I was fortunate to have two tours with Mark’s Melbourne private tours during the week I was in Melbourne. Upon arriving at the airport Mark picked me up and provided an exceptional tour of the city keeping me entertained by his knowledge and the wonderful sites of the city until my hotel check in later in the afternoon. We started off with a drive around the neighborhoods, St. Kilda, Luna Park, Brighton Beach, The Historic MCG. And then stopped for a bit of a walking tour at the war memorial, art filled laneways, and of course some coffee. Mark and his partner George were exceptional with their service and knowledge of the sites. They made themselves available for any questions and recommended activities and restaurants for dining suggestions. Could not have had a better first day in Melbourne!
We booked the four-hour Private Tour of Melbourne Highlights, Landmarks, and Beaches, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Mark arrived at our hotel on time, and his vehicle was in pristine condition. From the beginning, he made the tour feel easy, comfortable, and well organized. As a true Melbourne local, Mark was extremely knowledgeable about the city and shared his insights in a clear, engaging way. His easygoing personality made the experience enjoyable for everyone in our group. Our group included me, my husband, and our teenage daughter. Even our daughter had a great time, which says a lot. We highly recommend Mark’s Private Tour to anyone looking for a memorable and informative way to explore Melbourne.
The 4 hours I spent with Mark in Melbourne was the highlight of my stay in this wonderful city. My initial impressions of this city were not overwhelmingly great and the time I spent with Mark changed that completely. Mark is incredibly knowledgeable, well spoken, and just a really nice guy. I could wander around this city for a week and not see or notice some of the really interesting sights that Mark led me through. I now have so much for my travel blog that I don't know where to begin.
Mark is the best tour guide in Melbourne. He is knowledgeable, funny, and very engaging! We went on a tour as a 4-person family, and he was extremely patient and attentive and tailored the tour based on what we were most interested in seeing. He stopped the car for great views and photo ops, too! We learned so much from him and saw so much in just a few hours. 10/10 recommend!
We had a great day today with Mark. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. This is what we look for in new places, explore and learn in a way we never could. We walked, tram-d, and cruised on the river.
We find this private tour very interesting and happy and due to detailed information provided the tourist guide, so we can recommend to our friends, who wish to visit Melbourne, Australia.
Mark showed me different areas of Melbourne in his car. First, we left the city centre to see some of the unique architecture. We stopped at Acland St. to have a vegan meal, which is very important. He took into consideration my food choices. Then we went to Brighton Bay to see the iconic bathing boxes. Walked around the beach, then made a stop in the Royal Botanic Garden to talk about the war history of Australia. Then went for a walking tour in the centre of Melbourne. It was an insightful and very comfortable tour.
Look no further because you’ve just found THE Melbourne tour guide. Mark knows how to pack a city into four hours. He's knowledgable, fun, easy to get along with, and knows Melbourne like the back of his hand. His knowledge runs deep, and on the very rare occasion you stump him with a question, he'll gracefully admit he doesn't know and will try and find you the answer. He's personable and friendly and willing to tweak the tour to whatever suits your fancy. I can't highly recommend Mark enough. There are a lot of things that you may pass by in Melbourne on a tram or on a train or in a taxi that you won't think much of. After a tour with Mark, though, you certainly get a much richer perspective on Melbourne and Victoria! Loved the tour, Mark!
Mark was an amazing guide, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and also helped us a lot. Furthermore he was open to "customize" our visit. Highly recommended.
Mark was amazing during this tour. He had so much knowledge about Melbourne and was very informative. He was punctual, arriving to greet us on time. My group loved the tour and will be doing another when we come to the city again. Highly recommend Mark!
Mark is an excellent host, he takes care people, very patience and empathetic. Also very knowledgeable about city facts, history and places. Very respectful and professional. I highly recommend him. Thank you again. Great experience!! Nohelis and Ingrid.
If you’re looking to explore Melbourne and delve into Australia’s history, I highly recommend this tour. The guide is very helpful and professional, providing clear and detailed explanations while patiently answering all our questions. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches at the end of the tour. Mark truly made a difference in how he treated tourists. Thank you, Australia; we will meet again!
Mark was a great guide- lots of sights & info about Melbourne. Great way to see to the city in a short amount of time. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed a private four hour tour of Melbourne with Mark. He efficiently showed us all the highlights of this wonderful city which otherwise would have taken us triple the amount of time had we done so on our own. Mark is very personable and clearly proud of Melbourne. We now share his enthusiasm for his city and look forward to exploring more on our own.
