The tour for both locations was absolutely incredible because of Alex Gonzalez. He was patient answering questions and giving out details to artifacts and pieces of art that we may overlook on our own and catered our experience to what we really wanted to know of Mexico’s history. There is so much to see and learn but he did a wonderful job in the couple of hours that we had him on the tour. The cost of this adventure is such a good deal especially if you have the chance of getting paired up with Alex. He really knows his history and minute details of historical figures and events and his personality and jokes make it all that much better. 10/10 adventure and tour!

Itinerary
Over the course of 2.5 hours, your guide takes you on an informative journey through the exhibits, showing you only the most impressive sites. Marvel at the Aztec Stone of the Sun, and the Olmec carved heads, uncovered deep in the jungles of Tabasco and Veracruz. Learn about the different cultural regions and indigenous groups that gave rise to this diverse capital city.
The Chapultepec forest is an urban park located in the Miguel Hidalgo mayor's office, in Mexico City. It is the largest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere, with an area of 810 hectares.
At Chapultepec Park, the largest city park in the world. Climb to the top of Chapultepec Hill and reach Chapultepec Castle (Castillo de Chapultepec). You'll be able to explore the 12 halls of the 18th-century castle and enjoy the rooms and exhibits. During your 2-hour tour, learn about Chapultepec’s origins as a retreat for Aztec rulers before it was partially destroyed and rebuilt into the home of Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg. It then served as the residence for Mexico’s presidents before most of the castle was converted into the National History Museum. The exhibits trace the country’s history, from the pre-Columbian era through Spanish colonialism, to Mexico’s revolution and its independence. Admire the state carriages of Benito Juárez and Emperor Maximilian, and learn the stories behind the sculptures and busts of historical figures. See the sword wielded by independence fighter José María Morelos and gaze at murals of battles painted by famous artists.

David was an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging tour guide during our visits to the National Museum of Anthropology and Chapultepec Castle. He shared fascinating historical facts, cultural insights, and stories that really brought Mexico’s rich history to life. His expertise was evident throughout the tour, and he explained everything in a way that was both informative and easy to understand. I highly recommend David to anyone looking for an unforgettable and educational experience in Mexico City!
We loved the Museum, but the castle is worth the trip up the hill. The views are breathtaking!! The whole castle is! A must see! Our guide Fernando was very knowledgeable and nice.
Let me tell you… This tour to this impressive museum was incredible and thank to the amazing Antonio our tour guide made the experience even better, he was so knowledgeable, entertaining and diligent, the museum it’s very lucky to have someone like Antonio. I have never been to a more interesting museum, thank you Mexico and Antonio!!!
Leonardo was so knowledgeable. Went at an excellent place and we left understanding the history from Aztec to modern day. It was amazing!
Lily was the best. Her knowledge and explanation of the past and present was impressive. I learned a lot and will definitely recommend this tour to others. Thanks you Lily!!!
Lily was incredible. Honestly one of the best tour guides I have ever had. She thoughtfully prepared our tour and cycled us through the museum in a very well thought out manner. She is extremely knowledgeable about Mexican history and it was incredible to be a part of her tour. I would recommend her to anyone.
Highly recommend this tour. Our local guide was Leonardo. Very knowledgeable in the history of Mexico. Great easy to understand explanations. Good pace. Covered a lot in amount of time we had. Didn’t feel rushed. Convenient meeting point. Good size group (I think 10 total) very manageable.
It was everything I wanted to learn, regarding the history of- from the Aztecs & Mayans to the Spaniards & more! A true learning experience
We toured the anthropology museum first followed by the castle nearby. Our tour guide, Poncho, was incredible and patient and kind and spoke great English. The museum is huge and Poncho really highlighted the most important things and made the tour memorable and feasible in that short amount of time. I loved the mother of mothers! The castle is fabulous and Poncho gave such a great framework and history for us to understand the significance of the castle to Mexico. 10/10!

We enjoyed our tour of the anthropology museum and the castle with Alicia as our guide
Our guide Leonardo was very knowledgeable and passionate. He made the tour very engaging, despite we knew it would be information overload.
Loved it, tour went through a a lot of the museum and it was a small enough group where it felt intimate. Miriam was a great tour guide .
Our tour guide, Ms Alice was very courteous and obviously very knowledgeable. Her description & facts related to the ancient culture & civilization of Mexico were very interesting although we would have liked to spend more time in other parts of the museum to glean greater knowledge of their ancient civilization. All in all, a very informative experience. Ms Alice conducted the Castle tour quite proficiently and guided us through the Castle's interesting history but we found the castle itself rather underwhelming after our tour of the great palaces & forts of Indian Maharajas, Sultans & the Nizam of Hydrabad, not to forget our visit to the Hapsburg's Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna. The entire tour lasted about 3.5 hours & the group consisted of about 8 persons.
