All of other balloons carried 4-6 people, our balloon carried 20 people excluding the pilot. Each section of the balloon had 5 people, it was extremely crowded and difficult to take photos, and even though we bought the drone package, the videos turned out badly because it was so crowded.

My fiancé and I went to Mexico and purchased the entire experience, including the breakfast buffet. The fly experience was great, but the food made us very sick. The health conditions at the breakfast buffet were not good. They placed a plastic liner between the chafer's tray and the food so the heat of the sternos reacted with the plastic, contaminating the food. I contacted them to let them know about this experience. They contacted me and offered to cover the medical bill or compensate the cost of the video and photo package. I agreed, and they did not contact me again after all. I hope they will take my bad experience and fix all the issues I commented on for future visitors!
I want to express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience on January 1st with Sky Balloons. We booked three tickets for a hot air balloon ride, but my mother, who is 67 years old, fell ill and could not attend. Despite notifying them early in the morning, we were charged for all three tickets. The customer service was inadequate. The last person who called us at the phone number +525580972716 was rude and justified themselves with lies, offering us no solutions. While we understand that there were logistical changes, we noticed that all the baskets accommodated four people, so we don’t see how they would have fitted one more. Additionally, in the vehicle that picked us up after landing, we had to squeeze in, and I don’t understand how they would have included my mother. The most frustrating part was that, after the balloon ride, one person took up the spot both on the bus and for the rest of the tour (entrance to the pyramids), which proves that they did not incur any significant additional costs. This is unacceptable and a huge disappointment. I would not recommend this experience to anyone.
Took this tour today and had a good time. First time in a hot air balloon. Breakfast was good along with tour and access to the pyramids.
It started off as a very cool experience, but then the pilot and drivers completely abandoned their jobs to seduce a young girl wearing a skirt. The pilot, Oscar, had her sit on the propane tanks (safety hazard) so that he could take pictures of her on his personal phone, and she kept flashing everybody her bright green underwear (there were children present). The last 20 minutes of the ride were just her own personal photo shoot and you could feel the sexual tension between them. And then, to top it off, she ended up joining our van with some other girl that wasn't originally a part of our group, and they reclined their seats so far back that the row behind them almost couldn't sit there (the row behind them was comprised of very skinny men just fyi). On the drive back to the hotel, the driver was literally inviting them out to eat after the tour. Also, the restaurant that they have you eat at, El Cielo, isn't that good to begin with.
The hot air balloon was awesome but there were some things that didn't go so well: 1) The lunch we paid for was mediocre and I think I got sick from it 2) Since we did the walking visit to the pyramids on the way we (as a group of travelers who didn't know each other) were bullied into getting a tour guide for which we had to pay extra. There was peer pressure in accepting because the price was for the group so if one person decided not to participate, then the rest of the folks had to pay more.
The hot air balloon ride over the pyramids was amazing. We saw the sun rise over the city and the archaeological site and it was perfect. Jorge was our guide, great guy. Teotihuacan itself is big enough to enjoy but not so big that you get tired quickly. Bring water. There are lots of people who offer to be a guide for a fee but I have heard they often make things up. You can just read about it beforehand and skip the guide.
I would not recommend this company to coordinate your hot air balloon ride. The hot air balloon ride and the tour of the pyramids (shout out to our great tour guide Pancho!) were great, we paid for round trip transportation from our hotel in Palanco and were left in the middle of the street an hour walk from our hotel. After our return driver requested tips, he left us in the middle of the street saying he couldn’t get us to Palanco due to street closures from the Pride parade. We requested he get us closer and he refused. He also refused to give us his name. He left us on the street and drove away. We had no idea where we were or how to get back to our hotel. After standing on the side of the road for half an hour trying to figure out where we were, we were able to get a cab that had no problem getting us back to our hotel. It seems the driver just did not want to deal with the street closures to get us safely back to our hotel. As a previous reviewer mentioned this company has shady business ethics, I won’t waste my time asking for a refund for the extra money we had to put out to get back to our hotel. Please go with another company.
This was a great experience. The business was on top of everything and took excellent care of us. The experience of the pilot showed n the way he was able to maneuver around the pyramids and land us safely. We ordered the extra video and photos and are very pleased with them. The breakfast was a nice finish to the morning.
