From Melbourne: Hop On Hop Off Yarra Valley - Green Route

We took a family trip (all adults) to the Yarra Valley. The Hop It team gave great advice and they were very responsive and organized. Ceps was our driver and he was excellent. He gave us many great tips and recommendations for the Yarra Valley and beyond. He was flexible and we were able to enjoy each of our stops. The wine, food and scenery were amazing. Highly recommend a day trip to Yarra Valley when visiting Melbourne.

Fabulous day out in the Yarra. This tour provides the opportunity to design your own day from a wide variety of venues. Our expert guide, Ceps, was knowledgeable and entertaining as he filled us in with the insiders’ tips for each venue. He was professional and caring, always making us feel comfortable and keeping the day running smoothly. Enjoyed our four stops, and with Ceps’ tips, we truly got the best out of our day. The tour company are very thorough, providing good communication prior to the day. Such a relaxed and fun way to sample some of the delights on offer in the Yarra Valley. Will definitely be back to try some of the other stops.

We had such a great experience on the Hop It bus tour Easter weekend! This was our second time doing a tour (we did the Red Route previously and this time the Green), and it was just as enjoyable. Sep was fantastic — really knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole day run so smoothly. He shared lots of helpful tips and recommendations, including ideas for future routes we’re keen to try in the Mornington Peninsula. Everything was well organised, we were always on time (even early!), and he genuinely looked out for everyone throughout the day. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back again!

This was a really good way to spend a bit more time enjoying wine tasting in the Yarra valley. It's a more personal experience, with fewer people in the minibus and being able to choose our own itinerary. Our driver, Ceps, was lovely and had some great tips to share along the way. Thank you for a wonderful day out. It was really great value for money and we would definitely do it again!

Absolutely great tour, our second trip with hop on Hop off. Only issue is how do I get all this wine home!! Driver super friendly and so informative, Ceps was a rockstar!

The best way to visit the Yarra Valley is to hire Hop it! They are very organized and offer you enough information to choose the best wineries. You forget about having to drive and just enjoy the wine tastings. They are punctual and the meeting point is very central...then they take you back to Melbourne super safe. Jon was my driver, very funny and friendly!!! Thank you for a great day in Yarra Valley!

The Hop-It experience was FANTASTIC! Sara gave us great advice about exactly which wineries to hit, made the logistics work beautifully, and paced it just right. Would highly recommend over a big-group *or* even a fully-private tour.

Can not say enough about how fantastic this service is. You have the choice of the winery you wish to visit from a large list and have time to spend there, sampling the wine and the food. Sarah is the most wonderful host, friendly, funny and very helpful and knowledgeable. You also see the wonderful Yarra Valley. Highly recommend Hop It for anyone coming to Melbourne and wanting to visit the wineries.

My mother and I had a great time with Hop It. We are not big wine drinkers and wanted to just have an experience. Sara our driver recommended the most terrific options that's customized to our need with something boutique, something with history and something grand in scale. Every other groups on the van has a different agenda but all fitted together nicely. The van is clean and comfortable, the group size is just nice, and the tour planning is super efficient.

And yet another fantastic experience with Hop It! We tried a new route - the Green Route this time. Jon made the tasting bookings a breeze, and our driver, (bi)Ceps, was so helpful on the day. We loved discovering some smaller, hidden wineries that were new to us. A perfect, hassle-free way to enjoy local wines—highly recommend!

Hop It wine Yarra Valley wine tour was amazing. We visited Punt Road, Oakridge, Innocent Bystander and Four Pillars Gin Distillery. Our driver and guide Ceps was amazing. He gave us additional information, let us select our tunes and he was very engaging in our conversation. We think he’s the best and highly recommend him and Hop It Yarra Valley wine tours.

Wonderful day tour. John and Sara were were very informative, friendly and extremely helpful. They were on time at every spot to collect us and sent an SMS at each stop to advise us of pick up time which we really appreciated as after a few wine tastings we both forgot what the pick up time was. 😁 The bus was spacious, clean and free bottles of water were available. They had an extensive range of stops we could choose from and we loved seeing the beautiful wineries and areas around the Yarra Valley. We would highly recommend this day tour and will be doing a day tour to the Mornington Peninsula with this company next time we visit Melbourne again. Amazing day out with Hop It, Sara drove us around and was a fabulous guide and made the day run very smoothly. We started off at Coombe Estate which was the best of the day, great wines and the best in terms of explanation of the wines. We did a further 2 stops staying for a couple of hours at the last one so we could enjoy a late lunch. All in all a fabulous day with great freedom to do as we wanted and try different places, that I would 100% recommend.

