Josh provided an amazing, informative and knowledgeable tour. He shared valuable insights throughout the day , but the best was where to sit for the penguin parade. We had the most amazing view of the penguins marching up from the sea, thank you Josh!! He also shared much information about how to protect the wild life we were seeing throughout the day. Pick up and drop off were easy and efficient. Excellent day!
Well planned tour knowlegable guide The guide was knowlegable and experience He told us the history, the conservation, the animal habitat detailedly He offered tips to see the parade Prepared a sit pad for us which i did not see other tour in the area did That was raining day and if you do not get a pad, you will get wet We also found secret spot to check out some wild animal Hopefully the the stay in Moonlit and parade could be a bit longer if possible I can see Travis is a person who loves animal and treats his position seriously. He reminded us to respect and protect the nature
This trip was excellent! We had recently arrived in Australia, do a half day trip was a good choice. The visit to Moonlit Sanctuary was a real highlight. My granddaughters got to personally interact with koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. Then the penguin parade topped off the evening. Our guide, Travis, was really amazing. He was well informed and gave us helpful and interesting information. He went above and beyond to make sure we were delivered back safely. The whole experience was delightful and worth every penny
I had a wonderful trip to see the penguins with Travis. He was incredibly kind, extremely knowledgeable, and shared excellent stories and anecdotes about the animals and the history of the area. It was definitely not an ordinary tour, it was exceptionally well organised, thoughtful, and delivered with great care and kindness. I would highly recommend it.
We booked a tour of Philip Island and Great Ocean Road with Fred. What a wonderful two days! Our day trip to Philip Island included a stop at Moonlit Sanctuary. Moonlit is a well run wildlife sanctuary that includes a koala experience, access to wallabies and kangaroos, dingoes and even a Tasmanian devil! After our time there, we left to Philip Island. Fred gave us a lot of information about Philip Island, animals of the area and local culture. The experience at Philip Island was second to none. One of the best wildlife parks experiences I’ve ever had. We were in a group of 10 which allowed us special access to the beach which had less tourists. This is well worth it! The second day we did the Great Ocean Road. It was a beautiful experience. Fred made sure we stopped at unique lookout points. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and then headed to the Twelve Apostles. It truly was remarkable. Well worth the visit! Thank you to Fred for making these two days so memorable.
10/10 for the day and for our amazing guide Travis. He made us feel very well looked after and introduced us to all the different animals at the sanctuary, including the adorable coconut! He gave us great advice on viewing the parade which was the highlight on a day of many. Thanks Travis for making it so special and for going above and beyond the entire day including an extra stop off at the end of a long day to see the incredible Aurora Australis.
Essentially , the thing I wanted to do was see the penguin parade. Ideally I’d have gone on a tour just to see that. For me it was unnecessary to go to the Moonlit Sanctuary( which is a very small and poor example of Australia’s many wildlife sanctuaries and having seen it I’m very grateful that I went to two other ones during my time here). The visit to the beach was only 25 minutes which I thought was a total waste as it’s a lovely beach and I would have liked more time there, I personally didn’t need or want the hour and 15 minutes to eat….and though the Nobbies boardwalk was beautiful and I’m happy I went, I would have far preferred going there earlier snd getting to the penguins earlier!! We only got there at 8:20 or so snd by that time all the front row best seats, were taken! I would have liked to go as soon as they opened…. have a browse through the museum which looked charming and informative ( but I had no time as had to rush to get a seat to watch the penguins!) I thankfully got a somewhat decent seat but four rows back…. I wish I had gone earlier…. brought a packed lunch…. and gotten a front row seat! By 8:45 I was finally able to get a front row seat but I had to leave and race back to the van!! I would have liked to skip the moonlit sanctuary entirely….. and dinner….. started the tour at 1:30….. had a couple of hours at the beach….. walk the Nobbies boardwalk….and then headed to the penguins once it opened!! I also spent 300 dollars on this trip when premium ticket entry is only 85!!! Our guide Alex was very sweet and therefore I gave the tour a 3 instead of a 2!!!
We were picked up at our hotel at 13.20, Tess our tour guide was very prompt on arrival and was lovely. There was only 9 of us so it did feel like we had the personal touch. On our drive Tess introduced everyone and gave us lots of information regarding the trip and Melbourne in general. We first stopped at a Wildlife Sanctuary and Tess walked some of the way with us, giving us information on some of the animals and pointed out the baby kangaroo who was pure white. We then went to a beach for a brief stop before going to Cowes for dinner. We went to see the Little Penguins coming in from the sea with food for their chicks and had great tickets which gave us the perfect view. Tess was absolutely great, really informative and friendly. I’d highly recommend this tour with this company.
Highly recommended- relaxed tour, great info provided. Seamless pick and drop. Spent a decent amount of time per stop.
The Phillip Island and Moonlit Sanctuary was amazing and a must do! We had Travis as our tour guide and he was SO passionate about his job and had so much knowledge and fun facts about the city, the wildlife and everything in between. Travis absolutely made the tour and it would not have been the same experience without him! The whole day was well organised, but still felt like we had time to see extra bits and adventure off the beaten track.
Had a really good day with Sarah, and excellent tour guide. Good stop at the Moonlit sanctuary followed by the impressive penguin parade. Highly recommended
I want to write a review about your employees named Chloe and Fred.they were so nice I did the Phillip island tour with Fred and the great ocean road with Chloe.they were so kind
Wow! I cannot recommend this trip enough! The highlight was of course the penguins but It was so much more than that ( although they were absolutely amazing and I cried!). Travis our guide was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the group had a fantastic experience. The animal sanctuary was a lovely extra and Travis took us to some breathtaking view points along the coast too. Excellent value and a most memorable day out that we will never forget. Thank you so much.
