Rigel was a fantastic host and super knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks we experienced. 100% recommended
Julian was a delightful guide. He was so knowledgeable about the History of Mexico City. He also ensured that everyone on the tour was comfortable with food choices. It was a fabulous day. Highly recommended.
Yetzi (I so apologize if I’ve spelled this wrong ) was an absolute delight to spend a few hours with. Her knowledge was incredible. She manoeuvred her was around the markets with ease. She interjected the entire adventure with history and culinary knowledge.
The food stops were all great and Rigel was very knowledgeable
Excellent tour with Raul through the backstreets of Mexico City. Very interesting and informative with great food tastings. Great way to excite local food and people without the risk.
excellent experience, informative fun and tasty. our guide Paco was great too and enjoyed the Mescal tasting at the end
Eduardo was the most fantastic tour guide. He is so passionate, knowledgeable and lovely all around. As a chef he is able to tell an amazing story of food, society, aet and culture of Mexico City. Would recommend to anyone!
Eduardo was an engaging and informative guide. Our family group of four was fortunate enough to have him all to ourselves. We learned more about Mexican food and had numerous delicious culinary experiences in some unusual places. Thanks to Eduardo's lively commentary, we also picked up a good deal of information about Mexican history and culture, especially its art. The areas visited, the food selections and the tour length were perfect for us. Thanks for a great day!
Raul was a terrific guide and the tour was way beyond our expectations. He presented a mix of food, history, local lore, and a deep knowledge of Centro with a wonderful personality and sense of humor. I shall happily recall our day with him for quite some time!
Rigel was amazing and the food was SO delicious…don’t miss this tour!
Our food tour was amazing. Raul was a great guide. The food was fantastic as was the explanation of the places we were visiting and the history of the area. My 11-year old daughter also had a great time and tried almost all the food. She even asked for seconds at one of the taco stands, which was sold as the best taco in the entire world. Thank you again, Culinary Backstreets, for exceeding expectations.
Wow!!!! I absolutely cannot speak highly enough of this tour! Eduardo was an incredibly kind and conscientious guide, taking extra time to show us his favorite little spots. In addition to the amazing food, we also learned history and saw incredible art. We got to try delicious food in places that we probably would have never thought to go ourselves, and in the process became immersed in CDMX in a way that we never could have on our own. I cannot speak highly enough of this tour, possibly the best guided tour we have ever taken!
A fantastic and delicious day with Eduardo! A great way to see the city while sampling great food. Learned about culinary history, tried things way off the tourist trail, and capped it off with a mezcal tasting. As a bonus, Eduardo shared interesting bits of history and showed us beautiful murals.
Victor was fantastic: energetic, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. We loved the combination of history and food.
Rigel was the most hospitable and knowledgeable guide. His expertise of Mexico City’s history, food, and mezcal runs deep. It was such a helpful and fun tour to get us acquainted with this complex city. Having a better understanding of the layers of Mexico City , literally and figuratively, gives us the context needed to have a more meaningful and enriched experience.
Our guide was extremely informative and the food was delicious!
Riguel was exceptional! So knowledgeable about the food, culture and history. And so personable and nice! Everything we tasted was delicious!! The mezcal tasting was the perfect ending and we learned so much about mezcal. I would highly recommend this experience.
I loved every minute of this tour. It was not only a great culinary introduction to Centro, but also a historical journey as well. My guide, Julian, was very personable and kind with a great sense of humor. As a solo traveler, these kinds of tours are absolute gems. Glad I booked!
Our Centro Historico food tour was incredible. Eduardo was very knowledgable and had great energy. He created a welcoming and fun vibe for everyone. The food was varied, authentic and most of all very delicious. The tour included fascinating information about the culture, architecture, art, and archeology of the area. This was one of our best days in CDMX. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our tour with Liz. She taught us so much about the history of Mexico City and the food was so great!
This tour offers a terrific blend of history and local gustatory delights, through parts of El Centro that you may not otherwise experience.
We loved the CDMX Centro Histórico Culinary Backstreets tour. Eduardo's perspective as a formally trained chef with a restaurant in town wasintriguing. He traced the roots of Mexican history to show us how key ingredients evolved throughout the different periods of Mexico. Every stop was delicious, and they were definitely places we would not have sounds on our own. This was our eighth tour with Culinary Backstreets, and we would rank it towards the top.
Amazing tour! Eduardo, our guide, was knowledgeable, charismatic, and engaging. The food was amazing. Also it was great to actually eat with locals, rather than all the other tourists. Our only complaint was that the tour ran long (but some might say we got additional value for our money). Highly recommend!
We had an amazing experience with Rigel! The stops for food were good and learned tons about the history of the neighborhood as well.
Eduardo was incredible. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. I learned so much from him and would recommend any one who is in Mexico City go on a tour with him!
Fantastic way to learn more about Mexico City history, while eating your way thru the day! Bring an appetite! At least 6-7 stops, all the good was delicious. Some off the beaten path places with great food. Rigel, our guide, was fantastic! Knowledgeable, passionate about Mexican food, history, and culture. It was quite easy to spend 5+ hrs with him! There are alot of food tour options in Mexico City. This one was exceptional! Highly recommend!
Guide Nacho showed us all the places that you as a tourist won't easily come to. At all the food and drink, he passionately talked about the origin of the city and food culture. Really recommended! Unfortunately, the group photo was not in our email
