Sheraton Melbourne Hotel

TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM THIS HOTEL - did not sleep a wink. I stayed here with my father who booked two rooms. When I checked in under my name, I was told there was only one room. My husband and children made their way home accepting this information (over 2 hours each way). When my father arrived, he confirmed there were two rooms, but as it was booked through Expedia, no refund could be made. (Even though the manager accepted fault due to the confusion around check in). My father had booked this and paid for it as a birthday present and I just put my card down for any ancillary items. It no stage did I make any reservation or accept any liability on my card except for "emergencies"as I double checked this verbally with the check in staff. Weeks later, I discovered I had been charged the FULL room rate and paid for 2 breakfasts we did not eat, even though I did not make the booking or make the mistake. I spoke to the head manager who said to email him, but I have so far heard nothing. No welcome drink or upgrade form birthday, despite being Sheraton members. Just a hefty bill that was charged to my card. Consumer advocates have been contracted and I intend to use all legal means to get my money back if I continue to receive no fault liability from the hotel. WORST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!

The hotel is in a great location at Little Collins Street. Plenty of coffee hole in the walls and cafes nearby. We were visiting for an exhibition at NGV and decided to go to Old Melbourne Goal. The hotel is easy 20 minutes walk away from both. I liked my room as unlike most photos, I was given one with a fully enclosed bathroom. No glass walls for me thanks! The only problem I would have with my stay is my room faced a service alley and in the wee hours of the morning, you can hear the trucks .

We had a fantastic stay at the Sheraton Melbourne. The service was outstanding throughout our visit, with staff who were welcoming, attentive and genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Melbourne and within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, theatres and many of the city’s attractions. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide variety of fresh, delicious options with attentive service that made each morning a pleasure. Overall, an outstanding hotel that delivers on every level. Exceptional service, a brilliant location and one of the best breakfasts we’ve enjoyed. We look forward to staying again.

Had an amazing experience staying at the Sheraton. The staff are extremely friendly. I advised the duty manager that I was staying overnight to celebrate my birthday, and he treated me to a complimentary room upgrade and a bottle of sparkling wine, which was lovely. The great service didn’t stop there. I had a blissful massage at the spa, who fit me in without a prior reservation, which was hugely appreciated. Then my sister and I went to celebrate our birthdays at the restaurant (hers was a few days earlier) and were treated to another complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Impeccable dinner service and delicious food! All the staff in the restaurant the following morning (on the day of my birthday) sang happy birthday to me, which was unexpected and very sweet. All in all, a lovely stay. Hotel amenities are very good, rooms are lovely and quiet and the curtains actually block out all the outside light effectively. Will definitely be coming back!