I had a fantastic experience with this organization. The hot air balloon ride lasted for 45 minutes and was incredibly enjoyable. The event was well-planned and executed flawlessly. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.
I was afraid to try this but I am so glad I did. The operators and all the support staff and crew are so skilled because they do this regularly. It was like watching a ballet from set up to delivery back at the site. I made a video about it on my channel named ANOVA Travels to show the exact take off and landing and how pretty smooth and fun it was. The views were breathtaking especially since there were so many other balloons up at the same time. If you get really scared, just move more toward the middle of the basket. We had champagne at one point too and I got two glasses. That always helps, ha ha. They also have drones up there filming from the outside so you can see everyone in the basket and your reactions for the first 4 minutes of flights. I am so glad someone in my group got that.
The actual balloon experience was good (despite for the cold breakfast) but unfortunately, the whole event has been tainted by the dishonest business ethics of Sky Balloons Mexico. My wife and I did the hot air balloon ride on Christmas Day 2022 (25/12/2022) and the company made an error because they did not include us on the transport schedule even though we requested an early morning pick up from our hotel in CDMX (Roma Norte). After making numerous attempts to get in touch with the company in the morning, I was told by a member of staff that there was an error with the transport and we were not on the transport schedule. I was then told (in writing) that if my wife and I organised a taxi to the company office (next door to the pyramids), we would be able to take the balloon ride and the company would reimburse us in full for the personal transport costs that we incurred (taxi + toll gate). I have sent through proof of costs to the company (as requested) but up to this point, my wife and I have still NOT received the refund. I have contacted the company many times about the refund status and each time I am told by a member of staff that the refund is coming. Unfortunately, I have lost patience with the company and it is difficult for me to trust them. I recommend that you do good research before choosing which company to use for this experience (there are other good reputable companies available) and take situations like this into account when making your decision.
This experience wasn’t all bad but it was not great either. I’ll start with the good - the transfer from the hotel to site was good, the flight was smooth and the food at breakfast was decent. Now for the less good - our balloon didn’t go anywhere near the pyramids. This was really disappointing as that was the whole reason why I wanted to do this experience. Mostly we saw some cactuses and farm buildings. I’ve seen a lot of other balloons go a lot closer to the site. Also, there were no explanations in English and the morning snack consisted of overly sweet coffee and stale pastries but those are minor details. What was rather annoying is that the staff were constantly pushing “professional” photos - it felt like the only thing they cared about is selling you the photos. We also paid for the visit to Teotihuacán and that part was completely disorganized as we had to wait 2 hrs after the flight to be taken to the site. On the way to Teotihuacan we also had to go through a sales pitch at a crafts workshop but at least it was mercifully brief.
My family and I went up during sunrise and it was a spectacular experience. Here are my pros and cons based on my experience: Pros - Stunning views of pyramids and surrounding area - professional and safety focused staff - very comfortable ride - safety communication and well organized - we had a breakfast after included in our package - complimentary champagne once landed Cons: - we seemed to be the last company to go up at sunrise compared to neighbouring balloon companies, so it was already pretty light by the time we were up (we were up about 20 mins after sunrise began - our basket was shared with other guests so it was a bit more crowded than I would have liked but still safe, and I saw lots of couples go up privately
Great experience today on our balloon flight with Giovanni. Everything was super professional and we felt safe the entire time. These guys are one of the few who are Actually licensed to this and the whole day ran without any issues.
It's an amazing experience! however, I was very DISAPPOINTED WITH THE HAPPY BIRTHDAY PACKAGE. This package cost an additional $18-$20 USD which included an HBD banner to be displayed before the take-off, but it never happened. I told them about it and they say it was a logistical issue and there is nothing to do about it. My recommendation is to only pay for the regular service and don't do any add-on since they won't honor the request and neither reimburse your money back.
