We had a wonderful time in this guided tour. Laura did a great job, not only showing us around the various places but also making the day enjoyable with her friendly personality, Santa Fe de Antioquia is a very beautiful town, full of history, and is a must-see if you are in Medellin. This tour would do the job.

Western Suspension Bridge Our next stop in our great Santa Fe de Antioquia Tour is the Western Suspension Bridge, this bridge was declared National Monument in 1976. Finished in 1895, this bridge was designed and constructed by the same engineer involved in the Brooklyn Bridge construction. Today, it is the third largest suspension bridge in Latin America and the eight worldwide. There are many stories behind this bridge and its creator some of them fun some others amazing but all interesting.
Santa Fe de Antioquia town Tour: Walking in the 1700´s This cobbled stone town was the place where the independence of Antioquia was planned and signed. Since Santa Fe de Antioquia was declared a national monument its houses cannot be modified making it the best preserved town to admire colonial style. In our stroll we visit a very authentic restaurant to have lunch, museums, churches, squares and the most emblematic streets. However one of the best activities in this Santa Fe de Antioquia tour is the fruit tasting we invite to have. Since this region has a wide variety of seasonal fruits you should not miss them out. Inside the town we´ll do a walking tour that includes visiting: Metropolitan Cathedral Santa Barbara Church Chiquinquirá Church Museum of Juan de Corral Mariscal Robledo To sum up if you like history, culture, nature, architectural works, healthy and delicious fruits and to have fun think no more and book now this amazing Santa Fe de Antioquia tour with us.

We had a great experience with Erika who was a fun and informative guide!
Erika picked us up in a nice new vehicle and was super friendly and knowledgeable. He personality and humour was a great asset to our trip there and back. We both had a ton of fun, and learned alot.
I had a wonderful experience traveling from Medellin to see the colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia with Sara our guide who did an amazing job of both driving us and sharing with us the significance of the town and the bridge across the Cauca River which is an amazing feat of engineering! I would recommend taking this tour due to the history and scenery. I would recommend going with Sara who was excellent!
We had a wonderful experience with Alejandro, he came on time to pick up us, he was very knowledgeable about all the places and was listening to our opinions and needs, also he’s very friendly.
A fun day trip from Medellin. The town isn't large, but it's interesting to see the history. If you have a good guide, then you'll have a great experience. Our guide, Sara, was incredible. She was full of energy and had so much knowledge to share with us. We learned so much about the history, politics, and culture of Colombia. We had an incredible time much in thanks to her. Santa Fe is going to be notably hotter than Medellin, so be prepared for that.
I had such a wonderful experience on the Santa Fe de Antioquia tour, and I can’t recommend it enough—especially if you get Sara as your guide! I was traveling solo and staying just outside of Santa Fe without a rental car, so this tour ended up being the perfect way to explore the area comfortably and stress-free. Sara picked me up right from my hotel, and from the moment we started, she was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and just genuinely fun to spend the day with. We visited the Western Suspension Bridge and explored the beautiful old town of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Along the way, Sara shared so much history and context—it really felt like I was learning things most visitors (and probably even some locals!) wouldn’t know. We also visited several beautiful historic churches and stopped by a lively local outdoor market, which gave a great feel for the culture and day-to-day life in the town. Another highlight was a stop at a jewelry shop featuring stunning gold and silver filigree pieces and emeralds—plus some amazing local honey that I couldn’t resist! One of my favorite unexpected moments was when Sara took me into a hotel with incredible libraries, including a collection of first printings of Don Quixote—such a unique and memorable experience. We wrapped up the day with a lovely lunch, and throughout the tour, Sara even took great photos for me to share with friends and family, which I really appreciated as a solo traveler. She also gave me fantastic recommendations for other tours to do next time I’m in Medellín, and I will absolutely be booking with her again. I didn’t do the optional hot air balloon (I chose sleep instead 😄), but even without it, the tour was completely worth it. If you’re looking for a personalized, informative, and genuinely enjoyable experience—this is it.
