Juan Carlos was an amazing tour guide! It’s evident he’s passionate and very much enjoys sharing history and culture with others. We had a wonderful time learning about the architecture and history of these studios.

Itinerary
This museum safeguards the legacy of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in the space where they lived and created part of their work. Designed by Frida’s architect and close friend, Juan O’Gorman, this set of two houses joined by a bridge symbolizes the independence of both artists and their unbreakable connection. The functionalist architecture, with its austere style and full of natural light, reflects the essence of the artistic movement of the time. Inside, Frida’s house retains some of her personal items, decorative details that evoke her essence and an intimate atmosphere that allows her to imagine her day to day. Although smaller than Diego’s, its space reflects his character and artistic sensibility. Diego’s larger house with a large collection of pre-Hispanic art also houses his studio, where you can still see his sketches, brushes and work tools. This attraction allows you access to the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio House.

Great tour and so much knowledge !!!
Great experience!! Very knowledgeable and informative. Also in time and willing to take photos of you.
Great guide! Very complete, allowed us to really get a great understanding of the building and the historical context
Our tour was cancelled day before due to private event in the museum. I had some discussion with the company to get just tickets without tour and initially was refused. At the end they agreed to give us just museum tickets but we were surprised at the end to have a guide Alex, he could not get in the building with us but we had amazing tour with him, he told us the story of the house, Friday and Diego and we really enjoyed it even standing outside the building. After that all we saw made sense. I would rate the guide very high but the company not that high
Vale was the perfect tour guide. Her knowledge of the history and context was so insightful. Having seen photos of the buildings with the bridge between their two studios, it was a special treat to visit and experience them in person.
We definitely got value-added from having a guide at the Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo. Valerie gave us basics about the architecture, filled us in on the artists’ lives and relationships (lots of drama), and knowledgeably answered our random questions.
We had an enjoyable experience at the Rivera-Kahlo studio house. Our guide Roman is knowledgeable and personable. It was interesting to learn about the lives of the two artists and the two houses connected by a bridge walkway. We also learned about the artist/architect O'Gorman who built the home.
The guide was super kind and very good at explaining the history of the building. He was also super nice and available if we had doubts or we needed help after the visit.
a small museum but an important experience - very intimate and you feel close to both Diego and Frida
Sofi was an excellent guide - wonderful knowledge, and great communication! The three houses work so well together and seeing the collections in Diego‘s house was really amazing!
Great tour, great communication with meeting details, but the best part was our guide Leonor. She spoke English very well and was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Diego and Frida’s lives.
Our tour guide was Armine Perales who enthusiastically told us about the history of the property and about the life of Diego and Frida. She brought to life their relationship with plenty of anecdotes and pointed out curiosities within the property that we should notice. An enjoyable way to spend a morning in Mexico City.
Our tickets to the Blue House were canceled so we booked this tour. Great experience. Learned a lot--our guides were friendly, open to questions and knowledgeable.
We liked the content of the tour - unfortunately our guide did not speak great English which made things hard to understand
Mauricio was a great historian. The way he delivered the tour was informative, captivating and easy to follow. He had additional resources with him to share. Thank you for the experience.
Professionally well done, excellent guide, very informative! Rivera’s studio was the best part. We highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Roman was insightful and knowledgeable about the history and the stories behind the architect, the buildings themselves and the people who lived here. Roman also suggested other places in CDMX to see the work of the architect and artists which helped guide the rest of our trip!
Fascinating look at the Archetectural history of the buildings that housed Diego Rivera and Frieda Kahlo studios.
Our tour guide was nice and informative. However, I was truly disappointed that we were only able to enter Diego’s home and not Frida due to an on going exhibit.
Our guide, Leonor, was exceptionally informative. I’ve visited the studio and the Casa Azul several times and I learned new information about Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. The fact that our guide has studied art added to our experience.
More than meets the eye. Takes you back to another era and learned so much more about the artistic couple!
Our guide Roman was exceptional with sharing his deep knowledge about the house and area. Highly recommend the tour for English speakers!!!
Roman is a great guide with broad knowledge and very good English. We were extremely happy. Roman has a very pleasant way with people. Thank you so much .
Román was a gracious and knowledgeable guide. Even as a group of architects familiar with the buildings, we learned so much from him about the artist/architect O’Gorman. We were disappointed that a huge ofrenda in O’ Gorman’s studio filled the room so we couldn’t really experience the space. Other Day of the Dead decorations were mixed in with Rivera’s incredible collection of Judases and other treasures. This contributed to the squeeze of visitors and confused new visitors as to what were artifacts.
