Notarius Hotel Bodrum

I made the reservation by phone, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was genuinely shocked. The actual conditions were completely different from what I expected: the place was unbearably dirty, the carpets were extremely filthy and heavily stained, the furniture was damaged, and a shelf was literally falling apart. When I tried to open the exterior shutters, they fell on top of me, creating a serious safety risk. There was also an unbearable smell inside the room. Because of these conditions, I immediately informed the staff that I could not stay and wanted to leave. Despite this, I was asked to pay €50 and was not allowed to leave until I handed over the money. They demanded payment in cash, refused to accept a card, and did not provide an invoice, receipt, or any other proof of payment. I believe I was treated unfairly and charged for a room in which I could not reasonably stay due to the unacceptable hygiene and safety conditions. I do not recommend this hotel. Based on my personal experience, I find it extremely difficult to understand how this property has received so many excellent reviews. Future guests should carefully inspect the conditions before paying and should always request an official receipt.

Lovely family-run hotel. Note for fellow light sleepers: you could hear upstairs’ room’s footsteps, but we slept fine with ear plugs. Building is historical and has been wonderfully restored. Rooms are slightly small but I really appreciate the thought that went into making it cozy and sustainable. Nice breakfast plate too!

For the quality, location, atmosphere, and service, Notarous Hotel offers remarkable value for money. A rare little sanctuary in the centre of Bodrum where rustic soul meets modern comfort.