Alejandro was our guide on the Sante Fe de Antioquia tour. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable . Sante Fe is the old capital of Antioquia and is beautiful. We felt very safe. We highly recommend this tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Santa Fe de Antioquia with Erika. The city and scenery were beautiful. The city is very well-preserved and has a lot to offer for restaurants, cafes, and shopping. Erika took us through the history of the city and region. She was a wealth of knowledge, be it the architecture or prominent figures from the region. Erika had incredible recommendations every step of the way and always ensured we were looked after. I highly recommend this experience!
We had a wonderful day with Erika, who was very helpful to answer all our questions about Colombia & history. SantaFe is cute historical City, and the bridge is interesting. Walking was easy. Lunch is not included & guests can choose a restaurant or not to eat. Note on Wednesdays some shops & museums are closed, then one can enjoy a somewhat more quite walking tour !
Alejo was an excellent tour guide, he is intelligent and personable, had lots of interesting information, and we had a great day with him. He speaks fluent English and we were able to practice some Spanish with him. We loved the impressive suspension bridge, walking over the river and exploring such a beautiful area. Santa Fe is a great historical little town with friendly people and we enjoyed the day immensely.
We were lucky enough to spend another incredible day with tour guide Erika, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable days of our entire trip. We decided to add paragliding at the very last minute, and Andres, the owner of MedellinDay Trips, was incredibly understanding and helpful. He worked with us to seamlessly fit it into our itinerary on our final day, which we really appreciated. Erika picked us up directly from our hotel and, as always, brought her amazing energy, warmth, and knowledge. We started the day with a quick stop local coffee shop, which was the perfect way to ease into the day. From there, we headed out for paragliding—an absolutely unforgettable experience with stunning views. Erika made sure everything felt organized, smooth, and stress-free, which allowed us to fully enjoy the moment. After paragliding, we continued on to the beautiful colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Walking through its historic streets, admiring the architecture, and learning about its history made for a perfect contrast to the adrenaline of earlier in the day. Erika’s storytelling and insights really brought the town to life. Once again, Erika went above and beyond to make the day special, and the flexibility and care from Andres and MedellinDay Trips truly stood out. This day was the perfect ending to our trip, and we couldn’t recommend Erika, Andres, and their team more highly for anyone looking for authentic, well-organized, and unforgettable experiences in Colombia.
Sara, was our tour guide she is amazing. We learned so much about this beautiful historic colonial town, and its people.
A wonderful day trip to Santa Fe de Antioquia. We enjoyed going to the bridge, museum and around town. Our guide Esteban is very knowledgeable and explained everything with details. I recomended him 100%.
A great day trip to Santa Fe. Seeing the town and surrounding areas was very enjoyable. Erika was a great guide and made the day a lot of fun!!
Another wonderful tour with a fabulous tour agency! Sara was our guide for this tour. She picked us up at our Airbnb, and we had a lovely drive with her to Santa Fe Antioquia. We scheduled this at the last minute due to a cancellation from a different tour company, and both Medellin Day Trips and Sara were so accommodating. Sara was an excellent guide and made sure that my friend and I were comfortable and entertained at all times. She was quite informative and very interesting. I cannot recommend Medellin Day Trips more highly! You will be glad that you booked with them.
Erika was amazing. She made our experience fun and was very respectful of our needs. We really enjoyed tasting all the different fruits at the market and we were amazed by the wealth of information that Erika had about everything. We enjoyed going to the bridge and museum. Thank you so much!
I had a private tour with Erika, who was great to spend the day with. Picking me up right on time, Erika considered the weather and planned our tour accordingly. She made sure that we caught the historic sites and explained their importance to me. We walked across the suspension bridge outside of town (open only to pedestrians and tuk-tuks), which is an engineering wonder; my Colombian friends were surprised that she took the time for this. We walked through the historic district, enjoyed the architectural details. We talked about the importance of Santa Fe in Colombia's history, about the slave markets, and visited 4 important churches, and had lunch at a great spot. On the way home, Erika took me far out of the normal route so I could meet up with my friends. The personal tour was well worth the price, and I had a fantastic day.
