It’s a nice clean hotel, rooms are a little dated and you do hear pipes a bit with water travelling from showers/flushing I assume. So if you are very sensitive to that it’s something to note. Our room didn’t have a view and just faced directly into the building a few metres away but we were only really there for sleeping. Would stay again for its central location and good price, few mins walk to the trams and plenty of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants in walking distance.
However highly commendable is the room keeping. They even folded our pjs we had chucked on the bed which we were both shocked and impressed by! It was a very caring detail we noticed and would be great to have that feedback passed to the team
We enjoyed our time at the hotel. It was bit of a surprise to what we had expected, in a good way!
The location is great, especially with direct access to Equitable Lane’s cafe and restaurants, and a short walk to trams. It was perfect for our plans.
It’s excellent value for money, has really attentive staff and is central to most things.
Looking forward to staying again in August.
This hotel offers excellent value for money. The location is very convenient, right in the city center, making it easy to get around. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bed was soft and comfortable, allowing for a great night's sleep.
Slippers were available upon request, which was a nice touch and made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel staff were easy to communicate with and always willing to help resolve any issues. The manager was exceptional—friendly, professional, and genuinely dedicated to assisting guests with anything they needed.
There was also staff available at the front desk 24 hours a day, which provided extra convenience and peace of mind. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend staying here.
We were quite happy with our stay at Causeway 353. The location is convenient to public transportation & dining, it's quiet, the room was comfortable & clean (although we did find an undershirt left behind in the closet from the previous lodger, tucked way in the corner), & the price was very reasonable. We stayed in a standard room then, because of an error on our part, wound up having to stay an additional night. They were fully booked except one suite which we took (it was still very reasonably priced), so they were fortunately able to accommodate us for the additional night.
I frequently stay at Causeway 353 Hotel whenever I visit Melbourne for business, mainly because of its very convenient location close to our head office. I like this hotel so much that I often recommend it to colleagues and overseas visitors as well.
The staff are always kind, professional, and very helpful. Every time I stay, the rooms are clean and well maintained, which makes the stay comfortable and pleasant. I also greatly appreciated the hotel’s prompt support when I experienced an issue with the parking management company. The staff responded quickly and helped resolve the matter smoothly.
One minor area for improvement is the room key system. The key cards seem to stop working quite frequently. I was advised by staff not to keep them near credit cards or mobile phones because of magnetic interference. However, in reality, most guests naturally keep their room key either in their wallet or in the same pocket as their phone to avoid losing it, so managing the key can sometimes be difficult. That said, whenever this happens, the staff always handle it politely and efficiently by reissuing the key immediately, so it has never become a major inconvenience. Having a 24-hour reception also provides great peace of mind.
Overall, Causeway 353 Hotel is definitely one of my recommended hotels in Melbourne, and I look forward to staying again in the future.
