The whole guide experience is absolutely amazing. Our guide Edwin is definitely a profession in this field. He contacted me in the morning with very clear descriptions about meeting point. BTW, if you book for morning trip, please get your waking up coffee and breakfast in your hotel. Cafes around the museum is too far due to the limited time. Edwin prepared our tickets in advance, and guided us a good cafe in the museum. Since it’s a very large museum, Edwin guided us based on chronological history of pre-Hispanic México. In the whole process, he kept double checking if we had any questions, while he could answer any questions (maybe wired) very well. His English is easily to understand. I highly recommended this tour and Edwin, as well as his company if you need other tours in Mexico. They will treat you well :)

Very thorough historian. We appreciated his patience and knowledge. Unfortunately, moderately heavy accent made it difficult to understand for the group. Would not recommend using laser pointer in museum. Although helpful for tour explanation which we appreciated, the laser refracts from glass and back into tour members eyes.

Edwin was a very knowledgeable tour guide. He also showed the kids how Mayan math worked. Very prompt communication on the morning of the tour to coordinate logistics.

The experience was very seamless and easy, we had to book last minute after our guide through another company cancelled on us. Clara, our guide, was very knowledgeable. I appreciated how she painted a logical story for us and I feel that the 3 hours gave us a good overview of what was important regarding the main Aztec and Mayan exhibits (there is of course a lot more to see in the museum that would take days to do but I think we hit the highlights). Having a good guide enhanced the experience so much more for us, it would have been a much poorer experience had we tried to go without Clara.

We were visiting Mexico for the first time and wanted to learn more about its culture and history. We were heading to the Teotihuacán Pyramid the next day, but we thought the Museo Nacional de Antropología would give us the background we would need. It was very special to get a private tour in English with Clara. Clara was very knowledgeable about the items in the Museum and it was so great to be able to ask questions. We were impressed and appreciative of her friendliness and knowledge. She was very responsive to us when we needed a rest or a coffee break. We would highly recommend Clara.

Edwin was brilliant. He is a true anthropologist and historian. He was able to communicate effectively with a mixture of natives and foreign visitors making sure that we all understood the importance and significance of every time period and artifact in the museum. Edwin was also friendly and approachable. When we had questions he always fully explained with great patience and kindness. Edwin also has a pretty good sense of humor! Edwin is a fabulous tour guide. He brought us here first and explained in detail the history, beliefs, and culture of Mexico’s many indigenous groups. We then proceeded to visit places in and around Mexico City on the following day that he has talked about during our tour of the archeological museum. Edwin is probably the best tour guide I’ve even dealt with. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the historical significance of Mexico is unparalleled. Don’t waste time or money on other tours!!

We did the tour of the National Museum of Anthropology with Triptlán as a family: my husband, our four-month-old baby, and my mom, who is an older person. I was worried that such a large museum would be too much for us, but Clara, our guide, made everything very easy. Clara adjusted the pace to our needs, spoke both English and Spanish, took breaks when the baby needed it or when my mom wanted to sit down, and we never felt pressured. Instead of trying to see everything, she focused on the most important rooms and explained them in a clear and very interesting way. We left truly understanding what we saw. If you visit Mexico City with small children or older relatives, I highly recommend this guided tour of the Museum of Anthropology. Family-friendly, quiet, and full of history.
