Private Jardin Town Coffee Tour: Beautiful Adventure In The Andes

This was such a great tour , 4 of us were picked up right at our accommodation. Car was clean , new and spacious! Our guide Erika was awesome and so informative. We really appreciated her level of knowledge ,competence in English and driving! My parents enjoyed being included in the whole tour language wise . The coffee farm and Wilson and his family took great care of us . We found the whole back drop incredible, learning about the journey a bean takes from field to cup was very humbling . Jardin is a gem of a town and the tour there was excellent. If you have a day to explore i highly recommend Erika Wilson and this tour company there level of care and organization is stellar !! This tour was one of the most unique experiences my partner and I have ever had. To start, my partner had recently gotten very into the world of coffee, so we wanted to experience authentic Colombian coffee. What we didn’t expect was the incredible scenery and the depth of knowledge our guide, Erika, would share along the way. In both her native Spanish but also perfect English. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable about coffee, but she also gave us amazing insight into Colombia during the drive. She even took us to breakfast at a delicious local restaurant before arriving at the beautiful town of Jardín, where she introduced us to traditional treats and our first cup of delicious coffee cup of the day. After that, we continued to Wilson’s coffee plantation, and the view alone was breathtaking. A traditional Colombian lunch was prepared for us, and once we finished, Wilson guided us through the entire coffee process. He explained coffee production in Colombia, showed us the different types of bees on his farm (I’m a beekeeper, so I especially loved this!), and the highlight — taking us into the mountains where his family owns several farms so we could pick our own coffee. We were then guided through the full production process ourselves: depulping, roasting, and finally enjoying a fresh cup of coffee from the beans we picked that day. Erika complemented the experience perfectly by translating everything Wilson explained (my partner does not speak Spanish) and even took photos for us so we could fully enjoy the moment. Erika made sure we were comfortable on our ride back — adjusting the air conditioning, letting us recline the seats, and honestly, we got along so well we spent most of the drive happily talking and discussing Colombian history. This experience was incredible and truly memorable. I would recommend this tour 1000%.

We took the coffee plantation tour to Jardín, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Erica was our host, and she was right on time picking us up at our hotel. Although it was a long day (about 12 hours), she kept the energy high throughout with her upbeat personality and deep knowledge of coffee. She truly knows the process inside and out. Wilson, the owner of the coffee plantation, was equally upbeat and fun, and it was fascinating to see the entire coffee process from start to finish. Ending the day with a tour of the beautiful town of Jardín—and, of course, more coffee—was the perfect way to wrap up the experience. Erica got us back to our hotel without any issues. We had a great day with our driver and guide, Esteban, who is a skilled driver that doesn’t take any chances and drives very safe. His English is fluent and he has great knowledge in both coffee production, the region around Jardin and Colombian issues in general. The farm and the owner, Wilson, and his family was also a great experience. We can only recommend this excurcion.

Our guide, Erika, was very informative. She was friendly and drove us confidently through mountain ranges and through city streets. The coffee plantation tour was excellent. We were explained the whole process, then we actually participated in the process. We picked ripe coffee beans directly off the plants, we separated (skinned) the beans from the fruit/shell, we skipped the drying part (because that takes days), but we did shuffle/stir previously picked beans on a rooftop to facilitate drying. We then removed the outer skin from the dried beans, ground the beans, and finally brewed our own coffee. The local lunch was tasty (rice, fried plantain, yuca, potato, and option of beef, chicken, or pork). We later visited the town of Jardin, which was very picturesque. I highly recommend the tiny cable car to the top of a local mountain for a beautiful view of the town.

Excellent tour. It was all day, we were picked up at 7am and got back at 7pm. Would do it again for sure, I learned a lot about coffee production and we had a fantastic and relaxing day. My only recommendation is to take dramamine or something similar if you get car sick due to mountain roads.

We had a fabulous experience in this all day private tour. Erica picked us up at our hotel and was super informed and told us so much about Colombia and Medellin on our drive. The drive was stunning as we went through the back country roads. While at the family owned farm, we met the owner and he educated us on everything we needed to know about coffee. We also actually experienced the whole coffee planting, harvesting and roasting process. We later saw the town of Jardín, which absolutely stunning. I would highly recommend it.

This was the highlight of our time in Colombia! We had a wonderful guide Erika who gave us great insight into the history and culture of the region, while doing it with humor and answering all of our questions. She went above and beyond to make sure the day was incredible.

