We saw two wineries and they were both great! The wine was obviously fantastic but so was the lunch and educational experience during the day.

Alta Vista was founded by Count Patrick d’Aulan, heir of more than 250 years of family tradition in the winemaking industry. The technical team is a multidisciplinary and bicultural one, whose members have been working together since the beginning of the project. Nominated in the category ‘New World Winery of the Year 2016’ by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
Casa de los Vientos is one of the main wine-making and exporting wineries in Argentina and a leader in sustainable initiatives The company owns 1,657 hectares of vineyards located mainly in the Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco regions of Mendoza.
The water of the Andes Mountains did not only allay the thirst of a healthy ambition of progress and freedom, but it also allowed the family to settle down in this beautiful country, and the growing of a vigorous family tree, reaching nowadays five generations. They planted vines still they remain standing straight as faithful witnesses of that challenge. They built vessels with their own hands to allow the miracle of turning grapes into wine. Making this dream come true is the next chapter, and writing it is the job of the generations to come. Just like that end, that is not the end, this is the beginning of a story; the dawn puts an end to the darkness of the night and at the same time, it is the beginning of a new day full of light, energy and hope.
Founded in 1906, Laur was a pioneer not only in the implementation of olive trees in Mendoza but also in the olive oil industry. In 2020, it was named the 3rd most important olive oil factory in the world and the 1st one in Argentina.

