Shelton was very considerate of our food needs. He told us stories, explained the background/history of places we visited.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with Jenny. She was a brilliant tour guide and very knowledgeable and we saw alot more than expected. We will definitely be booking again our our next visit.
Informative and unique! We loved hearing the history and being able to see the city’s highlights. The cheese, chocolate pairing and dumplings were amazing!
Highly recommended tour! We throughly enjoyed every bit of this with our lovely guide Jenny who was very knowledgeable of everything Melbourne. We would never have gone to some of the places Jenny took us and we wouldn’t have had a clue how to get to them. From delicious fresh strawberries with the yummiest chocolate enjoyed in the most beautiful surroundings to vodka tastings in one of the oldest suburbs in Melbourne! What a treat! We could not have experienced this side of Melbourne without the lovely Jenny who was so friendly and easy to talk with and knew so many interesting things. We cannot recommend this tour more highly. Book it! You won’t regret it!
Great way to explore tucked away delights plus some of the major attractions. Russel was a great and personable guide.
We all thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Russell, our guide, was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also great fun. Even though we’ve visited Melbourne many times, we discovered places we’d never seen before and picked up some fascinating pieces of the city’s history along the way. The food tastings were an added highlight and made the experience even better.
Disappointed in lack of ‘tourist’ info, our guide was underprepared, needed maps for walking and driving sections and didn’t share any real gems as we would expect from a tour of this price and length. Lovely guy, chatty, but didn’t provide any depth to the tour - he led us and drove us and that’s about it. 2 of The inclusions we expected were missed. Venues we went to for food and drink had no seating available (so we weren’t expected) which made us feel like we shouldn’t be there.
Amazing experience of multiple memorable stops that I would not done on my own. Ned is a fantastic guide. I had so much fun. Highly reeocmmrnd
Tour was well knitted, and very good ( must do) for a first timer in Melbourne. I wish this tour was conducted in through trams and walking only. Then it would have been a real experience for any one to do their rest of the trip by themselves, conversant with moving around any place in Melbourne and its ways.
Really good Melbourne city tour and specially with the informative guide. Good hospitality and friendly guide
The tour guide was friendly and nice, but he didn't really show us the city, and the snacks provided were the food that I would go for. At the end of the tour, we went to a bar. The pictures on the walls were not suitable for kids. Overall, I was very unhappy.
This tour was very enjoyable! We were the only two on it, so that was special and Shelton took the time to find out what piqued our interest and customized the experience between tastings. He was knowledgeable and fun. We learned a lot of the history of how Melbourne came to be and has evolved — with tasty nibbles along the way. A very enjoyable introduction to Melbourne!
Really enjoyable tour. Definitely recommend!
Victorian visitors to Melbourne for a long weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4hr Tour, very informative and showing us sites we often walked past without a thought. Would highly recommend for locals and visitors to our wonderful Melbourne, great value for money.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, especially the Melbourne insights as well as the various indulgences. Russell was an excellent guide, providing entertaining stories and historical information.
We had a great morning tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. We loved seeing the back Alleys and artwork that was hidden around the area. The food was lovely and particularly liked the cheese and chocolate. A great idea to share with my friends. We would definitely recommend this tour
A wonderful experience with Russell, who was funny & informative. So many special little experiences; a great tour of all the different parts of CBD Melbourne, from laneways, chocolate tastings, gardens , delicious dumplings and finishing with a bizarre pub with great views
If you have 4 hours, enjoy small group tours then this is the tour for you. Made even more enjoyable by the wonderful tour guide Sheldon. We enjoyed his commentary and company whilst being driven around and walking the major sites of Melbourne city and suburbs. If we didnt have Sheldon we wouldnt have known many of the interesting facts or places he shared with us. Included was sampling of food / beveridge along the way, which was great. We strongly recommend this tour.
We were visiting from the United Kingdom and booked via a local travel agent in Ipswich, Queensland. It was my first time in Melbourne though my wife was here about 25 years ago. It turned out that my wife and I were the only ones booked on the day and we had the whole bus and guide to ourselves. Therefore the experience was much more personal than usual. The guide, Sheldon, was very good in taking us to the interesting and delightful places in the city. It was one of the most enjoyable tours we have been on and all our comments and questions were satisfactory dealt with.
We had an excellent experience with this tour. Our group was only 6 people, so Shelton was able to answer all of our questions. We saw amazing hidden sights & others throughout Melbourne, plus the snacks at each stop were fantastic (especially the warm melted chocolate covered strawberries)!
Eclectic choice of food and drink. None we would otherwise have encountered ourselves. Very knowledgeable and personable guide Jenny.
Lovely morning with Shelton. Coffee, strawberries and chocolate, dumplings history and insight. A great tour and start to our Melbourne adventure.
Highly recommend this fun tour around the city. Ned was great tour guide. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the different stops which showed places I wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Met some lovely people as an extra bonus which made the experience even better!!
Ned our tour guide was brilliant. 5 stars. He was very friendly and helpful. Food stops were delicious.
Ned the tour guide was fantastic tour was amazing would recommend this tour
A great way to understand Melbourne and have a great time in the process. Our guide Ned Kelly was the best.
This was a great introduction to Melbourne! We got to see a lot of neighborhoods with different characters and try food iconic to each one. Our guide had so much local historical information to share! I really felt like I had a sense of the city after the tour.
