The tour operators were helpful and friendly, ensuring everything went smoothly. The tour guide was exceptional; his knowledge, depth, and understanding went beyond just the artists' work and into the craft itself. He knew all the work, who it was done by and when; he pointed out so many pieces you would have missed without being on the tour. I got to see a Banksy!

The tour will begin by venturing down the famous Hosier Lane. Get the inside scoop from your guide on how artists really feel about this lane, and how it's changed over the years.
The tour will continue through the many laneways of Melbourne, learning about the many layers of street art, and you might even spot a Banksy! Street art is always changing, but your guide will show you both the freshest paint on the streets that day - plus some of the hidden secrets all with great stories about the artists and the city.
The tour finishes at the famous Blender Studios (now located in West Melbourne) where you will be treated to an exclusive studio tour and be able to meet the artists and see them at work in our huge art studio. I thought it was an awesome tour, it was well planned, very informative, an easy meeting point to get too and I loved being able to explore the city and the hidden lane ways and learning about the different kinds of graffiti art.
David was a fantastic guide and shared lots of insider stories about the Melbourne street art scene with us. We also loved the visit of the artist center at the end. Great tour! I highly recommend!
An unmissable tour to do when in Melbourne! This was a great tour! Our guide David has amazing knowledge, is very friendly and funny too! The artwork is amazing! A MUST SEE!! Thank you!
This tour really allowed me and my parents to see some of the best held arts secrets in the city of Melbourne. We get to see small secret lanes with magnificent pieces of street art, and we also get to visit a real arts studio and connect with artists. It’s a must-see for all those who are visiting Melbourne.
Wow, I never understood the stories behind Melbourne's street art until now. Such an eye-opening tour with a fantastic guide, who was a very passionate art themselve. I'll never look at Melbourne's laneways the same way again. Highly recommend!
Make sure wearing good walking shoes . We saw a lot of graffiti and we ended the tour in the studio of the artist and it was very interesting. We got to meet some of the artist and learn various type of art.
Right from the get go this company were great to deal with. We had changes that needed to be made and they did them for us. The tour was really awesome. A great introduction into the street art culture. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Definitely worth the money spent. Beware: got quote thru trip advisor which was good NZD but when I came to billing it was in USD. Contacted Melbourne Street Art Tours & they matched my initial price.
Thanks for all the details and showing us places where we would never come!
We had an amazing time on our walking tour with Matt. We came in knowing very little about street art in general and about the scene in Melbourne. It was such a cool experience to about it from someone who is involved in creating the art! I would highly recommend it for anyone.
The tour was fantastic! Our guide, Matt, was very passionate and knowledgeable about the art and artists that present their work. It was a wonderful experience and worth the time spent to learn about the art.
Excellent tour of Melbourne street art, seeing the art through a different lens. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend tour, good for families too.
This is a wonderful tour, especially if you're into street art! The guides are artists themselves and ours was so knowledgeable and friendly. Pick up location was easy to find and on time. I really enjoyed all of the beautiful art and hearing about the artists and stories behind the history of street art in Melbourne. I was obsessed with the little picture framed art on Collins St but the art ranged from small toys/figures on walls to tags to traditional street art to huge murals - all of them so interesting! The tour ended with a tour of the actual art studio for the artists, with drinks and nibbles which was such a lovely touch. I enjoyed every minute of this tour and would highly recommend!
David was a phenomenal tour guide! Very cool way to see the city and learn about graffiti/street art. 10/10 would recommend, only wished we did this earlier in our trip.
Ben, as a local artist shared his thoughts on many of the murals and installations we saw He even knew the artist of several pieces. Fantastic tour, just the right amount of walking. I’m so glad I decided to do this tour!
Fantastic, informative walk with Louis a very accomplished street artist. I now understand street art in a different way. A visit to his studio and meeting other artists at their Bender Street premises was the icing on top of a very pleasant afternoon.
