a long day, the visit to Cholula and Puebla was well worth the time. It gives you a chance to see some Unesco World Heritage areas including the Puebla Cathedral and the Church of Our Sister of Remedies (Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de los Remedios). We enjoyed the chance for a one day trip out of Mexico City to experience another city nearby and some beautiful attractions including the volcanoes in the distance.
This was a delightful and historically informative trip that offered great context for understanding the art and architecture of Cholula and Puebla. Ara, the guide, was well informed and spoke wonderful idiomatic English and Spanish, moving seamlessly between the two languages to accommodate more guests. The food in Puebla was worth reserving and it was overall a pleasant experiment.
I booked this tour through Viator for February 23, 2026. On that date, multiple regions in central Mexico were experiencing serious security incidents, including cartel-related road blockades and highway disruptions. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico issued a Security Alert (Update 4) advising U.S. citizens in affected regions to shelter in place due to ongoing security concerns. Given those conditions, I made the responsible decision not to travel. Despite the documented security situation and embassy guidance, this tour operator refused to issue a refund and insisted the tour was still “able to operate.” Expecting tourists to ignore government safety warnings or risk losing their money is extremely troubling. What makes this even more disappointing is that the booking was made through Viator, a platform that promotes trusted and safe travel experiences. Situations like this raise serious questions about how safety issues are handled when travelers rely on the platform. With major international travel coming to Mexico for events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, travelers should carefully consider which operators they book with and how those companies respond during real safety incidents. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend researching alternative tour platforms such as GetYourGuide or booking with operators that demonstrate a stronger commitment to traveler safety and responsible customer service. Travelers should never be put in a position where they must choose between personal safety and losing their money.
There were nice churches to see. Puebla old town is beautiful. Unfortunately due to traffic we didn't get any extra time to explore it more. It is a long drive between places. I'd rather just go to Puebla on a day trip. Guide was very informative.
This was a great intro to Puebla. Ara was a very friendly guide who ensured we all enjoyed the tour. Her stories and history of the Cholula pyramid and the Mexican Baroque Church kept us entertained. Then the lunch and walking tour in Puebla was also interesting. The only complaint was the van wasn’t comfortable, as we felt every bump. The driver thought he was driving a race car on the winding mountain section, especially on the way back to Mexico City. Highly recommend Ara as a guide as she answered our many questions.
I got late and was on my way to reach the tour, the tour guide said he cannot wait for for extra 14 mins, they had 8.10 am as the start time and tolerance for 10 more mins, I told him I am already on my way and in the cab, he said no. i asked him to reschedule, he said no for that also, when i asked for refund, he said no for that also. Surely a terrible experience. I have been with so many tours before and have see tour guide waiting for them for 20 to 30 mins.
“Se vale la pena”, yes this is totally worth experiencing. Jonathan/Juan moved effortlessly between Spanish and English to provide a wonderful learning experience for all. The lunch was delicious.
Hector did a fantastic job. The best part of the tour was the visit to the church of Tonaltongo. Shane there is not enough time dedicated to Cholula so you can visit the church and the archeological site.
Our guide Hector was very informative and the tour itself was great. ( PS, adding text because this site requires a mandatory length)
Hector was fantastic!! He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this trip with Amigo tours and hope you get Hector as the guide Chris Bentley Chicago USA
We booked this tour through Trip Advisor with Trekzy, and received a confirmation number and reference number. However, when we arrived to the pickup point they informed us that they didn’t have our reservation and the tour was sold out. We were lucky that some people didn’t show up, so we were finally able to go on the tour, although we had to pay for it again. I tried contacting Trezky but I still haven’t received a response from them.
The whole tour was excellent. From the time spent at each place, the transfers, the level of transportation, and above all the guide. Alicia filled us with history and recommendations that were super!. Thanks Amigo Tours
Alicia was a great guide and very kind, we learned a lot and she gave us a lot of information about the places we visited.
The tour was very good. Alicia the guide is excellent 👌
Alicia is an excellent guide! We spent a beautiful day. Her explanations were very thorough
Ask the guide, if you don't ask they won't tell you, like which colonial streets to visit in Puebla that you can walk in your free time, not just shops
It is a very good tour, and the guide Alfonso was very kind and explained everything about the places we visited.
Alexa and the tour in general was excellent, Alexa knows very well the history of each place, explains and we had a great time. Danilo our driver was very respectful and careful at all times, super recommended!!
Excellent trip. Alexa/Daniel
Great service and magnificent guide Alexa and driver Daniel
Excellent service. Pedro was very attentive and attentive to everything, always friendly, knowledgeable and willing for everyone.
We went to Cholula and Puebla with Jona, and the day before to San Miguel de Allende with Ara and Jona. They were excellent guides, very nice, teaching us the most important of each destination in an agile and entertaining way. We highly recommend these tours.
The places you visit are very nice and interesting, it is a recommended excursion. The shame was, the guide who accompanied us... He talked fast, through a microphone and we had the headphones, but still, it was hard to follow him, since he didn’t take anything into account, he walked (at his own pace no matter if the group followed him), he talks looking at his forehead as he walks, not looking at the group and this makes you not know what he is referring to with the explanation. Besides, the explanations were scant.
Our tour was amazing, Jonathan was our guide and we loved it! He has a great knowledge of all the places we visited and gave us really invaluable recommendations. All the sites were wonderful, we felt very comfortable and the food of the Fonda was delicious. Very comfortable trip on the bus and excellent driver. Beautiful places Cholula and Puebla!! Recommended 100%
Magic experience: comfortable bus, small group. The guide René explained us about the places. Both Cholula and Puebla deserve to be visited. The church of Santa Maria Tonanzintla is a beautiful mix of culture, sorry not to be able to take pictures. Wonderful walk! It should have about 30 minutes more in Puebla and should include the San Francisco Church of Acatepec.
Highly recommended. With our guide René, the day was very complete, with very precise explanations and interesting tips.
Very well organized excursion that gives time to visit Puebla and the other two sites included in the tour. There are guided moments, others free and time to eat calmly. The guide Alvaro was by no means one of the best I have ever met (and I have done many excursions in several countries), as he is very prepared and professional, at the same time fun and knows how to handle the group very well. All right, so is driver Lorenzo.
They are punctual, warm, friendly, knowledgeable, highly recommended. Very good guide JAvier, answering the concerns. Good balance in the program.
It was a nice day, I learned a lot and both churches on the way to Puebla were more than worth seeing. Puebla is a beautiful city and Jonah was a good guide who always told everything in both languages.
It was a great experience and a very pleasant tour to Cholula and Puebla. I should also mention the quality of the Tourist Guide who was in charge of the group. His name is Álvaro and he was very noted for his experience and professionalism in exercising his work. My lady and I had an excellent day with the group and with the accompaniment of Álvaro.
I recommend this tour at 100%! Alvaro is the best guide. It was an interesting and fun day with a nice group. Also the restaurant do for lunch was very good.
Very nice places visited, adjusted to the schedule and the food was good. On the market there are many things to see very nice
The guide Álvaro Dávila and Federico were wonderful throughout. I highly recommend it. Food and all the stops