Awesome very informative our guide Shelton was amazing gave us a great insight into Melbourne now and it's history
We did the Melbourne Highlights tour 1 day ago with Shelton. The tour was excellent. Shelton was very knowledgeable about the history and shared many interesting stories which contributed immensely to the experience. We had a very small group which made the tour personable. The stops where we got to taste some of the local food and drinks was a very nice touch. It provided a nice balance between the walking portion of the tour. Shelton was very personable and made the whole tour throughly enjoyable
This was a very nice way to see a bit of urban Melbourne quickly. Shelton is a very knowledgeable and affable guy. We would recommend him.
Hidden lane ways, glorious views, incredible history, and fun & creative food stops along the way. Shelton was an outstanding guide for our first time in Melbourne!
Wonderful way to see a good variety of what Melbourne has to offer. Russell was a wonderful and informative guide and our tour was well balanced with sights, walking and driving though areas that a walking tour would never have covered.
A small group of just 6 of us which made the day easier for everyone. Our guide was knowledgeable, polite and personable throughout. The locations on the tour did, I believe give a real taste of Melbourne, it's culture and it's lifestyle. The pace of the tour was good and we got to where we needed to be in good time despite heavy Saturday traffic and the need for the driver to improvise detours in the North of the city due to road closures for the Spanish festival. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
GREAT tour with lots of tasty treats. Try to get our tour guide, Shelton. He was just a phenomenal personality with tons of great information. It was obvious he loves what he does and he really knows his stuff! Would do this one again in a heartbeat.
Really good tour Showed many areas of Melbourne that we would not have otherwise seen Sue the guide was so informative and great company for the afternoon
What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! I liked that it was a small group with our own little van. We hopped in the van and explored several different places in the city! There was walking but not too much walking that exhausted us for the rest of the day! Our guide Russell was engaging, funny, and knowledgeable! I would highly recommend this tour!
Took a 4 hour food tour around Melbourne with Local Way Tours. Russell was our guide. He did an excellent job in showing the diversity of Melbourne food as well as teaching us about Melbourne history and culture. Strawberries and Belgian chocolate st the Botanical Gardens, chicken and octopus dumplings at Shandong Mama, drinks at Naked for Satan and charcuterie at Queen Victoria Market. Can’t go wrong with Russell and Local Way Tours.
Excellent tour. Our guide Ray was the best! The sites and Ray’s knowledge of the city gave us great insight of Melbourne. Food stops were great as well. Would suggest this tour to anyone and would do it all over again
Our guide, Russell was great. Enjoyed seeing some of the out of the way places in Downtown Melbourne.
Our guide, Ned, was very knowledgeable and the excursion was fun. We were certainly not hungry when the tour finished.
This was an awesome tour with an awesome guide named Ned! He’s only on the job 3 months and did a great tour for us! We got to see a LOT of Melbourne in a small group of 9. Had some good eats and drinks along the way as well!! Highly recommend this tour!
Russell our guide was really engaging, and knowledgeable. We found some interesting things about Melbourne and its history. Went to some great places. The Epicurian at the Victoria Markets was superb.
Pleasant tour around city and beyond with Ned. Enthusiasm commentary and his choice of stops. Plenty of food to sample on our tour.
My wife and I enjoyed this tour which allowed us to visit a number of places in Melbourne we may not have visited on our own. Mike, our guide and driver was very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Ably assisted by his colleague Filip. The vehicle was virtually brand new so very clean and comfortable. There were only 7 on our tour and by the end we all felt we had made new friends. These were the plus points of the trip. However the food and drink aspect was very disappointing. Don't expect to be fed well. We experienced some strawberries, 2 dumpling each and a few morsels of cheese and salami, plus a couple of drinks. This is sold as a food experience which it is not. We have done similar tours in other cities which have provided a proper meal over the course of the trip. Without Mike and Filip as guides I would have rated this tour as poor
Not suitable for people who cannot walk far and stand around easily. Need more fitness to be able to participate. Our guide on the day was very personable but we had to withdraw after the first hour.
This activity took us to many different areas and was able to see the interesting areas we were interested in. We were served samples of food and/or drinks in each area. Sue was very personable and knowledgeable about her city!
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I got to learn about the history of Melbourne, visit local spots, and enjoy good food and drinks. I also met new people and we shared our experiences. Above everything, the host Russell made the trip lively and engaging. He was very jovial and made us feel comfortable throughout. Overall I would recommend this trip to anyone who is new to Melbourne.
Great guide. Great food. Interesting facts. We learnt a lot about the history of Melbourne. The guide took us to interesting places
I went on this trip recently and was very impressed with the knowledge of Mike, the guide, as well as the amount we managed to cram in during the four hour's duration. There were just two of us, along with Mike, and within only a few minutes it felt like we were just a group of friends going out for the morning. Luckily, the weather cooperated and we were able to wander around the various venues with no concerns about getting cold/wet. Apart from the wealth of interesting facts Mike was able to share, I'm not sure that I've ever eaten or drunk so much in one morning! For the money the tour cost, there sure are a LOT of edibles to get through. Chocolate-covered strawberries, dumplings, charcuterie boards, coffee, vodka-infused fruity drinks and craft beers. It all came thick and fast and I feared that I might need to be rolled back to my hotel. We visited some interesting locations, and heard some interesting - though possibly apocryphal - stories. All-in-all it was a very enjoyable morning's trip and I'd certainly recommend it, although maybe don't have breakfast that day!
My husband and I had a fantastic day with our guide Ned , seeing some great landmarks and sampling some lovely food and drinks . We found Ned to be very insightful, courteous, fun and an absolute pleasure to hang out with for 4 hours . We would totally ask for him again in the future. We will be recommending this tour company to friends. We got alot of bang for the price Thankyou K&G