We had a marvellous time with Erika from beginning to end. We learned that Erika was a professional in another field for many years, but she fell in love with being a tour-guide and kept it as her job. We were glad to have someone who loved her job so passionately, happy all the times, well equipped and behaved professionally! Erika took us through the Western Bridge over the Cauca Rive, and into Santa Fe de Antioquia, and was very knowledgable of the places. Did you know the engineer of the Western Bridge, José Maria Villa Villa was also involved as an engineer with the NY Brooklyn Suspension Bridge? Erika engaged us proactively with great conversations throughout the tour. Santa Fe de Antioquia is a small, pretty colonial town with characters. Despite it is small and not as high profile as Guatapé, there are some quaint boutique hotels, restaurants and a small well maintained museum. For those who like gold, there are some small shops selling lovely items. Erika also took us to a local fruit stand, and we ate fruits that we never had before, some didn't even look like fruits at all! It was a breath of fresh air getting away from the crowded Medellin, and we recommend this small town tour, especially with Erika as your guide!
Excellent and interesting trip. Sara, our guide and driver was the best ever. We learnt so much about Columbia from a wise and intelligent and very talkative guide. Highly recommended.
Highly recommended the tour! Our Guide Andrés, very friendly and attentive, told us about the history of this beautiful town! It was my birthday and he gave me a delicious cake, traditional (delicious of course) You will not regret visiting Santa FE de Antioquia! The words and photos fall short!!
My family of 5, my friend's family of 3, and my mother-in-law had the pleasure of doing this tour in English with Diana and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about Santa Fe. We had 4 kids under the age of 4 (2 under the age of 1) and Diana was so flexible and patient with us. She was also very knowledgeable and answered our questions when we were curious to learn more. My nanny is still learning english, and Diana was kind enough to be sure to share the information in spanish as well so she could enjoy the tour too. We also were staying in Santa Fe already so they were able to pick us up but they usually offer this tour with transport FROM Medellin.
Our tour began early. Erika was great and punctual. She was super friendly and WOW she knew her stuff. She’s an excellent history buff and also knew about various topic that came up during the trip. The town was very cute and had a lot to offer. We changed our trip just a little and Erika was very accommodating. Definitely recommended if going to this area.
Magnificent! If you’re planning on visiting Santa Fe de Antioquia, which you definitely should, this is the tour for you! Our guide, Laura, was outstanding! She was very knowledgeable, polite, caring, and ensured that we made the most of our time in Santa Fe! We wholeheartedly recommend her and this tour!
This is an amazing tour and I highly recommend it. Totally different from the common Guatapé, Communa 13 and Pablo Escobar tours. It’s definitely worth every penny. Our tour guide (Erika) was very knowledgeable and treated us like family the entire time. We learned so much about Santa Fe and the Western Bridge. Erika recommended a great coffee shop and restaurant for lunch and it did not disappoint. She also took us to many historic sites, museums and shops. Overall we had a wonderful time and having Erika as our guide was a complete blessing.

The visit to Santa Fe de Antioquia was incredible. Our tour guide, Sarah was very helpful in showing us the tour of the historic town and was a wealth of information about the town, little known facts about the town, general information about medellin and was able to recommend some local flavors of the town. We would highly recommend this trip for those who like to tour a small town with its own unique history and architecture.
Erika from MedellinDayTrips is an excellent tour guide. Our tour began when she met us at our hotel on time in the morning...in fact she was early which allowed us to arrive in Santa Fe before most other tourists. On the drive to Santa Fe, Erika shared her knowledge about Colombia...the land, the history, and the culture. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, so she was able to speak to my friend (in Spanish) and to me (in English) during the trip. While in Santa Fe, Erika took us to see various important sights including churches, markets, a museum, the main plaza, and of course, the bridge. She was happy to answer all of our questions, and even recommended a nice restaurant at the end of our tour. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and greatly appreciate the excellent attention that Erika provided us. If you seek an experienced tour guide for an amazing day in Santa Fe de Antioquia, you should definitely ask for Erika from MedellinDayTrips.
