Itinerary
Start your full-day journey from Mendoza with an early morning pickup from your selected hotel. Travel west along Route 7, following the Mendoza River and entering the spectacular landscapes of the Andes.
Enjoy scenic views of Potrerillos Dam and the surrounding Cordon del Plata mountain range as we make our way toward Uspallata. In Uspallata, take a break to explore this historic mountain town and learn about its pre-Hispanic and Inca heritage.
Continue deeper into the Andes, passing through the mountain settlements of Picheuta, Polvaredas and Punta de Vacas. We’ll also stop at Los Penitentes, a former ski resort surrounded by dramatic Andean peaks, where you can enjoy panoramic views and take photographs.
Discover two of the highlights of the High Andes. Visit Puente del Inca, a spectacular natural rock formation shaped by geological and thermal processes. Then continue to the Aconcagua viewpoint, where you can admire Aconcagua at 6,961 meters (22,838 feet), the highest mountain in the Americas, weather permitting.
Continue toward the Chilean border and reach Las Cuevas, a small mountain village located at approximately 3,200 meters (10,500 feet) above sea level. From January to March, and when weather and road conditions allow, the tour may continue to the Cristo Redentor de los Andes, a landmark symbolizing peace and friendship between Argentina and Chile. Please note that access to Cristo Redentor is seasonal and subject to weather, road conditions and traffic.
After exploring the High Andes, relax on the journey back to Mendoza. The tour normally returns to your selected hotel at approximately 5:30 PM. During the summer months, when the visit to Cristo Redentor is possible, the return may be delayed until approximately 8:00 PM.

Full day trip worth every penny. Knowledgeable guide (Federico) who spoke Spanish at a speed I could understand and then repeated in English for my benefit. Stunning scenery. Sufficient time at each point of interest. Good value lunch at 20,000 ARS including a drink. No hesitation in recommending. Take something warm to wear it gets a little chilly. Take a water bottle and fill it up in the stream.
It's an impressive 10-hour bus ride through the mountains with stops at interesting view points. Unfortunately our tour guide Laila did not speak English but she was creative and at every stop she asked a guide from a different tour to give us a short summary in English. It would have been nice if the company had provided a flyer with the basic information in English. Our guide was very caring about the travelers.
Terrible We paid for an English guide and she did not speak English She spoke Spanish and did not speak to us Very rude And Viator did not want to refund full amount first as they were not interested . Very poor and do not recommend Ruined the day . Avoid them
Absolutely terrible experience AVOID THIS TOUR Viator sold me an English tour but everything was in Spanish and therefore a totally wasted day There were rude and made no efforts They arrived after 8am when pick up should have been 7am - no call to tell me , no apology I paid more money for an English tour and this was a total rip off
Very nice hotel, courteous staff close to everything, very convinient, close to a walking park and main roads, super stores like Walmart, taxis available 24 hours,
We had a trip scheduled. Location and time for pickup was all confirmed and we had to cancel due to weather. Rescheduled for the falling day but they never confirmed with me the original pickup location and time. They changed it and never responded to any of my attempts to correct, now they won't refund my money. DONT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!
If you are a fan of geology, then this trip is not to be missed. The andes vary greatly in colour with no 2 peaks the same. The scenery was stunning. The tour guide very helpful. However, a word of warning. If you suffer from altitude sickness fhen beware. I started to feel it from the stop at the natural arch Bridge. And was feeling quite ill by the time I got to cristo redentor. That said, my cousin who was travelling with me was completely unaffected.
