The exact pick-up time will be confirmed one day in advance and may vary depending on weather conditions and operational logistics.
5:45 a.m. - Arrival at the balloonport. Our team will welcome you with coffee, tea and biscuits as you watch the balloons prepare before takeoff. 6: 10 a.m. Start of the hot air balloon flight. Enjoy a unique experience of between 30 and 50 minutes, reaching heights of up to 10,000 feet and admiring breathtaking panoramic views of Teotihuacan at dawn. 7: 30 a.m. After landing, they will participate in the traditional flying ceremony, which includes a toast with the pilot and the presentation of your commemorative flight certificate.
8:00 a.m. - After the flight, we will head to the iconic Restaurant La Gruta, where you will live a unique dining experience: breakfast inside a real natural cave. 9 :00 a.m. Immerse yourself in the ancestral culture of Teotihuacan with a guided tour of a traditional obsidian and maguey workshop. You will know the importance of the volcanic stones used by the ancient Teotihuacans in their daily lives, trade and rituals. Guided by local experts, you will learn about these ancient techniques and their cultural legacy. In addition, you will enjoy a tasting of artisan spirits made in the region, an authentic sample of Teotihuacan traditions.
10:00 a.m. - You will have 1 hour of free time to tour the archaeological area of Teotihuacan and explore its stunning Sun and Moon pyramids and historic spaces at your own pace. Important: Admission to the archaeological site is not included and costs approximately $10 USD (or $210 MXN) per person.
11 :00 a.m. Return to Mexico City. We will drop you off at the same point where we picked you up at the beginning of the experience. Important: - All times are approximate and may vary depending on the weather conditions and logistics of the day. - Balloon flight depends entirely on the weather; it cannot be guaranteed to fly exactly over the archaeological zone, although in 95% of the cases it is possible to fly over or very close to Teotihuacán. - La Gruta Restaurant is a unique restaurant located inside a natural volcanic tube on a dormant volcano, making it an exceptional dining experience. Due to their high demand and specific hours, there could be waiting times for access. - This is a complete tour and all activities must be carried out. In case any traveler decides to leave before the last stop, the return to Mexico City must be at their own expense.

We had a great time. This was me and my wife's first time doing the ballon and we loved it. The pilot was great as well with plenty of in sight. Only complaint would be pickup. They had a drive in a small compact car pick us up and drive across town to pick up another couple. It was a very uncomfortable ride and really disappointing.

Such a well organized and beautiful experience. You are picked up right from your hotel and transported to the grounds where the balloons depart. Snacks and coffee is provided there. The balloon ride itself is magnificent and feels like you are in a magical world. Breakfast in a cave is also a very unique and must do experience. They have vegetarian and no-egg options as well.

Overall, we are very disappointed with this experience. The entire operation felt unorganized, unprofessional, and uncomfortable from start to finish. The night before, I had to reach out multiple times just to find out what time we would be picked up, who would be picking us up, and what type of vehicle to expect. You would think that spending $250 per person would come with at least a basic level of communication. We finally received a message around 8:00 PM informing us that pickup would be at 4:45 AM. Then, the following morning, I received another message at 440am saying they would be at my hotel at 5:00 AM. The driver ultimately went to the wrong hotel and showed up in a small Chevy Aveo with another group already in the car. Not exactly a great way to start an early morning, especially when you're facing an hour-long drive crammed into the back seat. When we arrived at the Magic Balloons lot, we were handed off to their team for check-in. They had weight scales prominently displayed and recorded everyone's weight. I'm still in disbelief at how inaccurate the scales appeared to be. I know my actual weight, yet the scale claimed I was approximately 15 pounds heavier than normal. My wife had a similar experience, with the scale showing her 10–15 pounds heavier than she actually is. Everyone around us seemed confused by their own numbers being reported. Because I was over their 100 kg threshold, I was charged an additional 40 pesos per kilogram. I'm still unclear why this fee was necessary, as my weight should not affect the balloon tour, and my wife was approximately 40 kg under the 100 kg limit which could’ve easily been offset. The additional charge felt especially questionable given the apparent inaccuracy of the scales. The balloon ride itself was fine. Unfortunately, the experience surrounding it was not. From the time we landed until we were finally put into a vehicle and dropped off at our next stop where we were asked to purchase their photos, approximately 90 minutes had passed. Our driver didn't seem to know where he was going, and we were sharing the vehicle with other customers who were also clearly frustrated with the lack of organization. We passed on the below-average photos and eventually made it to breakfast, which was easily the highlight of the entire trip. La Gruta is a must-visit and was a major reason we selected this particular tour. The authentic breakfast was very good and since the restaurant is in a cave it was even more memorable. After breakfast, however, we were left standing outside wondering when someone was going to come get us and take us to the pyramids, which we believed were included in the tour. We eventually learned that the "time" provided at the pyramids was essentially free time and that even entering the grounds required an additional fee. At that point, we decided to skip it. We then asked the driver to take us back to Mexico City, but they refused because we had been grouped with another family and we were expected to wait another 60–75 minutes for them to finish their portion of the tour. Since we were already frustrated and the drive back would take over an hour, we ultimately bit the bullet and spent another $30 USD on an Uber back to Mexico City. If you're considering this tour specifically for the balloon ride and breakfast, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Throughout the morning, we saw many other groups that had proper vehicles, English-speaking guides, and much more organized schedules. Unfortunately, our experience fell well short of what we expected for the price we paid.
We had such a great experience with Viva Mexa overall and would definitely recommend it! Pickup was super smooth and our driver was great. The only hiccup was the balloon launch. We were one of the last groups to go up, and there seemed to be some miscommunication that had us driving back and forth for a bit. By the time we finally took off, the sun was already up, so I was a little disappointed that we missed the sunrise. Our balloon also didn’t get as close to the pyramids as some of the others, but the views were still absolutely beautiful. Our balloon pilot was amazing, and the landing was super smooth! We also added photos, and they came out beautiful. I just wish there had been a little more variety and more solo photos of my partner. Breakfast at La Gruta was alright, but everyone was really nice and spoke English, which made everything easy. The pyramids were definitely one of the highlights! Our driver helped us get a guide, and I’m SO glad we did. He was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much about the history. 10/10 recommend getting a guide because it made visiting the pyramids so much more meaningful. Keep in mind you do have to pay and the admission fee was around $24 usd Per person I think? Overall, this was an amazing experience despite a few small things that could’ve gone smoother. I would absolutely do it again with family or friends who haven’t experienced it yet, and I’d recommend Viva Mexa to anyone visiting CDMX!
The experience was amazing and breath taking. They picked us up at our location which allowed us to just relax and just enjoy the activities. The value was great, way better than other ones we were looking at. The guide was very nice and accommodating. She provided us with updates of the tour and very interesting facts along the way. I would definitely recommend to book with them.