Jam packed 4 hours. Mark was terrific: knowledgeable, polite, worked with us to choose the sites we wanted. He had a separate driver so when we left the car, he was with us all of the time and we didn't waste time looking to park. We saw the bathing boxes, the war memorial, graffiti art, shopping areas, etc.
Marks tour of Melbourne was exceptional. He managed to fit a lot into the time but we didn’t feel rushed. I have been here many times but he showed us sights I have never had the chance to explore and give us interesting, informative information. It felt personal as he was showing us places he loves. It has given me a whole new appreciation for Melbourne and I would highly recommend Mark as a guide. He also took good care of us and was patient. If I ever want to explore this area again with a guide I would definitely use Mark.
I was attending a conference and organised a private 1/2 day city tour for my parents. The tour was very organised and catered to my family's mobility needs. They had a lovely time and enjoyed the itinerary. They found the guide to be very informative. Highly recommended for any age!
We had a great day in luxorious bus jai was best guide we has been guided by, he is very knowledgeable and very passionate towards his job, we highly recomend this tour
We had a great tour of Melbourne with Mark. He is a really friendly guy and definitely cut for showing people around the wonderful city. A true local - Mark took us through some of the historical alleyways and side streets that we otherwise would not have found on our own. Of course we also ran by some local beaches and parks for the gram snaps! Make sure to stop by Brighton Beach for the iconic Bathing Boxes! Thanks Mark!
Great tour!! Mark is very knowledgeable and showed us the entire city!! We made lots of stops and took many pictures, it was especially nice that we also walked for about an hour to tour the city by foot! Highly recommend!
We highly recommend Marks private tour for anyone visiting Melbourne . It was wonderful. He is very friendly, polite, respectful and knowledgeable. All of us enjoyed the tour .
This was the first time we were visiting Australia. Mark gave us a lovely tour of the city of Melbourne but also told us a lot about the history of the country and of Melbourne in particular. He was speaking slowly so that everyone could understand and drove us around in a lovely minivan. However we also took a lovely walk in the city arcades and hopped on a tram for a couple of stops. We had a great time and got to know the most interesting parts of the city.
It was our first visit to Melbourne. Mark was an excellent guide. He explained to us a lot of the Australian history, the history of the city and took us to many landmarks in Melbourne. We drove around for most of the day but we also went for a ride on the tram and got to walk in a few beautiful arcades. Had a great time!
Mark is an amazing tourguide, super friendly, full of energy, very empathic and very flexible in aligning his private tour with your schedule. I had a great time and felt very welcome in Melbourne. He told me everything I needed to know with a local twist and authentic information.
Our trip to Melbourne was superb n marvelous thanks to Mark, who’s always on time. He took us to tour the CBD, the sidestreets n alleys to get a better glimpse n feel of what it’s like in Melbourne. It was an exciting tour, so we booked another trip to the Great Ocean Road, not only worth visiting bcoz of d breathtaking view, but bcoz you have the best guide to tour u around. With Mark as ur guide, you feel safe and secure, we give him a 10 out of 10 stars. Good Job Mark👍
We booked a tour with Mark on our first day in Melbourne which gave us a great intro into the city. He was knowledgeable, friendly and a good communicator. He helped us be able to navigate our way around for our next few days and gave us some great tips. A great experience!
Mark's local knowledge - as someone born and raised in the area - can't be beat! Amazing service too - I had briefed him beforehand of my father's mobility issues and he really kept that in mind not just during the planning phase prior to the tour, but even as we did the tour. Really enjoyed our time with Mark, and learned so much about Melbourne even though I had been to the area several times before. Highly recommend!
Wonderful walking tour of Melbourne followed by driving tour of outskirts of Melbourne - all in 4 hours. I learned so much about Melbourne from the combination of walking and driving along with Mark's vast local, architectural and historical knowledge. Mark was very interested in showing me the sights that interested me and not just the regular tour sights which I very much appreciated. Thanks Mark!
We enjoyed Mark’s Morning tour of Melbourne at one of cruise stops. He was very knowledgeable, accommodating and engaging. Four of us had a great time and were able to adapt the tour to our interests. Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful introduction to Melbourne and Australia. Mark was a great host - we covered the downtown area, took the tram to some of the outlying areas, and walked through some of the wonderful malls. I would recommend this service to anyone new to Melbourne or looking to see what they may have missed on previous visits while exploring on their own.
