It is good to remember that this is a ‘MARKET’ foodie tour so the prime focus of the tour is understanding the history of the markets and the surrounding areas. Definitely there is a decent amount of food served. We had the famous doughnuts, cheese, salami and prosciutto samples, Vietnamese food, coffee and a gelato. ….. six stops in all. It meant we didn’t need to have lunch. Our guide Tristan was very good and allowed us to purchase things from the various stalls we sampled. This was a private tour so it meant that it was tailed, especially for us which we loved.

Delightful time walking through the market. Our guide quickly adopted to some of our food issues, selecting some different vendors and food choices. Would definately recommend,
The tour was excellent and informative. Though I have been to QV market, I did not know a lot about it until this tour. The guide did a wonderful job.
We are from Ballarat and I am a travel agent. We had a visitor from Vietnam with us . I always do a market or foodie tour when I am away as it’s a great way to explore a new city . Today we did it in our own backyard and boy was I impressed . Anna was fabulous so engaging and informative . The history and stories behind the market made the tour special .I have been to the market before but will now look at it in a different light knowing these little things that bring it ti life . All thr store owners we visited were welcoming and Anna’s little treats along the way kept us wanting more . Anna’s passion shown through and we all said we would do another tour . If you have shopped at the market you know how good it is but this tour will make you appreciate it more .I can now go back to the market and know where I am going and the iconic stores to visit . Loved it 🩷 For visitors
Great experience for a work event ! Lots of food to taste and fun facts to learn! Would definitely come again with anyone ! Anna was great
Anna was a wealth of knowledge and gave me a lot more insight into an area I thought I already knew about. Incredibly worthwhile.
Thanks Anna for a delightful morning. Not only did we learn lots about the history of the Queen Vic Market but we sampled a terrific range of foods from charceuterie style to the iconic jam donuts. Highly recommend for visitors or even Melbournians who'd like to try something new 😀
We had a great informative tour with Anna, exploring some true hidden gems of the Queen Victoria Market. She was informative and very insightful on the history and stories of the market. It was a great selection of foods we sampled and certainly opened our eyes to some wonderful vendors we wouldn’t have normally visited.
A fabulous tour around victoria markets with lots of nibbles and history. Thank you very much to Tristan for being a lovely person and wonderful guide, a fab way to spend a rainy day in melbourne. We would highly recommend!
Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Provided a comprehensive coverage of the history of the market and things that are offered.
Markets in Melbourne with Tristan was an excellent tour. Tristan had a lovely relationship with market store holders who were all delightful and so keen to show off their wares. Highly recommend and thank you Tristan
Definitely recommend doing this tour. Tamara was our guide, she had tons of good food, bars, shopping, etc recommendations for us. Anything you asked you she was able to give recommendations. Great tour guide! Thanks Tamara we really enjoyed our tour with you. The Multicultural food Tour itself was also great. You get to try a ton of foods and get the history of each one. You will not regret this tour if you love food!
My partner and I had a great time exploring the South Melbourne Market with our tour guide Evan. From a topping and chatting with the vendors to nibbling on new tasty treats, we had an in depth and behind the scenes view of the market. What a great way to try new things that I wouldn’t have stopped and tried on my own.
My partner and I did a tour of the markets with Tristan, who was fantastic, personable, and a joy to hang out with. The two of us were the only ones booked for the group so it became a bit of a private tour where Tristan added in some street art sights and other things relevant to our interests (pointed out some architecture along the tour, which we're super into!). Highly recommend doing the tour with Tristan -- A+!
This food tour was of excellent quality and great value! It definitely covered the multicultural aspect of Melbourne and our guide was sure to also give us a bit of history to accompany the food tour. Mick was an excellent guide and took his time to make sure everyone had a great experience. He went above and beyond giving us individual recommendations of places to explore in Melbourne. We tried a few of the spots and it definitely did not disappoint! This food tour is a MUST for those interested in amazing food and history! 5+ stars and would definitely do again!
I booked a Urban Adventures food tour with Trip Advisor through Viator from home over a month before my trip to Australia, choosing between two tours - I chose the one of Melbourne's neighborhoods at 1:30pm for which I would need to buy a tram ticket. The other tour took place inside the Victoria Market, and I decided I would visit on my own. I paid for the tour for 4 persons. A month later in Melbourne we each bought our tram tickets and went to visit the Victoria Market in the morning, spending over 3 hours enjoying the foods and the other items. Meeting our guide at 1:30 we were informed the tour for the neighborhoods had been cancelled and we would be toured around Victoria Market instead. I had attempted to telephone the tour company several times that morning from the hotel to be sure of the time but the phone was not answered. The guide was apologetic and offered to reimburse us for our tram tickets, but a simple email to me when the decision to cancel the neighborhood tour could have prevented our disappointment in this repeat of our own earlier market experience. It certainly was not worth the price we paid. Several of the vendors at the market which were to be visited on the tour were closed. The guide indicated that the website had been modified some time after I paid for the tour. The guide was not at fault but the company took no responsibility for communication with me. I would NOT recommend Urban Adventures to anyone.