The hot air balloon experience was incredible, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and made sure the flight and landing were both smooth and enjoyable. Breakfast at La Gruta was also a unique experience. Dining inside the cave was beautiful, and both the atmosphere and food were excellent. The only downside was the itinerary after breakfast. We were taken to an artisan shop that felt more like a tourist trap and ended up wasting about 30–45 minutes there. Afterward, we were rushed to the Teotihuacán pyramids and given only about 45 minutes to explore, which was nowhere near enough time to fully enjoy the site. I would highly recommend booking these experiences separately rather than as a package. By doing so, you’ll have the flexibility to spend as much time as you’d like at each location and avoid the unnecessary stop at the artisan shop. The balloon ride and La Gruta were amazing, but the packaged itinerary made the overall experience feel rushed. BOOK OTHERWISE

From the moment he picked us up, we knew we were in good hands. He was incredibly kind, professional, and thoughtful throughout the entire day. He always made sure we were comfortable and safe, helped us take beautiful photos, prepared hats for us when we visited the pyramids under the hot sun, and was flexible with our schedule whenever we needed it. His driving was smooth and safe, and his genuine care made this experience even more special. The tour itself was outstanding. Watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon over the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacan was breathtaking. Every part of the day was thoughtfully planned and very well organized. The balloon crew was friendly, professional, and made us feel relaxed from beginning to end. The quality of the entire experience far exceeded our expectations and was worth every penny. The only small disappointment was the lunch at the cave restaurant. The atmosphere and service were wonderful, but the food wasn’t quite to my taste. It wasn’t served very warm, and even the cold drinks were not very cold. This is simply my personal preference and did not take away from an otherwise amazing day. Overall, this was a truly priceless experience that I will never forget. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mexico, and I especially hope they have the chance to meet Luis. Very curtious staff and helpful, Angel, Derek and Luis were all very kind. I recommend if you are going to eat at the cave to let them know if you are going to be a little after you eat if you want to get some drinks. They will accomodiate you and also the pyramids are only a few minutes walk if you decide to joint them later plus you can take your drinks with you. there is an hour and a half or so that you are able to enjoy at the pyramids
Do not hesitate, book this experience if you are planning on visiting la cuidad de Mexico! I promise you will not regret it. The team works so hard to make you feel welcomed, excited and genuine sweet good people. From the start at 4:30am pick up, we had the best experience. We chitchatted with our driver Danea about what else we wanted to do in the city. She gave us the best recommendations and even dropped us off at la Basilca on our way back.

Not a lot of information on the Tripadvisor app but we received a confirmation WhatsApp two hours later that put us at ease, they offered to collect us but we arranged our own transportation to the location that they gave us. BEST EXPERIENCE!!! It is a must if traveling to Mexico City. Hot Air Ballon Ride calm and peaceful . Location Teotihuacan is about 45-60 minute drive from the city. After ride went to La Gruta for breakfast, such a beautiful cave. Guides made it so easy, got picked up in Hotel and taken back at end of tour.
