Camila is the best! We thoroughly enjoyed our day--she was smart, funny, personable, and you could really see that she loves to show others the food scene/culture/history on her home. We had so much food that we had to pace ourselves...excellent value. We especially enjoyed the coffee and Afro-Colombian stops on the tour.

Our guide Camila was wonderful: friendly, knowledgeable, and her English was excellent. She shared so much about the food and the culture behind each dish. We tasted numerous samples of excellent, authentic Colombian street food, and there wasn't a single bad dish in the bunch. Come hungry, because we left very full! A fantastic way to experience Medellín's food scene. Highly recommended!
We had a great tour with Camila, she was very knowledgeable and had information on the history of the food and how it’s made not just tasting it. We found this to be a nice touch and would recommend to any one visiting Medellin.
Our tour guide Camila was great! She planned a perfect afternoon of amazing eats and stops we wouldn’t have found otherwise and had really fascinating information about the history of each dish. The order of stops was also perfect, giving us time digest in between heavier stops with some coffee and light options. We had a great time. Would highly recommend!
This was definitely the highlight of my vacation! My tour guide, Maria, was incredibly knowledgeable and gave a full and detailed overview of every food tasting. She was patient, engaging, and after each tasting, she took the time to ask for my feedback, which made the experience even more enjoyable. This tour gave me the perfect opportunity to truly experience traditional Colombian food and culture. From salpicón, coffee lemonade, tamales, and so much more, every tasting introduced me to something new and delicious. For anyone who genuinely wants to learn about Colombian food culture while experiencing it firsthand, I recommend this tour 100%! Maria was amazing, and this experience is definitely one I’ll remember.
This authentic tour offers a delightful culinary journey, with numerous local eats along the way. Your knowledgeable tour guide will provide insights into each dish at each stop, helping you appreciate the local cuisine from a historical perspective. Maria, our tour guide, did an excellent job explaining the history and path of each dish to Medellín. Very knowledgeable and informative!
If you love experiencing new foods, drinks and places. You should 100% consider doing this tour! The host, Maria was amazing at explaining the types of dishes available and recommended options to your taste! My favourite course was the Salpicon which is such a nice, healthy desert. It was such a wonderful experience with a great host. Thank you!
Maria was an amazing tour guide. The tour is a good length, loads of traditional food and background on why/ how the food came to be. Learned about coffee and the last stop had a great soup and learned about some more of the history of Colombia. I ended up with a “vip” tour as I was the only one and had an amazing time with Maria. Possibly my favourite thing I did my entire time in Medellin.
Highly recommend, a lot of delicious food and interesting facts about Colombia, its culture and food
I tried a great variety of delicious local dishes and learned so much about Medellín’s food culture. A big thank you to tour guide, Maria, for making the tour so fun and informative.
Great food experience. We had 7 food tasting. Our guide informed us of how the Colombian enjoy each food & what part of the day. Colombians like to eat. Nice to enjoy these specialties. ENJOY!!
We loved our afternoon with María. She was very patient & let us practice our Spanish skills with her. We did a food tour (with a different company) in Bogotá & want to reassure others that even the crossover foods had distinct regional differences. We did this on our first day in Medellín & found several places to return to in coming days & felt instantly more connected to & familiar with the El Poblado area. Definitely do this!
My tour guide, Maria, met me on time at the designated spot. She was awesome. We started the 9 stop food journey with a hefty portion of Colombian empanada Delicious. Maria explained the back story of this dish along with a description comparing the versions from other countries. As we slowly walked along the streets of the Poblado section taking in the sights and smells, I experienced fruits from Colombia ( more than 300 varieties in Colombia, as Maria told), other interesting dishes whose names escape me and, an eye opening coffee spot featuring a coffee lemonade and an educational lesson in coffee production in Colombia and elsewhere. We eventually made our way to the final destination featuring a generous shot of a Colombian alcoholic concoction called Vichi which went down surprisingly smoothly warming the path to my stomach. The entire experience was wonderful!
The variety of the food choices was spectacular. The guide was very helpful in describing all of the food as well as the story behind each one. She answered all the questions my family and I had about the culture of the area and recommendations for all over Medellin (Food/restaurants, cafes, views, new Spanish words, etc.)
