Just checked in, I made my reservation online. The cost was $1382.53 pesos plus $221.21 IVA which is taxes and $48.38 ISH which I am assuming is like a service fee. The ladies at the front desk wanted to charge me over $2300 pesos and when I said I already paid online, one of them said, well cancel your reservation online. What a stupid way to say that when the reservation is non refundable. If you can avoid staying here and and getting overcharged, find a different hotel.

We stopped by Roya prior in the early evening for a quick drink before our evening plans. Eric and Miguel served us at the bar. We appreciated their knowledge, expertise and friendly demeanor. Would recommend this experience to anyone. Having a sampler of 7 different cocktails was the perfect way to let our tastebuds explore the area and learn more about the culture of Mexico City! They were so friendly and were fun to experience singing and just having fun at their jobs. Will definitely be back!
If you have the chance to miss out on hotel. Do it. It’s the Worst hotel ive stayed at. AC not working , shower was damaged making whole bathroom flood. No power outlets near bed. Old hotel. Bad service didn’t provide any answer. Never stay here
This hotel should not be operating, let alone charging people money. Royal Reforma was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. First of all, there is NO heater. Mexico City gets cold at night, and the room was freezing. No warning, no solution, no apology. I was expected to just endure it. Completely unacceptable. Second, they randomly charge you extra fees with no explanation. Charges appear out of nowhere, and staff cannot clearly explain what they are for. It feels dishonest and predatory, like they assume guests won’t question it. The room itself was dark, depressing, and poorly designed. Minimal lighting, zero warmth, zero comfort. It felt more like a storage room than a hotel room. And the noise is unbelievable. The walls are paper-thin. You can hear people talking, moving, and existing in the next room as if they’re inside yours. Forget sleeping. Overall, this hotel is cold, noisy, uncomfortable, and shady with money. There are countless better options in Mexico City. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else. This was a complete waste of money and energy.
It was a pleasant 6 night/ 5 day stay. I will say that the reception staff is extremely kind and accommodating. On our first day, we noticed that the door to our room did not lock due to the key card entry not working, the front desk promptly moved us to a similar room. This room unfortunately did not have a working safe nor a functioning AC unit and once again the front desk changed our room without hesitation and very quickly. They upgraded us to one of the remodeled floors which was nicer than the room we had been in before. For this, I will say that the reception was kind, respectful, and quick to resolve our issues. As for the room, the bed is extremely uncomfortable. If you are used to sleeping on memory foam or a hybrid mattress, the beds at this hotel will not be comfortable for you. I found myself tossing and turning and unable to get a good night's rest due to the springs in the bed. As for the unrenovated floors, the bathrooms have old tiles and the ceramic on the bathtub is peeling. The carpet was also extremely old and dirty. This is something to keep in mind before booking. Luckily, I was upgraded to a renovated floor. The location was 10/10 if you are coming to explore, bar hop, and have restaurants and stores within walking distance. Despite being on a busy street I did not notice any noise from the ground floor while being in my room.