I’m writing this from the parking lot, our “sunrise” balloon ride that we arrived before 6am for is still being delayed two hours later for reasons that we still aren’t getting an answer for. At this rate the morning light is gone and the sky is dusty and grey. Know that if the balloon your reservation is assigned has issues, the company will not move you to another available balloon and will instead say that “your” balloon is “almost ready” for hours. Even as entire tour groups arrive hours after you and get on balloons that were transported, set up, flown, and returned since you’ve been waiting. I highly recommend you go with another company because at this point we shouldn’t have wasted our entire day of vacation in a parking lot being lied to. Our once in a lifetime opportunity has been lost.
Hardly anything other than flying over the pyramids is as described. We flew less than 30 minutes. After, they ended up taking us to a souvenir shop. This is the oldest trick in the book when going on a Mexican excursion. This isn't something you're signing up for, and the tour service either gets paid to take you there or it's their shop. Either way their scamming you out of your time and money. The only place this is even remotely mentioned is in Spanish, and to make it even worse is it's the only thing in the description written in Spanish; it couldn't be more obvious they're trying to hide it. If you follow the initial way they explain the itinerary in the description, and don't speak Spanish, this is laid out like the breakfast that is described. We were only able to spend 1 hour at the pyramids because of all the time we wasted at the souvenir shop. Additionally, the Viator description does show that the tour is offered in English, but once arriving at the pyramids it will cost you an additional $50 / person for an English tour guide. Then we had to rush through the site to get back to the bus before we were left. Many others offer this exact trip for a lot cheaper, and we paid a premium price because the listing indicated a premium experience. Unfortunately, this is a case of false advertising.
It was amazing! Very organized and professionally! Very positive experience! I felt safe and very welcoming. Thank you so much🙏🏼❤️
Highly recommend. We did a group balloon with our pilot Augustine. He gave us a perfect ride and told us so much information about the balloon and his technique. The only downside is if you’re with an English speaking group you’d miss out on all the information. I’m lucky my husband speaks Spanish. It was perfect weather and we had a rainbow and it’s a holiday so there were randomly fireworks. You want a cold day our pilot told us. We took an Uber from central histórico both ways. $668 pesos at 445am and $360 returning. Can’t say enough about this experience. The breakfast buffet was pretty good too.
It was super bad weather! You couldn't see further than 10 meters because of the fog. We told you that you can't see anything like this and that we shouldn't wait until it clears up. Think 1 hour. The pilot promised us that it was different in the air. Nothing but clouds in the sky. Or dead lawns and rubbish beneath us. No other balloons and no temple seen. The Pilot also didn't speak English so didn't understand anything we asked him and suddenly we were back on the ground. Then we had to walk back to the starting point through the mud itself. Once back it had cleared up again. So they should have chosen to give us breakfast first and then fly instead of flying first and then breakfast. They all barely speak English so it is impossible to communicate with them. Miguel from the company does speak English, we spoke to him on the phone and he told us that only if the pilot thinks the weather is bad that you can get a refund or move to another day. Unfortunately, only the money has been thought of here. You had to pay 800 pesos for photos that you didn't see anything on. Also at the breakfast restaurant they didn't speak English so couldn't make a good choice. The breakfast, don't expect much from this: some pieces of melon, an egg and a few pieces of bread. Please note this is not a panoramic restaurant. You look out on the field where the balloon goes up. After this you suddenly go to a shop to buy stones or silver and because the taxi driver did not speak English, this was not mentioned to us. After that you will go to the temple be aware you will not get a tour! You can buy it for 1200 pesos. Also don't forget to bring water. Because you get nothing for the entire tour. Paid a lot of money for nothing. Wouldn't recommend this company, especially if you don't speak Spanish! They promise things that they cannot deliver. All they want is to get money and don't think about the experience of people. Very much regret this day! And we are really sorry that we lost so much money.
Our experience with Sky Balloons was simply spectacular. 200% recommended! 🎈✨ From the organization to the flight, everything was excellent. It is a certified, professional, and very well-organized company that made us feel safe and calm at all times. Our captain was Eduardo Monroy, an excellent captain, with a lot of experience and very well-trained. He gave us a lot of peace of mind throughout the flight, and thanks to him, we had an incredible experience. We took away unforgettable memories and spectacular views from the air. Without a doubt, I would fly with Sky Balloons again with my family every time I return to Mexico. Thank you for giving us such a beautiful and unforgettable experience! 🎈🇲🇽❤️
It was a unique and wonderful experience worth repeating. The responsible of the pilot who operated the balloon, all the staff who attended us, the breakfast at La Cueva was spectacular. On our Pyramid Tours, Christopher, our guide explained us in detail and easy to understand. 100% recommended. We look forward to repeating the experience. Excellent everything!!!