It is an excellent way of knowing the food and culture of Medellin. The tour included only local businesses where the local people eat. Our guide, Maria, was excellent in explaining to us the history and the culture of Medellin , and how food is related to those topics. Maria made it the best food tour we ever have had.
María was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable. Make sure you show up hungry because it's a lot of food and it's amazing! Yum!
I highly recommend this tour. Plenty of good with good variety. Arrive hungry! The coffee part was a pleasant surprise.
We had a lovely experience with our guide Maria. Maria had lots of information and answered all our questions of food, culture and tourism. We got to experience several local eateries, left with very full bellies, and we felt like we got great value for our money. Maria is relaxed, super friendly and charismatic - it felt like walking the streets with a friend. We would highly recommend this tour in Medellin.
My partner and I had the BEST time on this tour! María, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and fun and we tried some amazing bites in El Poblado. I’d recommend this experience to anyone who is new to Medellin and wants a tasty introduction to the city.
Maria, our guide, was knowledgeable about the food and the culture, and she explained everything clearly and with humour. The 4 hour tour was longer than planned and was just right. Maria took the time to answer all our questions. She obviously likes her work because it shows in her relationship with the group. We were a Canadian group of 6, first time visitors to Colombia…
Maria excellent informative guide and great food choices. There were 6 on our group so enjoyable number of guests.
The food was incredible, but Maria was a highlight. She was an excellent tour guide and gave a lot of valuable information into the city, the food, and the country. I have done many food tours and this is definitely one of the top. Don't hesitate to book this.
The experience was great. We were the only ones that booked for the time slot we choose so it was very intimate. Our guide, Maria, was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the spots she took us to. The coffee shop portion of the tour was amazing! My husband and mother loved the fish soup at the end.
Great food tour from Maria. I really enjoyed my first day in Medellin and feel that it was an excellent idea to do this kind of tour on the first day. A lot of tasting, so be prepared to eat a lot. New dishes that it would be difficult to try on your own if you don’t know what you are looking for.
Bring your appetite , Mary was an amazing tour guide, her knowledge, her kindness and friendliness made this a favorite on our trip . She explained more than just the food but the history behind the food . She was prepared and well spoken. Five stars are not enough
We had a great time on our tour with Maria. This experience is focused on learning about the food history and culture of Colombia and the Antioquia region, not about the city itself, which we really enjoyed. Everything we tried was delicious! Be prepared to eat because it was a LOT of food.
This is a great tour, and a must-do if you are in Medellin. I had my tour with Maria. She was really knoweldgeable, friendly and answered my many questions ! Food tours can often be hit and miss, but this was certainly one of the good ones i have done. You will be left very full and satisfied !
This was an amazing experience. We highly recommend this food tour, especially if you are new to Medellin. Maria was such an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide.
Maria was a great guide, she was informing about every food place we went to and was knowledgeable about the history of the food and area
Do yourself a favor and book this tour immediately. Tour Guide Maria had a vast wealth of knowledge and made the tour very fun. The food choices and portions were very plentiful and generous so you definitely get your money's worth. Maria was also helpful in answering other questions we had about the Medellin. The places we stopped at really appreciated our visit and were very nice. This was the highlight of our 4 day trip to Medellin.
Awful experience. My wife and I got to the event early and no one was there. The email said to meet near an orange umbrella at the church and we never saw the umbrella. With most tours, we get a WhatsApp confirmation confirming who the tour guide is and when they will meet us. We found out ours later that the tour was cancelled but no one let us know by text, call, email or WhatsApp. Got a WhatsApp message at 410pm from Camilla Diaz Suarez saying that they tried to reach me but I don’t show any missed calls leading up to the tour or right after. Camilla never offered to rebook us for free as a courtesy. My advice would be to avoid this tour and save your money.
This gastronomic tour is an a gem and well worth your time. Run as a charming family business founded by a brother-and-sister duo, it introduced me to several days’ worth of authentic Colombian cuisine in two—spanning breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I delved into the rich history of these dishes and their preparation variations across South America, all while savoring their vibrant flavors. The guide’s English was impeccable; she fielded insightful questions on agricultural exports, the culinary preferences of Colombia’s racial groups, and even the nation’s linguistic proclivities with ease. She carries an information booklet with her, that I believe would enable those who are using and speak English as a second language to understand the tour easily. The walking is about a mile/1.6k and easy, a few big steps. A true feast for the gastronomically curious or for someone who simply enjoys good food.