Alexa was so knowledgeable and very fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend to anyone
Just enjoyed a sensational tour with the best tour guide, Jorge! His intimate knowledge of the history of Mexico which he shared, combined with the exceptional sites of the Museum of Anthropology and Chapultepec Castle provided us with what was easily one of the best tours we have ever taken! Would highly recommend and a "must do"! We learned so much, it left us hungry for more! Thank you Jorge, just spectacular!
This tour is great we got to see the museum and castle on the same day. Alicia our guide was fantastic, patient and very knowledgeable. I would recommend hiring a guide because both places are huge and would be lost without a guide.
We were the first ones at the site, i could not find the guide, i called the emergency contact number multiple times and nobody answered, i used the app to contact them and when they did reply they said the tour had started 10 mins ago and i could not join the geoup anymore. I purchased my tickets again their on site and asked if i could join the geoup, again they said no, i asked if i could get the tickets to go in to the castle and they said no, i asked if i could join the group at the castle and again they said no. It was the worse experience ever. I did book another tour with a different company and they sent a WhatsApp with the location and a photo of the tour guide. that was great. This, this is a waste and i feel i got robbed. Do not book with them.
Had a great experience with Fernando. Quite knowledgeable and personable. The tour started exactly where they said they will be and on time.
Alex was the absolute best guide I’ve ever had. He truly knows his stuff around the museum and speaks with passion. I love when you can truly see someone enjoying their work. The museum was so cool to see and the artifacts were amazing. The castle was a bit of a walk but so worth it. Highly recommend.
My husband and I went on this tour with David and I highly recommend it. The anthropology museum is HUGE and having David there to explain the artifacts and history of Mesoamerica made it more digestible and also meaningful. I highly recommend this tour. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes!
Hector was a fantastic guide! We learned SO much on this tour. A great experience e
Leonardo was our guide. He was deeply knowledgeable and engaging about all aspects of both museums. He could answer any questions asked of him. He wove a story about the history, culture, civilizations and customs we saw. I wish all guides were as talented! Thank you Leonardo!
Excellent tour and very knowedgeable guide.
Alicia was amazing! So knowledgeable and pleasant! Definitely recommend her! Fantastic tour!!! Museum is so interesting and the castle is stunning! Well worth the money.
Alicia, as a tour guide, did a great job. She was extremely knowledgeable and you could tell she was very passionate about telling the history of Mexico. May daughters relay that she was very kind, patient, was very detailed in her descriptions and explained it in a way that they could understand
Alex was amazing as our guide, he is very knowledgable about the history of the museum and castle and has a good sense of humor. I was comfortable throughout and enjoyed my solo outing with our group. I recommend this to anyone planning to visit the museum and castle.
The tour actually went the other way around - we met up and spent about 3+ hours at the Museum, walked across the park, and then went through the castle. Our guide was informative and efficient getting us through the highlights of the expansive museum (while still more than happy to do a deep dive on any particular piece or answer any questions), and was clearly very passionate about the history he was taking us through. He also seemed to have firsthand experience with many of the archeological sites from where the exhibits were sourced, and was immediately ready to say whether pieces were originals or recreations. The museum is incredibly impressive. Then we walked through the park and climbed the hill up to the castle, where we went through the murals and exhibits and took in the excellent views of the city. Be prepared to approach this with some stamina: it was 5+ hours of being on your feet nearly constantly and you will certainly get some serious steps in, but it is very much worth it. It's a really good way to make sure you get the most out of a visit to what is likely the most famous museum in the city without needing to spend 1-2 days seeing every last piece, and the castle is just beautiful with some interesting art, artifacts, and history as well. Highly recommend.
Leonardo was amazing! He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and told us about historical facts that were not on any of the museum plaques. Would very much recommend this tour!
Our guide, Israel Mendoza, did the impossible. He shared the highlights of the Anthropology Museum with a group of people from various countries in a way that distilled the immense amount of information available at the museum in a way that was understandable and dare I say entertaining. No small feat for a museum that covers several millennia. The greatest gift he left us with was a curiosity to learn more about the long, rich history, culture and achievements of mesoamerica.
Terrible que on sundays ... The actual tour is not 5h but 3h ... Also is fake that is an early access tour ... Look at the ques at the photos The guide was good but I think the experience on Sunday is terrible ... They decline 50% refund that I requested
Our tour guide, Gorge, was amazing! I honestly never understood the appeal of booking a guide for a museum until this experience, but Gorge completely changed my mind. As a first-generation Mexican American who grew up in the U.S., the way he explained Mexico’s history and culture genuinely moved me. I grew up with my Mexican grandmother, so I was exposed to parts of my culture, but this experience gave me a much deeper appreciation and understanding of it. I found myself completely fascinated by everything he shared. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience, and Gorge officially convinced me that a great guide can completely transform a museum visit. I’ll definitely be booking guides from now on! The admission fee was about $75 for both the Museo Nacional de Antropología and Chapultepec Castle, including a roughly five-hour guided tour. Since I went on a Sunday, when Mexican citizens and residents receive free admission, it was definitely crowded and lively, but personally, I didn’t mind it at all. 10/10 would do all over again!