Compared to other wildlife tours, we have taken the moon lift sanctuary was about a two on a scale of five. It is a long drive to complete the round trip from Melbourne to Phillips Island. There is a stop for a light dinner in the town Cowers. What really was disappointing is that we had penguin plus tickets which allowed us to get a little closer viewing than other people. Our tour guide said with these special tickets we could not enter until 8 PM. As it turned out, we could have enter at 6:30 because by the time we entered, all the bleachers were filled. Also the penguin plus tickets bleachers only allow about 50% of people to see the penguins come in from the beach otherwise you have to watch them passing by our bleachers. Not sure why the tour was at least a half an hour to an hour late arriving. Sent an email to the company and they did not respond. DISAPPOINTED!!!
We had a good time. We were lost and couldn't find the pick up point and were grateful that Kevin waited a few minutes before leaving. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Bring some binoculars to see the penguins!
Seeing the penguins come in from the ocean. We enjoyed the commmentary that Hannah provided during our trip. It was very informative.
My driver and guide which was the same person , and he is amazing and has a deep knowledge about what to see and where to find them . 100% appreciate of him time management!!
Small group was very good , on time pickup good guide / driver , driver was help full and knowledged
Kevin was our tour guide. Very informative and took the group to scenic spots that I had not expected. Left my phone in the van. He delivered it to me. He has gone beyond the call of duty. He is a valuable asset to your company. Was an honor to have him as our tour director/driver.
excellent tour with an excellent guide, Martin!! He showed us so much that we would have missed just going to see the penguins!! Well worth it!!!
The tour led by Kevin as he was quite engaging and knowledgeable. The highlight was seeing the penguins, especially from the boardwalk. We also really enjoyed seeing wallabies in their natural habitat.
Nice activity, While the tears lots of special things to do in Australia, I won't take it as a "must do", but it is nice. I would prefer taking the car and do it individually instead of a long day..
A small tour group of 8 made the trip special. Met people from all over the world. Informative and very exciting to see the penguins.
The tour guide Alf was amazing throughout the tour. The best part was seeing the penguin parade which also had the longest time dedicated to it. It was a wonderful experience as a whole.
Fred was quite a lovely guide that I have ever met. He was patient to give detailed introduction about every corner we past in Melbourne. I could feel his enthusiasm to his career. During the trip, he told us a lot of interesting stories in his life, which made me laugh and moved a lot. I quite recommend all of you guys who would like to go to Philip island to see the little penguins with Fred or his colleagues. I promise it will be one of the most meaningful and memorable experience in your life.
Overall this is a pretty great tour - the penguins are well worth the visit (and as everyone suggests get the upgrade seating but not the “elite” upgrade). There are several stops, one with a bit of a “zoo” type reserve where you can get up close to devils and koalas etc - this was worth visiting but our guide was on his own schedule so the stopovers were pretty short and everyone felt quite rushed to get back on the bus ( although he kind of disappeared during the stopovers until leaving time). Don’t want to be too harsh on our guide, as he said he had just transitioned to this job, but he had to use gps and still got a little lost; he was accommodating to drop us off at our hotel on the way home but went to the wrong hotel. He had a pretty steady narrative but was a lot of random facts; he shared a lot of “opinions” about Australian culture, history and current social issues that some folks might find off putting - was a bit surprised at this being in the customer service industry. But overall a very good tour, bus seats were ok but not stellar, nice size with about 8-10 people.
We had such a great time on this Phillip Island tour! Frank was a wonderful tour guide - we learned so much and were also free to explore on our own. We had a small group and got to see all the animals. Frank even gave us insider tips about the penguins! You can tell he really cares about the island, the animals, and the guests. 5/5 would definitely do this tour again! Worth every penny.
We had a wonderful day with Fred. Although it was raining and a bit cold, we saw many exotic Australian animals and the highlight was the penguin parade in Philippe Island. Such cuite creatures. Thanks Fred
It was a fantastic experience with our tour leader Fred. From the very first moment Fred was very welcoming and through the whole trip he had lots of fun and energy with a nice voice of a singer. He had a lot of information and experience in this trip and informed us about all interesting points and details in each stop. Before getting to our first stop he shared a lot of interesting stories about the city areas we were passing. We had a quick stop in the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Then we went to the Philip Island and we visited the little cute penguins which was very interesting. Fred tips helped us to get the most out of visiting Philip Island and have a unique experience in watching penguin parades. On the way back home he showed interesting locations in the city which I consider as a complimentary brief city tour on top of our Phillip Island tour.
It was fantastic. Had a great day with a great tour guide! The highlight was seeing the penguins!!
I found that this guided tour did not allow to take the time to appreciate each stop. We were sometimes given 10 minutes for a stoppage that could have lasted an hour. The meal time was not well planned and we could have saved a lot of time by booking the meal directly at the penguin viewing site (a cafeteria is available on site), rather than eating at 17:00 (too soon) in a friendly area however, but you had to run to choose a restaurant. The guide talked too much and lost his mind; he did not know his vehicle well (he was looking for the buttons to open the doors) and he lost his way two or three times, despite the use of a GPS. Anyway, I really enjoyed the penguin sighting, but the drive to get there could have been much more pleasant and relaxing. The guide really wanted to please us with his explanations, but we should have dosed a little more, because it was dizzying.