Our tour was with Cepa Turismo and was excellent. Rocío the guide spoke good English and did a great job. Carlito the driver was v safe especially on the dirt road to Christ the Redeemer
NOT-ac2ccb83-d38d-482b-ac8f-98d2ac0d4a47@expmessaging.tripadvisor.com Details Dear Paloma, trust you are doing well. I was full of expectation when I booked the tour from Mendoza to the Mountains "a full-day english guided event in a particular small group with activities like hiking to surrounding Mountains including Aconcagua-View". The day before I had a wonderful afternoon spent on a wine yard in Mendoza with cellar tour and tasting. Extraordinary!!! To put it straight. I am a Tour Guide for more then 15 years. I worked for a Safari-Company from Cape Town in whole Southern Africa and in 2018 I joined a Tour Operator in Germany. I know exactly how hard we strive to meet customers expectations day by day. But my experience today outside Mendoza was a really dark moment. To be honest, my expectations were not filled at all. Since I could only book tour via Internet (got to Mendoza on sunday and tourism offices closed) I trusted your well advertised offer. At the end I realised that I payed double the amount of money then my fellow travellers. I call that outrageous or a rip off. Please read this. In the morning I got to meeting point at Hotel by 7.15 am. Pick-up was arranged by 7.30 am. The bus did not show up by 7.30 and by 7.45 I phoned your office by extra expenses of 8,00 Euro on my phone bill. Then we started for another 30 Minutes to collect more clients in town. It is an unacceptable waste of time. You should have let me know in advance. At 8.00 am the bus showed up with tour leader Cynthia. Instead of travelling with a particular "small tour group" I ended up in a Mercedes Sprinter with 16 fellow travellers including elder people and Families with babies. Tour Leader Cynthia could hardly understand me and was not able to transfer information in english to me. We tried the translation-mode of cell-phone, but she failed to press the button for the micro so information was lost again and again. Next tour-time was stolen on half Hour break at Upsalla for toilet-stop. While walking arround I met other Tour-Guide Bibiana and told her about that I am not happy the way my tour is conducted. She arranged wit Cynthia - since they are working for same company - to take me on her tour-bus. Despite the fact that I ended up on the last row of another fully booked Mercedes Sprinter, squeezed in I was happy to have someone talking english and happy to transfer information to me. Thank you Bibiana for all your efforts!!! The Stop at the road side for getting a climpse of Mountain Aconcagua went out to watch a massiv mountain range covered in clouds. But anyway, this is part of nature and I am pretty sure that the mountain is still there and will show me its chocolate face when I will get there next time. Next waste of time was Lunch break at "The Cuevas" for an hour , followed by a sales trip to a chocolates sale and wine tasting close to Border to Chile, On the way back I was allowed by tour leader Bibiana to take her seat in the front. I realised that the dash-bord of the Mercedes -Sprinter, driven by Mr. Ricardo - was showing more than 6 failure-notes (including ASP, break-system, Light, Liquid supply etc. I asked Bibiana to find out from the driver, if he was aware of the failure-notices, because I felt a bit worried. At a break, when the driver kickt the rattling fender of the vehicle back into its position, he confirmed, that he was aware of failure-notice, but did not care, because he expected the messages to be deleted at next service. Once again, I am a tour guide and I used to drive the Sprinter myself for yaers. The way Ricardo drove the steep downhill sections from Mountains back to town was not appropriate, he was several times tailgating other vehicles and overspeeding. That tour left me quiet clueless. I would like to sort out the issue thoroughly. I am far away from flooding the internet with bad comments on your product. But I would like you to reimburse me in a appropriate way for the bad experience and the loss of value of the trip. If you are a foreigner in Argentina and travel with this company you would be subjected to gringo hate right off the bat. Inexplicably and for no reason. So kindly stay away. Usually, company employees do not engage in such behavior unless they are emboldened by the corporate culture and know they can do it without being reprimanded. I have reasons to believe that what is described below is the actual Tangol Tours and their subcontractor - Wiphala Tourism corporate attitude towards foreigners. I was the only foreign tourist in the group and the driver Erik was extremely rude and subjected me to pity vengeance attacks for the whole day. Nobody else was treated this way. Below is the list: - He always referred to his car as 'my car' and answered with ‘you cannot do it in my car’, implying that the client (me) who paid for the excursion had no voice in it. At least 6 times he refused to close the windows in high altitude conditions when it was very cold outside. Even when he did close it eventually, every time he followed this by increasing the air conditioning cold temperature to compensate for closed windows. HE would feel comfortable, and not his presumed clients. There was not even a dialogue, no explanations, just action to the contrary of client requests. - I asked Erik the driver to remove the big red ribbon hanging from the mirror so I could take photos through the front glass. I explained that I flew 3000 miles to view the beautiful Mendoza and Alta Montana region and just need to take images. He removed it for 20 minutes and then placed it back when I was not in the van. He repeated the same exercise at least 5 times during the trip, so I had to ask him 5 times. I offered him a compromise – just to move this object to the left side of the window, but he refused and kept it hanging right in front of me so I could not take the pictures. The guide (Jose) tried to intervene and helped me a couple of times but he told me “I’m is in the middle and I’m trying to make everybody happy”. It is really strange that (being a great guide that he is) he tried to make happy the driver who clearly takes personal issue with the company foreign clients. - By the end of the trip he engaged in personal vindictive attacks and kept the window open on my side and refused to close it. I offered him a compromise – to at least open the window on his side and close it on mine. He refused and kept it open on my end so I would ‘feel it’. - Eric sometimes engaged in dangerous driving, like putting two elbows on the wheel without his wrist touching the wheel. Not a great feeling either. Also drinking very hot mate tea and holding in one hand while driving doesn’t instill much confidence in the company's services. - Putting on very loud music when he feels like it with total disregard to passengers is also not a great sign of attention to people in his car. I’m clearly not going to use this company again and would formally urge Tripadvisor to stop engaging with Tnagol tours and their subcontractor Wiphala as contractors.
