This is the second time we've stayed at the Royce Hotel. Both times it has been quiet and realxing. Although it's a little bit out of the city, the tram stop being directly out the front makes it extremely easy to get around to wherever you might need to go. With the exception of a missed phone call to let us know our room was ready, the staff are always attentive and happy to assist and accomodate whereever possible. We've stayed at various hotels from the Langham to the Crown Towers and The Royce would be our favorite by far.

I have never in my 29 years of life ever stayed in a hotel with customer service as poor as this one. The management is a joke, they are rude, they contradict themselves, the rules are unclear, they treat paying customers like criminals and are just generally argumentative. In a 5 star hotel you would assume that front of house staff are there purely to make your stay easier and to accommodate any request (within reason). We paid $800 for one night for the duplex suite and didn’t even end up spending the night there because of this insane rule they have about only having 2 guests to a room. To the person reading this, I ask you, have you EVER stayed in a hotel, a 5 star one at that, that requires you to only have 2 people in your room at any given time? Insanity. The manager followed my friend, the one who had paid and whose name was on the room, all the way in to our suite and refused to leave until at least one person vacated the room since there were three of us in there. We weren’t having a party, we weren’t being loud, we were three women in our 30s watching tv before bed. The manager refused to leave even after we all agreed to vacate the room that has just cost us $800 and when I began to disrobe he threatened to call the police on me…calling the police to tell them that you were standing in a woman’s hotel room while she was changing is certainly an interesting decision, which I mentioned to the manager and it was at this point he graciously allowed us 15 minutes to change and leave the hotel. I have stayed here before and been brought up to rooms before when there have been 10 people in a room, the only difference is it was a man coming down to get me. This detail was not lost on me whatsoever, and I can almost guarantee that had it been a man going down to the lobby to bring up a girl or two the staff wouldn’t have said a thing. But three young women are much easier to stand over and enforce this insane hotel rule. I’ve also never stayed anywhere where a late checkout requires half a night’s fee. All in all I can say with confidence that I will never stay in this pathetic excuse for a hotel ever again. If I could give zero stars I would
I have nothing but positive words to share about The Royce. The service, location and quality are all impeccable. Can highly endorse and recommend this venue for their hospitality, attention to detail and care they place on the impressions left. Can highly recommend.
Wonderful stay in a beautiful setting. Super comfortable bed with lovely linens. Tastefully decorated with plush carpets, well-appointed and quiet. Roomy bathroom is scrupulously clean. Truly delicious breakfast in a sunfilled room. A couple of issues were acknowledged and without hesitation I was offered sincere apologies and compensation. I will definitely be back.
We had such a wonderful experience staying at The Royce Hotel for our wedding. We stayed in the Terrace Suite on the night of our wedding, and the groom and groomsmen also stayed the night before in another room. From start to finish, the service and overall experience were exceptional. The staff were incredibly professional while still being so warm, friendly and approachable. Every interaction felt thoughtful and genuine and they truly helped make our wedding experience feel special. One of the loveliest touches was returning to our room after the wedding to find a congratulations card and sweets waiting for us. It was such a thoughtful surprise and really reflected the attention to detail and care the team puts into their guests’ experience. The staff were also so helpful with valet throughout our stay, and my husband was even able to very kindly organise some surprise flowers for me through the hotel staff for delivery on the morning of the wedding while I was staying elsewhere. That level of service and willingness to help meant so much to us. The Terrace Suite itself was absolutely stunning. The views were beautiful, the room was luxurious and thoughtfully designed, and there was attention to detail in every corner. It felt so special staying there on our wedding night. The location was also perfect for our ceremony at the Royal Botanic Gardens, making everything so convenient and seamless on the day. Thank you so much to The Royce team for helping make our wedding experience so memorable. We couldn’t recommend staying here more highly!