We had a wonderful tour guide, Lucia Romero, who was very professional, giving the tour in three languages to accommodate our diverse community of visitors, very knowledgeable, personable and warm. We visited three beautiful wineries and had a wonderful lunch meal in the third one, followed by the sampling of the olive oils produced on the premises. The only negative part for me was that during the tour of the second winery we visited, my only language being English, the tour guide virtually ignored me speaking to everyone else exclusively in Spanish not bothering translating the information into English so that I could understand.
We worked with Kahuak through a recommendation by a good friend back in the US. Absolutely a great day...3 vineyards, awesome sights, and a fabulous lunch!!! And our guide and driver were absolutely fabulous! Safe, knowledgeable, and just great guys to get to know!! We will work with Kahuak when we adventure to Mendoza again!!!
It was a fantastic experience. Our guide Lucia was great and very knowledgeable. In highly recommended this tour for anyone visiting Mendoza
We did two days of wine tours in Mendoza, both ending with delicious lunches. Our guides were fabulous as were the hosts at the wineries. We'd love to do it all again!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great wines and good lunch. The vineyards visited were very attractive.
Denise and Gustavo organized a wonderful tour through Mendoza! We have had a very good impression of this beautiful old city and its monuments. The next day we had a wine tasting tour with them. That was also very exiting!
Great experience and got to visit three vineyards plus an olive oil factory. Most of the people on the tour I was on were Spanish speakers and even though I understand Spanish very well, I was still given a much smaller group tour in English with 2 others. If you're trying to improve your Spanish it's a super helpful tour, because you can interact with others, while still getting the chance to hear all the information in English.
Great tour , very relaxed , we had time to enjoy everything . Planned with enough the we never felt rushed. The olive oil plant was a plus , fantastic , lots of information
wonderful tour and includes a good amount for the price; the tour guides were knowledgeable and the staff was overall very accommodating - would recommend!
Everyone was so friendly, the wine was amazing and the food was delicious! I was the only English speaker on my trip but the guide translated everything and the people on the trip were very nice!
We were 2 US travelers who spoke little to no Spanish and we were the only English speakers on the tour so every winery we went to we got a private tour in English. The tastings were lovely with ample wine offered. Lunch was delicious and in a cute location. Also the olive oil factory was great to tour and taste at.
In the tour they gave interesting information on different aspects of the wine making. The tasting was interesting. The lunch was amazing. Everything went very smoothly with the very good tour guide who took care of everything very well.
I’ve been in Argentina almost a month and have done a few tours. For English this is the best tour to date. The guide spoke good English and left no one out, and they separated the English speakers at each location with an English speaking guide... excellent! The bodegas were very good and the lunch at the end was superb! It was a little longer than I expected and I was picked up 20 minutes late (but first dropped off). Suggest bringing snacks and water since lunch is at the end. Highly recommend!
March 6: My husband and I went on the one day wine and olive tasting day tour with lunch. I had no expectations as we have many great wineries where we live. We were picked up in good time and our guide spoke Spanish (for) the majority of the group, then also english for us. Once we had all been picked up we went to Tempas Alba. The woman who then guided us through the wine making process was a family member, very professional passionate, just lovely. V interesting about the research this winery is doing. She spoke great English and really was mindful of our group and our understanding. We had a great tasting experience, without the hard sell, that sometimes comes with these tours. The next stop was Pastrai, where we tasted olive oils and sampled the body oils and creams. This was good timing; good to have some nibbles ( bread and oils) before going to winery 2. This was Lagarde. Again we had someone (Laura) from the winery take us through the tour and tasting. She spoke great English and engaged really well with the group. Then back into the van. We went to Clos de Chacras for a 3 course lunch with paired wines. The food was wonderful, small (but perfectly sized) entrees, good sized mains and smallish desserts. The presentation was excellent. Our meal finished about 5ish (maybe just after) and then we were dropped back to our hotels about 6. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and highly recommend it. Again I really like the fact that we were not pressured into buying the wine ( especially as travellers without much luggage space).
Very good interesting day. We enjoyed hearing about and seeing the wine making processes and tasting a selection of wines at the first two wineries. Then we enjoyed a long lunch at the third winery with wines to match the food. In between we also visited an olive oil factory just as good it its own way. Our guide Frederico was excellent.👌
Really excellent well paced wine tour. Started at Tempus Alba winery with excellent explanation from member of the winders. Then on to olive oil producers which was good to pace the wine tasting. Then another excellent look around LaGarde then a really excellent meal at Clos de Charcas
From pickup/drop-off at our hotel this was an excellent introduction to 3 top wineries and an olive oil press. 3-4 abundant wine tastings at each, a superb lunch, a guide who spoke excellent English and gave good commentary, a group of around 16. Totally recommend this tour - inexpensive and a brilliant, unrushed experience. The wines too were varied and high quality.
We had an excellent experience with Steven as our tour guide. He was very well spoken in both Spanish and English. The three wineries we visited were each different in history and process and had an excellent tasting portion. The olive oil tasting and your was fast but enjoyable. Highly recommend for first time visitors to Mendoza!