It is absolutely great tour if you speak Spanish. But if you expect to get the same information in English you are going to be disappointed. Guide was speaking perfect English but it did not come natural to her to remember that non-Spanish speaking travelers are also there.
This tour should be considered an experience rather than just a tour. Pick up and drop off were right at our hotel door. Our guide, Esteban, and our driver Sergio, were excellent, and the vehicle was very comfortable. Most of the guests were Spanish speaking but Esteban went out of his way to make sure that we English speakers got the full translation. We learned about the geography, the history, and even some local of the music. We went high into the Andes and ate a buffet style lunch (not included) at a local restaurant. Highly recommend this tour, it fulfilled my life long dream of visiting the Andes!
It was an excellent day trip from Mendoza. I booked this tour because I wanted to see Aconcagua mountain, but it was beautiful all the way. The landscape is truly amazing. And our guide Mafalda was amazing too. All the way she provided lots of information about mountains, rock formations, animals, plants and Argentinian history. Thank you very much! Highly recommended tour if you are in Mendoza.
Tour and guide very good. Our only complaint is concerning information about time for pickup. We got information about 7.30 and ordered a taxi for 7.00. Later the day before we got new information with pickup 8.00-08.45 and we hope Tangol will plan the pickup earlier in the future.
The guide was a nice one, his english was not perfect but a good carisma and very knowledgeable. Our only complain is the AC was not working on one side of the mini bus.
Great day! Pick up on time and country beautiful. Tour guide spoke good English and made sure we understood.
It was an interesting tour and with a good and caring guide. We got to see the mountains without cloudy weather, and it was beautiful. So was the drive up there.
This was a great tour! I would recommend it. The views are spectacular. There was good English and Spanish translation. The lunch was also very nice indeed.
We booked a full day tour and we were told to report to a hotel in Mendoza at 730 AM. After waiting, we tried to contact the company to ask where the bus was—and they texted (they refused to call us back during the entire ordeal, only text) that the bus would come around 8:30 AM. 8:30 AM: we texted again, no response. We called, texted, waited—the bus simply didn’t show up and no one explained to us what to do. We gave up around 9:30 AM and had to organize a hike on our own since we only had one day. At 7 PM, I received a text apologizing for the events in the morning and asking whether I’d like to reschedule. Completely unprofessional, ruined our vacation, and still waiting for a refund. Never again!!!!!
We really enjoyed the great scenery and the information from the guide. The only problem was that the bus sound system was not that clear. We are in our late 60s and I have had heart issues, but the walks, even at that high altitude, were at a moderate pace. You need water, which we were able to buy at the second stop. We stopped for lunch which was a non-refill buffet of salad, meat, vegetables, and dessert. They allowed sharing, so we shared one buffet and the food was pretty good.
Absolutely stunning views and mountains. The tour is very good, Ornella was great, she speaks several languages and is very friendly. We had a espectacular lunch in the little town Las Cuevas (bring cash!), and I enjoyed the historic path of San Martín, the liberator. Thanks!
I love taking photos and there was plenty of time to do so on this tour. I never felt, that we were rushed. Federico is a great guide! Not pushy in any way!
I traveled to Mendoza in later part of March and booked this all-day trekking tour of Aconcagua. I cannot recommend it enough. I traveled with my 18-year old daughter and her boyfriend and we had a blast. We were very lucky that our tour was only us (normally it can be more people, but maybe due to the time of year and date it was only us) and it was like a personalized tour. Our tour guide was Carolina and our driver was Miguel. We lucked out with these two as well as they were super professional, yet friendly and helpful from beginning to end. We had a blast and the trekk with Carolina was incredibly exciting and invigorating. The views were amazing and we were all very proud of ourselves for the 6 hour trekking achievement to the first hiking ground. thank you to these two amazing tour guides/drivers and to the Kahuak team who helped me weigh the pros and cons of doing this trekk- ultimately it was an amazing choice!
It was one of the best experiences and tours I have been on. Fantastic view all the time. A skilled guide who was good at informing, and a professional driver who drove safely. One of my best experiences. Beautiful view all the time. Professional guide and driver. A lot of good information during the trip.