It was a fantastic walk around Melbourne laneways seeing some great street art. The guide was very informative with great knowledge of the history and styles on display also enjoyed the visit to their studio at the end
My friend and I booked this tour hoping to understand Melbourne street art from an insider perspective and this tour delivers! Ben, a street artist himself, was exceptional, sharing personal stories about the art we saw, his own street art journey, the history of Melbourne street art, specific techniques used, and so much more! The tour of the studio at the end was so cool, to be able to see the workspaces of the artists whose art we saw on the street up close and personal! Overall, this tour is worth it for the insider perspective, to understand what we were looking at and the significance of even the smallest details, from freshly painted to faded hidden gems. Thanks Ben and Blender Studios for a great time! We highly recommend :)
Ben was our tour guide and did an amazing job. He took time to give us background on Melbourne’s street art history and techniques used in creating various pieces of art. We were able to see an amazing amount of art in two hours. We were able to see pieces we would likely would not have found on our own and it saved us time. We finished the tour at their studios where we got to meet and see work for several artists and had some great snacks and cold beverages. Overall a 5 star experience!
This type of tour is certainly enhanced when the guide is an artist themselves. Especially when it is such a renowned street artist like Matt! He took us to a wide variety of street art, explained what we were looking at and gave us some info about the artist. What an amazing experience! To top it off we went back to a co-operative where his studio is and we met and chatted to other artists about their work.
We loved it!! Fascinating and informative, and the delicious platter and drinks at the studio at the end capped off a fabulous afternoon. Thanks Tom!
Looking at reviews on this site, I feel like other people had an entirely different tour experience than we did. We did not discover hidden lane ways you would never expect in Melbourne— rather, we primarily trolled the obvious offshoots from Flinders, including Hosier Lane and AC/DC Lane, both of which we had already wandered on our own. Our guide looked uncomfortable throughout and spoke so quietly that it was impossible for our group to all hear him. The absolute low point was boarding a tram, not to find more tagged streets, but rather to head to “the studio” — which took all the charm out of street art and candidly felt like being taken to someone’s brother’s rug factory…
I booked the Melbourne Street Art tour during a city sojourn with my teens. Having an interest in street art culture and aiming to expose my kids to another dimension of art, proved to be the highlight of our visit to Melbourne. Our guide Louis was personable & chilled, and gave an informative & interesting outline of the history, techniques & “rules” of the scene. We loved his works both on the street and in the studio. My teens thought he was “very cool!”, and the tour was their favourite experience of our trip. Ending the tour by being shown around Blender Studios and artist’s working spaces was a an excellent component. Highly recommended!
Amazing walking tour of street art with an street artist. Our street artist Louis Moore was very knowledegable and we saw his work throughout the tour. At the end of the tour we went to see the artists studios and other artists work.
We were led down the famous (and also off the map) lanes filled with street art and graffiti by Louis. He was absolutely amazing with inside knowledge about all of the artists and their particular techniques. We were also blessed with some of Louis’s own art (which was spectacular!). Very cool to have one of their own to show us around. LOVED.
Very passionate guide, a lot of insights and new street art, visit to artists studio is very good, friendly and open. Blender is the place we will visit, when coming back.
The real value of this tour is your guide has lived and breathed street art. He has the knowledge to explain and show great examples of Melbourne street art something you would never get on your own. The tour I think was great value for money, I would recommend this experience.
An eye opening view of the street art subculture! I doubt that most people would be able to see the difference between graffiti (bad) and street art (good) without this experience! Our guide did a great job at explaining street art and I do recommend you check it out!
Fun walking tour of alleys and art we never would have found on our own, with super explanations of the history and artists from guide Tom (himself an artist).
What a primo tour to do. Guide was informative and easy going. The art on display is truly amazing. Highly recommend this tour. Will be back again.
We loved this tour! Our guide’s knowledge of many of the artists and the culture of street art made for a fascinating and eye opening experience. We definitely would not have appreciated what we were seeing without Ben’s insights and explanations. The studio visit was an excellent end point to the tour, making real the relationship between street art and other art forms.
Great personal experience seeing street art with a great tour guide. I’d definitely recommend this experience to anyone
Ben our guide was the best , knowledgeable about all aspects of street art and just an absolute legend himself . Street art is forever changing , sometimes art is replaced within 20 mins so the tour is never the same .
It was a great experience. I saw a lot of streetart and really enjoyed the tour with Dave. I would definitely recommend it
The tour isn't just for tourists, we are both locals with an art background. We wanted to explore the street art scene with someone who works on the inside. There was lots of info about styles, experience, method, and discovering hidden little gems around the city was great. The tour ended back at Blender Studios where about 18 artists work. We had wine, cheese, a tour of the studio and great conversation. Thanks for an excellent experience.
fantastic experience! david was passionate, enthusastic and knows every artwork at any turn of the corner. the pace of the tour and the variety and comprehensive amount of art digested- a phenomenal art tour for all ages
If you're going to do a Melbourne street art tour go with this organisation which support and encourage local street artists. Louis was our guide, he gave us a real insight into the life of a local street artist, different techniques used and the artist's work. At the end of the tour you finish at their studio where you are spoilt with drinks and food whilst having a tour of the studio space. Lovely people and a great experience.