Esteban was a great guide , very knowledgeable and good company. Visiting Santa Fe & the Western Bridge was a great trip from Medellin. Would definitely recommend !
Excellent service! I highly recommend this company. We were 3 couples and took 3 tours with Andres ( Medellin day trips) We went to Santa Fe de Antioquia, Guatape and city tour and the 3 tours were worth every penny. The cars used were very comfortable, cleaned and new. We had Andres as a guide one day and we did the other two tours with Erika. Both of them are excellent. Very knowledgeable, professional and super nice people. Every thing was coordinated and we had not stress at all. You feel like family is taking you everywhere with no hassle of you driving in the traffic of Medellin or the surroundings. I give them 5 stars ⭐️
One of the best days of our Medellin Trip. Erika is the best guide. She is fun, knowledgeable, helpful, and just her bubbly personality with fun anecdotes will make you enjoy this even more. For our luck, it was election day, but Erika took us through back streets and side streets to make our trip a grand success. She showed us the suspension bridge before it gets too hot - perfect 🙌🏼 Got to Cuidad Madre on time, walked around the town, tasted fruits, had local food, and just got great pictures today. Highly recommended Tour company, Tour manager (Andres) and Tour guide (Erika) Thanks again 👍🏼
Alejandro was our tour guide and the trip to Santa Fe. He shared his knowledge about Colombia during our tour. We visited the hanging bridge and colonal town of Santa Fe. Would highly recommend Alejandro as a tour guide for any tour. Alejandro went above and beyond and took Us to famous Palmas Mirador to experience Night view of Medellin valley.
I recommend this tour to everyone! Quick trip from Medellin gets you to picturesque town, which used to be a capital of this region. Make sure to ask for Erika as your guide, her English is excellent, she is very knowledgeable and will take care of every little thing. We truly enjoyed the trip.
Santa Fe de Antioquia is a beautiful colonial town and great day trip from Medellin. The history of the Western Bridge was interesting and the surroundings are beautiful. Love that this company does private tours. Esteban made the day that much better with history, humor, and helpfulness.
We thoroughly enjoyed both trips with did while in Medellin with 2 different guides. They both were punctual, fun, informative, and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend you use this agency.
Esteban was our tour guide and the trip to Santa Fe was more enjoyable because of him! He shared his knowledge about life in Colombia during the car ride. We visited the hanging bridge and the charming town of Santa Fe. The highlight of our trip was tasting the fruits that are native to Colombia! Would highly recommend Esteban as a tour guide for any tour. The experience of visiting any place is always enriched when you have someone like Esteban, a passionate local to guide you!
Wonderful day travelling to Santa Fe de Antioquia with our guide Carlos. No need to visit pueblito paisa in Medellin, better to visit this actual pueblo paisa. Super cute colonial town an hour outside Medellin. The western bridge was impressive and we chose to walk across. An older lady sold us some tamarindo candy. We then parked at the edge of town and walked around. Tons of picturesque little streets and buildings. A few notable plazas and churches. We entered the main church and looked around. There was a poetry exhibition set up in one square. A great Encanto-esque town to spend the day. Several restaurants offer use of their pools for a minimal fee. We would never have learned as much without a guide to take us and explain. We also did a Medellin city tour and a trip to Guatape with Medellin Day Trips. Both excellent and recommended as well!
Private tours are the best and if you get a guide like Andres, even better. You really get to see the most interesting sites and receive all explanations you need, giving you an much more accurate image of the country and the people. I strongly recommend this tour to Santa Fé!
