Our guides, Ben and Martin (trainee) were courteous and knowledgeable. The tour started with a welcoming on-time pickup from our hotel. Then we were off to the sites outlined in the itinerary, we did have an opportunity to modify the journey to see more highlights in the allotted half day tour. Especially enjoyed the stop for coffee and tea which was at an amazing energetic cafe in the Italian neighborhood area. The story behind the colorful bath box houses on the beach was interesting and they are a must see attraction for an instagram moment. The sports complex and F1 circuit area was fun to see. Several cricket games were underway as we drove through it. Even saw a baseball field complex.

This was the perfect way to start our visit to Melbourne. Our guide was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We learned a lot in a short amount of time. It was raining at the start of the tour, so we rearranged the stops and avoided much of the rain. Appreciated the hidden gems and suggestions in the market. We found 2 great restaurants to visit later in our trip because of this tour. Thank you! Great experience, highly recommend.
Kenny was a great guide! Very knowledgeable and accommodating for what we wanted to see. Highly recommend! Will be reaching out next time I’m back.
Being able to customize the city tour was just what our group needed. More time in some places, less in others. Worth every cent to get a private tour
Only had one day in Melbourne. Half day tour was great. Pickup at our hotel and guide was professional, friendly and tailored to meet our needs. Explained how free city transportation works and city areas to revisit during our stay. Wonderful city area was explored.
Melbourne half-day tour was great and worth the experience. Thanks Ben (tour guide) for a wonderful & informative day.
Dealing with Ben was a real Pleasure from start to finish. A polite email a few days before our booking date gave us the opportunity to customise our experience. This was our first touristy trip to Melbourne and Culture Question Tours's itinerary provided a perfect balance of viewing iconic buildings, history, gardens with life such as everyday coffee and cake culture in Lygon Street in a compact 4 hours. We especially enjoyed the one on one with Ben and all the colourful stories bringing the city to life. Highly recommended. Susan & Les Callaghan Cairns, Qld
Ben is a very experienced guide who tries to fulfil our needs. He shares rich history and stories of Australia and tries his best to cover NGV, best world Lune croissants, Art Hosier St, Royal / Block Arcade, tram ride, Chinatown, state library, Federation Sq & local Yo-chi Yoghurt. Thank you for the wonderful experience 😊
Our tour of Melbourne with Fred was fabulous! We learned so much and saw a lot of interesting places. Fred is an outstanding tour guide. He is witty and funny and it is amazing what he knows and shares. It was so much fun to spend time with him. He is so enthusiastic and he loves his job which truly makes this tour more memorable and enjoyable. Highly recommend him for this tour or any other tour he does. Thank you very much!
We took this tour from our cruise ship in Melbourne. Our guide, Elena, met us at the appointed time in a comfortable SUV. We drove through the outskirts of Melbourne, making several stops for views and photos. We briefly visited both the Botanical Garden and Fitzroy Garden before parking and taking a walk downtown. We saw the graffiti streets and a couple of shopping arcades. Elena was great and pointed out many historical sites. At the end, she drove us to the Queen Victoria Market, where we continued our day. We had a nice time with Elena and would highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. Ben was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history, culture, architecture, and geography of Melbourne.
Our 1/2 day tour of Melbourne far exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Elena, was just a wealth of knowledge. She drove us all over in her immaculate car and we were able to do and see even more than we had originally planned. I would 100% recommend this for anyone visiting. It was a great experience filled with tons of information, laughs, pictures and May sights that we likely wouldn’t have had time to see otherwise. 10 out of 10
Ben was the best tour guide we have ever had. Having visited over 60 countries, I do not use that statement lightly but he went above and beyond. We only had a half day tour but we wish we had spent longer. Ben picked us up in a bus and gave a whistle stop tour. We visited downtown, Fitzroy Gardens, Albert Park and St Kilda amongst other places. We were so impressed by Bens knowledge of the culture and history.
Camille was awesome! Best tour yet. He contacted us beforehand to make sure we knew where to meet him, he was on time and very flexible. He is also very knowledgeable about Melbourne. He’s a keeper!
It was raining but the tour guide made the tour easy. He was knowledgeable about Melbourne and he took us to important places to see in Melbourne. We highly recommend him as a tour guide.
Getter than exceptional. In 4 hours we learned so much about Melbourne that we started to feel at home. This is an overview of the city from the architecture to the history and art. Even the graffiti on the alleyway where we found a small signature by Banksy. I would strongly recommend this tour to set up the framework of what to spend time later in the day exploring.
Viviana is the best guide ever, she explained every stop with lots of details, she is very kind, we really enjoyed melbourne
We had an excellent half day with Elena. We were treated to a very in depth and fun tour of the city. We hit all the major Melbourne attractions , as well as the hidden gems. Communication was great and it was very easy to find her at the cruise pier. I highly recommend this tour and highly recommend Elena,
Had a wonderful time! Elena was lively, fun and accommodating. Loved having her share her city w us.
Excellent 4 hour trip around Melbourne. Our host Viviana was knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend.
I did really enjoyed this tour with Ben, he is very friendly and knowledgeable, it was the best day of our tour to Australia thanks to Ben. Highly recommend.