Very good package and tour. Good food, excellent locations and comfortable bus. Expert pilots who inspire confidence. I recommend them!
It was very good, they were super punctual, they were aware of everything and the experience was very good, the pyramids were very beautiful, the balloon pilot was super attentive in explaining everything to us
It was not a memorable experience, your customer service department is very efficient to quote and collect yet leaves much to be desired when your customers expose force majeure situations and request your help. The balloon flight was good and fun but upon arriving at the cave they had not even scheduled our visit, it was disappointing.
The visit starts very early but it is worth getting up early, the transport arrived on time and we picked up more people along the way. Upon arrival everything is very nice and pleasant and the flight is quite enjoyable. I recommend buying the Adventure Flight has everything included and the price/benefit is totally worth it.
We hired Sky Ballons services, and they exceeded our expectations!! From the time the driver picked us up, until we returned to CDMX, the Staff is very well prepared, everyone, everyone has a positive attitude, always willing to take care of you. The balloon flight was wonderful, seeing the pyramids from above is an unparalleled experience!! Super recommended service, everything to everything!!!
Super beautiful, cute, fun. Fabian was our guide, he took great care of us. 10/10 recommend for a unique opportunity for photos.
It was a spectacular experience, they picked us up near the hotel, on arrival they provide us with coffee and bread, and give us time to take pictures in different scenarios, then we go up to the balloon and explain how it is. The experience is great, the views beautiful, you feel a lot of peace, I would repeat it. Then we get a very rich and varied breakfast buffet. From there we go to where the artisans work the silver and then to the pyramids, they are impressive!
When we arrived at 7am we were offered coffee and some cookies, while we waited our turn then it is time to get on the balloon the ride is about 50mn in air then you get off and you are taken to the breakfast buffet.
Incredible experience, I totally recommend to sky balloons, attentive patient staff, very good food, the flight is spectacular worth every invested weight, the walk in the pyramids very beautiful, I recommend to carry hydration as it is very hot, you feel everything very safe because they are very careful, I went with my wife and they put a banner down that said happy anniversary and my wife almost cries when she saw it, the view is perfect , the photos were amazing.
We booked a private flight weeks in advance and when we arrived at the site we were kept waiting more than 2 hours. At no time did they let us choose the flight schedule, and obviously at the time our balloon left it no longer made any sense to leave. Our expectation was to be able to see the sunrise and the view with the other balloons around. Our experience in addition to being the opposite was dangerous given the schedule. The pilot had great difficulty landing between the road and high voltage cables. It landed in a cactus field. A scam for the price we pay! They shouldn't let balloons out so late in the morning, or at least they should inform their passengers.
It was a very good balloon experience, however the shuttle Service was not what we were offered at first. We were picked up by an old Van at 5 am, it was full, without air conditioning, without windows and without where to rest your head for a journey of at least 1 hour. We arrived at the site and started our ascent in the balloons, for the descent it was a little unforeseen as we landed a little far from where it was intended, however everything in safety. Once we landed, we were supposed to be picked up by a van however in our case the van did not arrive and we had to leave in the back of the van, outdoors for at least 30 mins at a very low temperature. For the return to CDMX it was the worst of the experience because it was noon, we got a lot of traffic, and worst of all, an unbearable heat remembering that the air conditioning of the van did not work and that it did not have windows. It was horrible the end of the experience!!! I recommend that you make sure the Transportation Service is the right one.
BEAUTIFUL AND EXCELLENT Service... perfect Service. We had a great time with David Asain, very nice and very friendly to share the experience. Since we were picked up to start the tour was perfect: super punctual, the place very nice, set with music, excellent treatment, clearing all doubts. We bought a package with photos and video and they were beautiful. The breakfast is very varied. A wonderful experience to return to.
