Our guide, Pablo, was very attentive. He drove us from downtown to Aconcagua Park and guided us up to the Confluencia base and back. When we reached Confluencia, he prepared a delicious lunch for us. The sceneries are breathtaking and definitely worth a visit. In total, we walked 16km.

It was an amazing day. Pablo is very professional and fun. he helped us with our Spanish skills and he was able to communicate to us in English, which was helpful! Highly recommend him and this company
Highly recommend La Montana guided tours. As an older solo female traveler it can be frustrating to get out to remote areas of interest. Local Mendoza bus only goes out toward Aconcagua a few times a day & takes twice as long! La Montana found a small group within my available dates with space so I didn't have to pay a single supplement. Cristina, our guide & driver, was bilingual, warm, experienced & went out of her way to include me often in the random chats throughout the day so my lack of Spanish was not an isolating barrier. I felt more connected to my fellow hikers. She slowed the pace & encouraged as needed to accommodate each persons needs, experience & comfort. One guest had mild altitude issues so we all supported & watched out for each other. At Confluencia, base camp 1, a delicious surprise lunch appeared from our guides pack! Fresh bread, cheeses, avocado, cherry tomatoes, salami, hard boiled eggs, hot tea & we all shared what trail snacks we had with each other & the other small group seated at the table. A perfect day to a goal I'd set 8 years prior! You can't go wrong with a tour booked with La Montana in Mendoza! Take it from this skeptic & fiercely independent traveler
Very well organized, informative and entertaining. Our guide Fernando was tremendous. Transferring us to Aconcagua, giving information and health tips where needed. Our lunch and snack stop was also provided by Fernando. First class guide
A great hike, friendly guide, and an overall worthwhile experience. Altitude was not a factor, and we traveled rapidly, which suited me.
I had always wanted to see Aconcagua. Cristina was a superb guide: knowledgeable, informative and a great companion in the mountains for a solo traveller. She set just the right pace for me at my age and we reached Confluencia after 3 hours. At the camp, Cristina pulled out of her rucksack an incredible lunch: boiled eggs, fresh bread, salami, cheese and, can you believe it, an avocado and a cup of tea. Wow! It took 2.5 hours to get back down and we then drove back to Mendoza. The weather was glorious. A wonderful experience and grateful thanks to Cristina for making it so enjoyable.
Great hike! Highly recommended, the guides and group were great, we will def recommend to our friends
The hike to Confluencia base was filled with amazing views with a rewarding finish of seeing Aconcagua The guide Vanina was very friendly, punctual, knowledgeable and informative She did a great job as a guide
My friend and I had an amazing experience on the Aconcagua. Our guide Zaira is a professional mountaineer and truly loves her job and the national park. She provided interesting information about the nature and her good mood and energetic character made the trekking to Confluencia an awesome adventure. The lunch prepeard by the head of the company (Joaquin) was besides the nature one of the highlights of the tour. I definitely would recommend doing the tour with this company!
Joaquin and this trek were the best way to end our stay here in Argentina. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his work and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. He is professional, easy to talk with and made the whole day absolutely wonderful. The trek is beautiful and he had little touches that made the day even more memorable. Could not recommend him enough for any trek you are thinking of treking with him!!
The hike to Confluencia base camp with Destino Montaña was excellent. Our guide Joaquin (who is also the owner) was lovely and knowledgable - full of information about the mountain and surrounding environment. He is really passionate about his business and committed to giving the customer a unique and personalised experience. After the 3 hour hike to Confluencia, we had a delicious lunch before heading back down. If you are thinking of hiking in the Mendoza area, I highly recommend Destino Montaña for fabulous service and a great experience.
