It’s a long day, and worth every minute. Curtis did a great job from pick up to drop off…he made sure we had adequate breaks, explained the history of each site we visited. Some of the places included the stunning views of the 12 Apostles & Gibson Steps (not too hard with moderate fitness), a hike down to a gorgeous waterfall, a visit to Californian Redwoods, incredible lunch at The Perch where we saw tons of rosellas and parrots, the Great Ocean Road with stops at Apollo Bay (best ice cream I’ve ever had) & Lorne. We also saw a wild koala and a whole lot of kangaroos. 1000% recommend!
really really nice experience. Kurtis, our tour guide told us some history and fun facts along the way which was good as you’ve come to understand & appreciate more of these places. group size was not too smol nor too big and all the stops had just the right duration of time spent!
Such a happy day! The itinerary was really well planned, and the restaurant turned out to be surprisingly delicious. Kurtis was very friendly and took great care of everyone throughout the day. We saw kangaroos, horses, and so many unique and beautiful views! The whole experience felt very natural, peaceful, and relaxing. The people I travelled with were also really fun, and I even made some new friends.
Aaron was an excellent guide, and the tour was wonderful! Great views, yummy food, and a koala named Greg
We had the best day and Jayda our guide was exceptional . She made sure we had a great day and was very knowledgeable about everything we saw, I would’nt hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone who is visiting the Melbourne area.
Great Tourguide. Brought us to nice places, spots and restaurants.
Jenna is a knowledgeable, affable, and upbeat guide. She shared her insights clearly and in an engaging and patient way. Jenna connected with each person on the trip. She was also a safe driver, which matters when you are on the road for 13 hours. She made the experience both informative and enjoyable. A very good guide. Highly recommended.
You do need to have the ability to climb stairs that can be slippery because of the trail you will traverse. The tour guide is excellent…providing useful information and lots of opportunities to explore. He is also very personable making the tour very enjoyable
We had the best time ever with Jada! She took us on the most adventures tour we’ve ever taken in Australia. We got to see the 12 Apostles, strolled along Gibson Beach, walked through a rain forest to see a beautiful waterfall, and the amazing Redwood Forest in Australia. She was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and a very safe driver, especially on the winding dirt road.
One of the best experiences of my life. Truly an unforgettable day. Jada was an amazing guide, driver and DJ.
Kurtis is a great host! He is charismatic and really makes it a point to connect with everyone in the group. This tour is a long day but worth it for all of the amazing sites as well as the little side stops for ice cream and seeing koalas and roos in the wild!
This was truly a well earned 5 star experience. Had a great day. Met some great people. Itinerary was perfect Kurtis was a fantastic guide - attentive, personable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We went on roads and to places most Australians have never been.
The tour was well paced with stops at wonderful localities. Jayda is an excellent tour guide - very well informed and helpful.
This was a great tour. It was a small group of only 5 people, which made it very nice. While a long day, we had a lot of great stops in this spectacular part of Australia and never felt rushed. Our guide, Tessa, was excellent. She is a wonderful driver on some windy roads. She really knew this area like the back of her hand. The Great Ocean Road has to be one of the best drives in the world. Recommendation: this tour was great because it was a van vice a bus. With the small parking lots and windy roads, I highly recommend this tour or an operator that uses a van or advertises “small group”
Beautiful scenic views, and sightings of native animals and birds. While settings of koalas and kangaroos were not guaranteed our guide went out of her way to to locate them. We saw kangaroos, Wallabies, cockatoos, magpies, and Gallah birds. 12 hours seems like a long day, but it is broken up with scenic drives for rest and relaxation., short scenic walks, and an Awesome lunch at The Perch with delicious food and views of native birds. Our guide Jayda was enthusiastic and made the day very enjoyable. Thank you Jayda
We very much enjoyed our tour. Jayda was an excellent tour guide brimming with all sorts of Australian knowledge. Her driving was safe and measured. The sites were all outstanding!
Hide and Seek tour with Tessa was awesome. low key personalized guide. Her insistence on only playing Australian artists was a welcome touch another way to learn a bit more about Australia and the music
Great trip! Fun group of people! Great guide and awesome views.
We really enjoyed this tour. The scenery was amazing, the stops were perfectly timed, and our guide, Patrick, was great.
Tour guide Jayda, brilliant! Cruise day, casual , fun, positive m, happy vibe. The young gal ( guide$ charges the day with effervescence! 12 Apostles, I’m my humble opinion, one of the worlds most sensational nature phenomenon, I have ever seen! The van we took was clean, new, air conditioning was brilliant, also had some fresh air with the windows down at times! Lovely way to spend the day, I’d you want a chillaxed kind of day, with mind blowing scenery! If Jayda ever gets a bad review? It will never be her that’s the problem, it will be the passenger! Thanks for a smashing day! Cheers, Ms. Lisa Teel
We had a great time with Jayda on this tour. She’s friendly and informative and made it very interesting. The landscape we saw on the drive was a great way to get to know this part of the country. The 12 Apostles, the great lunch..(where I spotted three new birds!!) many koalas, kangaroo.. and a beautiful long scenic drive back along the Great Ocean Drive made for a lovely day. We even stopped for a walk through a temperate rainforest which was just beautiful.
