After exploring the magnificant Ephesus, we will have a late lunch at a very traditional local reastaurant by the Lake Bafa. Situated in the beautiful Lake Bafa National Park, with the spectacular backdrop of Latmos mountain, Bafa is a haven of tranquillity. And if you are lucky, you might witness to one of the biggest mistery on the planet, One may find this hard to believe but the eels in Lake Bafa come from the Gulf of Saragossa in Mexico. Once the eels in Lake Bafa reach a certain maturity they start on their long journey which takes them up to the Menderes River through which they reach the Aegean Sea from where they reach the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to reach Gulf of Saragossa in Mexico.

We got picked up from our hotel in Bodrum with a very nice car. Ride was comfortable and the guide was very polite and talkative. We visited House of Mary first which was our main goal. Our group was not really interested in ancient history so we decided spend more time at House of Mary and less time at Ephesus. House of Mary was an amazing experience to be at. Even though there were hundereds of people, still there was a calm, quiet and peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed it a lot. Food was very good, staff was really nice. Overall a very beautiful day it was.

Mr. Serhat was the best guide I've ever met. And I say this as a person who had ben to over a hundered tours around the world. Stories he told about Ephesus history were amazing. Such a rich historical monument. The Greco-Romen art is breathtaking. We enjoyed every minute at Ephesus. Mr. Serhat took us to an amazing restaurant where we loved local food. This private tour was a gift from my grandmother. She had been here and was always telling us stories about. I always wanted to visit House of Virgin Mary and I absolutely fell in love with here. The House is beautifuly preserved and people were really nice there. Our guide was awsome. She was super kind and easy to communicate. We had very good time walking around and exploring. X An extraordinary tour to an extraordinary ancient city. The library, the odeon, the temple, the fountain, the terrace houses and the theatre was absolutely amazing. Temple of Artemisia must have been beautiful but now there is only one column left. Our guide showed us it's original shape before it was demolished, and it looks amazing. House of Mother Mary is very well preserved. We enjoyed spending time here. No rush needed, take your time. This site must be the biggest open air museum. Stunning architecture by the ancient people of Greek and Romans. Take your sneakers with you and wear a hat in summer. Our drive from bodrum was very comfortable thank to the driver. We had a great lunch in a restaurant by the lake. Tour was very posh.
It was an impressive experience. Our tour organizer told us to go early in the morning otherwise the later it gets more the crowded it gets because of the cruisers. So we started at House of Mary early in the morning and it was fantastic. It was very quiet and all you could hear was birdsongs. House was very well preserved. Drank water from the Fuentes. Incredible structures everywhere. This is the most beautiful archaeological site I've ever seen. Library it self is a masterpiece. Preserved very good. It is mind blowing to see the traces left by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Seljuks at the same streets. Many thanks to Polestar for making this tour so perfectly.

An impressive ancient city and such a large archeological site. You can imagine the glorious days when you walk in the streets of Ephesus. Very nicely preserved and still working on excavation. A live history lesson. Walking on the ruins of this ancient city, you can see the rise and fall of the greatest empires. Our guide told us that there was once sea here where we walk, now it is 9 km away. Our trip was very well organised and felt very special. Definitely recommend.

Day time would be really hot in summer here. So best is to visit in the early in the morning or evening. Our tour guide Adem was very friendly and it was really nice.
