The Dark Days: Pablo Escobar And The New Medellin Private Tour

We were picked up on time by super friendly tour guide David, who took us to Escobar’s grave, the barrio he had constructed , & the powerful Inflection Memorial Park, which detailed the 160 + random bombings ordered by Escobar. Shockingly David had personal experience of these as he was growing up. The park also honors the 40,000 + victims of his 9 years reign of terror. A very informative & sobering look at dark days.

Amazing experience with David, a very close person very informed about the tour you been selected (in my case Pablo Escobars´s tour), he has hugh good vibes so the experience is absolutly friendly. Incredible Pablo tour with Luis Alberto Gómez. Luis is very knowledgeable about the history and was able to go in depth about each of the sites we visited. Meeting Roberto Escobar at the museum was a highlight. Definitely would recommend this tour with Luis Alberto Gómez.

Outstanding Tour and Joe is a fantastic guide and person. He will take you places where other tour guides won’t go (you may see if there are other guides nearby in the area that their clients will be looking with envy as you are able to visit places that they aren’t seeing and going into!) and he gives all the great stories and history of what you’re seeing. Plus, if there’s an alternative backstory, he will also tell you that so you can make your own decisions and observations about the history of the place. What I liked also about the tours that you never hear a “no “. If you want to see something he will do is absolute best to make sure you see it and know about it. Super tour, great driver too…and I highly recommend it!

Joe Posada was the best Pablo Escobar guide that we could have had. He was so very knowledgeable. I couldn't ask enough questions, and I was like a sponge just soaking up his knowledge. He was very considerate and protective over my Amiga and I. He made sure we didn't slip down the trail in slippery areas. He opened and closed doors for us, watched out for us as we crossed the street. It turns out the Joe is a very impressive reggaeton free flow-er! He had so much information that was new to me, that varied from the mainstream media. Even after our tour ended, he has been considerate with responding to my ongoing questions as I re-watch the Pablo Escobar Netflix series. Joe was pur guide for two days of Pablo tours, and towards the end I felt like he was my friend. I would highly recommend Joe Posada to anyone who wants an amazing experience in Medellín and who wants to really learn a lot. Gracias, Joe!

Booked a very last minute tour and they were very accommodating . I was mostly interested in the Griselda Blanco sites so Daniel the tour guide was able to tweak the tour a bit to visit some of the places relevant to the Griselda Blanco story. Daniel was very informative and definitely knew the history very well.

This is a well worthwhile tour, highly recommend it. We were a group of 8 guys mainly in Medellin to party, but taking 3.5 hours out to do this tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Amazing trip With Luis Reyes. I Learned a lot about Pablo's story. With my son, we met the Pablo's watchman now converted to Catholic Church about dark days in that place.

Very reliable and professional guide Louis showed me all the places related to Pablo Escobar it was the best trip I had in Medellin I saw everything I wanted and even more because I visited Pablo's museum I took photos with his brother and he helped arrange everything and the guide Louis also do not hesitate and you can confidently book this trip, I guarantee that you will have a great time and see everything you want.

Our tourist guide Luis Reyes took us from our hotel in Medellín to visit all the monuments to remember the victims in El Poblado neighborhood, then took us to visit La Catedral where Pablo Escobar was autoimprisioned and make some stops to share with locals and even meet an ex watchman of Pablo. And finally, we meet where Pablo Escobar died and visit his grave where he is with his family in Montesacro Cementery. Also, Luis speaks fluently the English language and told us the entire story of Pablo Escobar’s power in that time. Excellent!

We were picked up by Esteban for the tour ! Even before the tour began he was constantly making sure we are having a good time in Medellin and the Co-ordination was on point ! He was very very jolly and informative though thr tour! He went into depth during the tour and answered all our questions with clarity !

We had an amazing time with Luis on the Pablo Escobar tour, it completely made our trip! We loved seeing all of the different areas Escobar left his footprint on and Luis was great at explaining everything—in English. We visited the Monaco Building which is now a memorial for those impacted by the car bombs, his grave, the neighborhood he built, and the place he was killed. This was by far my family and I’s favorite tour (in both Medellin and Cartagena) and recommend you take this tour if you have any interest in Escobar. 10/10!