Kahuak arranged transportation from the airport directly to a winery and then to our hotel, and an entire day of visiting wineries and lunch. Each winery we visited was spectacular, especially Bodega Matervini, and lunch at Finca Decero. Our drivers, Dario and David, were extremely courteous and knowledgeable and went out of their way to be helpful. We will definitely use Kahuak when we return for our next visit! Advance reservations are probably for the best.
Highly recommend this tour. Early start was hard but really worth it. Interesting wine tour with no repitition. Guide Flavia and driver were super and there was never a rush. Had excellent 4 course lunch in last winery and tour had great mix of friendly people from different nationalities. Good value too compared to tours our hotel Diplomatic recommended
Really enjoyed the wineries, and the visit to the olive oil factory was a nice touch. I didn't have a very friendly experience though. Typically I am good with meeting people and being social on my own, but this was tougher.
Really loved all of the wineries that we visited, and the tours even though the weather was bad so we didn't spend much time in the actual vineyard vines. The olive oil factory was a great addition, and we really enjoyed sampling all of the oils. Lunch at the last vineyard was delicious and paired with plenty of wine. Only criticism is the long pickup window-- we expected to be picked up at 8:30am but the bus did not arrive until 9:15am.
Great Tour on October 7th, we were picked up on time from our Hotel, had a 16 seat minibus, we were the only English people on board but our Guide Anita spoke fluent Spanish, Portuguese and English so we were kept well informed. We even had our own guides for just the two of us at two of the Vineyards! Tried 4 wines at each of the first two, also various oils at the Olive growers, the 'Lunch' at the last vineyard was amazing - a three course meal with wine to accompany each course, coffee to follow - you won't need dinner after that! Truly cannot recommend this tour enough!
Great place to pass a lovely afternoon Great food on a deck with outstanding views Definitely worth the visit The dessert sweet Malbec is to die for
The tour started out with a visit to Bodega Tempus Alba, a boutique winery in every sense. Our guide Amir (who took the English-speaking tour) was fantastic. He introduced the group to the philosophy underpinning the wineries approach to perfecting the grapes grown onsite. He was kind, sincere and most importantly knew what he was talking about. After leading our group through a tour of the winery and explaining the nuts and bolts of the wine making process, he stepped the group through four tastings. While some people on the tour knew almost nothing about wine, a few people knew some things about wine, and myself a bit more, Amir ensured everyone was comfortable and was happy to answer any questions. I purchased a bottle of their flagship wine Vero Malbec after I was offered a tasting (not included as part of the tour, but no charge to tour guests). This was a perfect way to start the day. Highly recommend Tempus Alba. The next stop was the olive oil factory. This was pleasant, informative and a welcome addition to the tour. The host was friendly and was happy to answer questions. The third stop was Bodega Luigi Bosca. The wines are ok, but nothing spectacular. Strangely during a set tasting our group was poured the sparkling white after trying three red wines. Classic mistake. There was also a white wine offered to begin with, don't know what type of wine it was as it wasn't offered to me, but it was offered to others in the group....weird! What was even weirder was I asked if they offer tastings on the Cabernet Franc which they did....but they don't sell it. Then I asked to try the Cabernet Bouchet, which they sell but don't offer tastings. To cap it off, I purchased a bottle of wine for approx. AUD$50 and they charged me twice. Basically, an average winery and/or staff that don't know what they’re doing. Disappointing after such as great experience at Tempus Alba. Lunch was a relaxing event, offering four courses with matching wines (including options for vegetarians). This was a nice way to finish the day and capped off what was all up an enjoyable day trip from Mendoza. The tour host Anita (Ana) was lovely, great fun and can speak multiple languages. I highly recommend the tour for people starting out with wine knowledge or those looking to learn a bit more.
I and my family is highly satisfied with this particular tour. Timing, winery selection and the lunch offered were great! Our tour guide was excellent, fluent in both English and Spanish and providing detailed information on all the wineries and Mendoza region in general. I'd definitely recommend this tour and in case of a chance will take it again!
Mendoza is the place to visit if you love wine and this tour gives you just that. Plenty of luxury wine, a gourmet meal and a great atmosphere to make friends.
if you are looking for a cheap activity to do, this one it is a great activity.. but don't expect too much !! I like it and I recommended .. but can not give more points !!
My family and I did the winery tour with tasting, with horseback ride through a vineyard followed by lunch at the winery (Nieto Senetiene) about 30 minutes outside of Mendoza. We were picked up from our hotel by driver, Victor, and tour guide, Flavia. We loved them! They were absolutely wonderful. Flavia spent the whole day with us. We can’t say enough about her. This whole excursion gets a 10/10 from us. Communication with Kahuak via email was easy and clear. Fabulous company, fabulous experience. Highly recommend.
My husband and I loved the tour, we visited three wineries with excellent experiences in tasting and lunch. We also visited an olive oil producer which was entertaining and delicious as well. Staff was courteous, smiling, knowledgeable. They were about 30 minutes late picking us up, but the day more than made up for the wait. Definitely recommended!
The tour is very interesting. The guide was an expert in wine. We visited 3 wineries and one olive oil factory. The tour in the wineries was leaded by local guides and was very comprehensive and interesting. The lunch (in one of the wineries) was excellent
