Good condition as per the price range water taps, door handel, door locked, light, ac etc are functioning good. Bed mattress are also really comfortable. Ventilation is also nice and you got very high ceiling with high windows, so you got fresh and nice air cirulation.
Amazing stay! The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Excellent service and a very comfortable experience. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.
We had stayed here around 15 years ago and found it quirky and fun, and it had everything we wanted for a couple of nights. We should not have returned, should have headed elsewhere. The room we had was very tired, many of the room facilities were either worn out, in poor repair, or cheap. Examples: lid of the electric kettle was broken, queen mattress is a cheap one where one person rolling over disturbs the other, batteries in a/c remotes were needing replacement hence they were difficult to use to change setting, the TVs are so old that neither could display the picture from any high definition channels and the main area TV played sound only from all channels except ch2 & ch3, no picture on 7, 9, or 10, very hard to turn the shower taps off so they aren't dripping, the placement of "furniture" makes most of it un-usuable, no plug for the kitchenette sink so washing plates difficult, the wifi was very slow and dropped out a bit ... by the way, the electric toaster was very good! Yes, we could have conveyed our concerns to the management, but there were so many issues and we were there for a couple of days to enjoy ourselves, not run their maintenance program for them! If those sorts of things don't bother you then you may be fine here. It isn't cheap for what you get but it is a nice location for a few days in St Kilda, close to tram stops, good eateries, etc. There are some wonderful art works located through the hotel including in the rooms. The rooms are relatively quiet, and cosy enough during winter. We will not go back there again.
I always choose this great little spot. The staff are so friendly. They are super accommodating and very helpful and have made my stay comfortable in everyway. Steven the manager, Andy and Jess are just amazing at their jobs and always treat me like a very welcomed guest. I recommend it highly.
My partner and I stayed here for my birthday and overall it was a really lovely experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and filled with so much artwork, which I absolutely loved—it gave the whole place a really unique feel. We stayed in the Philippe room with a balcony, which was really nice. The view was good, just not very high up, but still enjoyable. The room itself was comfortable and well set up, with a comfy bed, a decent-sized TV, and handy amenities like a mini fridge, microwave, plates, cutlery, towels, and even milk, tea, and coffee with mugs and wine glasses. There were just a few small downsides. There wasn’t any shampoo provided—only two bottles of conditioner—and the body wash, conditioner, and soap were all quite small (only one small soap too). Some of the TV channels didn’t work, although there were still plenty of good ones available. The staff were very nice and helpful, and we really appreciated that they let us check out a bit later (11am instead of 10am). The location was also great. There are lots of food options nearby—we went to an Italian restaurant across the road called Topolino’s which was amazing and highly recommend it. We also went to Banff down the street for breakfast/brunch, and their pizza was really good. There’s also a Woolworths and a BWS close by, which was super convenient. The tram is easy to access too, making it simple to get around—we went to Luna Park and the beach, both of which were really nice. Overall, it was a great stay and a lovely place to celebrate my birthday. My partner and I both enjoyed it and would definitely consider staying again.
