We had a great experience with our guide, John. He met us at our hotel and showed us many different areas in the CBD. We learned not only about the history and politics of Victoria and Australia but also about the food culture and some great "hidden" spots to visit. We appreciated that John offered to tailor the tour to our specific interests (though we left the choices up to him). John was very knowledgeable and engaging and got our holiday in Australia off to a great start! One other thing that really impressed me: Before we even arrived in Melbourne, Depot sent out an email with information about restaurants. This was very helpful for making plans ahead of time, and I suppose would be especially useful during busy times like Australian Open. I would strongly recommend this tour and especially suggest it at the start of your visit to give ideas of things to do while you are here.

hugo did a great job showing us the melbourne you don’t get from a guide book.. lots of fun and unusual spots frequented by locals. we also saw the highlights and heard about melbourne’s interesting history!
My tour guide was fantastic!!! She was knowledgeable, fun and entertaining!! I highly recommend her for your tour.
Hugo was excellent! Would highly recommend this tour! Hugo was very knowledgeable. He made excellent suggestions based on our interests. Definitely 2 thumbs up.
Hugo is the absolute best. Entertaining, knowledgeable, fun experience. You’ll get insider look at what Melbourne offers. It’s readily apparent how much he loves his city. And he tailors the experience to what interests YOU.
We did not expect eat to fall in love with Melbourne. But we were wrong. Laura was amazing and passed on to us a passion for the city we will never forget. It was a wonderful and fun and educational experience. 10 stars!
Our tour with guide Hugo in Melbourne was the best! His knowledge, friendliness, and attention to detail was exceptional! We had a great time and it was worth every penny!
Hugo was a great tour guide. Highly recommend. Loved the hidden bar tour, lots of cool places we didn’t know existed
We had the best tour with Hugo discovering the city. He was full of knowledge and show us a heap of hidden gems. Would highly recommend doing this tour. We had children and Hugo was so accommodating and even incorporated things the kids like.
Great tour!!! Fun and informative! Really got a feel for Melbourne. Hugo is a terrific guide. Loved it.
Wonderful three hour private tour of Melbourne. With a few questions, our tour guide was able to customize a tour for our family. This included the various arcades, street, art, state, library, lightning, ridge, opal, store, and chocolate shop! Hugo was knowledgeable and patient. Our kids are nine and 11 and we deviated from the original plan a few times. Hugo could not have been better! Private tours are worth the extra money, and this was done extremely well.
Hugo was a fantastic tour guide! He brought us to all the cool places you would not find on your own. We learned so much about the history of the city!
Marc was our guide and he was both entertaining and informative. He asked us what sites in Melbourne we wanted to see and then tailor made our tour to our interests. It was a warm afternoon in the summer so we asked Marc to take us to a gelato shop to cool down. We finished are tour at a rooftop bar called Goldi Locks. Loved this tour!
Not sure if this was the Tour - this was just myself and a charming Italian lady - and of course, John. I know Melbourne a little (I live in Sydney) but I wanted someone with more insider knowledge. I didn't want to miss Laneways and stuff. John was a great guide and host - even treated us to a coffee part way through and an optional drink in a college bar at the end. In the 3 hours we walked, we say everything I could have wanted - architecture, gardens, shops (and Laneways!) and I came away feeling I really do know a bit more about the City. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful day and what could be better than a private city tour! Thank you Kevin for this awesome day!
Really enjoyed touring Melbourne with John. He filled us in on the history and culture of the city and took us on a tour which incorporated great coffee, back streets of bars and restaurants, and history of Melbourne. With limited time we had a great introduction to a great city.
Awsome Tour!! Highly recommended if you have 2-3 hours and only a day to spend. Goes through mosts of Melbourne’s signature places
Excellent guide Matt. Good historical knowledge, very interesting on architecture . Please take a tour with that guy!
Matilda was our guide. We had a great time getting to know a little about Melbourne through her knowledge and humor of the city. The walking pace could have been a bit more leisurely, so we could enjoy the sights and scenery better.
Very enjoyable walking tour. The rainy weather didn't hold Mark back to lead us through some awesome parts ox the CBD. I'll definitely do one of there other tours when I get back to Melbourne net time.
Did this walk on first day as we thought it would be the best way to get to know Melbourne. Caitlin was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and fun throughout Stopped for a short coffee break and the tour lasted 2.5 hours approximately Definitely recommend
Hugo was a fantastic tour guide, so friendly and happy to add extra facts when asked. A great experience and will book again when I come back to Melbourne!
Had a great time with this company. Our guide, Hugo, was charming, very knowledgeable, warm and fun to be around. He catered the tour to us and everything we wanted to see in addition to some must-sees. Highly recommend!
Was a great day out on the city. Saw so much that I would've never thought of actually being there. Thanks for showing us the cool spots. And thanks to Kimmy for being such a great sport throughout the day.
The tour guide are very knowledgeable and very nice....I learned a lot about the history and places in Melbourne
We did the private tour with John and it was outstanding. His wealth of knowledge about the history of Australia and Melbourne was amazing. He pointed out things that my husband and I would have never noticed. The tour gave us such a great starting point. It was the very first thing we did after arriving in Melbourne and it was a great way to plan out what else we wanted to do.
My friend and I were visiting Melbourne for a birthday celebration and we’ve both been to Melbourne before. Trying to come up with something different to do, we found Walks 101 and booked a Private Walking Tour. Our 3 hours with the amazing John were absolutely the best way to spend an afternoon! He tailored a walk to our vague answers of what we wanted to do in about 2 minutes, which just goes to demonstrate the depth of his knowledge about Melbourne! We saw so many things and visited so many places we wouldn’t have gone ourselves! He mixed our wants with other amazing places we didn’t even know we wanted to visit! The private tour was great value for money, was easily customised to us and John was so lovely, funny and informative! I cannot recommend the experience highly enough!!!
Knowledgable and entertaining, Mark is a great guide thriugh the inner lanes of Melbourne and especially the fun stuff.
Our quide Hugo was taking his first walking tour with Walks 101. This was also our first ever walking tour. Super friendly, supremely knowledgable and humorous. Thanks Hugo!