This was one of the best tours I have ever taken. Our tour Guide Ana was excellent in explaining the places we would visit and did not rush us throughout the entire day. We visited 2 Bodega along with an olive oil factory. The wine tastings were very generous but most importantly the tours were extremely informative. I live close to the Napa Valley in California and I feel I learnt more on this trip then the tours I have taken before. To end the day we had a nice lunch in a lovely restaurant and the wine kept flowing. I highly recommend this tour.
Firstly thank you Lina your passion and energy made this trip a joy. Three bodegas and trip to an olive oil factory were all interesting and varying in tastes. Lunch was impeccable and was an amazing finish to the day. Small tour group and we were all sociable. I would highly recommend.
I went on the day long Experience Lujan de Cuyo II Tour. Our guide was Fernando and he was a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. His English language skills are top notch as is his knowledge of wine and wine making. To top things off he is extremely witty and a lot of fun to spend a day with. We went to three beautiful wineries all in gorgeous settings. The final stop was a great lunch with a wine pairings. It was a great finale to a great day. I thought this tour was on the expensive side of pricing but I was very glad I choose to go on this tour. I highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky you will have Fernando as your guide.
WOW! This tour was awesome! Our tour guide Lina and Driver Omar were super friendly and patient. You can immediately identify the wonderful and professional relationships they have with the bodegas and olivera. We visited 3 bodegas (Tempus Alba, Luigi Bosca y Clos de Chacras), 1 olivera (Pasrai). All of the locations are within a perfect distance from each other, therefore, you will not go over on time. Additionally, we had lunch (or an early dinner) at Clos the Chacras. The meal was delicious! In my opinion, the tour bus was not very big, however, it was winter and we all had coats on in addition to buying wine at each stop, therefore, I can not remove a star for that. The bus was clean and the driver was very cautious. I plan on calling them next year when I go back to Mendoza to try another one of their tours!
So...for starters my review is 100% unbiased and honest. So first off my tour was late....I know they said between 0830-0900...but I am a bit punctual. So when they came at 0910 and I was on the phone with the company it was nothing but my paranoia of being late. Also upfront....my tour should have included something to do with an olive place...At the end of the day....not quite sure if I had the right tour but..I can say this...the company, Kahuak..TOP NOTCH..Ana... the best...even though the places I went were not what was on the tour....i have no regrets or complaints....the lunch at El Enemigo..ufff..awesome..apart from the fact that it was also an olive place...which made my tour complete..... thank u TripAdvisor..thank u Viator and thank u Kahuak!!! Cheers and Saludos Ana!!
This is a great tour. The three bodegas are beautiful and unique with rich histories. Everyone we met was knowledgeable and ready to share with the guests. We also enjoyed a stop at an olive oil factory where we learned about the production and sampled the products. All you f this plus lots of wine tasting and a fantastic lunch made for a perfect day!
Wow wow wow!!!! This tour might be a bit expensive, but people, ever cent you spend is well worth spent! The tour is absolutely amazing! The wineries we visited were all TOP, but the best thing in all was definitely the lunch in Andeluna. Oh my god, it’s been a long time since I ate and drank in such a high quality! I can definitely recommend this tour to anyone! Our guide was super friendly and helpful! Loved the day!
Pick up was fairly quick and painless and we proceeded to Lujan del Cuyo area seeing three wineries, ReNacer, Caelum and Ruca Malen where we had an eight course tasting menu with wine flight. Although we had a fairly mixed group of Greek, Brazilian, British and Argentinian our guide for the day Anita was fantastic and very knowledgable as were the individual wine guides All the wineries were good from small boutique to medium size and set with incredible views of the snow capped Andes behind. The tasting menu and wine flight at Ruca Malen was fantastic and the highlight of the day, in particular the Pork and Filet mignon were fantastic with beautiful complementary wines. The bus back to town was really funny with music and singalongs! As the motto in I think the Caelum winery said " we came as strangers and left as Friends"
We travel a lot and have booked many excursions and tours, this one was fantastic! The personalized attention and care by both the tour guides and those at the places we visited were exceptional. In addition, the locations we were taken to were both beautiful and authentic. We ended the day with an authentic Argentinian pasta lunch at a lovely property wherein the true functioning olive oil factory was located. It was a magnificent day we won’t soon forget. Special thanks and kudos to Esteban our guide and Bruno and Agustina whom we met at the wineries.
We were supposed to be booked on a semi private/ small group tour for the day and started off at the Tempus Alba winery, followed by a visit to the Pasrai Olive Oil factory, and then a visit to Luigi Bosca winery ending with a boxed lunch at the Alta Vista winery. The start was not great as myself (English speaker) and my partner who is a native Spanish speaker were joined to a group of eighteen Spanish speakers. I would not describe this as small or semi private. Despite us being told the tour would be in English my partner had to go and get the guide and ask him to come and do the tour in English for me which then meant I was taken away on my own to have the tour in English. We had expected the tour would be English or we would be in a small group of English speaking people. My partner is fluent in English. The tour was fine and the tastings ok. The olive oil visit was better with the group together and explanations in English and Spanish. The Luigi Bosca tour was bi lingual and better than the first winery and then we had lunch at Alta Vista where the explanations were only in Spanish. We travelled from Santiago specifically to visit Mendoza and my advice would be if you are passing by Mendoza to stop and do a wine tour but it is not a destination in its own right and there are amazing wineries around Santiago in Chile. The city also is nothing special at all. We were disappointed with the group being a Spanish speaking group and the size of the group at 20 was not what we had been booked for.