A definite highlight of my week in Melbourne! Storm and flood damage caused most of the Ocean Road to be inaccessible, but the team at Hike & Seek did well to make adjustments and ensure that it was still a full day of exploration and experience in this little corner of Australia. LOTS of koala spotting!!! Totally the energy and vibe of hanging out with pals, and our guide Jayden was supreme to lead us, set the tone, and share stories, facts, trivia, and laughs. We got a good look at things unique to this region, and the lunch spot was high caliber. Excellent communication, nice new van, plenty of time off the van, and a good bite of what amazing-ness Australia has to offer. Would love to do a deeper dive with this crew on another outing… soon, I hope!
Liked the long drive to the 12 Apostles first and rest of trip along the spectacular Ocean Road stopping to see Koalas, walk in rain forest, have lunch.
This tour was wonderful, very well organized, and exactly as described. The day was certainly long as promised but we had plenty of potty and leg stretching breaks. The lunch was delicious and in a beautiful location. I've taken other tours during my time in Melbourne and this one blows them all out of the park.
We had an incredible time exploring the great ocean road with our tour guide Aaron! Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide for the long day. He was kind and personable, which made the time fly by. He was also very knowledgeable about everything in Australia, from animals to politics and everything in between. We were lucky enough to see a wallaby, four different koalas with two being very up close, and kangaroos! The team does a brilliant job of bringing the small groups to non-touristy areas to have the best chance at seeing some spectacular wildlife. 10/10 would recommend booking with tour guide Aaron!
Great experience: scenic views of the ocean and falls, wildlife spotting (kangaroos and koalas). All very well organized and managed by our very knowledgeable and great tour guide - thanks for a fantastic day trip!!!
Excellent friendly guide. Aaron. Knowledgeable and a good driver! A long day with lots of travel but worth it to get out of the city for a day. Stunning coastal scenery. Best ice cream I’ve ever had in the afternoon. It was an opportunity to see Australia’s rugged coast line.
Andrew was amazing. He has "great ideas" our crew of 6 people was great. The food at the perch was good, it was hailing at the 12 apostles but Andrew made a quick change to make sure we got the most out of everything. Would recommend to anyone.
Andrew, our tour guide, was great. Despite the rainy windy day, he made the best of the situation and gave us a memorable view of the Twelve Apostles. He adapted our itinerary to include the rainforest and lighthouse, allowing us to see some unique sights during our trip. After a long day, he got us back to our hotel safely. Andrew is a very friendly and kind person, and he truly made our trip to Melbourne special
This was a lovely day touring the great ocean road. We enjoyed the waterfall hike. In winter, darkness came before we got to the end, so we missed some of the scenery. The lunch restraunt was tasty with a good variety and something for everyone. Our guide, Aaron, was knowledgeable about the area. He did need to speak up a little. It was hard to hear him from the back of the van. A speaker to amplify the guides voice would be a good addition.
The day was amazing!! The 12 apostles is spectacular. Plus you get to see so much of Australia including koalas & kangaroos. Mark our tour guide was a true delight. He was so friendly, kind, accommodating & super knowledgeable. I would give him 20 stars if I could. Loved the small group. Allows you to see unique places away from all the big tour buses. Best day in Australia. Thank you Mark for making it an unforgettable experience for my family of 4 and my broken toe!!
Marcus was the best tour guide we had on the multiple tours we had on our entire 16 day holiday. I was particularly impressed that he found wild koalas for us when the larger tour buses were looking in all the wrong places. The man is a legend.
It’s a long drive, but worth the time to see a beautiful area of Australia. We first got to the 12 Apostles, walked down the Gibson Steps and back up. On to a fabulous lunch and a brief hike through Mait’s Rest. A couple of quick stops along the way after stopping for a break in Apollo Bay. Our guide Andrew was great, he took us to see koalas and kangaroos! We loved this excursion from Melbourne. 12 hour day, so be prepared and you will need an average level of stamina and fitness. The hikes aren’t long or difficult, but you will be getting in and out of the van a lot and climbing stairs.
Great tour with everything you want to see! Really friendly guide with a lot of tips. Nice with a smaller group. Kept to time schedule. The lunch was a little bit pricey and not included in the booking prize.