Laura was a fantastic guide and made the experience really special for us. She is also the safest driver we've had in Colombia which was important for such a long journey. The farmer, Wilson, was a generous host and made us feel welcome. This private tour was a memorable and informative experience for our visit to Colombia.

Erika was our guide and was fantastic! Wilson at the coffee farm taught us everything about coffee growing backset by stunning views. Jardin is also a gorgeous town with lots of little things to do. Erika took care of everything for us which made the trip extra special.

Where do I start this was an epic and absolutely flawless tour, Laura is a real legend she made the whole experience fun and so enjoyable. It is a bit further away from Medellin however this is something I cannot recommend enough while in Medellin. Jardin is soooo beutiful honestly it has a heavenly landscape it’s so green full of lush tropical plants with that real Colombian authentic feel we absolutely loved it. For us Jardin town was just magical there was hardly any other tourists only locals and Colombians coming for a break, we really valued this it’s so unique. We were picked up from our hotel perfect timing we started the drive in a highly capable and smart 4x4 car drove through the beutiful landscapes to get to the first town which was very authentic also and beutiful then onto Jardin where we explored the town and went on a telecabin to the top of the mountain with an insane backdrop. We then went to the most stunning coffee plantation where we met the owner Wilson, Wilson is an veteran in Coffee he explained everything flawlessly if you are to do one coffee tour in Colombia this is the one you will not regret your decision trust me :) he is so nice and friendly I hope to see him again in the near future I cannot speak highly enough of Laura she is the best guide ever she made the whole experience so much fun and enjoyable we loved her company! We will stay friends 100% for sure when ever we are in Colombia we will be calling her and Sara for sure! If you are thinking about booking this tour don’t think just book it . We had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide Esteban made everything very easy, including picking us up at our hotel and providing transportation to the coffee farm and jardin. The views along the way were stunning and we were so happy to see the country outside of Medellin. While at the coffee farm, we learned how coffee is produced starting with how it's grown, and including the opportunity to pick coffee beans ourselves. I certainly have a new appreciation for the coffee I drink every morning! We had a delicious lunch at the farm, then travelled to the beautiful town of jardin where we spent a leisurely afternoon taking in the sights. Esteban was very knowledgeable and shared lots of information about the areas we visited, and ensured all our needs were met, including finding us delicious snacks throughout the day! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a more personal, small group experience and an opportunity to get out of Medellin and see more of the natural beauty of Colombia.

The farm is stunningly beautiful, the host gracious and accommodating to constant photo-taking, and Jardin feels out of a storybook. Our guide Esteban spoke excellent English and not only translated but gave us history and context as well. And don’t be daunted by the length of the drive - when else will you casually pass sacred mountains and signs for “anteater crossing”?

Esteban was an amazing guide. He answered our questions and tailored our visit to our requests. We enjoyed stopping for coffee in the lovely town of Hispania. Both Hispania and Jardin are well worth a visit to experience authentic Colombian towns away from the tourist crowds. It feels like you're getting a glimpse of the real Colombia. Visiting the Cafe del Jardin coffee farm was a trip highlight. Wilson was fantastic, and learning about the coffee-making process was fascinating. Despite the longer drive to get there, it was 100% worth it.

I've done a lot of excursions and tours and this was one of the best I've ever been on! Esteban, our tour guide picked us up from our hotel and gave us an amazing day adventure! From start to finish, he personalized everything and made it such an enjoyable experience for us (including accommodating for our gluten allergy). The coffee tour was amazing, then we also went to the beautiful small town of Jardin and drank at another delicious coffee shop. He told also us so much about the history of Colombia. He was well spoken and bilingual, which made everything so easy to understand and enjoy, especially when we interacted with locals. I speak a little Spanish, but it was refreshing to have him there to help us out. Would highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience! We got an informative tour of an organic coffee farm and got to try some delicious coffee made with a Japanese Syphon. We also picked the horseback riding option, which was a delight because we got some incredible views. My wife was feeling ill that day but our tour guide Esteban did an excellent job at accommodating and adjusting the tour to match our abilities while keeping it informative and interesting, as did everyone at the coffee farm. The drive itself was spectacularly beautiful. Would recommend 100%!

