Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable in everything, telling us about the history and geography of everywhere we went, found us koalas, kangaroos, and even stopped to show us an echidna in the wild! Because it was a small group we didn't have time or attitude problems with anyone, thankfully! Not to mention experiencing the breathtaking scenery and natural surroundings first hand like this, we even got to touch the ocean! It was incredible, and a very valuable experience overall. This was our best day yet! Jimmy was our guide who was very funny and entertaining! We saw the 12 Apostles which was amazing but also the trips back were great - seeing wild koalas asleep in the trees and kangaroos and then stopping at an amazing chocolate shop for ice cream the whole day was brilliant!

We were totally amazed and enjoyed the Great Ocean Rd tour with Warren, the tour guide and the driver. We were mesmerized by the beautiful sceneries of Port Campbell National Park where the 12 Apostles stood proudly. We saw Koala bears in Marengo, enjoyed those famous Dooleys ice cream in Apollo Bay town, and the yummy chocolateries, and saw a bunch of kangaroos in the field. Warren had made our trip extra special due to his hilarious banter (Ozzie twang) that we all enjoyed and lots of laughing all the way. He went out of his way on taking us to extra sightseeing places as our group had been great on scheduled time. We will definitely recommend our friends to join your company tours. The experience is very great. Our tour guide, Mr Jimmy Chen is very friendly and managed the time well by bringing us to various sightseeing spots in limited time. We managed to see koala and kangaroo in our trip as well.

I like the reverse tour. It avoided the crowds. We had a wonderful guide-very knowledgeable and friendly. The only issue was that he was hard to understand.

The tour ran from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and the first thing I want to do is express my sincere gratitude to our guide, Jimmy Chen, for keeping all 13 of us safe, comfortable, and entertained throughout this long day. To be honest, visiting the Great Ocean Road, including the Twelve Apostles, in just one day from Melbourne is no easy task. Spending so many hours on a bus with people you’ve never met before can also feel a little overwhelming. That’s why I believe the role of the tour guide is so important. A great guide can make all the difference to the overall travel experience. Our guide, Jimmy Chen, drove for almost 12 hours and did his very best every step of the way to keep us entertained and show us as much as possible. The Great Ocean Road was not on my initial "must do" list for Australia. More fool me... This tour is a brilliantly-judged, impeccably-timed "one stop shop' which will satisfy your desire for photos and precious memories, or whet the appetite for a return visit. Or maybe both. I can't imagine not doing it in reverse: it makes so much sense to arrive at the Twelve Apostles in mid-morning rather than the afternoon. And there's still plenty more to see and enjoy afterwards. If you're on time for stops, there might even be some surprise additions to the intinerary! No promises or guarantees - I acknowledge that our group was incredibly lucky with the weather, for example. Beautiful, sunny and almost cloudless, when Melbourne had been drenched just the day before. And we also had good fortune with a couple of wildlife stops. In the end though, the scenery is enough to make this a five-star day in itself, and to inspire dreams of a self-guided adventure spread out over a few days. Finally, this review would not be complete without paying tribute to our guide, Warren. A natural storyteller who goes the extra mile to make everyone feel at ease, constantly available for questions, while providing facts, quizzes and jokes throughout the day. Apparently he's done this trip over 550 times, and still loves every minute. If that isn't testament to the charms of the Great Ocean Road, and incentive to book as soon as possible, I don't know what is. Put it on your MUST-DO list NOW!

This was a great tour. Communication was great. They helped determine which pickup site was best for us. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. It is a long day of driving, but by doing the tour in reverse order, we were able to avoid the crowds. We saw koalas and kangaroos in the wild and had a great stop for lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Our guide Warren was knowledgeable, informative, had a great sense of humor, and genuinely wanted us to have a memorable journey. We enjoyed all the stops in the itinerary and still had time at the end for ice cream :) Apart from the amazing ocean views and sites such as the Steps and the Twelve Apostles, I loved seeing the walking trail through the rainforest. It was easy to imagine the giant ferns and old-growth trees exactly the same in the time of the dinosaurs! We were absolutely thrilled to sight Koalas, Kangaroos, and even an Echidna along the way... so glad we elected to take this tour!

I really liked the idea of the reverse itinerary and it worked out great. The scenery is spectacular and it was a pleasure to be able to sit and enjoy while someone else did the driving. A highlight was being pocked and dropped off right at our hotel. Did not realize we’d get koalas d kangaroo sittings, that was fun too. I would have appreciated an opportunity to pick up a quick coffee n muffin at the 1st rest stop.

It was a Great full day tour. Everything was as advertised plus some bonus updates. We saw wild kangaroos and koalas, beautiful scenery, and our guide, Jimmy was kind, helpful and prepared. The rhythm of the tour is also great. It’s worth going for an earlier pickup location so you can sit more in the front and on the right (ocean) side - while if you wait for the last pick up, you may end up on the back left corner. Still it is a very comfortable ride and good food options on the way.

