What a fun stay to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary! Was a unique experience. The spa was very relaxing and the added touch of the complimentary mini bar was appreciated. The bed was comfy and we had a good nights sleep to the noises of the city. Only locked our selves out once, oops. Sorted that out pretty easily and quickly. Overall a very different way to stay in Melbourne and would recommend.

Don’t do it. We are “retro buffs” and were looking for a unique, “cool” experience with the full 1940s-1960s experience- for a special birthday weekend. (Think some of the vans and rooms in Vegas) What we got was a dingy car park and really smelly fire escape entrance to, admittedly, 6 very cool vans on the roof top. But other than that…nothing was “epic”. A handful of cacti for ambiance and some cement sheet decking. My partner’s first words on stepping inside? ‘Wow! This is empty!” Not even a tiny table to put a drink on. The bed was comfortable but the van was FREEZING over night because the heating didn’t work properly. The shower was so slippery, I wrenched my knee. The ‘legendary’ mini bar? A packet of chips, 2 beers, mineral water and a cheap wine. We don’t drink, so took it home to make up for freezing all night. COULD be incredible but we should have been warned by the first confirmation msg addressing us as “Hey Legends” and giving us all the “deets” 🤦♀️ Even the car park attendant seemed fed up by the attempts to make it a magical mystery tour x escape room adventure! Choose a nice vintage hotel instead.
First of all, the idea of staying in an Airstream on a rooftop in the city was very novel, and we were glad that we paid extra for the hot tub, as that was the highlight of our stay. We were also very grateful that someone was able to assist us when we accidentally locked ourselves out of the Airstream by leaving our phones inside. However, there were a few things that were less than ideal: We were provided with vouchers for Holey Moley and Strike, and this was something I had factored in when making my booking originally, both from a plans and price (I paid more than $650 for the room after booking fees) point of view. However, upon trying to book these experiences online, we found that both vouchers were disabled, which was terribly disappointing. We ended up paying full price at Holey Moley, simply because we were already looking forward to playing mini golf. While the bed was comfortable, it was hard to fall asleep at night due to the lack of soundproofing. We were also woken up a few times throughout the night by people and cars on the street, and in the morning by birds chirping right outside the windows. In hindsight, we should have read other reviews and brought some earplugs along, but at the same time, we would have appreciated some cheap disposable earplugs being provided and were surprised there were none. Finally, there were a few things throughout our stay that we felt could have made our experience better. Firstly, we had quite a bit of difficulty opening the door to our Airstream each time, and were scared the handle was going to come off. Secondly, it would have been great if there was a shelf, box, or something similar to store our phones in next to the hot tub. Part of the reason we had left our phones inside accidentally was because it was raining when we were in the hot tub, and we didn't want our phones getting wet outside. Thirdly, some additional hooks would have been helpful, particularly for hanging the extra set of towels and our swimwear. Lastly, we were provided with bar soap but could not find a dish to put it on, so we ended up using body wash each time we washed our hands instead. Hoping our feedback can be helpful in making the experience even better for future guests.
Such a fun time for our family of 4 (2 kids under 10 plus us adults). The team were super responsive, friendly and helpful from my first enquiry up until we left our stay. Shoutout to Cara for answering my questions, arranging the setup of our kids bedding and Tara for rearranging our parking on the night. The app is easy to use and getting into the place was less of a puzzle than I'd been anticipating hah! Location above Saluministi is amazing for a yummy coffee and brekky right onsite (and the free coffee with the in-room cups was a fab bonus). The airstream itself was so fun, clean and roomy enough for what we needed for the night. Shower space is long! Water pressure is great, as others mentioned. Toiletries and towels provided along with a hair dryer - unsure if I missed this info or it wasn't provided elsewhere. Mini bar was just enough, great to indulge in while watching a Netflix movie. Honestly, I didn't find the stairs (even with two little ones) a big deal, nor were any of us bothered by the traffic noise. My only recommendation is more hooks! We came on a super rainy day and had nowhere in or out of the airstream to pop our wet coats. Also some extra hooks in the bathroom to hang and dry the towels, would be fab! Would love to return for a unique city-scape.
Such a cool unique experience for our staycation in the city for my wife’s 40th. We chose the airstream that had its own private jacuzzi which was worth paying the little bit extra. We stayed on a cold night, but were toasty warm inside the airstream. Would and have already recommend to others.
