Map was hard for me to follow. Information was good! I did better once I used the tour app and google maps together. Meteora was gorgeous!

The first of the monasteries in Meteora. Built in the late 14th century, this monastery served as a resting place for the many pilgrims who traveled to Meteora.
The Holy Monastery of St. Barbara Roussanou is a Greek Orthodox monastery located in the Meteora region of Greece, near the town of Kalambaka. It is one of six functioning monasteries in the area and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Holy Monastery of Varlaam, the second largest monastery in Meteora. It’s also a great example of how important defense was to the monks who built these monasteries.
Up ahead is the Holy Monastery of Great Meteoron, the largest monastery in Meteora. Like some of the other monasteries, it also has a second name, ‘The Metamorphosis of the Saviour’ monastery. But this monastery isn’t just big. It’s also the whole reason there are so many incredible monasteries in the first place!
The history of this monastery is a little sketchy, in part because it was built by different people at many different time periods. Some evidence suggests the earliest construction may have begun in the mid-1300s, but the bulk of the monastery likely dates back to sometime around the 1470s.
This is the most accessible of Meteora’s many monasteries, so don’t worry about climbing another 100 or two steps for this one! All you need to do to access it, is to cross a sturdy stone bridge. The Monastery of Saint Stephen is also simultaneously one of the oldest and newest monasteries in Meteora.

We enjoyed the tour. It made getting around on our own without having to listen to someone nonstop very enjoyable. We could turn it on and off as we desired. It's all very organized and easy to use. It's good value for the money.
The guide was a little disappointing. Well written and narrated, but content was on the superficial side. I could’ve learned as much (or more) with my own Google or Wikipedia search. Definitely didn’t need to buy one per person. There is no real commentary for inside the monasteries on this guide (you need to buy others for that), so you can listen in the car or outside the buildings on speaker without bothering anyone. Your hotel will be able to offer you a map of the area and Google Maps will help you get everywhere.
This was our first app based self guided tour and we found it to be fun. It was very good to have a route to follow and we enjoyed the commentary at each location. Our hotel was in the middle of the route which created some confusion. Guidance to the start point would have been a nice feature. Also, in CarPlay we only were able to access the audio. It would have been very helpful to have the map on the vehicles screen especially on these twisty roads.
Once we downloaded it and got to the meeting place, it was a very good tour. The problem was getting it downloaded and started.
All the best. Accuurate. Story is solid and adds value to understanding the history. Map is clear, foreseen next stop. There was no problem to take loooon loop to drive same road several times and loong lunch.
A great app when visiting Meteora and you don't want an organised tour. The info is very good and the directions are excellent. My only gripe is that the narrator does not pronounce the word 'route' correctly 🤣🤣
We really enjoyed the Meteora driving tour and found it informative and fairly easy to follow. The scenery was dramatic and beautiful. We enjoyed visiting the monasteries and finding out about the history of the area.
We loved this self-guided tour. It told us exactly where to go and gave information about what we were seeing. The whole family enjoyed it and it was way more affordable for a family of 6 than doing a guided tour. By the end of it we were so relieved we didn’t pay the big bucks because this tour was wonderful.
The storytelling was quite nice and informative. We really liked that it played automatically as we drove past certain points. The only issue we had with it is that it only starts in the parking of the first monastery but that parking is usually packed and pretty much hard to reach. It would be nice if it would allow the option to start anywhere near the first monastery, instead of specifically in the parking lot. Besides that, it was worth it and we really enjoyed the tips about less crowded spots to take pictures. We definitely recommend it.
It was very helpful to have it play automatically as I was driving. It was a great resource. Sometimes it would start up on its own when we were walking to some of the monasteries. I would recommend listening to it once through before you head out to get the most out of it. We'll worth the price when compared to a guided tour
The audio guide was absolutely brilliant! Really bought the drive through Meteora to life. The map and directions were very good. Definitely recommend it
The Meteora self-guided driving audio tour is an absolute gem! The easy-to-use audio narration, GPS navigation, and breathtaking viewpoints made our adventure unforgettable. Exploring the monasteries and ancient rocks at our own pace was a truly immersive experience. Highly recommended! ⛰️🚗🎧
Very helpful. User friendly. Updated enough. Help in finding information. It doesn't stick at all.
A nice trip along the meteor monasteries. The app works perfectly and takes you past the most beautiful places we wouldn't otherwise go.
