After we pick you up at your place the drive to the paragliding spot is a bit more than an hour in an enjoyable drive through the mountains. We accompany you throughout the whole process such as help you with the insurance registration, keeping your belongings safe and taking the best photos of you during take off, flying and landing. We do this activity with certified and experienced local pilots that provide safe and fun flights using the safest equipments. The pilot will give you the instructions to take off and what to do in the air. This paragliding flight will be an unforgettable experience since you will be flying over mountains, rivers and towns. The green color of the mountains is so vivid that together with a 90 meters (295 ft) beautiful waterfall make you feel that you are flying over a paradise. The flight lasts around 15 minutes depending on weather conditions and the altittude is close to 5000ft (1550 mts). After this adventure, ready to climb up an impressive rock?
The drive from the paragliding to the rock is around 1 hour but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, and dozens of mountains silhouettes. As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when it was climbed and more interesting facts about this mysterious monolith. Once we get there you get the chance to climb it up. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country

The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes. At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more. Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied by a cold sangria or a craft beer. After we have seen all the beautiful places this town has to offer we start our journey back to Medellin, with a smile in your face and full of good memories and photos. All in all, you should not miss out this Guatape and Paragliding tour, it allows you to enjoy the beauty of this region in a different and fun way.

Erika was an outstanding guide—the best we had on our trip. She is exceptionally kind, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable. Her understanding of Colombian history goes far beyond Guatapé and El Peñón, which added real depth to the experience. Although only one person in our group was ultimately able to paraglide, Erika went above and beyond to try to make it work for everyone. Her effort, enthusiasm, and passion truly elevated the tour. I had such a wonderful time: still looking at all my pictures from this day. Yuly picked me up from my hotel and was an incredible host, I feel like we became good friends by the end. Her English was great (my Spanish is ok but it was so nice to have deep insight on this area in my own language) I went paragliding and the day was beautiful weather: very professional and friendly people! We explored Guatape and I climbed El Peñol which was also lovely. Lunch was amazing traditional fare at El Fogota Overall stellar experience. We went on the paragliding, rock, and guatape tour and had the best day! While the activities sell themselves (10/10), what set this tour apart was our amazing guide Laura! Laura is knowledgeable, personable, and soo positive and nice to everyone 😊 She helped us enjoy and appreciate everything more and really went out of her way to make sure that we had the best time 💫 The sites and activities are going to be the same for any tour, but Laura made our tour so special and memorable so I highly recommend her 💯 💯 (PS. The drive is 2-2.5hrs either way from Medellín, so choose your tour guide wisely aka choose Laura 😉)
The walk up the hill was a bit challenging with lots of steps, but totally worth it. Everyone there was super friendly and welcoming. They had drinks available to purchase while you waited. The views were absolutely incredible! My guide made me feel safe and at ease the entire time, and took tons of great photos. Overall, an unforgettable experience—highly recommend!
This was a new adventure for me and my husband. Our Tour guide was Erika ! We loved everything about her. She was attentive , very informative, and just about the sweetest thing you could find in Colombia. It was a smooth pick up from our hotel, she was always on time. We stopped at paragliding first( anxiety through the roof) , it was WORTH EVERY PENNY we spent. After completing that thrilling ride we had a celebratory drink at the cafe on site and was off to Guatape. In the town of Guatape we explored the rock and also went into town. I loved how private the tour was, me and my husband got to move at our own pace and actually take in our surroundings, then back to the hotel we went. The day was long but Erika made sure we explored until we couldn’t anymore. She was SO GREAT we ended up booking our city tour of Medellin with them also. Money well spent. My friend and I have traveled all over the world, and Erika it’s hands-down one of the absolute best guides we have ever had. From the moment she picked us up at our Airbnb, to the time when she dropped us off, she was professional, friendly, extremely knowledgeable, caring, and just all around amazing. The drive felt quick because of her wonderful talks about the country and all the sites we were seeing. Her knowledge level is astounding. she made sure that both my friend and I were able to do everything we wanted to, because the two of us do not have quite the same tastes. The way she was able to please, and accommodate both of us was incredible. I cannot say enough about all the sites we saw, the boat ride that was set up, a smooth trip for me at the rock, and the way Erika made sure that I had an incredible guide for the paragliding. We loved Erika so much that we booked two more tours with her during our short stay. We would return to Medellin just to be able to take a tour with Erika again.
It was incredible. Laura was a the best guide I’ve ever had. Not only was she well informed but also extremely patient with us. You will not be disappointed with booking this. Her food recommendations are top notch as well. The paragliding teams were 10/10. As a fully bodied man (280 lbs) haha they made me feel very comfortable with their skills.

Really appreciated this private tour. We were on a time crunch and wanted to do as much as possible in the few days we had in Medellín. Laura was able to coordinate everything and find alternative routes to avoid some traffic so we could get to the paragliding spot on time. Driving from Medellin to Guatape then to Cocorna was a feat we wouldn’t have been able to do by ourselves.

