Melbourne City Twilight Kayak Tour Small Group

A great way to see the city at night. Plus we got to see the casino fire show. The tour guide Connor was informative and friendly, overall a great experience!

I really appreciated the bits of history and local knowledge that our guide mentioned as we paddled. What a cool way to see a different view of Melbourne. And the fire show at the end was fun. Highly recommend the tour. We plan to do either the Phillip Island or Dolphin Santuary tour with this group.

Great experience. Thankful we are in fairly good shape as retirees to keep up the younger participants with the scheduled stops for history of the Yarro river architecture. Very interesting info and perspective and reference along the WaterWalk later!

They took us on a guided tour on the river thru downtown pointing out landmarks and unique buildings etc. they gave instructions on how to kayak and were excellent at communicating as we traversed the river. Great 2 1/2 hour trip.

Loved this different look of Melbourne from the Yarra River. Guides were great, providing history and friendly conversations along the way. Very easy and relaxing. Loved when the lights started coming on. Highly recommended.

The staff were very professional and helpful. They were very patient as well. I did kayak on other tours before, but none of them took the time to teach me how to do it properly, resulting in early exhaustion. They gave you a quick lesson, so I feel comfortable to enjoy the whole trip. Highly recommend this tour.

We visited Melbourne from the UK to see family and they recommended we did the Twilight Kayak tour. We were a bit unsure as we are both in our late 60's, but decided to go for it ... and so glad we did. The paddling was very relaxed, the tour guides helpful and informative, and of course the views of Melbourne were amazing! Highly recommended, even for old folks!

After a 37 degree day in Melbourne kayaking on the Yarra was a refreshing way to see the sights and cool down.

All of us(x4 from Melbourne) enjoyed the experience. Looking at both banks while in the river is very different to from the land. Tour was well organised. Beautiful Sunset was an extra bonus. Highly recommended!

Being a beginner at this and a very confusing start I enjoyed the experience because of the guides. Enjoyed learning about the culture. The hot choccy was yum! Would love to go again! Ps: the views are amazing, thank would recommend everyone to give this a go. It was a safe and wonderful experience.

Our instructor and guide, PJ, was terrific and we enjoyed learning about the early dock area and settlement of Melbourne. Stopping to see the giant Crown Casino fire balls from the water was great fun. Good safety gear is provided and even though it was tricky at first, a beginner can manage this activity. It wasn't overly physical - I wasn't puffing or tired - and the city lights as it turned to evening were a highlight. I'd recommend it as a fun family experience and a different way to see Melbourne.

Another excellent paddle with Sea Kayak Australia. Both Dave and Cam we wonderful guides, instructions were clear and concise. Paddling along the Yarra taking in the sunset and of course the gas flames out the front of the Casino was amazing. We have done other paddles with the company and will continue to use and recommend, thanks guys for a great evening.

Amazing with a group of mates, didn't had any problems with boats around during the night, perfect time for the crown towers to light the night up

My family and I came all the way from Mexico. This was the first tour we had in Melbourne. We absolutely loved it, it is worth the time and money. Our tour guides were lovely, could not ask for anything else. They provide you with all the equipment. I would recommend to make sure that if after that you are going somewhere else, you should probably take another pair of jeans and shirt in case you get a bit wet. Also check the weather since it is an outdoor activity.

We had perfect weather and a great guide! Tristan made it really easy for us newbies to kayaking. The double canoes are stable on the water and the quick lesson at the beginning of the trip and the smooth entry into the river was slick. Tristan was a wonderful guide. He was friendly, patient, kind and informative. I highly recommend this activity and would do it again during our next trip to beautiful Melbourne.

We had a terrific kayaking experience with David’s team just after New Year’s. Tristan, our guide, was super competent, friendly, and very knowledgeable about our activity and the area we explored. The Yarra is super for kayaking, and the Melbourne riverfront is impressive and beautiful. It was really something when the daylight got low and all the lights came up. We really enjoyed the yummy snacks too. Overall a very enjoyable experience. We hope to see you on the river again soon!

Despite the pollution, the city was beautiful at night. I loved canoeing, even as a complete beginner. The two guides were friendly, organised and kind. The pace was hard for my daughter and I, as most other boats had a strong guy in it. We lagged behind and had to be towed for a while. I would have preferred a slower more mindful experience with more photo opportunities, but that is just personal preference. BYO.. insect repellent

calm river perfect for kayak newbie, great sunset scenery. somewhat physically demanding but should be manageable for most ppl, rest time is provided.

Brilliant, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. A 5-6km kayak should have been difficult for beginners, but it never felt anything like that and a great new look at a different perspective of Melbourne.

Loved it! Such a great way to see the city. Good exercise too and perfect for people who have never done kayaking before (like myself). The guides were great and the snacks at the halfway point were very welcomed after all that kayaking! I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone wanting to do something a bit different from your standard city tour.

I had a friend visiting from the UK who hadn't been to Melbourne before and wanted to book something different for us to do. This tour didn't disappoint. We enjoyed every moment from start to finish. Dane was our tour leader and he made the experience fun whilst also giving clear instructions about how to kayak and where we would be going which made us feel safe and in good hands. The mid kayak stop off for refreshments is a lovely touch to engage with the group and have a breather. I would definitely recommend this trip and I will be going again on more Sea KayaK Australia tours too. Thanks for a great trip!