Definitely a reason behind our trip to Argentina! Guide well knowledgeable. Excellent winery visits and wine tasting sessions with good conversation in English with owner or their representatives. Scenery of the Andes quite spectacular.

We just didn't find the tour that exciting. There was some English from the guide and from winery staffs, but not always. The lunch turned out to be a picnic lunch under some trees that were inhabited by a flock of birds. The tables and chairs were covered with bird doo when we arrived, which didn't set a pleasant tone and even though staff cleaned it up, the birds added more, to the tables and the guests,as we tried to eat. The staff tried to charge us 25 for a car back to our hotel that we didn't want and had turned down--and which they had offered for 10 in the first place.

A tour for wine lovers only! We visited 3 beautiful wineries and an olive oil factory and had ample tastings at each one. Lunch was served picnic style on the lovely grounds of the last winery. Our tour guide was terrific. Great day!

This was such a lovely wine tour.

Two highlights: The first winery's tour was given by the owner herself. It was awesome to hear the passion and wine tasting was very well setup. Two other wine tour was just as lovely. The 2nd highlight was their lunch. The third winery had a large green space where they set up different areas for people to sit and enjoy gourmet lunch. Some where tables, but there were areas where you get to sit on the grass with full picnic setup! It was so cute and definitely a highlight.

Con: You will likely be mixed with spanish speakers. As an american, I feel like I missed out on much of the narratives. They did make best attempt to do the tour in english and spanish, but inevitably they are better and lengthier with spanish.

The tour was really good.... obviously some good wines and beautiful scenery. Since I don't speak Spanish, the guide tried her best to ensure there was always someone to translate for me. I would recommend this tour!

This tour touched my soul. It was the highlight of my trip in Argentina. The tour guides were knowledgeable, the wineries beautiful, the food delicious. Last night I opened one of the wine bottles I bought during the tour and all the memories came back to mind, I got emotional....

The trip was disappointing - we signed up for an english tour and were put with a spanish group. While the guide did her best to accommodate, we still feel we missed out on a lot. Secondly, we feel it was overpriced. We would recommend picking a different tour.

Three wineries to visit. A modern one, a very old historic one and a third which was slightly larger than the others. Very good guide, Flavia, and the places were all different, wine tasting was good. We also saw an olive oil plant, again family run and historic. The birds in the gardens were parakeets and they had amazing condominium type nests. Excellent picnic at the third winery, lovely gardens there too.
Great day out, fully recommend.