Very personable and knowledgeable. Tailors tour to your individual interests. Comfortable, clean vehicle. Also offered many other ideas for things to do outside tour’s limits. Highly recommended.
What a perfect way to start my trip! Picked up at the airport, delivered to hotel and then a 2 hour plus walking tour. Tram ride. Great knowledge of this beautiful city. The library, the gaol, architect and oh the arcades. My favorite was Block Arcade!
My husband and I did a five-hour tour with Mark. He is very knowledgeable about Melbourne and Australia. We wanted to see as much of the area as we could in our limited time, so Mark made suggestions that worked out great. We especially enjoyed the interactions with the koalas and kangaroos at the Moonlit Sanctuary. Also the walking tour of the downtown alleyways, and the Brighton Beach bathing boxes. Mark went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and having a good time...he was even our private photographer. We highly recommend him!
Our tour was brief and seamless. Mark was right where he said he’d be, right on time when we got off our ship in Melbourne. He took us to Moonlit Sanctuary, where he had arranged a koala encounter for us. Afterward, he showed us around the sanctuary. We had some time left so he showed us around the arcades and lanes in Melbourne, including the very cool street art, a walk along the riverfront, and through Chinatown. He is a local so he gave us a lot of really interesting information and history. Mark was attentive to shaping the tour around our interests. When the tour was over, he gave us a restaurant recommendation (fabulous) and advice on things to do in our other port. He even introduced us to Tim Tams, our new favorite cookies! Well done, Mark. Thanks for the great service.
Mark was an absolutely amazing tour guide! He picked us up from the airport and was waiting for us upon arrival. He greeted us with a goodie bag of Aussie essentials: Tim tams, carmello koalas, and much more. Mark was always on time and catered to ever need we had. He was very flexible and more than happy to cater to anything. He was very sociable and provided amazing insight about OZ. Being that we were an American family we didn’t know much about the history, tourist sites, or anything. Mark provided all his input and recommended great places for us to eat, shop, and hang out. Being that we were a family of 5 with boys and girls ranging of different ages mark always made recommendations that suited all our needs. Mark was a great tour guide and if you’re going to austrialla mark will make sure you see everything you want to see in a short or long time span. Great guide!!
Mark was a wonderful guide. Showed us all around Melbourne included an animal sanctuary and Brighton Beach. We also got out of the van and walked some streets. Friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
When we travel to new city, we first try to participate in free walking tours to get a feel for the city and then engage a private driver to visit the outskirts or other attractions that we want to see. Fortunately, we found Mark Mark is a true professional and a gentleman. Working with him to organize our itinerary was easy and very straightforward and as a result we had an excellent afternoon. If we come back, we will definitely call Mark
We engaged Mark to do a private shore excursion for us when calling at Melbourne on our recent cruise. Mark was a great choice; firstly, setting up the shore excursion via email with Mark was an absolute pleasure - emails with questions were quickly answered and Mark had lots and lots of patience going over our tour and accommodating the special things we wanted to do. Bravo! We paid in advance though a secure online method with no drama. The tour itself was extraordinary: we saw so much and being a private group we moved at a very quick pace - we saw much more that those utilizing shore excursions organized by the ship. We walked downtown Melbourne, saw the inner suburbs, went to the war memorial, saw charming St Kilda, visited the "Beach Boxes" as part of a drive on the beautiful coast and took in other highlights. Mark also accommodated our special requests: we did a bit of Jewish history and visited a couple of synagogues in Melbourne and its surrounds plus we visited a Jewish area of Melbourne where we enjoyed bagels and could visit kosher shops. Very cool and much appreciated. Finally, Mark made time for us to visit the Australian Open (which was just getting started) so that we could see the site and hit the gift shop for special souvenirs. What a bonus! Small group and private touring is wonderful: its personal, you can set the pace and see exactly what you chose. Mark accommodated all of our wishes and it was a memorable day. Thank you! If visiting Melbourne (especially if travelling by ship when time is limited), Mark's private tours are a great (and cost-effective) way to visit beautiful Melbourne.
Mark showed us in a few hours the best of Melbourne with various tips
We loved the tour we were given. Amazing everything. The comfort of the car. Explanations and places visited. We only had 4 hrs to visit and could give us a very good idea of Melbourne. Super recommended
