Nice hotel in a great location. Room was a little tired in places and housekeeping didn't call as we found out that you had to explicitly use the Make Up Room button by the door. The safe didn't work - error message - but we lived with that as just staying for two nights.
Left disappointed 😔 Positives: - Nice hotel overall - Staff were friendly at reception( only interaction with staff) - great location - Room was a decent size and shower was awesomely powerful - visually looked nice to look at and consistent but.. it was tired and ready for a refurbishment. Negatives: - Bed was hard and uncomfortable, I sleep in swags and they are hard and the swag are more comfortable.( personal preference I know) - Was allocated room on level 3( first level after conference floors) front of hotel on a Saturday night.. lets just say you could hear every person's comments after a few drinks SUMMARY: The facts to back the statements. I booked 1 night via the Qantas app, I assume I was allocated the crappy room due to that.. working in hotels in the past, unless your at capacity you wouldn't put a customer in the worst location on your property when you have rooms free on a Saturday night.. it only leads to my exact reaction: Review I was given the opportunity to provide feedback after my stay via email survey and crickets after a week. ( no response) At the end of the day the only reason I stayed here was I did my work experience at the hotel years ago as a 16yo and thought it would be awesome to do full circle and stay here.. this was a rare chance of no kids and a night out with the wife to celebrate a milestone.. sadly they say not to meet your hero's in this case. 😕 (wife confirmed the bed and location were also an issue for her)
Really enjoyed our stay here for a weekend getaway! We were able to get a room configuration that suited our needs perfectly and the location was super convenient. The room was certainly more in the style of "classic charm" rather than modern, but it was well kept, comfortable and clean and had an old world luxury feel to it. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.
Great location, easy to commute to business meetings. I travelled for business and stayed 1x night . Staff and service really good. Room service great. My sray was awesome and will return. I can recommend this hotel to any business travellers. Central to restaurants for dinning.
I have stayed at the Stamford Plaza Melbourne many times over the years, and it never ceases to impress. My most recent stay was absolutely flawless. Check-in was an absolute breeze with zero wait time, and as a massive bonus, my room was ready for me at midday! This time, I stayed in a Superior Queen Room, which was beautifully cosy and incredibly welcoming. Despite the hotel's central location, my room was a peaceful sanctuary—free from any outside construction or neighbour noise. It honestly felt like I had the entire floor to myself. Speaking of location, you truly cannot beat it. It sits right in the heart of Melbourne's premier shopping and fashion district, with incredible food and public transport right at your doorstep. The Stamford Plaza remains my top choice in the city, and I will definitely continue to return!