A fun evening paddle down the river adding a new perspective to the city. Enjoyable, super safe even for beginners. We kayak but still enjoyed the experience a lot.

Great opportunity to see a different perspective of Melbourne, especially with the stories David had about the buildings by the Yarra. David was organized -- you don't even have to bring warm or wet weather gear, he has everything. Manageable for any skill level; and the double kayaks makes it fun if you're travelling with a partner/family. My mum came to visit me and it was the perfect kind of activity for both of us to enjoy.

I recently organised a City Twilight tour for a group of 16 women with Sea Kayak Australia. We paddled towards a gorgeous sunset for half the tour, then we were treated to beautiful city views on our return paddle. All the girls had a fantastic time- the guides were friendly and professional, and the views were incredible. I highly recommend booking this tour with Sea Kayak Australia!

What an evening! We put on a couple hours before sunset then paddled down through the city before stopping for snacks. The guide, Max, was hilarious and professional, pointing out several interesting things about the city's history. Our trip was concluded with the fire show at the crown and an exquisite paddle through the city while the city lights were turning on. Absolutely amazing, I highly recommend the twilight tour to anyone interested.

We were blessed with beautiful weather and watched the Melbourne sunset on our kayaks. We also enjoyed the fire show at Crown on our way back -- everything was timed to perfection. David who led the tour was also a very relaxed and easy going guy. Highly recommended tour.

10 of us in 5 tandem Kayaks had the most serene morning paddling to the city. David and Max our hosts were fantastic in making us feel safe bringing with them local knowledge and a good sense of humour. We were lucky enough to pick a beautiful day and the sights did not disappoint. If you have time I’d suggest a stop at Herring Island for a BBQ on route. Going to try the night tour next time for sure. Thanks guys....a great experience.

This is a fantastic experience and a great way to see the city from the west. Williamstown is also a great area to explore. Our excellent instructor Dane was patient, knowledgeable and fun. Really recommend this experience to new visitors to Melbourne, a great intro to the city. And also good to learn a new skill.

We did the Yarra twilight sea kayaking trip for my daughter's 19th birthday. It was perfect for our family of 5 with kids aged 14-19. The city is so different when viewed from the water, a totally different perspective. The Crown fire show in particular was spectacular from our vantage point. Paddling was not too strenuous and pace was suitable for all abiities. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. A great trip.

Sorry to say but I would not recommend this provider. I have done such kayak tours in other destinations and have had a much nicer experience. What to improve: the tour is too expensive for what it is! Faaaar to expensive. It’s actually not a half day tour, it’s just 2,5 hours and also poorly organised. The lunch ist just a sandwich and the drinks is just a cup of water and juice. The guides were kind of grumpy and not really welcoming. Also the I formation they provided were rare. They almost didn’t speak. 150 dollars per person is too much for what you get. 50 dollars would be suitable! Sorry to say 😔

Jacqui and Dane were wonderful hosts, they helped my family relax and enjoy the paddle. It was great experiencing melbourne from the water and seeing the people coming and going and enjoying their time on the banks of the river. The highlight for me was joining all the kayaks together, we then gently bobbed and waited on the water till we saw the sensational fireball display.

We had a great day out on the Yarra, paddling down to Bolte bridge and back through the city. It was great fun, and it was wonderful to see the city from this perspective. I have been along the bank of the river many times, but it is just so different from the water. Paddling was easy, and the kayaks are almost bullet-proof. Nice Thai lunch too.

We had an awesome day on the river. Sea Kayak Australia is one of the only companies in Melbourne that allows you to paddle without a guide, if that is what you are looking for. Great great, friendly staff, reasonable prices and excellent all-round services. Kayaking down the Yarra and in the CBD is a great way to see Melbourne from a different angle. You get a glimpse of the city that most people don't see. As 'Canadian adventurers', we really enjoyed renting from Dave. Super friendly guy. We will definitely be back again!

Sea Kayak Australia are fabulous and I had a fantastic time doing the 2 day kayaking course for beginners. Dane and Sarah were our trainers and we were a small group of not more than 5 people per trainer. Dane and Sarah were very friendly, knowledgeable and keen to help us develop our sea kayaking skills. I feel much more capable and confident in the water now and I highly recommend Sea Kayak Australia for all your kayaking needs. I will definitely be doing more courses through them in the future and will look at signing up for their tours as well. Thanks very much for a great experience and I look forward to seeing you again.

We had a great time kayaking along the yarra river, gives a difference perspective of Melbourne city even to locals. Started with a short brief on safety and how to kayak then off we went. We were very lucky that it didn't rain as forecasted. I was a little disappointed that we did not stop for a snack at a location where we could have had a better view of the sunset. Also, one of the main attractions which was the fire show display at Crown did not happen that night. Overall a fun experience but should be better value.

What a fantastic adventure this was! We had the most perfect evening for our sunset kayaking tour on the Yarra River. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. We set off from the rowing sheds and headed into the sunset down the river. The historical commentary along the way was very interesting but at times hard to hear depending where you were in relation to our guide. Perhaps a microphone would help. We stopped before heading back and had a snack of delicious fruit, cookies and juice. The trip back had us stopping outside Crown for the fire display which looks absolutely spectacular from the water. We had a fabulous evening and would recommend it to everyone.
