We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Histórico Central. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, especially Karen, Andrea, Guadalupe, and Efren, for their kindness and attention. The location is excellent, close to several attractions in the historic center, most of which are within walking distance. The room was very clean, with good amenities, and the breakfast was good as well. Another interesting aspect is the possibility of having items from the Cafe Central included in the room rate at any time, which is very convenient. In summary, I recommend this hotel and hope to come back soon.

We recently spent 5 days exploring Mexico City and had a highly comfortable stay at Histórico Central. The absolute highlight of this hotel is its incredible food and drink perks. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious complimentary breakfast every single day of our stay. On top of that, having unlimited access to their 24-hour café—complete with hot, iced, and frappe coffees, matcha, chai, tea, and fresh sandwiches—was an amazing luxury. They also keep the hotel well-stocked with free bottles of water and tasty breadsticks, making us feel incredibly well taken care of. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and well-designed. While it didn't offer an outside view, the closet was spacious enough to easily hold clothing and luggage for two people for a 5-day stay, and the shower water pressure was perfectly fine. The only minor downside to our room placement was that we stayed on the first floor directly above the central courtyard. It got a bit noisy, particularly around 6:00 AM when the staff began setting up the tables for that breakfast service, so light sleepers might want to request a higher floor. In terms of location, the hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring the historic heart of CDMX. You can easily walk to Alameda Park, the Zócalo, and the Templo Mayor. If you plan to spend most of your time dining and museum-hopping in neighborhoods like Polanco, Roma Norte, or near Chapultepec Park, just keep in mind that it takes about 30 minutes by Uber to get over there. Overall, the stellar amenities, cleanliness, and hospitality make this a wonderful base in the historic center!
We couldn’t be happier with this hotel. It seems too good to be true. Beautiful both outside and in. Our room was perfectly clean, very comfy, and well-stocked. The service is impeccable and staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Believe it or not, they have a café that serves free food and drinks 24 hours, and the food is very good considering it’s free. The menu also has surprisingly large variety. This hotel is down the street from one of Mexico City’s most prolific taqueria, Los Cocuyos. In general, it’s in a very central spot of the city. Tip: If you’re a newcomer and need a SIM, don’t go to OXO, the convenience store next door. We had a lot of weird issues with our TelCel prepaid SIMs. Theres a TelCel location a short walk away, and had we gotten our SIMs directly from there, we likely would’ve shaved off about 4-5 hours of bs trying to figure out our phones. Just go there.
10/10! This isn't our first time staying at this hotel, and we keep coming back because it never disappoints. The location is great, the customer service is exceptional, and the staff always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The beds and pillows are incredibly comfortable making for a great night's sleep. The breakfast is delicious and the 24 hr cafe is very convenient. Every stay has been a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend this hotel. We can't wait to come back again! A special shout out to Armando and Valeria for their outstanding service, kindness, and attention to detail. They truly made our experience even more memorable. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
Hotel Histórico Central was truly the heart of our Mexico City adventure. The location couldn’t be better — just 2–3 blocks from the Zócalo and surrounded by incredible historical sites. Tour buses and the Touribus all meet right in that area, making it the perfect home base for exploring. The hotel itself felt clean, elegant, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping us navigate the city. Arturo and Jair were absolute standouts. Their kindness, attentiveness, and top‑tier service made every meal feel special. One of the biggest highlights was the 24‑hour “free” food service. It was unbelievably helpful after long days of walking 14k–19k steps through the city. Breakfast was made‑to‑order from the menu, and throughout the day there were sandwiches, pizza, soups, salads, and more. Many nights we ended our day with a light dinner right at the hotel. My father especially loved coming down each evening for a sandwich, soup, salad, and hot tea to unwind after exploring. Every night, returning to the hotel felt like coming home. We felt safe, cared for, and genuinely treated like family. This hotel played a huge part in making our trip unforgettable. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Histórico Central for an amazing experience. We can’t wait to return.