Sara our tour guide and driver was what made it a perfect tour the entire experience was super nice wuch a lovely green and freah experience especially the green route with the chocolate factory cheese yering station and coombe estate A muat do tour if in Melbourne

We love that they provide options that are not only wineries as we don’t drink much. We liked Yarra Valley and the chocolaterie. The company provided good suggestions for us based on our preferences. The bus was very clean and they also gave us free water.

We had a wonderful experience with Sara from Hop it. Prior to our visit, I asked for recommendations . She came up with very nice suggestions. We went to: - Punt Road: they have a lot of Fujis and Gala Apple, so you can also taste their cider, not only the wines! - Chandon: I am not a big fan of sparkling but I really wanted to visit this commercial winery. Actually I wasn’t disappointed : the view is amazing and the place is very nice! A must in my opinion, even if it’s more crowded compared to other wineries. - Tokar estate: we had the wine x chocolate pairing, perfect after lunch at Chandon ! - Dominique Portet: we had the best tasting experience there, because the staff was really amazing ! They really take the time to explain and spend time with you. Thanks again Sara!

Great selection of wineries in the Yarra Valley. I went to Coombe, Helen & Joey, Yarrawood(had lunch there) and Balgownie. Very well organised trip by Sara and Jon! Splendid weather on the day. Overall, a great day out!

We had a marvellous time on our Green Route trip of the wineries in the Yarra Valley . The instructions were clear and everything worked like clockwork . Our driver was fun and knowledgable about the different Cellar Doors we visited . Would definitely recommend .

This is highly recommended. Jon and his wife have an excellent formula to visit Yarra Valley. It was well organized and professional and good value for money. We did the Green route and loved all four options we chose including 2 wine estates and a dairy and an apple farm. What a wonderful experience.

A great day out. Well organised, punctual and our guide/driver John was excellent. It’s a very easy way to explore the Yarra Valley, and surprisingly fit a lot in over the day. We visited 4 wineries and included lunch and the day is spaced out well. Thank you John and the team at Hop It.

Wish I could give Hop It a 10* Score - they were so brilliant we traveled with them on back-to-back days! The trip to the Yarra Valley was the first. Very convenient/central pick-up location in Melbourne (@ Grand Hyatt); small group tour which is always a plus. Steve, our driver and host, was such an interesting person and kept us on time by communicating efficiently via text message (as well as happily stored our purchases). Sara was excellent at assisting us with recommendations and some of the bookings. She and her husband Jon run a top-notch operation. It is clear that they have invested a lot of time, effort, and thought into the wineries and distilleries they offer on this particular route, and it all results in a smooth decision process for the guest. Even if you have a car while visiting Melbourne, do yourself a favour and simply Hop to It with Jon and his crew - you will be so very glad you did!

Steve and John were awesome guides. Made the trip super easy. We sent them the vineyards we wanted to go to and they gave us wine and nibble advice for all of them. They were right on time to drive us everywhere we needed and answered all of our Ps and Qs.

We had a great time in the Yarra Valley on a beautiful sunny day. Sara was our driver/guide and was very helpful and friendly. We chose Coombe Estate for a tasting ( $15pp but if you bought a bottle of wine you got the tasting for free), Yarrawood Estate for a glass of wine and a cheeseboard out on the lawn with live music, Balgownie Estate for a wine and chocolate pairing tasting (extra $6pp for the chocolate - we bought a couple of bottles of wine and was only charged for one tasting instead of two). Final stop was De Bortoli where we had a glass wine each in the garden as couldn’t face another tasting and preferred to be outside and relaxed. Thoroughly recommend.

Great trip - friendly bunch on the bus with us which made it more fun. All the wineries we visited were very good. Big shout out to Bron at Oakridge - she was awesome. Jon was a great host!

Great service to try out wines in the Yarra Valley while not needing to drive. We opted for the Green Route and the locations as part of the route were great places to stop by. Sara, our driver, was friendly and helpful, and generous with details about the Yarra Valley. The van was clean and comfortable with complimentary bottled water.