Leonardo was a great guide. He gave very detailed explanations and history of the items we saw in both locations. I learned a lot thanks to Leonardo.
My husband and I took a private tour with Gerson. It was great to have such an experienced and enthusiastic tour guide. We learned a lot about Mexico’s history from prehispanic times up through the revolution. It’s a lot to cover in just a few hours, but he did a great job condensing the highlights.
I did the English tour of the Anthropology Museum and the Chapultepec Castle with Leonardo. Such an excellent visit! Leonardo’s knowledge and pace were just right for these 2 incredible museums. Definitely recommend.
Highly recommend booking a tour to do the museum and castle! There is a lot of context you can’t get otherwise, and the museum is large enough to need multiple days! Most of all, book with Alicia- she is extremely knowledgeable, funny, and overall was very engaging- kept us hooked for the full 4hrs!
We had a fantastic experience with our guide Leonardo. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about México’s history. His knowledge and ability to explain cultural details made our experiences at the Chapultepec Castle and Anthropology Museum feel very immersive. The tour length was just right and covered historical highlights. The tour price was well worth the knowledge we gained. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes because you will be on your feet for the majority of the tour.
Outstanding tour with Jorge who besides being so knowledgeable provided lots of insight to Mexican history and mythology. Fabulous museum that is a must see destination when in Mexico City
This guided tour was very fun and educational. Our tour guide Jonathan was clearly interested and knowledgeable about the history and the exhibits. The tour started around 9 am and ended around 1 pm. I do wish there was about a 1 hour time in between so we can rest a little and eat a proper lunch, but the tour itself was not fast-paced and very interesting and manageable. I would say not having time to eat and not a lot of time in-between to sit down was the biggest downside. Also, you are not allowed to bring drinks, food, or selfie sticks into these exhibits (among some other items).
Jonathan is very knowledgeable about the history and the main pieces of focus in the Museum and castle for a half day tour. Jonathan held an easy pace and breaks were given at the right times. He also made the tour and facts fun to learn. I recommend this tour.
Jorge was an excellent guide for the museum and castle tour. He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much from him. He took into consideration that some of our group could not walk long distances Best guide ever!
We learned so much from our guide! He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the history being shown in the museum. The only downside was we did not get to explore the whole museum, however, it would truly take days to see everything. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting CDMX for the first time.
Poncho was so passionate and kind! This was our very first tour to start our trip and it really set the tone but also gave us background that was important for the rest of our tours. I’d 100% recommend starting with this tour and if you get Poncho, even better!
David Gobwr was an incredible tour guide! I did the Museo de Antropología and Chapultepec tour with him, and I cannot recommend him enough. This is not my first time visiting Mexico City, and I’ve done several tours here before, but I genuinely learned more on this tour than I have on all of my previous tours combined. David is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and he explained everything in a way that was detailed but still very easy to understand. What really made the experience stand out was how animated and passionate he was about the history and the subjects we were discussing. You can tell he truly knows and cares about what he is teaching, and that enthusiasm made the entire tour so engaging. If you’re visiting Mexico City and want to really understand the history and significance of the Museo de Antropología and Chapultepec, I highly recommend booking a tour with David. He was fantastic!
Joge (George) was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of fascinating information with us. He is clearly very proud of Mexican history and culture, which made the tour especially engaging. It was great to visit both the museum and the castle in about five hours. Since there is limited English information available inside the museum and castle, I definitely think having a guide is worthwhile to understand the highlights and historical context. After the guided portion, you can also spend some extra time exploring the castle on your own. The former royal residence is beautiful, and the surrounding park is lovely as well. Overall, a very informative and enjoyable experience! I would suggest the tour guide bring a flag so it’s easier to find. There were a lot of tourists waiting outside of the museum and it was hard to identify which is our tour
Excellent , was worth it . Got lot of history and ancient beliefs and rituals .
I think the guide (Jorge) was informative but at time got lost in too many irrelevant details. His time management was efficient. It was surprising that he was borderline rude to some people who were not part of our group and were listening to his guided tour. Also with some of the group he was a bit rude when he needed to wait for them or repeat instructions.
Overall, a great experience. Definitely along tour, but very much worth it. You learn a lot about the history of Mexico with Beautiful scenery. My tour guide, Leonardo was amazing & super attentive ! Would definitely recommend! 10/10
Burson really kept things moving through a lot of Mexican history at both the museum and the palace. It was definitely the way to go!