The walk was amazing, the group very nice. The guide named Esteban was able to give us all the information necessary for the trip and including part of the history of the Andes mountain range. Excellent guide
Very beautiful landscapes of the Mendoza mountain range, I saw the Inca Bridge, visit the monument to Christ the Redeemer again after many years, in a setting of high peaks, lunch at a restaurant in Las Cuevas, Uspallata, Potrillos dam and village, excellent tour by vehicle impeccable, excellent driver and guide in everything
I had a beautiful experience with Cepas Turismo, more precisely with the guide Frederico and the driver Ariel (I think this was his name). Frederico is an energetic guide, and speaks with passion and a touch of humor about all the attractions of the tour. It is a history class about Mendoza, the Andes, and the campaign of the Liberators of America. Ariel (the driver) is confident at the wheel, especially on the part of the route that goes up to Christ the Redeemer of the Andes. He also has good musical taste, choosing the best songs for the tour. 10/10 I recommend them!
Spectacular! Each stop blows your mind a little more and the tour is also very enjoyable. All the landscapes are amazing. We had Hugo who made it even more interesting and fun. The best of waves!
The landscape is spectacular. The service is very good, very punctual. It was not possible to go to Christ the Redeemer because the road was closed, but we were notified in advance.
This excursion to the Andes has been the best excursion I have ever had in my life because the excursion puts you in an environment of fun, adventure and entertainment. We went with Facu, a very charismatic and happy person who taught us a lot about the Andes. If you like walking, meeting new people, trying delicious food, I highly recommend this excursion. Bring water and gum to avoid dizziness.
We visited very beautiful places, everything was very well organized, the guide and driver were very friendly and pleasant.
The trip was with the guide Hugo, excellent by sight and the driver Gaston. The attraction lasted from 7:30 to 20:30. We made stops at the Inca Bridge at the base of the Aconcagua and more stops for coffee and snacks. The highlight was the climb in Las Cuevas to the Redemptor Christ by a small road of land. The Christ is at 3850 meters altitude. On the descent we have lunch at the restaurant that is nearby. Buffet system well ruined but at least was cheap (3000pesos / Cover, about 7dollars) In general note 7, it is worth it as the tour was not expensive.
Lovely experience, very good guide. The beautiful places. We had lunch in a restaurant on the border almost with Chile. Homemade food very well served
Amazing Mendoza! Uco Valley Tour! Wineries and circuits.Photo Safaris! The road to Uspallata is wonderful!
A 12-hour excursion from when you are wanted to when you are dropped off. They were punctual in picking up. They overlook amazing places. A very good intermediate stop at 2 hs from departure, ideal for roasting and breakfast. Don't eat too much because height can be bad if you're not used to it. The best was the arrival to Christ the Redeemer where the landscape is majestic. The place where you eat around 14 30 pretty basic, unhygienic, precarious bathrooms. The waiters' attention is good but the Service is very basic. They get a lot of groups so you feel like they run you over time. If you carry scallop and drink it is much better than the option there. It costs 3,000 per person and 3,500 if you pay by card (the card law here is not enforced). The Service was contracted to Be Experience who in turn contracts with the Cepas Enterprise.
Very good experience to do alone, as a couple or with friends. You get a combi from the hotel, and they make all the stops you indicate. In this case the guide (Romina) was telling us interesting facts during the journey, both in Spanish and English. The landscape is beautiful (in summer), the temperature is very good. We couldn't get on Christ because there was a biker event, a shame. When I arrived at the Caves, there is a rest to eat, in my case I had taken food, and I sat on a stone looking at the mountain range. The only thing ""bad"" that does not depend on the Enterprise, is that there was a couple of Russians who would not stop talking, shouting, moving and drinking wine on top of the van, besides they always got lost in the stops and you had to wait for them and the guide did not ask them to calm down, as they disturbed everyone.
We went after some internet searches. It was 3 hours to go and 3 more to return. Arriving at the park, we exchanged tickets and started the walk. Our... without signage we walked for almost two hours looking for the lake. And we end up encountering a bridge and the Aconcagua at the bottom. We decided to go back and look for a more straight path. When we find the lake. We walked a lot, hot sun to see a lake only. I didn't find that much effort
experience (not excursion) MUST IF you go to mendoza. you see incredible landscapes and places
An unforgettable experience beautiful scenery, excellent treated the local people, very friendly, in the caves there is wine tasting and alfajores
Wonderful everything, every place we stop. Incredible landscapes, Puente del Inca, Aconcagua, Uspallata, Potrerillos, we reach the Caves where we have lunch.
