I have stayed here a few times before , but this time was extremely disappointed. I got to the hotel after 1pm and was told my room was not ready and that I would get a phone call when it was ready. 4:30 pm comes and still no phone call. I go back to the hotel, explained that I was waiting for a phone call and the reception has just looked at me blankly. I get up to the room. The room was spacious enough , but mould in the shower and the teaspoon in the coffee cup was dirty. There was also non stop train noise as my room faced opposite the tracks which made it difficult to sleep. After a while in the room, the room felt cold.I checked at the thermostat and it didn't seem to be heating so I called reception and a maintenance person was sent up. They checked over the heater and said yes, it's working fine. 6 hours later, the room was still freezing, and the temperature had not moved. I had to request blankets. There was no apology, there was no offer to move rooms and there was no offer of any financial compensation. I will not be staying here again.

Staff are very friendly and Tony was very helpful. Room was adequate however the chairs were covered in stains. They were down an elevator so at times that was a problem. Breakfast had many choices and a good start to the day. So would I stay here
The staff here were very welcoming. From cooks, receptionists, and cleaners, everyone was friendly and happy to help. The rooms themselves were clean and the beds were super comfy. The hotel is right on the tram line and across from the train station. It’s right in the CBD so everything is a 15 minute walk away max. But my favourite thing about this hotel was the kindness the staff showed to me when I was worried about my coeliac disease impacting my stay. I booked an all included breakfast and wasn’t sure what I’d be able to eat with their buffet style breakfast. However, staff every morning would tell me what options were gluten free at the buffet and always offered to alternatively have the cook make me a separate plate and bring it to me. I felt really safe and it was nice to feel taken care of in an unfamiliar environment. I never faced any symptoms and had a great time in Melbourne all thanks to this hotel!
I had a lovely one night stay at Rendezvous hotel. Location is good. Staff were friendly, accomodating and I liked the old rustic feel of this hotel. Commerce Queen room I stayed in was modern and had everything I needed. Breakfast selection was perfect for what you need with a coffee machine. I'd stay here again for sure.
I stayed at this hotel for approximately one month and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When I checked in, I specifically asked about parking and was only told to bring the parking ticket to reception. At no point was I informed that daily parking charges would apply. I was also never informed about Pay TV charges. At the end of my stay, I was presented with hundreds of dollars in additional charges that had never been properly explained to me. When I disputed these charges, staff immediately offered to remove the TV charges and asked me to pay only the parking charges, which made the process appear inconsistent and unclear. What was most concerning was the way I was treated. I was told that I would not be given access to my room unless I paid the disputed amount, despite already having paid for my accommodation. Staff also came to my room regarding the payment, which made me feel pressured and uncomfortable. Throughout the process, several staff members were rude, dismissive and unprofessional. As a long-term guest, I expected transparency, respect and clear communication. Instead, I experienced poor customer service, unclear charges and behaviour that I found intimidating. I have formally lodged complaints regarding this matter and would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.