Ela was very friendly and knowledgeable. Her personal insights enriched the excursion. She wa S very attentive to our needs. She's a joy to be with. I highly recommend. This tour and Ela as a guide.
This was a fantastic tour that I experienced solo with the guide Ben. He is extremely knowledgeable about Melbourne and the related history and culture. My tour happened to be on one of the hottest days in Melbourne, but Ben ensured it was a comfortable visit to the tourist destinations and also customized it according to my needs. I would highly recommend this tour and the company. Enjoy.
This was a private tour and Camille was a wonderful guide. He modified the tour to allow more time in places that he knew we would enjoy. We were able to walk through beautiful green spaces, see all the highlights of Melbourne and so enjoyed our coffee break at the most fabulous cafe in little Italy. We couldn’t of picked a better tour, operator or guide. Don’t hesitate to book this tour.
We enjoyed a 5 hour tour around Melbourne with Elena. Elena loves history and though Australia is her adopted home she has learned the history of Melbourne and Australia to share with guests. She drove us all over the city explaining the neighborhoods and sights along the way. Saw the beach huts and bath houses and federal square and 2 churches, inside and out, several street art lanes, Fitzroy gardens, the formula one race course, the skyline and sports stadiums and much more. As my husband has mobility issues she took special care to drop us off and come back for us when she wasn’t able to find parking nearby. All in all, well worth investing in a private guide.
Tour operators cancelled on us 1 day before our scheduled tour. We booked a specific time. Other times of that day were already booked. Then 1 day before we get notified it is being cancelled. Unfortunately for us, we are here in Melbourne for only one day and wanted this tour. Now there are very few options for us to choose. Non of which we really want. Very disappointed that this tour operator doesn’t have their company operations managed properly. Don’t book from this operator knowing they might not have the staff or personal to operate a tour even though they advertise they do.
Camille was prompt, nice, and informative. Would definitely recommend. A great overview of the city.
It’s an opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of the city with a local guide. We were able to learn about how locals live. Tasted Melbourne magic. Yummy!
We had an incredible time on this half-day tour of Melbourne. Ben and Leo were fantastic. It’s the perfect way to see the city’s contrasting sides in just a few hours. The Highlights: • Brighton Beach Boxes: They are so iconic and vibrant—definitely the best photo op of the day! • Hosier Lane: The street art here is mind-blowing. Our guide explained how the scene works and pointed out some of the most recent murals that we definitely would have overlooked on our own. • The Gardens: A lovely, peaceful contrast to the city buzz. Walking through the manicured gardens was a great way to slow down and enjoy Melbourne’s greenery. • Coffee Stop: You can’t visit Melbourne without a coffee break! We stopped at a local cafe that served a world-class flat white. It gave us the perfect energy boost to finish the tour. Verdict: Our guide was punctual, friendly, and full of local trivia. If you’re short on time but want to see the most Instagrammable spots in the city, this is the tour for you.
Camille was an excellent tour guide. He adjusted his schedule to accommodate us. He was very patient and gave us a wonderful tour of beautiful Melbourne! What a great city!
It was a wonderful half day. We saw a great deal at Melbourne and our guide was knowledgeable. Thorough and fun would definitely recommend.
The tour was very interesting and informative. Ben is an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about Melbourne and Australia in general. He was able to tailor the tour to our interests and did a great job of explaining the sights and making them come to life with the history and stories.
Viviane was a wonderful guide! She was very responsive and helpful and is a very nice person. We had a great overview of Melbourne and the tour was a good mix of driving and walking.
The day was amazing and Elena, our italiana guide, was an exceptional guide, the car was super clean, we are very happy. Super!!
The tour gave a wonderful introduction of Melbourne including its hidden gems. Viviana was a great guide who took us to different places of interest and explained things perfectly. The vehicle was in good condition. We fully enjoyed the experience despite some rains.
We had a slight mixup of the schedule but our provider Ben was very understanding and made sure we had the trip as expected. An excellent experience
First time in Melbourne, was great to get a tour of the city. Gave us a good idea of what to come back and do after the tour.
From top to bottom, we were able to see Melbourne from the glossy shops to the quirky Brighton Beach, to the magnificent memorials and flowers more than we could have imagined at the gardens. We were able to see all of Melbourne and hear fascinating back stories that let color and richness to our experience. It gave a depth to Melbourne that we would not have gotten on our own really impressed with the quality of the tour you will not be disappointed. We learnt more history and interesting sites than we had anticipated. The tour was personable and informing and fun.
The tour was exactly what we were looking for . The operator really knew so much about the city and took to areas where we would not have found on our own
Ben was kind and extremely knowledgeable. When we expressed interest in cricket & F1 he adapted the tour & found us the F1 shop. Then drove us around Albert Park to “experience” the track at considerably slower speeds. Thx Ben for being a gracious host for your city.
So nice that we booked this tour the night before and Ben was able to pick us up at the airport, show us all around Melbourne, and then drop us off to meet our friend who was picking us up. We got to see all around the city. Be sure you ask for the specific things that you want to see. Thankfully, Ben was very flexible and picked us up a little early since our flight was so early. He was also very knowledgeable about this city and enjoyed telling us about it. We enjoyed our day!