Balloon experience is recommended, but please do not hire this Enterprise. We had a terrible experience, first of all the driver of the car was very rude from the beginning of the tour, always eagerly, malignant and distracted. Leaving us in the ruins, he did not clarify the door number we were supposed to find ourselves in, simply ignored our question and left. When we returned to the meeting point we realized that there was more than one door so in a hurry we found the door where we were supposed to meet. It had been 10min of the agreed time and the car was gone. We ask the sky balloons assistant on WhatsApp to help us solve and we only get very rude comments and scolding from her. We lost 600 pesos equivalent to the return, which we paid to the Enterprise for a Service it never provided and we had to return by bus. When hiring these companies for a tour, what is expected is support, good information and patience. Which we didn't get with the Enterprise. Additionally, the flight was supposed to last at least 30 minutes and only lasted 20 minutes, the coffee break bread was expired and smelled very bad. The attention of the assistant via WhatsApp was exaggeratedly disrespectful and leaves us with a tasteless experience. We could see that they have their social media comments turned off, so it is presumably not the first drawback of this type. Additionally, we have realized that your Service is much more expensive than in other agencies. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!
An incredible experience carried by equally incredible organizers by their kindness Thank you.
It was a magical experience. A team of professionals who take care of you. A fantastic flight with David as pilot, above the pyramids. UNFORGETTABLE
My experience with this company was awful. Their website is bloated with options and difficult to navigate. I contacted them on WhatsApp and had long delays getting answers to my questions. Due to their online payment service being down, I had to pay them through PayPal, but it wasn't clear that I had to pay an additional 8% on top of the amount they charged me. So they refunded me the cost except for the down payment to accommodate this. Since my credit card was stolen and replaced digitally, I had more questions about payment processing, but their representative did not get back to me on WhatsApp. Once I got to the location that day, they told me they didn't accept contactless payments and didn't know how to input my credit card manually on their machines. They also wouldn't accept my payment through PayPal, although they had no problem taking and keeping my security deposit. As a result, I lost an entire vacation day on my trip and the additional costs of renting an Uber from Mexico City to get there. After waking up at 4:45 am and taking an hour-long Uber ride to get there, I left without a trip I was willing to pay for and without any accommodations. This business left me with a negative impression and experience; please beware. My experience with this Enterprise was horrible. Your website is full of options and difficult to navigate. I contacted them on WhatsApp and had long delays to get answers to my questions. Because their Online Payment Service wasn’t working, I had to pay them via PayPal, but it wasn’t clear if I had to pay an additional 8% on top of the amount they charged me. I was then reimbursed for the cost, except the down payment to accommodate this. As a result, I lost a full day of vacation on my trip and the additional costs of renting an Uber from Mexico City to get there. After waking up at 4:45 am and taking an hour-long Uber to get there, I left without a ride I was willing to pay for and without accommodation. This business left me a negative impression and experience; please be careful
Was a super experience to fly right over the temple and also so high, that we could admire mountains of snow. Not 5 stars, because hardly any English was spoken (I hadn’t understood that photos were taken beforehand) and the balloonist was especially attentive to a female customer.
Formidable experience of flying over the pyramids and especially Captain Vasquez's great performance in flying the globe, but being an excellent air guide. They pick you up early and it's worth getting up early to watch the sun rise from the air. Then you get to breakfast before you go to the pyramids.
The flight only lasted 20 minutes, I hired the Birthday Flight Service and they did not roll out the Happy Birthday surprise tarp. They're supposed to be the best, but they didn't live up to what they sell you. A good experience, but ultimately I would not hire the services of this Enterprise, expensive and deficient; the taxi driver of San Juan Teotihuacan told me that it was one of the most expensive companies... Even during the flight observe balloons from other companies that rose higher and closer to the pyramids, they are backed up stating that it is for our safety that they anticipate the duration of the balloon, however it is their duty to keep the balloons in good condition, so that these incidents do not pass.