This tour was amazing. Our host Joe was extremely professional and went out of his way to make this experience memorable. This excursion is very good value, time well spent and very highly recommend. We had a lot of fun
Mark was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The 12 apostles and the Ocean Road are beautiful. I recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Andrew did an outstanding job providing an insight into this interesting country. His running commentary made a long day all the more interesting. We had a great time. Thank you, Andrew.
Im so glad i booked my tour with Joel fr Hike & Seek. Our tour guide (Angie) is excellent and so well informed about the various places we pass by / visited. Always so friendly and full of energy. . There was only 2 of us in the tour (me, travelling solo) so as another girl from the US. And that makes it perfect as it makes the whole experience rather intimate and flexible. We started our journey the reverse way - a long drive to Port Campbell to see the Twelve Apostles first in the morning and then worked our way back to Melbourne stopping by Apollo Bay, a short 'hike' in the Otways forest and i specifically requested to stop by Lorne (which was not part of the itenerary). But because we're in a small group, of course Angie would be happy to stop by Lorne so i can check out the stunning beaches, cafes and cute restaurants. . Im glad i took this tour and highly recommended it. The correspondence between me and Joel and his team the minute i sign up has been clear and very responsive. Thanks Joel!
wow - what an amazing day. went solo and we had such a great group, led by the incredible Mark and Dino. Mark was engaging from the moment he picked us up, and was our fearless leader through a gorgeous day with a packed schedule. highly recommend for someone looking to hit a bunch of beautiful sights outside of Melbourne in one day with a fabulous guide. 10/10 recommend!!
Excellent guide! Great sense of humour, amazing at banter, knew lots of facts about Australian history and also facts about the different Australian animals! The guide was also kind and caring, he ensured that we were safe during our stop by the road to see wild koalas and kangaroos! Overall the tour was well organised, the stops didn't feel too rushed and the guide was excellent!
Fantastic day trip with visits to 12 Apostles, rainforest with a stunning waterfall and redwoods as well a koala and kangaroos with stops at towns on the Great Ocean Road. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was great- delicious food and a lovely setting. The small group size worked really well. Massive thanks to Joe who was an outstanding and knowledgable guide. Couldn’t recommend this trip more from Melbourne.
Very nice! Heading to attractions that other travel tours wont go (especially love the little hike in the Otways). Also the Gibson Steps and Apollo Bay is nice, love our tour guide Andrew who brings us along the way with his nice driving all across.
This trip was fantastic! We got to see many unique places we would have never found on our own and the lunch spot was a hidden gem. Our guide was very informative and answered any questions we had. The bus was clean and comfortable! Al thought the trip was long, we had a great time and got out a bunch to make it seem shorter! I definitely recommend for visitors to see the great ocean road!
A great trip to see the Ocean road, 12 apostles and wildlife. We were a small group of 4 which was great. Andrew was a great guide - he was really pleasant and went out of his way to make a relaxing and enjoyable day.
Well organized trip. The Twelve Apostles is quite a distance from Melbourne so be prepared for a fairly long ride. The company first drives there and then works back toward Melbourne using the Great Ocean Road. This helps avoid some of the crowds. There are frequent breaks, and the restaurants are nice. The driver gave informative reviews of the sites and talked to all the participants. I enjoyed going down to the beach at the Twelve Apostles and the small Australian Redwood forest. We also so wild Koalas and Kangaroos along the way.
It’s super rush. I have to run to take the photo in twelve apostles and the Gibson steps. The itinerary shows that it has 60 mins for each of these two spots. However, it has 30 mins only for each actually. Each spot only can take a photo but too rush to enjoy the beautiful scene. It’s really disappointed to take this tour.
Marcus saved my life. Not literally, but I was booked with another company and due to miscommunication on their part, I was left behind for the Great Ocean Road tour. I was really deflated as I was scheduled to leave Melbourne the next day. Marcus pulled up for his tour with Hide & Seek and I asked if they had last minute availability. He scrambled to make it happen and within 5 minutes I was on the road. There were only three other tourists on the trip. Marcus was incredibly informative and the small group allowed us to have conversations about all sorts of things! I learned a lot from the other passengers. The tour was amazing, stunning and surreal. It was almost like a private tour as the other passengers wandered off and I spent some time chatting with Marcus and asking a million questions. Nevermind, Marcus did save my live by chasing off a hungry cockatoo that landed on my shoulder. lol. The lunch spot was also amazing as it was a nice sit down place with a fantastic view. Be prepared for: All types of weather. Curvy roads for a loooong distance. I loaded up on travel sickness pills and I was fine.
Super and beautiful daytour, we’ve seen and done a lot. Including Koalas and Kangaroos. Waterfall, rainforest etc Top lunch location.
The tour was fantastic. Joe is an excellent and fun guide and kept us entertained throughout the journey. The view were fantastic and complimented the weather as well. Will recommend this tour.