When we were first planning our visit to Mendoza, we thought of devoting most of our time to wineries and little trips around the city. After doing some research and talking to locals, we were told by many to visit Aconcagua or at least try to fit a trip into our schedule to visit the Andes mountains. We went on tripadvisor, FB and other travel sites but we only found multiple day trips to the mountains, or trips that drove you in a car/van around different sights the whole day. There were only very few "active" options - either riding horses, hiking nearby mountains, or rafting. My gf and I really enjoying hiking so we didn't want to spend 7-8 hours in a car and after a ton of research, we were fortunate to find Destino Montaña (2 days before our trip): Since our first contact through WhatsApp, Joaco was extremely helpful, straightforward and clearly knowledgeable of the mountains and different options. Our goal was to see a beautiful landscape and have the opportunity to hike for a couple of hours in the mountain. We agreed to visit and hike Arenales in Valle de Uco, and Joaco agreed to pick us up at 8am. He showed up on time, and mentioned that the weather didn't look good in Arenales or Vallecitos - there was a high chance of winds and rain, which would've made the trip and hike a little miserable baed on our goals. He suggested instead making the drive to Aconcagua and hike up to camp Confluencia, the first basecamp at 3400 meters. Long story short, we said yes, drove 3 hours to the base of Aconcagua and the landscape was absolutely incredible. We hiked to the base for 3 hours, had lunch for about an hour, came down and then drove back to the city. Joaco was very knowledgeable of the history of the area, the mountains and a great mountaineer - guiding us at a good pace to enjoy the hike/walk, and sharing really interesting stories along the way. We had some mate, a really good and healthy sandwich for lunch, some coffee and snacks, and overall an awesome time. I'd highly recommend Destino Montaña for anyone who wants to do a private tour in the mountains with a true expert and for a really good price - Joaco is not only certified, but graduated as a mountaineer. It was also very fortunate that we had a flexible guide who was willing to change our itinerary and hike at our pace to make our experience worthwhile. We had such a great time that after this trip, we made it one of our goals to come back and hike Aconcagua guided by Joaco!
An incredible experience, with surreal landscapes and the feeling of being closest to the top of the Americas. The road is already sensational and when you arrive in the park you are very impressed with the view to the Aconcagua. The trail to Camp Confluencia has a moderate difficulty, but it is important that the person have physical conditioning to withstand the walk and the effects of altitude. Finally, our guide Tuti was excellent, with a lot of experience on the rise, on the region and on the history of the place. He guided us all the time and was at our pace. Now we want to go back to climb even further.
The company is very reliable, the guys from the one who took us to the guide were excellent at all times taking care of us. Highly recommended
it went really well! that tiredness that makes you happy! 30 thousand steps, almost 800m of elevation counting ups and downs along the way (16km round trip). beautiful photos and the guide (ferney)/driver who were very kind. For those unaware, remember that it takes 3 hours there and 3 hours back by car to leave the trek! So we left at 7:30 and arrived at 8 at night! incredible trip. Just a tip for the agency that a car like the Chronos (simple sedan) with 3 large adults in the back gets complicated on a long car trip. Be prepared for a lot of wind and dust. Use sunscreen and bring plenty of water (a 1.5l bottle/person works well). We didn't use waterproof shoes, we didn't need them and they are lighter and more comfortable.
An unforgettable experience! Without a doubt it is a trekking with a certain level of demand but it was possible! Mauricio, the guide, respected everyone's time and took care of us the entire way. The park is beautiful, the path is impressive and when after several hours of hiking uphill we arrived at the camp it was an incredible moment, a beautiful memory to end the year. We ate a very delicious snack, rested for a while and headed back to be at the park gate at 6:00 p.m. I would do it again and I highly recommend the Destino Montaña team.
We took the tour to Confluence base camp with Guide Christian, and everything was great! Everything as agreed, and the guide was very attentive. Thanks!
The company Destino Montaña is excellent, both Joaquín who explains all the details, and Vanina, who was the guide and is a genius. I had my doubts about whether I would be able to reach Confluencia because it is a physically demanding trek, but with Vanina's guidance and trust I was able to achieve the goal. And all of that was a great satisfaction, achieving something very important for me, which is reaching the first base camp of Aconcagua, and the warm and human treatment of this company. I had already done a Trek in Cordon del Plata with them, I chose them again and if I decide to do another more demanding Trek I will clearly choose them again.
Very good experience! Serious and dedicated Enterprise with professional, trained and experienced guides. Highly recommended!