We were greeted with a rare sunny winter Melbourne day and was welcomed by Ben from Blender Studios. Before the tour had started, Ben provided safety instructions and a very detailed itinerary for the tour. He was very knowledgeable of the street art on the tour and provided insightful explanations and stories of each art piece. Be mindful that the bluestone paths and laneway roads are uneven. The tour ended at Blender Studios with a generous spread of cheese, dips and drinks. It was amazing to explore the studio and learn the different techniques and styles of each artist. We loved the paint lab! The directors at Blender Studios were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this tour if you're keen on learning more about the street art culture in Melbourne or looking for a fun date activity like us. We left with a greater appreciation for street art and the work of Blender Studios.
This is a must-do tour if you are interested at all in the street art scene. Ben was our guide and his knowledge about the Melbourne street art and graffiti is incredibly deep and well put together. His delivery was interesting and personal, which makes the tour much more well rounded and unique. The street tour ends at the Blender Studios, but then another wonderful aspect of the tour opens up as Ben walked us through his colleagues work areas. Being able to have a small glimpse into each of these artists areas gave us a once in a lifetime look at many different techniques and approaches they each bring to the world of art. Again, this is a must see tour and well worth the price.
It was a very cold and windy day but that didn't distract from this excellent tour led by Tom. He was engaging, very knowledgeable and passionate about street art. The tour finished at the Blender Studios with a look at the wide range of art being created including Tom's very cool figurines. We also appreciated the lovely morning tea.
We very much enjoyed our time with Ben exploring various street art spots in central Melbourne. We learned so much about street art, saw places we would not have found on our own, and learned to see and appreciate not just the large murals, but the smaller works of art in many mediums throughout the spaces. We also appreciated the time at Blender studios meeting other artists and seeing their work. This tour has been a highlight of our time in Melbourne and we would highly recommend it to others.
Had a great time with our guide Ben. Very informative and knowledgeable of different styles and artists. We even saw a Banksy original!! A great experience for tourists or even locals like us wantingan awesome day out. Highly recommended!!
We had a wonderful tour today with David. Although we are Melbourne locals, David was able to give us insight into both the street art scene, as well as lots of other aspects of Melbourne we didn’t know. The tour ended up in the studio where we were warmly welcomed by all the artists and given a comprehensive tour of the artists work spaces. The tour was a gift to my wife and won me many brownie points! The standard of the art we saw was amazing. This tour gave us a better understanding of the amount of thought and talent that went into creating these works of art. We have a new found appreciation of street art which adds to our enjoyment of all these special spaces.
Wonderful tour! Our tour guide Matt was so knowledgeable and engaging. We saw multiple laneways across the city and ended up back at the studio where we were shown around different artists’ spaces.
Our tour with Tom was fantastic! He was fun and informative! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon learning about Melbourne's incredible street art. Towards the end of the tour, Brodie was waiting for us at the studio with a beautiful presentation of cheese and crackers, wine, beer and soft drinks to enjoy before a tour of the studio. Highly recommend this tour!
Highly recommend this tour, David was great. So much knowledge on the history and all different styles of street art, graffiti and so much more. He knew all the places to go and got to see Blenner Studio with drinks and nibbles at the end of the tour. It did rain but umbrellas were fine and did not miss out on anything. So much better than trying to look at you phone for maps and guide yourself around. There are also places that are off the beaten track.
Second time on this tour and loved it again. Went with family last time and the whole family really enjoyed it. This time took some visiting friends and was a little worried that it would be too similar to the first tour, but it actually felt like a totally different tour. They loved it, too, and it is such a great way to introduce people to Melbourne. Our tour guide David was delightful, super proud and passionate about the art.
Tom was very knowledgeable, funny. He covered a lot of street art and it was was very interesting to find out more about the artists. Highly recommend!
Amazing tour! Me and my son really enjoyed this and the trip back to the studio. It was nice to get an insight into the world of street art
Wonderful tour of Melbourne street art highlighting well known and hidden street art. Exceptionally knowledgeable local street artist guide. Highly recommended.
