We spent one night at Park Hyatt Mendoza on our way into Argentina's wine country. I cannot remember exactly how long the subsequent drive to the vineyards took, but the hotel served as a comfortable and well-positioned introduction to Mendoza. Situated directly opposite Plaza Independencia, it gave us immediate access to the surrounding streets, which we explored on foot before enjoying dinner nearby. Although the hotel was unquestionably upscale, it did not feel as singularly conceived as certain other Park Hyatt properties, particularly Chicago. My impression was of an existing grand hotel that had been incorporated into the brand rather than a property designed entirely around it. The casino reinforced its scale and offered another amenity, though neither it nor the rest of the hotel felt especially distinctive in my memory. Still, its value lay more in fit than in character. However, for our itinerary, it worked extremely well. I remember attractive outdoor tables shaded by umbrellas, providing an inviting place to sit, eat, and relax before continuing the trip. The room was comfortable, the central location was excellent, and the price represented good value. After a pleasant evening in Mendoza, we blasted off toward wine country, feeling rested and ready for the more immersive part of the journey.

Our stay in Mendoza was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely rooms, elegant artwork throughout, and a perfect location for exploring the city. After nearly 36 hours of travel, relaxing at the balcony bar on arrival was such a treat. What really stood out to me, though, was the kindness and attention to detail from the staff. During my stay for my birthday, the hotel surprised me with a delicious piece of chocolate cake and a thoughtful card waiting in the room. Such a simple but incredibly special touch that made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Beautiful hotel, excellent service, and a stay I’ll always remember fondly.
As a Hyatt Globalist, I found my 4-night stay fell short of the Park Hyatt brand standard. The property is very dated and needs a major renovation; notably, using the iron immediately short-circuited the power in my bathroom. The service was generally good at this property, especially at breakfast. Front desk staffs were also good but seemed to lack empowerment. However, there were some issues that just ruined the entire stay experience. Dining: A wrong order was compounded by feeling ignored by the floor manager during the mix-up. No communication whatsoever. The food was actually quite good, but I refused to go back due to the arrogant staff. Spa: A booking miscommunication led to the wrong therapist, and the treatment lacked the requested pressure. It was so bad that the nice relaxing lounge couldn't compensate for it. Logistics: Significant friction regarding my 4 PM late checkout and app reservation errors. The Recovery: The on-site manager was the highlight of the stay. He was incredibly helpful, apologetic, and professional. He acknowledged the systemic issues were largely out of his control and proactively comped the meal and spa service to make things right. Final Verdict: The management is excellent at service recovery, but the hardware and communication gaps need urgent attention to justify the luxury tier.
Conveniently located across from Independence Square and within a 10 minute walk to shopping and great restaurants, this was a great hotel. Breakfast buffet was included and delicious. Nice fitness area with some free weights. The spa was fantastic! Staff was very service oriented. Marsela from the Concierge desk was extremely accommodating and we would stay here again without hesitation!
The gorgeous façade and impressive lobby speak of a different time, soaring walls of glass and stone interior with chrome accents invoke luxury and calm. We spent 5 nights at this property and were pleased with the service and room in general. The bed and linens were comfortable and made for sleep & pleasant dreams. The location is great for walking to entertainment and dining as well as a short Uber ride to the storied Cementerio de la Ciudad de Mendoza. Less than 10 minutes away are three Michelin starred restaurants, we chose a superb 9 course meal at Azafran (highly recommended). The onsite casino is easily ignored unless you choose that back corner entrance to the hotel, then simply stare ahead and ignore the ruckus slot machine soundtrack (which does not bleed into the lobby or the front desk). The lobby and breezeways host a rotating display of art and sculptures, one standout piece is a sculpture honoring the author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (best known for The Little Prince), celebrating his historic stay at the hotel in 1930. We had time to spend a couple of hours in the spa and get massages, we were hoping to hot tub together before then, but the sauna and tubs are sequestered away in the locker rooms. Unfortunately, the hot tubs are individual tubs that you fill to use, filling times are long and I settled for a quick steam sauna. The entire massage experience was well done from the quiet waiting area to the cup of tea afterwards. Our room included breakfast at the lobby restaurant where they take their breakfast buffet VERY seriously, all of the European and local dishes were there, my wife has a gluten allergy and was delighted that they had a toaster set aside for gluten free breads and pastries. My favorite was their honey display that held a full bee hive frame and collected the freshest honey ever at the bottom for your toast! The pool bar was a handy spot to stop in and have a quick Gin & Tonic, staffed as always be friendly and attentive staff. One quick note; we had six bottles of Mendoza wine to ship home, the hotel took that on and we paid the fee directly to the shipper. The wine arrived a week after we got home in great shape and no extra tarrif or duties. My only negative observation is that the hotel has some deferred maintenance, a room refresh, a coat of interior paint would do wonders. And please, replace the failed window panels.