I loved the balloon trip. The guide Oscar was very attentive and friendly. Fully recommended. Full and professional Service. I'd Take Back Service
This activity is definitely worth it. You will be picked up from the hotel early at 5am and reach the place after about 1 hour. You have to register and get coffee and pastries. In small groups you then go to the balloon and in time you ascend to sunrise. The driver Rodolfo Jovanni did great! Again and again, the balloon was rotated into position so that everyone could see and photograph everything well. After an hour he landed on the trailer of the car! Unbelievable! And we stayed in the basket and were driven back. There you got a small breakfast before going to a museum with tequila tasting at 9:15. One was told a lot and you didn't have to buy anything. Finally, the temples still had an hour and a half left. Admission is included, if you want a guided tour, you have to pay extra with a local guide. Around 1pm we were back at the hotel. Perfect!
First of all, the value is very high for the full tour, which includes a visit to the archaeological area of Teotihuacan. Still, it is a unique experience and worth every penny. At 5 a.m. the guests are caught in their hotels and taken to the meeting point in the city of San Martín de las Piramides, an hour away; the return takes almost 2 hours, with the crazy traffic of Mexico City! You can go by bermuda but it is better closed shoe or tennis and a mesh, because the mornings in the center of the country are cold and on the plateau even more. Sunscreen and water are also recommended, no need of passport or other documentation except the printed proof of the reservation! On arrival, the guests are separated and have a coffee with a sweet pan and then are taken to their balloons, shared or not, before the sun rises. The photos are impressive and at the end toast with local sparkling sweet. After the balloon tour of about 45min, a very basic breakfast is served and we follow by car to the usual shopping stop, in which the tourist is explained this and that, always ending in the shop... The next step is the view of the imposing and gigantic archaeological area that overlooks! It is advisable to pay 1000MEX and hire a guide to explain the whole history of the place and the value can be shared with who made the tour. Or you can walk alone but you have to pay attention to the time of 90min for a new meeting at the exit of the parking lot (door 3). The unnecessary loud music in the Enterprise office and strangely not having wifi available for customers are the only downsides. I suggest that the Enterprise offer a discount coupon to those who made the tour with a validity of 2 years, not only so that the customer returns a while later but that he can do good advertising! How about offering toast to a magnet or keyboard too? For the high price paid, it would be fair... Finally, I thank the balloon rider Jovanni, the driver Brandon and the guys who grab the balloon in the mud and bend it, it's a damaged job and I feel sorry for their backs at the end of the day! Oh, there was neither offer nor requirement to wear masks...
Super expérience, la vue de Téotihuacan est incroyable. Il est mieux de le faire très tôt afin de profiter du lever de soleil. Expérience à vivre.
Read this, before you live your experience. I hired a Service paying 7,858 Mexican pesos (x2) for: 1. Our balloon had 14 people in the basket, when I saw balloons coming out with 8 people. We were tight and could not fully enjoy the flight, plus I remember we are under Covid. 2. We request Photo and Video Service (if you do not get hired please). When we arrived the girl in the photograph took the pictures fast, without any knowledge. And forgive me if you offer that minimum plan, you're expected to know what you're doing, isn't that what you pay for? Forgive me, but you have no concept, it looks like a picture taken outside a garage, out of focus. 3. The pilot never explained anything during the journey, the toast was in the most impersonal way in the world, and you know what there are other companies that do very well, passed a disposable cup, without any protocol or explanation, wine that was lost because the van carrying the balloon started quickly and abruptly. 4. Not much communication, before and during the plan, warn that returning after landing, means cold and is a strong experience; it is the balloon basket hooked to a van. We had to hide squatting inside the balloon (we couldn’t fit) when we passed through a “supposed roadblock” because they don’t have the permits to transport people like that. 5.I paid for a 12-hour tour and other people who still wanted to do the same thing to stay longer, didn't overpay... i.e. I was the one who paid the wait for others I don't even know, even paid 1800 pesos less, than us, that doesn't seem honest. The experience is very beautiful and I would do it again a thousand times, but NOT with them.
Good experience. We were unlucky with the weather because when the sun came up it was half cloudy and the wind “pulled” us to the opposite side of the pyramids. Despite the weather, the experience is unique. They must seriously improve the quality of the breakfast; although the buffer style and has many options, they do not have a quality commensurate with the price. After breakfast you will arrive at a market and finally at the pyramids. It would be nice if they included a guide in Teotihuacan so the experience is more complete.
100% recommended, an experience worth making during the visit in Mexico. People operating the professional balloon and Attentive