Daniel waited for us at a coffee shop, and off we went to Guatape. He suggested several lunch places, and after lunch took us on a nice walking tour around the city. Luckily the rain had stopped before lunch, so we stayed dry the rest of the day. Then off we went to paraglide. Again, the weather was iffy, but Daniel was persistent in contacting the gliding company to confirm. It was still overcast, but we floated above the mountains and viewed two waterfalls before touching down in a small town. We were whisked back up the mountain to the starting point to reconnect with Daniel and then returned to Medellin. It wasn't the prettiest day, but between Daniel's tour information, his taking pictures of us, and his being persistent so that we would have a memorable day, we had a blast.

Our family of 4 enjoyed the whole day with Erika educating us about the history of Guatape, the Penol and was in constant touch with the Paragliding team to make sure the weather was ok for us to paraglide and she made sure all of us were comfortable and stopped when needed for breaks. This was an amazing experience. I climbed the rock at Guatape and also did paragliding for the first time! Sara was my tour guide and she was amazing. I had a one on one experience with her which was actually so nice because it was so personal. She drove me from start to finish 2.5 hours each way from Medellín). Through conversation with her, I learned a lot of about local Colombians and how they live, which I loved. She was very kind, caring, and took me to nice photo spot sites in Guatape. She even went out of her way to drop me to a preferred spot on the way back after my trip was over for the day and even gave me recs on what to do for the rest of the evening. The paragliding experience is also something I would highly recommend. Andres was also very helpful in coordinating logistics for the day and available for any questions I had before the day started. I highly recommend this tour guide agency and this activity! 10/10!
This your is divided into 3 parts. 1. Paragliding - we were the first to arrive at the location for paragliding, but to our surprise, the place was extremely foggy! We waited for a bit, and thankfully the fog started to clear up. The paragliding pilots made quick use of the opportunity and the activity got underway. My wife took part in this while I say it out, but she definitely enjoyed herself. 2. El Peñol - this was the second part of the tour. Be warned, be you have to be in decent physical shape to climb those rocks. This part was a workout, phew! But, with many breaks in between, we finally made it to the top. Definitely a must do. 3. Lastly, we visited the iconic Guatapé town for a meal and aak through the streets, while our tour guide, Laura, explained a bit of the history and architecture. All in all, this tour is highly recommended. And thank you to our tour guide, Laura, who did a wonderful job.
My wife and I spent an awesome day in Guatape climbing the rock, visiting the town, and then paragliding over the waterfalls. Erika did an excellent job monitoring the weather and adjusting our sequence of activities to ensure we were able to fly. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke perfect english. She took us to local shops and knew many of the local vendors. We enjoyed her so much that we booked her the next day to do a city and cable car tour, which was equally as enjoyable. She has 7 years' experience, and it showed.

Laura was a great tour guide! She picked us up in a nice SUV from our hotel and drove us to a paragliding spot, then to Guatapé to climb the steps, followed by lunch at an amazing restaurant in town. We ended with a tour of Guatapé. Throughout the drive, Laura kept us informed, engaged us in great conversation, and reminded us to take pictures—she even took some fantastic ones of my friends and me. It was awesome! Erika was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful! I didn't want to do th parasailing portion of the tour initially. Erika told me it was an amazing experience and she was 100% correct! I didn't want to regret missing out once I got home.
Alejo was a great tour guide for me and the children. The ride out to the paragliding and Guatape was quite long but he kept us entertained. The paragliding was a great way to enjoy the scenery. We got there early which was key so we didn’t have to wait for others as it gets busy. El Penol was a great vantage point and the city tour was nice. I did pay extra to have a larger vehicle which was worth it for the long drive.
Our family of four went on this tour with Erika as our guide. We had a wonderful time. Andrea recommended the best schedule for our group and Erika led us through the day to maximize our time and give us ample opportunity to explore. We had an outstanding day on this tour! Our tour guide Sara, was amazing! It was like traveling with a friend, not a tour company. This is a private tour, in the guides personal vehicle which was clean and tidy and a newer model with excellent AC. Pick up and drop off was at our hotel. The tour ran about 10 hours. We stoped first to do the paragliding (i recommend a Dramamine if you get motion sickness at all) the views were spectacular then off to do the rock. The rock was 750 stairs up that were slightly uneven. I am 50 and in moderate shape and it took me about 20 mins to walk up with some water breaks, and about the same time to walk down. My knees aren’t great but the views were worth it! Absolutely gorgeous. After the rock we went to the town of Guatapé which was adorable! Our tour guide new everyone and ate lunch with us and told us all about Colombian life, we had ice cream and strolled the streets, shops and churches. Afterwards we had about a 2 hour drive back to the city but the roads were easy and well groomed and the ride was no issue! Great day, great tour, and great guide! Highly recommend!
On June 16th, we booked for a Guatapé/paragliding experience which was such an amazing experience. We had our tour guide Erika and we have nothing but amazing things to say. First off, she was kind, patient, and informative. One our friends were super terrified of paragliding and she did an excellent job in calming her down that she ended up enjoying the whole experience. She really gave us an experience to remember and I highly recommend Erika as your tour guide!! I would definitely recommend to anyone! She definitely made sure that you were comfortable with what you were doing.