This was a fun way to spend the afternoon. You get to try a bunch of different food, drink and dessert items and learn history behind the food from a local guide. María was my guide and she had so much great information to share at each stop and the walking between. I definitely got lunch and dinner covered with this tour. I highly recommend it.
Maria is an excellent guide and this tour offers a great mix of exotic dishes mixed with essentials like empanadas and Colombian coffee. I love knowing some hidden gems after a food tour and now I know several in El Poblado.
This tour was one of the best tours I ever did. I very highly recommend this. Maria speaks very good English and Spanish and was very knowledgeable in the food and history. This is a must do! Expect about 3-3.5 hours total! Come hungry and with an open mind. Very unique experience! You will try about 9-10 items. This was also very well organized and tried and learned a lot. My taste buds was well satisfied and so glad I did this tour!
Excellent tour and excellent tour guide! María took us around the Poblado neighborhood and talked with us about traditional Colombian foods while we sampled. I enjoyed learning about the history of how the foods evolved over time. Fun and educational, everyone in my group loved it. Highly recommend.
Excellent tour. Maria, our guide, was so knowledgeable and friendly. She was happy to answer all of our questions and allowed us to stay longer at the coffee stop as that was a big interest for us. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour.
Great tasting, we enjoyed the experience, weather, and tour. Maria was a amazing guide. The locations were very nice. Thanks!
We landed in Medellin and this was the first thing we did. Couldn’t ask for a better welcoming experience to the great city of Medellin. Camila was so friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The amount of places and the variety was perfect. It is a small group setting which is even a nicer experience.
We landed in Medellin and took this tour with Camilla because Chat GPT recommended it. It also was specific to take it with Camilla. It was very correct! Such a great experience. The group size was perfect. The spots picked were perfect to give us a flare of the areas and the food scene. There were MORE stops than we were anticipating. Come hungry. We did the afternoon tour and skipped dinner because of how full we were. Would definitely recommend this tour to others. It was 100% worth it.
Our guide arrived 15 minutes late. So we started off awkwardly. There was plenty of time during the 2.5 hour tour for our guide to make a comeback, but it never materialized. The guide was having a bad day, so I'm giving her some leeway. (In truth it was more like a 1-star tour than 3-stars.) Almost all of the food stops were great. None of us in our family of 5 liked this arepas that were served. Everything else was pretty excellent. All-in-all, we had a great time, but it was in spite of our guide's temperament. Our go-to when visiting other countries is a Viator food tour. The one in Bogota was our favorite. This one comes in last place.
The food offerings, variety and quantity were excellent. The group and guide were awesome! We LOVED the food and especially the yummy lemonade coffee
Best food experience I’ve ever had in Colombia. Camila is a great guide and knows a lot of history and history of the food origins. You will not be disappointed with this food tour, and please come hungry because there is a lot of food
The food was definitely traditional Colombian fare. Tried some things I would not have ordered on my own, but it paid off because they were all delicious. There was also coffee, fruit drinks, and more. Come hungry and you won’t be disappointed. Our guide, Camila, was very intelligent and gave us the history of each dish and drink. Such a rest to have a local explain the food and the regions of origin of the food items. Highly recommend!
Best food tour! Had an amazing day trying many traditional Colombian dishes with Camila. She took as to delicious places and we finished the day so full! Highly recommend. Best food tour we have ever done!
I always hit a food tour whenever I travel abroad and this has been one of my favorites! Camilla was an excellent guide with lots of information about Medellín and its culinary scene. Lots of food, drinks and sweets. Highly recommend!
We loved our food tour! The food was so good and we got to visit places we never would have found on our own. Highly recommend.
This food tour was so much fun! We loved learning about Colombian cuisine and all the tastings were fantastic. Camila was a great guide and her knowledge and warmth really made the trip special!
Camila is a wonderfully knowledgeable and engaging guide! The food was a fantastic representation of Colombian cuisine. Highly recommend this tour!
The food was delicious and very interesting. Our tour guide was right on point telling us about the food and stories behind it. The exotic fruit was incredible. If you are in Medellin, take this tour and request Camila.