Great experience visiting Hacienda Café de El Jardin on a private family coffee tour! Our tourguide Erika Castaño was very nice and made us feel like family. She was very attentive, conversational and considerate. She provided context and historical descriptions of the places we were driving by. During the hacienda tour, Wilson provided the whole coffee experience. He gave us a rundown of the whole coffee making process including hand picking of the coffee beans all the way to toasting and drinking it. We had a great time.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life. Our tour guide Esteban was everything we could have asked for and more. He gave us great information and history about the areas we were in. He was very familiar with the area and knew so much about birds and plants. Wilson had the most beautiful farm I’ve ever seen. He was accommodating, kind and knowledgeable. He greeted us with a delicious lunch wrapped in a banana leaf. The lunch was of course accompanied with a delicious cup of coffee. He had an example and information about every single step of the coffee growing process. We picked coffee cherries, used traditional machines to process the beans, as well as roasting fresh. He gave us a wonderful ride through his plantation in his Suzuki truck and this was the highlight for me. Jardin is amazing and I recommend this experience to everyone and when I come back I will try to visit again.

The tour was really good and easy to book. The communication both with the agency and the tour guide was fast, immediate and impecable. The trip from Medellin to Jardin is quite a long one, but our awesome tour guide Alejando made it super easy and enjoyable as he's a fountain of information on all topics we went through. Jarsin is the cutest town, but also the coffee plantage we wnt to is unbelievable woth the nicest scenery and a great home made lunch! And we fin8shed off a full rounded day woth a nice and easy horseback ride, seeing the scenery from a other wonderful perspective. And another shoutout to Alejo and his great guidance, patience and all round information and knowledge sharing! I can't praise him enough, honestly! I would definitely recommend this tour, agency and Alejo to anyone that come to Medellin and want a coffee tour experience! 🙏🏼

This trip was very well organized. We left on a Sunday, and the guides suggested we leave earlier to Jardin so we can make it back before rush hour. Esteban is very knowledgeable, and well placed as a tour guide given his history in and around the area. He genuinely enjoys taking care of others, and making them feel like family. The tour was unexpected and we have changed our view on coffee and the production process forever. Getting to see Jardin was a real treat too, this town is like out of a history book. Simply beautiful

Hands down the highlight of our trip! Erika, our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. She took a 3 hour car ride and turned it into a learning experience. We left having a much better understanding of the coffee process as well as the country we were visiting. As for the farm La Doctora, wow! If they were to have offered a night stay we would have taken it. It was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. We could have sat on their porch drinking coffee and watching the tropical birds all day. Antonio gave us the hands on experience for learning about coffee from seed to cup. And it was delicious! He said the coffee we drank was on the tree 20 days previously, you can’t get any fresher than that! After the farm we went into the the charming city of Jardin. I wish we skipped the mountain view and just had a drink in the courtyard taking it all in. But that’s personal preference, the viewpoint was lovely too. I would (already have) 1000% recommend this tour to everyone.

The entire experience from start to finish was excellent. Alejo was an amazing guide who definitely knew his stuff and was very knowledgeable about everything throughout the tour. From general coffee questions to anything we could think of about the farm/Jardín, he knew the answer. Jaime was also a great host on the farm and provided what we thought was a very authentic experience. Our entire group was comfortable throughout and so far it was the highlight of our time in Colombia. Highly recommend!

Diana was an amazing guide! We had the most lovely day touring the coffee farm and seeing the town of jardín. It was a long car ride but amazingly worth it. The tour was wonderful! Absolutely must see when in Medellin! Andres is very knowledgeable and genuinely shares his love for coffee and his country with others. He is fluent in English, great communicator and has a great sense of humor. Throughout the day Andres took his time to answer our questions, we never felt rushed and he accommodated our request to make additional stops. The coffee farm was an authentic experience. Welcoming hosts made us feel like we were visiting family. Delicious lunch prepared by Angelita set a high standard for food during the rest of the trip. The most enjoyable tour I' ve ever had!!. But this couldn't have been possible without our extremely knowledgeable and more than kind tour guide Alejo. The whole tour went above expectations, despite we had to detour from the main road the trip was full of stories and amazing views. Once in the farm on top the hill we had an unique view of the mountains with full of coffee, plantain, passion fruit and many more. We took the horseback riding and it was a very enjoyable ride ( considering that i am not a horse fan) with Jaime's horses ( Leonardo the best horse) through the different farms. the lunch was a very tasty warm home made meal. Jaime and his family were very welcoming and nice during the whole stay at his farm. We got to drink an amazing coffee many times. Alejo explained everything in details but completely understandable and we got to learn a lot about coffee and especially in Colombia. Once we left Jaime's farm we headed to one of the most typical Antioquía town, full of colors and colonial type houses. There we got to taste more coffee brewed with different methods and got some sweet souvenirs. All in all, one of the best experience!!