This was hands down the best tour I’ve experienced in Australia! One of the biggest advantages was the small group size, especially compared to other tours I’ve been on with much larger groups. It made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and personal. Our guide was absolutely fantastic, with an incredible amount of knowledge and excellent organisational skills. I’m really sorry I can’t remember his name, but he was the guide for bus No. 15! He did an amazing job throughout the entire day. The weather was cloudy in the morning, but the sun came out later. However, regardless of the weather, we were treated to so many breathtaking views! Because our group was always on time, and often even ahead of schedule, our guide was able to take us to several additional stops. Thanks to this, we got to see koalas and kangaroos in the wild, which is always so much more special and natural than seeing them in a zoo. For the first time on a tour, I genuinely felt that there was enough time at every stop. Nothing felt rushed, and we could really enjoy each place without constantly watching the clock. This made such a huge difference to the overall experience! I honestly couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. It was the best tour I’ve taken in Australia, and if I’d known about this company earlier, I would have booked all my Australian tours with them! Absolutely worth it – 5 stars without a doubt! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an incredible day out and I would definitely book this tour again in the future. The whole trip was paced perfectly with a variety of stops that allowed us not only to see the great views from the coast but also Koalas, Kangaroos, and a beautiful forest. We stopped for lunch in a nice little town where the beach was amazing. The guide/driver was very informative, nice and also drove really well.

It was a small group tour. The driver guide did well in ensuring us ahead of other tour group so we could take better spot for photos. The only con was the seats for the van were not that comfortable.

Absolutely brilliant!!! The reverse itinerary meant we skipped the queues and had minimal other guests to compete with for prime photo positions. Our tour guide was so good, he was knowledgeable and funny and made the whole experience more enjoyable, he took time to chat with all guests and accommodated requests. Highly recommend

This is a must do! The itinerary is perfect for what we wanted. It was a full day but we saw so much including koalas, kangaroos and even a wallaby! The views were incredible. Our guide, Peter, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, very funny and entertaining. He knew the spots to take us that were not crowded which made it an even more pleasurable outing. Anyone looking at this outing, I highly suggest doing it!!

We had an absolute fabulous day out on the Great Ocean road with Kevin. We lernt a lot about rabbits, indigenous sites, WW1-the longest war memorial, bush fires and native animals. We saw, a skunk, 3 koalas snoozing in trees, more than 10 kangaroos and lots of birds. We tasted Aussie Pies and Chocolates. And of course we enjoyed the very impressive cliffs of the 10 Apostles and the surrounding immense force the Southern Ocean. Kevin was a great very knowledgeable guide and a superb driver. Love the reverse itinerary! It's my 3rd time to do the Great Ocean Tours, and this reverse itinerary is by far the best one yet since you avoid all the crowds. Our Tour Guides Marty and Warren?Warden? were great tour guides! Very informative, very lively, and cheerful. had the best time with these two! Also got a small koala clip as a souvenir at the end of the trip. Such a cute memento from Hit The Road Tours! Will book with them again!

I am conflicted as I write this review. Nothing bad happened on this tour. The driver was pleasant. The places we saw were great. However, the tour was almost 12 hours long. Of that 12 hours, about 2 1/2 to 3 hours was time spent actually out of the car. The other 9 hours or so was driving. It was a LONG day driving. All of us on the tour felt this way. Again, the sights were great. We saw the 12 (8 left) apostles, we saw koalas way up in the trees. We saw some pretty beaches. We ate at a nice restaurant at a seaside town. That was all great. However, most of the day we spent in the car. Our driver was pleasant but did nothing to help us pass the time. He mostly just drove and from time to time gave us some commentary. The entire trip he played techno elevator music. I was so sick of it by the time we arrived. The trip was pretty much as advertised, but they don't really tell you how long you will be spending in the car. I wouldn't do it again. With a driver who was entertaining and some decent music it would have been more enjoyable.

First time visiting Australia & Melbourne and wanted to experience a lot of what made this region special and this tour checked off all the boxes. Marty was an awesome tour guide that mixed facts with fun making the long drive fun and engaging. The tour blended the perfect balance of food, sightseeing, and wildlife experiences and I don't think anything could be changed to make it better.

We were fortunate to have amazing weather and the sights were spectacular. Our guide, Ann, made sure we stayed ahead of the large buses so that we never had to wait for space on the viewing platforms or walk crowded trails. She even went out of her way to make sure we saw a koala and kangaroo in the wild. Note that there is a significant amount of walking on trails to see some of the sights and you will be getting in and out of the van a number of times.