Once again, this tour felt like if my wife and I have a personal friend in meta-Jean who picks us up one morning at our hotel and not only takes us all the way to Santa Fe de Antioquia, but also makes various stops on the way to show us details of his country and culture. This is what Andrés and Medellín Day Trips offers. An opportunity for cultural immersion and that is what we look for when we travel and book a private guide. All in a comfortable, air conditioned SUV. Our first stop in the tour was meeting Doña Ofelia and he Living Flower Museum (Museo Viviente de las Flores de Medellín). Being a native Spanish speaker, my wife and I enjoyed our conversation and jokes with Ofelia, however Andrés’s English is excellent for those not fluent in Spanish and he will be able to translate very well for you. We were given a gift of homemade Colombian ice pops by Ofelia’s daughter while enjoying the explanation of the flowers and the beautiful view in the mountains. Next stop on the way to Santa Fe we went to see a rural cable car which connects various mountains with the main village in the rural parts of Medellín. The views from the cable car are majestic and you get to interact with locals on the way as many local farmers use this transportation method to transport their goods to the main village. Something that would’ve taken them in the past much longer due to having to climb down and back up high mountains. After the cable car, we continued our road trip and when reaching Santa Fe, we were first taken to see an old suspended bridge crossing the Cauca River. Only horses, motorcycles, and pedestrians can cross this bridge. No cars are allowed. The views of the river from the bridge are breathtaking, and the historical explanations offered by Andrés are priceless. Next stop is the actual town of Santa Fe de Antioquia, which was the old capital of Colombia’s Antioquia region until the capital was moved to Medellín. We had typical Colombian Paisa food, which was delicious. Nothing like having a local guide making the best recommendations according to your personal taste. We the had a tour around the main landmarks of Santa Fe with detailed historical explanations. At the end of the Santa Fe tour, we headed to a local fruit stand to taste different tropical fruits which taste was out of this world. This is included in the tour. after completing our fruit tasting, visiting a local historical hotel in town, and finishing the day with a nice cup of Columbian coffee at a local coffee shop with local waffle and ice cream; we then embarked our road trip back to Medellín in Andrés’s SUV. both ways on the trip, our conversations with Andrés felt as talking to an old friend you haven’t seen in a long time. His repertoire of music is large and he has something for every taste. However, if you love salsa music, that is his favorite. All in all this was a day trip that was very well worth the price and really economical for everything that is included with this tour. I highly recommend you take this tour from Medellín with Medellín Day Trips. Muchas Gracias, Andrés (thank you very much, Andrés).
We had a great day Andres. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Santa Fe and Medellín. Enjoyed the scenery of the Colombian countryside. The view from the cable cars of the mountainous farms was amazing. Ofelia and her flowers were a delight. We would recommend this tour with Andres as your guide.
Alejandro is an excellent guide! Organized, friendly and willing to give us the best possible experience
The tour was EXCEPTIONAL, SUPER INTERESTING. Sara, the guide is a charming, cultured, intelligent person and makes you feel very comfortable. The bridge is beautiful with a unique history and the city, which must be said, has a history that never ends. But the most exceptional thing is the treatment of Sara (our guide). Totally recommended
perfect tour with a private guide, the lady was very kind and very good, a unique experience totally recommended, super good-hearted and super good professional, without a doubt one hundred percent recommended.
Very good choice of tour, good planning. Esteban, my guide, was truly a companion who guided the tour in a very cheerful and friendly way. Excellent service
A highly recommended tour for those who visit Medellín. I took the trip in August and the truth is I fell in love with Santa Fe de Antioquia, with each of its places, its people. The truth is that Erika's company on this tour was so welcoming, explaining the whole story, every detail and taking thousands of souvenir photos. For those who enjoy architecture, history is a place you should know without a doubt.
It was a wonderful adventure because Erika is a very professional and knowledgeable guide. He explained and answered all our questions about history, economy, culture and more! We took a lot of photos! We are very happy that we took the tour because Sante Fe de Antioquia is a very beautiful place!! Perfect ending of our vacation in Colombia. Thank you very much from Betty, Manuela and Donna😘
Excellent excursion and the guide not to mention. Alejandro has the gift of memory and extensive knowledge of Colombian history. Great resource, enjoyable and fun. He made our visit a very complete one with his great historical knowledge. This and the picturesque city of Santa Fé made our day an unforgettable experience.
We had a spectacular time, Alejandro is an excellent guide and resource, the best day we have had since we arrived in Medellín.
Excellent destination. The architecture is very beautiful. Magnificent weather Very good roads. The churches were closed and we could not enjoy them