Such an amazing tour. Alejandro (Alejo) was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Great communication right from booking to pick up. Well worth the price! We stopped for breakfast at an amazing local cafe outside the city. The coffee farm was spectacular with incredible views and great food! We learned SO much, one of the best tour experiences I’ve had!

We had a great experience with Medellin Day Trips. We did three tours with Andres and his company. He went above and beyond on multiple occasions during the tours. Lunch at the home of a lovely couple at a coffee farm with a breathtaking view was one of our favorite experiences of our two weeks in Columbia. Highly recommend!

My husband and I went on a long-awaited trip to Colombia during challenging Covid -19 times. Trip to Medellin exceeded our expectations. We are still in awe of an experience from two full day tours we took with Andres from MedellinDayTrips. He is a genuine, very knowledgeable guide, passionate about his city and his country. We were lucky to find him for our first trip to Colombia. Our first tour with him was a trip to a local coffee farm in a breathtakingly beautiful Antioquian countryside followed by a visit to a picturesque town Jardín. We were deeply touched by warmth and hospitality of our host - the owner of the coffee plantation Jaime Marin and his family. We enjoyed immensely the views of the valley over his delicious coffee and al fresco lunch prepared for us by the family from the ingredients they grow on the farm. After hands- on experience of picking coffee beans and detailed explanation of the complex coffee growing process by Andres, we will definitely appreciate much more our coffee drinking habits. Nearby coffee town Jardín is absolutely beautiful! Andres gave us a brief overview of history and culture and showed us the most important spots in town, including famous, local pastry shop and a small cable car. Thanks to Andres, the entire day was an authentic and unforgettable experience not to be missed if you are visiting Medellin.

This tour was a highlight of our honeymoon. Diego picked us up in the city, we enjoyed the beautiful drive through the breathtaking mountains and finally arrived at the remote coffee farm - a little slice of heaven. I can’t recommend this trip enough, I’m still dreaming about it. Book it!

From the pickup in the morning, throughout the day and all the way to the return at the end of the day, Andreas was a brilliant companion and tour-guide. The day's travel through the gorgeous Colombian countryside was a touchstone to our visit in Medellin. Andres' passion and knowledge on the coffee industry and farming practices gave a grounding to what we saw; and being able to share in his close relationship to the farmer's family (Angelica and Andres, and their sons) was a pleasure second to none. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared; the tour of the coffee production process, and the intricacies of a holistic and organic farming practice made a wonderful focus for a brilliant day. (We're really looking forward to the moment they can start selling directly over the web, as the coffee may have been the best I've ever tasted! If Angelica wanted to start a cooking school; I'd be quick to get in line!) Stopping in Jardin was equally lovely; despite our tour happening at the beginning of the COVID shutdown and things being relatively quiet; the beauty of the town can't be overstated. From the main square and the cathedral, to the wonderfully decorated homes up and down every street, the town revealed new delights around every corner. The coffee covered hills and the setting of the community so well named in a blooming paradise made an impression that will stay with me for a lifetime; I wish I could say the same for the honey and jam we picked up, but they'll be gone long before the memories! We heard wonderful things about the town of "Jardin" but this tour was beyond our expectations!!!! First of all, we had an amazing English speaking guide (Andres) who accompanied us in a "private" car from Medellin, picking us up at our hotel. Andres engaged us in conversation during the 3+ trip, providing an educational context for our excursion as well as happily stopping for photos as requested. We felt like "royalty" The countryside drive was breathtaking and "Jardin" has to be one of the most picturesque towns in Colombia, with amazing gift shops and sights. Andres took us to a local coffee plantation where organic coffee is grown and harvested by hand. The family owners greeted us in their home and provided us with a delicious home-cooked lunch with everything coming from their garden and plantation. The owner explained the coffee growing and harvesting process and gave us opportunities to pick our own beans! We finished our tour and visit with home-brewed cup of Colombian coffee of course! This all- inclusive day is well worth the extra dollars you may pay! Don't miss this day in Paisa paradise! We are so glad we didn't!!

Diego was one of the best tour guides we ever had. He was knowledgeable, had lots of personality and become our friend by the end of the tour. The coffee farm was great, and the owner and wife were wonderful. He works so hard 6 days a week, all of his life and was so humble. The meal was great, and we learned about coffee process and picked some beans and saw the various colors of beans. Jardin was a great little colorful town and enjoyed it.