Roman was a fantastic guide- he was passionate, knowledgeable and really engaged. Fantastic English too.
Leonor was well versed and very knowledgeable throughout the duration of our tour. She was able to paint an excellent picture of the lives of Frieda and Diego! Her attention to detail was impeccable.
She was a wonderful guide person very informative. Provide us a lot of information about the Rivera and Freda thank you.
10/10 experience. Our guide, Ivan, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the history and context surrounding the buildings, the architectural-style, and the residents digestible and engaging. Highly recommend!
Our guide showed up more than 15 minutes late. Then he proceeded to let us know that there was no running water, so bathrooms were closed and that we would not be able to enter Frida’s house. When I told him afterwards he or the company should have informed me, he made some lame excuse about just finding out. I didn’t believe him, since he mentioned he had given a tour 4 days ago and they were vacating the stuff from her house then. We were a group of 8 people and found the tour to be extremely disappointing. Rodrigo also did not seem that informed and was the least engaging of all the guides we had while visiting the city. We must have gone on 5 different tours and wish we didn’t book this one. Save your money and just buy tickets at the counter the day of, if you decide to visit. It’s not worth the extra money to wait for your late guide and then be informed that half the reason you paid to visit is closed and bathrooms are down the street. I’m going to see if we can get our money back, because Viator took our money and didn’t keep us informed about the closure when they reached out the day before to confirm the tour. We rushed to make it on time and were so disappointed.
Our guide Angel was great! He was so friendly and knowledgeable & his English was very good! We learned so much about architecture, their relationship and history of Mexico during this time.
Cynthia was incredible. She made the experience very memorable. Cynthia was very funny and knowledgeable which made the experience feel very personal. Truly one of the most memorable parts of our trip.
Isaac was an awesome tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Amazing tour!!
We enjoyed our tour very much, Our guide, Yannick, was very friendly, articulate and knowledgeable. He provided us with a very pleasant and meaningful experience.
It is imperative that you get a guide. You will value the site, information and experience tenfold. My tour guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. He knew his stuff.
We did a tour with Cinthya Trici, such a sweet and intelligent person. We got to know about the architecture, the architect and all the possible theories of how Frida’s and Rivera’s relationship with him was, suuuper interesting!
House was very cool. Worth a visit. Cynthia was very knowledgeable and went through each part of the house with stories that were great for both adults and kids. She also pointed us in a direction in the neighborhood to experience Mexican crafts and art, going above and beyond.
Great, informative tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. Cinthya engaged my daughter (13 YO) and was able to keep her interested for the entire time.
The tour was amazing, definitely recommend! Our tour guide Ivan had knowledge on all the context you could want and more:) the three buildings are great to see and with a guide it’s much more exciting
Our tour was great! Daniel was very knowledgeable and passionate. He shared so much interesting history and context. We had a good time touring the home and studios and would definitely recommend.
Daniel was an outstanding guide for our visit to the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio House. His deep knowledge of both artists, the architecture of the home, and the cultural context brought the site to life in a way that was both engaging and memorable. Daniel wove together fascinating stories, historical details, and personal insights that made the experience feel intimate and meaningful. His passion for Mexican art and history was infectious, and he answered all of our questions thoughtfully. We left with a much richer understanding of Rivera, Kahlo, and their creative world. Highly recommended!
Daniel, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, prepared, energetic. He tells wonderful stories
Omar was the best tour guide ever! Frida & Diego’s house tour :) he’s so full of charisma, passion & knowledge! We learned so much history & had a great time with him as our tour guide! :)
If you’re a fan of either artist or of both, this is a must. Daniel, our tour guide, was friendly, informative and a good story teller!
Cinthya is very knowledgeable and presented all the information in a fun engaging way. Very friendly.
Very interesting It was noticed that Hector knew his matter well and explained with great passion We loved the view
well organized. Attentive guide with very good communication and knowledge of his subject
The experience is super interesting, I recommend wearing a hat and putting a lot of blocker to not get sunburned.
Excellent visit considering the performance of the guide. You rating Hector is very committed to his job. Very educated in the different topics related to the visit. However ears pulled to the museum because they did not open access to the houses early so he could not explain in detail inside them
The visit was super interesting! Our guide gave us the tour in French, so it was very precise and easy to understand. She gave us a lot of details that allowed us to fully understand the lives of Diego rivera and Frida Kahlo. We recommend 100%!
