Location is really great, just 2 mins walk from the tram station. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel room is well decorated and comfortable, with necessary amenities including washing machine and a tiny kitchen. The view from the rooftop is really nice. Really enjoy the stay at punthill hotel.
We stayed at this apartment building over the weekend and our first nights stay was horrible as we were at the front of the building and the noise was awful, and our shower was broken. The next morning we asked to move to a higher floor and at the back of the building which staff were more than helpful in arranging. This was so much better and although you could still hear a little of the noise, if you shut the window it was hardly noticeable. The beds are divine, shower is amazing, good temperature. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the kitchen has everything you need if you dont want to eat out every night. There is also a tram stop right at the front door. Would recommend staying on a floor from 18 upwards and request a room at the back of the building if you want to enjoy your stay. Staff are also great and more than helpful.
Great location, although a little noisy when the trains pass by. The apartment was serviced everyday. It was very clean, well equipt and comfortable. Staff were friendly and there are lots of places to eat and drink nearby. It's a 5 minute walk from the main bus and train stations. Lovely stay and will definitely stay again when we're in Melbourne.
The room was very nice, however their advertised “serviced” apartments is totally false! We stayed 5 nights and our bed sheets were changed ONCE the whole stay! Totally unacceptable. The only time we saw cleaning staff was when they burst into our apartment without knocking, half mopped the entrance then left. I travel to Melbourne every 3-4 months and I will NOT be booking with Punthill in the future. A great disappointment for the price bracket ($250-$350 per night), we chose to book the rest of our stay with another hotel instead of extending our booking. Also their advertised views were NOT what you received at all. I do not recommend this business!! You can get much much better service, location and view in Melbourne for much cheaper.
Less than 5 minutes walk from Southern Cross station, located right in front of a tram stop which I used regularly to Flinders St station during my stay. Check in was smooth, staff was friendly. I stayed on the higher floor without city view. The room was quiet and had almost everything you'd need for long term stay - gas stove, oven, dish washer, washing machine, dryer, and even a gym on the top floor with amazing view of the city. The only issue I had was the badly designed basin in the toilet, and occasional noise from the air conditioner.
